Story didn’t make any sense- it may not be bad- I just didn’t like it.
H: Mikhail Artyomov h: Sophia Moretti (22yrs old) Sophia, a college student, is currently paying for her father's sins. Her father and 3 other of his men broke into Mikhail looking for money and R*ped Mikhail 16yr old sister (Nicole) who later k*lled herself. Now Mikhail is making Sophia his wife and taking her freedom as a form of revenge (he already k*lled her dad). So, he forces her to marry him and then be her prisoner but is able to wonder throughout the house, she just can't leave the house. I think this story would be better if he didn't k*ll her dad and that instead of her dad being a nobody (I guess) that he would also be the boss of his bratva/mafia thing. Because if makes no sense to kidnap his daughter and pretty much make her act as his wife, he doesn't starve her, doesn't lock her somewhere.. now he keeps her in his bedroom and she lives with him; all he uses is words but doesn't actually treat her bad. I stopped at pg. 57 (12%) of the story, I just couldn't get into it, not saying is bad it's just doesn't make sense to me. **since I didn’t finish it, I’ll give it a 3 stars**
What happens when a forced marriage turns into so much more?
Sophia Moretti is a college student then it's all taken away in a blink of an eye when she's kidnapped from campus. Mafia boss Mikhail Artyomov has taken her for revenge for the sins of her father and forces into marriage.
This is a captivating well written enemies to lovers romance that shows what happens when a forced marriage turns into so much more. It's one of undeniable attraction, betrayal, manipulation, vengeance and murder. It's about how they come together after many trials and tribulations to work to strengthen their family and organization. While he's the bruit force she researches for weaknesses and vulnerabilities to use as leverage. Together they become a force to be reckoned with.

Mikhail has to be hands down the most ruthless and domineering Pakhan I've ever read. You can feel his intimidation coming off the pages as he not only forces Sophia to marry him, but also to share his bed. He's out for revenge and she's his prisoner; their connection is pure hatred that quickly turns to devotion. As time goes on, we start to see the true man he is and you can't help but fall for him just like Sophia. The high-stakes suspense, shocking betrayal, and steamy hot moments had me on the edge of my seat. This book pushed boundaries and had surprising twists and turns, making it impossible to put down.

Mikhail is a very dominant and unrelenting man. He kidnaps Sophia from her college campus and forces her to marry him, to get back at her father. He’s cold, uncaring, strips her of everything. Sophia wants nothing to do with him. She watches and looks for act weaknesses so she can use them against him. But as time goes on they start to connect, to grow and bond. They went from enemies to lovers. There were explosive, a force to be reckoned with. I loved seeing Sophia grow and find herself. See how these two grew together and built a powerful empire. This was amazing. Danger, chaos, love and devotion. Power and so much more. This was one of the best stories I’ve ever read.
The book started out good the author's writing drew me in. However I got really disgusted with the characters. The MMC Force the MFC to marry him and then showed her pictures of her father that he murdered. What really nauseated me it wasn't even 2 days and she melts for him when he touches her. A cat in heat has more dignity than that. I lost interest after that and started scrolling. This book went down the rabbit hole pretty fast no Mafia man would use his wife as bait and let her walk into a trap. I tried to re-engage but the situations were so unrealistic it was more like a soap opera than a Mafia book so I just gave up.
We go from revenge to other really quick for my taste. We get twice almost verbatim the story about why he wants revenge, a bit redundant if you ask me. They keep telling the same stories like we don’t remember from a few pages ago. So many twists and turns. So much drama. Like each chapter ends in a cliffhanger and begins like a telenovela! Also, he is not a morally grey hero. The age difference is over even though he is like 20+ older.
Mikhail kidnaps Sophia as revenge and vows to break her. While their animosity for each other starts off strong what develops is a complex relationship filled with love. The danger and suspense within the plot blended well with its twists and turns that added a layer of excitement. It was an entertaining read!.

The author has given us an older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Sophia and Mikhail. The darker story keeps us turning the pages with a forced marriage, the need for vengeance, danger, betrayal and steam.

Arc review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. When Sophia is kidnapped from collage she never thought she be caught up in betrayal and revenge.
Could have been 1/3 shorter and made better impact. I ended up skimming the last 40 pages or so of the book because it kept on like a soap opera or telenovela.
