In the end we’re all from the streets…
Okay no, I’ll write a serious review on this book (or essay, that’s how the writer himself calls it). I really like the theory given. It’s clear he’s passionate about what he’s writing. I read in a review it’s very clear from chapter one about what the book is going for, if you work with youth already. Which results in a circle of repeating. I agree and disagree. I work with youth and the theme is already known to me, but it was still interesting to read about it from an other perspective. Street culture got explained very well instead of the usual shallow depiction of it being toxic.
Instead it’s talking about the mismatch. Which is a result of teachers vs youth, a more stereotypical approach of masculine vs feminine.
