PACK RULE #11: NEVER RUN FROM FATE
I waited my whole life to find my mate, then she ran straight into my arms with danger chasing.
I put down the threat and kept her safe.
Now she's seen what I can do—and she's terrified. Of them. Of me. Of the body count I left behind to protect what’s mine.
She doesn't trust her own instincts, doesn't know if I'm her salvation or her next mistake.
She's not wrong to wonder. I'm a wolf who can't survive inside four walls without losing his mind. Claiming her as my fated mate means making a life with her away from the mountains, which might just break me.
But she's mine. My wolf knew it from the first second I caught her scent.
I'll burn the city down to make her mine.
Even if the city ends up burning me first. This steamy cowboy shifter romance features an Asian-American city-girl and the rough, possessive alpha wolf who decides she's his. Fated mates, forced proximity, and a hero who'd bury anyone who looked at her wrong. HEA guaranteed. No cheating or cliffhangers.

When being in the wrong place at the wrong time turns out to be destiny’s way of delivering your fated mate…

Tropes:
🐺 Fated mates
🔥 Forced proximity
🖤 Dangerous underworld
✨ “Good girl”
🧡 Protective MMC
💀 Touch her & …
🏡 Found family

For a short read, this one absolutely packs a punch.

Brooke is living a life that’s safe, predictable, and built from hard work when she steps in last minute for her boss at a client meeting… except the situation is setting off alarm bells from the start. When her instincts finally scream run, she quite literally crashes into Roy.

And Roy? He doesn’t hesitate. He steps in to protect her while instantly recognising her as his fated mate.

I’m an easy sell when it comes to fated mates, but add shifters, forced proximity, protective energy, and chemistry that burns from page one and I’m already obsessed.

Roy, fiercely protective while carrying his own struggles with PTSD. I loved seeing how that instant connection with Brooke brought moments of calm to the constant fight-or-flight his wolf lived in.

Even without reading the previous books, I never felt lost. The world and character dynamics were easy to settle into.

Short. Addictive. Sweet with a protective bite. I devoured this in a day 🔥

Thank you to Literally Yours PR for the ARC!

Happy Reading

I’m convinced this series can go on and on. I’m not complaining though. However, after coming off a slew of complex stories and characters not sure of themselves or the relationships, this one had a different vibe. I know that each time a Wolf Ranch book comes out there is more sex than story, after all it’s mainly how the wolves communicate and show they care. It felt different in this one, not as exciting and there is no leeway into Brooke and Roy finding each other. The book pretty much opens up with Brooke unaware of the situation her boss throws her in and she’s in the midst of it, only to realize how much danger she actually is in. She has an epiphany that she is about to do something illegal but she has no choice but to comply or else she’s dead basically. She ends up following through on the demand but then quickly removes herself from the situation to run away which winds up going straight into Roy’s arms in another suite. From there, the rest is history. I don’t need to go into the specifics of Roy realizing he found his mate and the ramifications that come from it. If you’re like me and have read and followed this series from the beginning, nothing is a surprise anymore. The only difference is how the couple deals with it which can either be easy or challenging. Roy and Brooke had challenges, mainly having to do with Roy’s past but also how Brooke grew up. I felt like this could have been more complex and gone a lot deeper but maybe I’m just craving some more substance these days. This one felt like more of a physical connection between Brooke and Roy, not really mental. I enjoyed the steamy parts but at some point I just wanted more from the story. The only reason I’m giving this a high 3 is because there were elements of the story that was interesting, like the criminal part of it and learning about Roy and Brooke’s past. It showcased a real struggle Brooke and Roy have in their adult life and I liked how that was somewhat of a focus when they aren’t having sex or thinking about it. However, the reason Roy used that makes him feel better and grounded felt like he was relying too much on Brooke, but it wasn’t her really as a person. It was the fact that he felt like he was in control and himself whenever he was sleeping with her basically. All he thought about was sex and normally it doesn’t bother me but it felt over the top in this story whereas other Wolf Ranch books had more going on. I initially gave this book a 4, but after giving it a day to let the story cook and settle, I realized it was more of a 3, just ok. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t make or break if I’m going to continue the series or not, because I absolutely am. I just wish I could have gotten more from the story, even though, going into it, I know it’s more sex based.

Not sure how much longer this series can continue. It’s getting pretty mundane and repetitive, which is a shame because the series started out so strong and full of promise.

PACK RULE #11: NEVER RUN FROM FATE

Continuing saga to the Wolf Ranch Series, and yet, it is a fresh new story with a few people from previous stories. What happens when a human female, Brooke, and a male wolf shifter, Roy, meet by happenstance, and he knows almost immediately she is his mate?

“I was looking for something quiet and stable. Numbers don’t lie, and everyone’s got to pay their taxes.”

Brooke Van Drusen/Lee (both surnames have been used) was asked by her employer to go to the Four Seasons in his place to represent a client. From the minute she is escorted to a penthouse unit and sees several intimidating men, and her client sweating, she knows something isn’t right. She will do the wire transfer, excuse herself to use the restroom, and run into the protective arms of a man she learns is Roy Banner, from Cooper Valley, Montana.

The story is a mystery/suspense with life-and-death danger, a dominant and protective wolf shifter, and secrets. From the moment Brooke runs to Roy, and he holds her, smells her, he knows she is his fated mate, but she is also human. A wishy-washy, in-love-out-of-love mother raised Brooke, and she never wants to be that way. So is it adrenaline or chemistry that has her and Roy tangled in the sheets? How far will Roy go to protect her? Has she jumped from the frying pan into the fire? Men shoot at them, and Roy eliminates them—but is she safe with him? Then the DEA is involved and asking for her help.

Mark Ruhl: We’ve been investigating Sam Lazano for over two years. You recognize the name.
Brooke: Yes. I think he was the man at a meeting I attended yesterday in the suite down the hall. The name was mentioned.

The story is a fast-paced, action-packed shifter/human adventure with mild BDSM, power exchange, and explicit scenes. It will have Brooke waffling back and forth about her feelings and comparing herself to her mother, someone she doesn’t want to emulate. Brooke is passionate when with Roy, recognizing the chemistry, but is easily swayed away from him by her friend, Casey. Will fate and love win?

Brooke was just filling in for her boss. When things start feeling off, she knows she needs to cut and run. But where to go? Roy didn’t expect his fated mate to run right into his arms. She also had some mean men gunning for her. No one was going to hurt his mate. He would take down anyone that tried. But things aren’t safe for him in the city I love that we finally get to read about Roy and what happened to him. I do recall it being talked about in “Dangerous” but it never went into detail. Now we know about his past. I have to say, he did the right thing. He saved those women. They may have “swept it under the rug” but they knew what happened. Now having to live with that and to make sure your own mate was safe was another issue. I get why Brooke had doubts but she should have stuck to her heart and gut from the get go.

Her friend Casey was trying to help but it sort of didn’t. I had to laugh a bit because I’m Korean and I had a friend named Kacey as well. Obviously different spelling and all that but it just struck me funny. I always go with my gut. Anyhoo, I can understand Brooke being uncertain due to her mom but she should have held strong and at least gone first to Montana. Thank goodness for Mark Ruhl. He did help ease her mind. We also learn about why the DEA wanted information. The case and her learning about a Mob issue was a short side note to these two. They both found peace. Finding the one brought that together to be one. I thought this was a great story. And Brooke got to meet all the other human women.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Unleashed is a fast‑paced, suspense‑filled addition to the Wolf Ranch series, blending fated‑mate intensity with danger, mystery, and heartfelt emotion. When Brooke steps in for her boss at a business meeting, she quickly realizes she’s walked into something far more dangerous than a simple client handoff. Forced to flee, she literally runs into the arms of Roy Banner — a dominant, protective wolf shifter who knows instantly that she’s his fated mate.

What follows is a gripping mix of action, chemistry, and high‑stakes tension. Brooke is human, cautious, and shaped by a childhood with an unreliable mother, making her wary of trusting her own heart. Roy, on the other hand, is all instinct, loyalty, and fierce devotion — determined to protect her from the criminals hunting her and from the shadows of his own past. As the DEA steps in and secrets unravel, Brooke must decide whether her connection with Roy is adrenaline… or destiny.

This story delivers everything fans love about Wolf Ranch: a protective alpha hero, a heroine finding her strength, sizzling chemistry, and a tight‑knit shifter community. The action is sharp, the romance is intense, and the emotional journey — especially Brooke’s struggle to trust herself — adds depth to the heat. Roy’s backstory, hinted at in earlier books, finally comes to light and adds even more weight to his character.

A captivating, sexy, and suspenseful read that keeps you hooked to the last page. Fans of the series will love this instalment, and newcomers will be drawn into the world instantly.

I was gifted an ARC of this book and voluntarily left a review.

Brooke hope to become a CPA. She just took her exam and is asked to step in for her boss during an emergency. As the meeting progresses, red flags start to appear that she might be participating in money laundering. As Brooke excuses herself, she makes a run for it. And runs directly into Roy. Roy and his wolf are damaged from being confined while in the military. Roy instantly knows Brooke is his mate. Deciding to do anything to keep her safe, he hides her in his hotel room. When they are attacked trying to leave the hotel, Roy's alpha nature takes over. As they hide out, their attraction grows and have several intimate encounters. Brooke, fearing she is being like her mother runs home and runs right into the men looking for her. Roy once again must protect her at all cost. When the FBI suggests, Brooke coping the files from her job she agrees against Roy's objections. While coping the files, the police arrive and arrest Roy for breaking and entering. Brooke understanding the severity of the situation, gets Roy released with the help of the FBI. Being in a cell, has damaged Roy and needs to release his wolf. While in the wilderness, Brooke finds out Roy is not fully human. When Brooke's friend returns and tells her about Roy's military past, she "runs away again". Losing his mate is the worse thing to happen to a wolf. Even though being in the city is harsh on Roy, he stays to keep watch over his mate. Overall, this was a fast read, I did find myself frustrated with Brooke. I cannot wait for the next installment.

Unleashed is the kind of Wolf Ranch installment that leans fully into what this series does best, but also made me realize I was craving a little more bite beneath the heat this time around.

Brooke gets thrown straight into chaos when what was supposed to be a simple professional favor for her boss spirals into something far darker. One minute she is in a high-rise meeting with powerful men and red flags flaring everywhere, and the next she is realizing she may have just stepped into something illegal, dangerous, and very much life or death. So she runs. And in true fate has other plans fashion, she runs directly into Roy.

And Roy Banner does what a wolf shifter does best. He claims, protects, and reacts first, thinks later. From the moment he finds Brooke, everything in him clicks into place. Mate. Human or not, fate has already decided. What follows is a rapid-fire chain of events involving hiding, pursuit, violence, and a whole lot of instinct driven connection as Roy tries to keep her alive while Brooke tries to figure out if she has just jumped from danger into something even more consuming.

The romance here is very physical, very immediate, and very instinct-led. Which is pretty par for the course in this series And while that is absolutely in line with this world, I will say I missed a bit more of the emotional or psychological build between them. There is chemistry, no question. But I wanted more space for it to deepen beyond the pull and the heat. At times it felt like Roy’s grounding force was less about Brooke as a person and more about what she triggered in him physically and instinctually, which made their bond feel a little one note compared to some of the more layered pairings in the series.

Brooke’s storyline also adds an interesting layer. She is caught between fear, self-doubt, and the shadow of her mother’s unstable relationship history, which constantly makes her question what she is feeling versus what she should trust. That internal conflict had real potential, especially as she is pulled between Roy’s world and her own instincts to run. But I kept waiting for it to dig a little deeper emotionally or thematically, and it never quite fully got there for me.

That said, there are still elements that absolutely worked. The suspense thread around money laundering, the criminal entanglement, and the FBI involvement gave the story momentum and stakes beyond just the romance. Roy’s past and trauma also add texture to his protective nature, and I did appreciate seeing how both characters are shaped by their histories, even if I wanted more exploration of that foundation.

The pacing is fast, almost breathless at times, which makes this a very easy read to fall into. It is steamy, instinctual, and very much in the lane of mates first, questions later. Fans of the series will likely already know what flavor to expect here, and in that sense it absolutely delivers on the established formula.

I did find myself enjoying it in the moment, but my feelings settled to more a this was fine, I enjoyed it, but I wanted more substance vibe. But pretty fun and hella spicy, so delivers on what this series is known for.

What to expect:
🐺 Wolf shifter
🐺fated mates
🐺 Insta-attraction, high heat
🐺 FMC on the run
🐺 forced proximity
🐺Criminal investigation / money laundering subplot
🐺Protective alpha hero
🐺 Trauma and past baggage
🐺 Mates bond instinct vs emotional development
🐺BDSM-light

A simply captivating addition to series, Roy and Brooke are wonderful characters
This was a simply fantastic addition to the series of Wolf Ranch; Roy is living in times when it is extremely dangerous for anyone outside your group to discover that you are able to shift into any other kind of animal especially one as strong and fierce as a male wolf.
Roy has been looking for his mate for a long time and knows that fate will lend a hand in him finding her if it is meant to happen, he knows that if it does, he will ensure that she is kept safe and protected at all times along with any offspring they might have.
Then one day Brooke who had been trying to help her boss has fallen in to a risky situation and is running when she actually falls into Roys arms and he instantly knows that she is the mate that he has waited so long for. Although Roy had known instantly that Brooke was his mate it had taken her a little longer to realise, however once she did there was no doubt in their hearts or minds.
This was a truly enjoyable read that kept me captivated right to the last page and I am sure that other readers will be as captivated as I was.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Unleashed is a wild ride of an insta-love story, but I had a blast reading it! Rose and Vale have a grand time with a wolf-shifter hero who’s just this side of feral as his general state of being. Roy acts first and thinks about the consequences later. And when you combine that with meeting his mate and then discovering the danger his mate is in…well, the roller coaster has taken off and you’re along for the ride!

I liked how rooted and practical Brooke is compared to the instinctive nature that envelops Roy. Both of them have demons in their past that drive their present actions and positions, and Rose and Vale do a great job of gradually introducing those. I also really liked some of the supporting characters, particularly the shifter Mark playing a balanced role between Roy and Brooke.

The villains are two-dimensional; they’re here to drive the relationship between Brooke and Roy, not to serve as individual characters. But that didn’t stop this story from flying along, assisted by Rose and Vale’s patented glorious sensual scenes. I gulped Unleashed down in one big long swig, and I loved the crazy ride it took me on.

Brooke ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time. She's a junior accountant filling in for her boss who was injured. She doesn't realize that the client is a mob boss laundering money through a bowling alley. Anywho... she figures it out too late and tries to run. She runs right into a giant lumberjack looking dude who turns out to be her fated mate. She doesn't know this because she's human. Shenanigans ensue from there.

This is Roy's story. I had to go back and see who he was. He's the brother of the MMC (Boone) in the last book. It's getting kinda hard to keep everyone together in my brain.

Brooke dips off into TSTL territory a few times. Like leaving the penthouse without Roy to go home. Like the mob boss won't know where she lives. I loved Roy. He's a big teddy bear (wolf) that will do anything for his mate. He kills 4 people for her. Granted they're mob people but still. It's not until his past is revealed that Brooke decides (with the help of her meddling friend) that he's too dangerous. Like gimme a break..

I liked this addition to the Wolf Ranch books even though this one takes place 99% of the time in Denver.

Roy was a master craftsman wolf shifter who was former Marine and best in open, less populated areas, but when he had to attend a trade show in Denver, his brother Boone rented him a penthouse suite at the Four Seasons...Brooke was an accountant who took her CPA test but hadn't heard results yet, but when her boss was hit by a truck on way to meet clients at the Four Seasons, she went in his place...but the clients weren't what she expected, obviously thugs or mob and Brooke sure was money laundering...she was f**ked, prison, no CPA, so she fled...just as Roy coming down hall...one whiff, he knew she was his fated mate and he took her into his suite...but was she endangering this handsome stranger??? You will need to read this delightful tale of a city gal who dreamed of security with a boring job and a wolf-shifter determined to stay in her life, even if it killed him...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

I adore this series. Unleashed is another great addition.
This is Roy’s story and his fated mate Brooke.
Roy is in Denver for a furniture exhibit and can’t wait to leave and get back to the open fields of Montana. His PTSD and anxiety is kicking in and he wants to go home sooner rather than later.
Stepping out of his hotel room brings him a chance encounter with his fated mate.
But of course nothing good comes easily.
Roy has to keep Brooke safe from unsavory people. Has to rein in his wolf from claiming her.
Has to easy her into his life and what he is. And has to convince a total city gal country life is better.
His “has to” list keeps getting complicated by the moment, lol.
Their story is entertaining and sexy as sin.
Throw in bad men shenanigans, some suspense and drama and I was all set for a delicious story.
Enjoyed Unleashed with my favorite drink and I was in bliss.

Mystery. Suspense. Fate.

I am relatively new to shifter romance and this was a good read for me.

The story is laced with mystery, secrets, insta-love and a very protective wolf shifter with some light BDSM.
Roy is a protective man and instantly recognises his connection with Brooke as fate, even if she doesn’t realise the gravity of what that means for him. He has an innate need to protect her from the danger she’s haphazardly found herself in.

Brook is passionate and adventurous in love, but has self-doubts when it comes to following her gut instincts due to her mother’s past with relationships and bad decisions. Is what she feels for Roy real or infatuation and will fate win?

If you love shifter romance with a protective hero, heroine in distress, insta-love and suspense, you’ll enjoy this read.

It's hard to believe that this is book #11 in the Wolf Ranch series. While they can be read as a stand-alone book, I do recommend reading them in order. Although each story does have an ending and there are no cliff-hangers. In this paranormal romance, Roy recognizes his fated mate immediately when he rescues her from danger. She accidentally got involved with a money laundering operation with the mafia. Unfortunately, as a human, Brooke doesn't understand the idea of fated mates, let alone the world of shifters. She is just looking for a normal, safe, predictable life. And being with Roy is anything but predictable! A wolf shifter with PTSD issues that needs open space and a city girl, what a combination.
This was a steamy paranormal romance with plenty of heat and suspense. Looking forward to more from these two authors!

Brooke wanted a boring and safe life. She wanted to be an accountant, own her own place, and just exist. No surprises. No man to mess with her schedule or routine. While on an assignment, she runs into and then away from trouble and straight into the arms of a man. But, not just any man. Her mate. He senses it right away. Convincing her, a human, of this will be the ultimate challenge for Roy and he is definitely up to the task.
I would rate this story as five out of five stars for both the plot and the spice. The building tension between the characters is top tier. I recommend this novel for mature audiences only due to sexual content and spice. This is a definite page turner. I read the story in two days.
I received this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The eleventh book of the Wolf Ranch series brings the story of Brooke and Roy front and center. Brooke is a budding new CPA looking to advance in her career. Roy is the visiting wolf to the Denver pack. Brooke is in Denver for a meeting to bring Burke’s Bowling to her firm. Roy is visiting Denver to show off his carpenter skills at the home show in town. When Brooke is running from the mob enforcer from the deal she runs into Roy. He takes her into his hotel suite and under his protection. Just what his wolf wants. What his wolf sees as his fated mate. This starts a fake boyfriend to mate trope that does not let you go from the first page. Does Roy find his mate in her? Does Brooke let him in her heart

Roy and Brooke

Brooke thought she had a boring life just being an accountant until she found herself unwillingly involved in money laundering. as she ran for her life. Who did she run into? But a wolf shifter who surprisingly turned out to be her mate Roy. But Brooke didn’t know that yet. although Roy did after one sniff of her scent. His wolf knew their mate had just run into his arms. this was book 11 in the Wolfe shifter series and I love every single one of their stories, especially when the wolf shifter finds out a human is his mate. I love how Roy had to work to convince her that She is not like her mother and her instincts are spot on with them as a couple. I enjoyed how he convinces her to be a part of his life. They’re happily ever after is very satisfying.

OMG another GREAT addition to the Wolf Ranch series. But also works as a great standalone--you don't need to have read the rest. Brooke is an accountant and covering for her boss at a business meeting in the penthouse at the Four Seasons. But the vibes from the meeting are not great so as soon as her job is done she excuses herself to use the rest room and runs--right into Roy and his room as she is being followed. From there the tale becomes an emotional, hot roller coaster that I could not put down. Read this in record time. No spoilers here, but this hot sexy ready is one to get and enjoy!

I'm always thrilled and excited to return to Wolf Ranch and Roy and Brooke's romance was another wonderful addition to it. I thought Roy was super swoony and definitely "Grade A" Book Boyfriend material. He had me loving him right from the start and that never changed. As for Brooke, I really liked her except when I didn't. I mean I really tried to reason with some of her choices and actions, and I really couldn't make sense to me. However, even being a bit frustrated and annoyed with her couldn't stop me from loving this couple with my whole heart. A solid pulse-racer and heartstring tugger.

I just love this series so much so was super exited to another book in this world and series.

The story is fast paced filled with adventure, action, danger and sllot of drama, not to mention the delicious spice.

It’s a fated mates story mixed with a human, can it get any better than that?

a dominant and protective wolf shifter, and secrets. From the moment Brooke runs to Roy, and he holds her, smells her, he knows she is his fated mate, but she is also human. So is it adrenaline that she is feeling or chemistry that has her and Roy tangled in the sheets? Is she even safe with him?

Dig in this delicious story to find out more 😉

Unleashed is another great story in the Wolf Ranch series. Brooke is a human woman in danger who, literally, runs straight into the arms of her fated mate, a wolf shifter named Roy. Of course, she is completely in the dark about shifters and fated mates and it's up to Roy to not only protect her but to convince her that they belong together. Brooke and Roy's steamy story is an engaging read with likable characters, a lot of heart, and never a dull moment. I loved it!

This was a total vibe, I had the absolute best time reading this one.

I'd been on a bit of a fantasy binge, and this beauty ended up being the perfect palate cleanser. It's fast-paced, fun, ridiculously easy to fly through, and packed with all the good stuff: insta-love, a possessive MMC, and enough chemistry to keep me glued to the page.

What I definitely wasn't expecting was discovering there are ten other books in this series. So, naturally, guess who's about to go back and read every single one? Because if they're anything like this, I'm in for a very good time.

4.25 Stars!

An overly obsessed and possessive cowboy werewolf!? YES PLEASE.

This book brings the heat! And so many swoony, kicking-my-feet moments that gave me butterflies. Especially when he says "good girl."

This is a fast paced, he falls hard and fast wolf shifter romance where he's a wolf shifter and she's a human completely unaware of wolf shifters. There is something about a shifter romance when one character is a human that slaps and is my FAVORITE. And this book is delicious, interesting and intriguing. Renee and Vanessa know how to write one helluva story every single time.

Wolf Ranch Unleashed by Renee Rose is the story of Roy and Brooke. She’s an accountant, studying for her CPA. While meeting with a shady client at a hotel, she felt in danger and ran. Another person in the hotel, Roy, helped. But, she’s still in danger. They want her gone. Roy is her only hope. Though, Roy has his own secrets and dangers to deal with….

Loved this story!!! Roy is deliciously protective and caring. Brooke is frightened, but has strong morals. So much happens here…it’s a wonderful read!!

I really enjoyed unleashed, it’s a fast paced, quick read, packed with action, spice and fast paced drama. The Wolf ranch series is all about fated mates and insta love - at least on the guys side. I’ve only read a few of the books in the series but I am a sucker for a human x shifter fated mates trope, particularly when the human doesn’t know about shifters and unleashed definitely delivers on that trope!

A great addition to the series and i can’t wait to read more from the series!.

"She was running from me. My. Mate. Was. Running. From me!"

Book eleven in the fantastic Wolf Ranch series gives us Boone's baby brother Roy, who bumps into his human mate as she's running for her life at the Denver Four Seasons. Seems his mate, Brook, is a city girl. Unusual mate for a wolf who gets claustrophobic being in a city.

I liked Roy. He's very different from Boone and he had a difficult past. I initially really liked Brooke but after awhile I got annoyed with her constantly changing her mind. Fortunately in the end everything works out. I assume the final brother, Ace, will be next. I love this series and am happy to continue with it.

Never run from fate…
Brooke’s boss asked her to fill in for him at an important client meeting. Once there, she realized how dangerous the situation was and decided to make a run for it. She ran right into Roy who protected her against the bad guys. Brooke started to second guess her instincts and wondered if maybe Roy wasn’t the good guy after all… I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
