I do not know much about Korean history at all, so I found this extraordinarily interesting. I really enjoyed learning more about Korean history, culture, and philosophy and look forward to reading more in the series. The only drawback is the occasional formatting issues with the footnotes. But! Definitely worth the read, happy to own this.

Everything in the book is very cool, but I question the merit of explaining hongik ingan solely through the perspectives of high class individuals.

This whole series can be summed up in three points:

1. Patriotic to the point of misinformation.
2. Informative when it imagines it`s being boring.
3. Decent when it`s telling a story and not being dramatic.
