Dr. Grant Cross is the hot, grumpy surgeon who makes my job hell… and my first client as a brand-new escort.
I can get along with anyone—except him. One of the most prominent pediatric plastic surgeons in the country, he terrifies the other residents, the nurses despise him, and his bedside manner sucks.
I want nothing to do with him.
When he puts me on retainer to sleep with him and only him, though, the money is too good to pass up. The deal is simple: I sleep with him, he pays me, and neither of us get feelings.
Sleeping with Grant is surprisingly fun and intimate, and with his pediatric fellowship at risk due to his lack of interpersonal skills, I vow to teach Grant how to be more likable, and see a whole new side of him.
Stephanie writes spicy, hilarious rom-coms. Her books feature sharp banter, stubborn women, lots of laughs, and guaranteed HEA’s. She lives in Vancouver, Canada.
She's an "escort" but he pays for sex 🤨🤔 sounds like prostitution 🙂↕️ and since when is it right to write about it (romantically)? Why would you fall in love with someone who pays you for sex?
What on earth has happened to my used to be favorite authors this year?! The last two books in Vancouver Storm were so mid. With a weird don’t let the woman finish during first sex scene fetish in BOTH. And now we have a SINGLE POV (ew) novel about a doctor who’s also an … escort. And the hero is the kind of man who pays a woman for sex? Literally we are almost halfway through 2026 and I’m just sad at the current reading choices my favs have been producing. Maybe I just need to give up and stop reading.
Omg, new Stephanie Archer favorite coming in hot!!!!!! 🚨 🚨🚨 Linden and Grant are perfection and I read their story in less than 12 hours.
Let’s start by saying, while these two get together via an escort app, these two only had eyes for each other and it was very classy meeting. Linden is a bad-ass anesthesiology resident who is friends with everyone she meets while Grant is the most hated pediatric plastic surgeon in their hospital. What starts as dislike on both ends (or so we thought 😮💨) turns into such a genuine connection that gave me butterflies. Linden is trying to smile through feeling lonely when always surrounded by friends and Grant is truly misunderstood. Grant is SUCH a softie who shows his love through acts of service and I am obsessed with him!!!!!!!
I think my issue is that the escort/paying for services part of the book went on too long and interfered with these two expressing their feelings but overall, such a good book!!!
Even though I designed this cover, I’m still rating the book because I had such a good time!! I loved Grant and Linden. He fell first and super duper hard and that’s what I want to see!! I was a little suspect of an MMC who would sign up for an app like this, but it all makes sense in the end folks. I would read 100 more pages of them. I’m ready for a possible sequel with a certain icy blonde doctor??
This was so close to being a 5 star read. That was thrown in for funsies and it wasn’t bloody funsies in my eyes. I kind of get why it made sense for Linden to do it but it just annoyed me sorry.
So we ignore that and overall I had a great time. This was so much fun!! I loved grumpy Grant. I really liked that certain scene with Molly it really tugged at my heartstrings. Clara, Cooper and Eli were great additions. I’m not sure if it’s a standalone but a Cooper book would slap👀 For personal preference, as much as I had fun I would have loved more of the hospital setting and patients but due to the nature of the book I can understand why it wouldn’t go that way. Linden was such a good FMC and I loved seeing her grow into herself!! Their chemistry was great, had me smiling quite a lot. I was hooked pretty much straight away and read it very quickly, will definitely be recommending Bedside Manner to everyone! I’m very intrigued to see everyone else’s reviews as well…
Also I know there’s been a lot of TV adaptations but I think this would make such a fun film!
Thank you very much for the arc of one of my most anticipated releases this year!!
This was my most anticipated read of the year and I read it in less than 24 hours. I will never get over Stephanie Archer’s writing and how well done it is. The banter, the angst, the yearning, the pure adoration??? Nothing could be better. When I first read the blurb it sounded like Yours Truly x Change of Heart (Kate Canterbury) but after reading I would add Kiss Quotient to that. All three of those books are all time favorites and I loveee that this book gave me that feeling!!! I also think the MMC was autistic coded in a way and I know y’all know I love that.
Pretty Woman meets The Pitt. I absolutely adored this book and I think Stephanie did an amazing job handling the elephant in the room. Consent was a main character in this book.
Romanticizing prostitution on 2026? After Trump and everything related to Epstein files still being a global issue? I am sorry but you can’t hide PATRIARCHY under a cute cover. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
I am a sucker for stories that start as mere transactional, or for science, or simple lessons sex, then some huge angst and missed communication like "i want other than sex" happens.
I hope the angst part will be properly delivered and i will excuse the escort bit (if they are colleagues, this doesnt make much sense. And i would prefer her not to be broke or something but just a curious and eager nave scuola).
