Ok, you know a book is good when even the first page has me feeling emotional. The first chapter was so raw, so amazingly descriptive, I could feel everything Mason was feeling.
The rest of the book was just as brilliant. The world building, characters and vivid descriptions of events made me feel like I was there (glad I wasn’t though for some of it, especially the eyeballs!!) Also, I have never disliked a character as much as I dislike Marissa…or Jake…
This book is dark, intense, haunting and laced with some seriously hot spice which will have you questioning all your morals.
I cannot wait to see what happens with Mason and our masked MMC in part 2, especially after that ending!! Cliffhanger is an understatement 😫

First, I need to say a huge thank you to Lucy for choosing me as part of her ARC team - I honestly can’t express how grateful I am.
Since the book isn’t out until May 1st, I’ll keep this spoiler-free (though, to be fair, I usually do anyway). One thing I love about Lucy’s writing is how she walks that fine line between brokenness and rebuilding - between falling apart and finding the strength to stand back up. It’s one of her trademarks, and it shines here too.
Mason (also… is she? 👀), our FMC, comes from a seriously messed-up family. A stepmother I’d gladly erase from existence, a completely useless father, and a brother-ish… creature (honestly, happy to see as little of him as possible - maybe can its stay in Part 2?). They say bad things come in threes, but for Mason? It’s more like dozens. One thing hits after another - she barely has time to breathe before the next avalanche crashes down.
And then there’s our MMC… intriguing is an understatement. We know almost nothing about him, except that he’s unhinged as hell and very, very clever. Not sure if that’s a good combination, but it definitely makes things interesting.
I have my own suspicions about where Part 2 is heading - there were a few details that really caught my attention - but Lucy always finds a way to surprise me, so I’m keeping my theories in check (for now).
As for the ending - some might say “no HEA,” but I wouldn’t go that far. I’d call it a different kind of HEA. Once you read the full story, you’ll get what I mean. Let’s just say… certain things happened exactly the way they were meant to - and my pitch-black soul was very, very satisfied (or maybe I need therapy… who knows).

i thought i had mentally prepared myself for this one, but boy, i did not! this one is dark & twisty. there’s a lot of gore, & it’s kind of unhinged, but in a “i can’t stop reading” kind of way.
the story follows mason, our fmc, who just can’t seem to catch a break (like, for reeeeeal!). she’s being harassed by an ex boyfriend who is an asshole, but ends up getting what he deserves in the end. (sorry not sorry!💁🏻♀️) her family is actual trash, between marissa & her dad, i was so annoyed with those two. her dad has no backbone & marissa is just a (fill in the blank 😉). i couldn’t tell you the amount of times i wanted to punch both of them in the throat 🙄😂
the mmc (we have no idea who he is, but he’s masked up!) is stalking mason for things related in the past. although, she seems to have no clue what he’s talking about. i was there the whole time with my head turning trying to figure out why.. how?!!!! I NEED INFO! 😂 either way, the stalking then turns into a bit of an obsession & protectiveness.
overall. this was such a wild ride! i did enjoy the mystery behind the mmc, as it kept me intrigued & had me trying to figure out who he was the whole time. (note: i got nothing) this book does end on a cliffhanger, so i’ll be impatiently waiting for book 2.
ps. that eyeball scene?! that one got me for sure! definitely won’t be forgetting that any time soon. 🫠

Well another book I’ve been truly hooked into, I need part 2 straight away after that ending!
Poor Mason, our FMC is really going through it. Abusive ex who’s Harassing her, family who couldn’t give a damn about her - especially her step mother Marissa. Now she’s being stalked by a masked man who’s out looking for justice for the wrongs he’s been faced with in his life.
Our Morally black MMC ‘The forgotten’ he’s essentially a ghost - no name, no ties to anywhere, not even the FBI know his identity!
This book was DARK and gritty and a book you get fully immersed in because of how Lucy writes! You go through the motions with the characters and literally feel what they are going through. Lots of gore and definite horror elements and we had Spice aswell 🌶️ please check the trigger warnings!
I loved the element of literally not knowing essentially who was behind the mask.
Literally a touch her and d*e book and even though I knew this was going to end on a cliffhanger it still had me screaming at the end!

ARC Review: This book forst got me at the MASKED MAN! Can't go wrong there!
This was my first time reading a book by Lucy Williams @l.williams_author ! I am so grateful to do an ARC review!
This book was such a great read being one of the first books I've read from her.
The first few lines sucked me right in! This book is more of a horror, dark, twisited and trauma bond.
Reading this book brings you through so many different avenues. The characters life traumas, being in some form of a "cult", hostage, abuse, revenge, mind play, messed up erotic dark thriller and many more. There are some very spicy unhinged scenes in this book.
Imagine having a plan for revenge, stalking the the people who have messed up your whole life and ready to end it. One of those missions turns into a touch her and dịe situation. Remember now all "heroes" wear capes and then could also be red flags/unhinged.
This book definitely has twisted plots and do not have a happy ending.
As you can tell this is just part one of Chase Mase as there is a part two and three coming out soon! I'm excited for the rest of the book to come out to dive into them.

This book!!! So fcking good!!! I love Lucy’s writing!! She takes unhinged to the next level & I am so here for it!!! An erotic thriller/horror that is just *chefs 💋

I flew through part one so fast, but then I saw a post on Instagram hinting at what's coming in part two and now I literally NEED it immediately. 😩
This book hits the ground running right from chapter one. It’s a dark, unhinged thriller packed with intense spice, deep trauma, and a psychological twist that had me questioning my own morals.
Mason just cannot catch a break. Between her trash family Marissa and her dad are infuriating and her ex, she is going through it. Then enters our masked MMC. He starts off stalking her for reasons tied to her past that she doesn't even remember, but that stalking rapidly turns into a dark, obsessive, "touch her and die" vibe.
It’s gory, dark, and wild (that eyeball scene alone will be burned into my brain forever ). And after ending on that massive cliffhanger, waiting for part two is going to be actual torture!
⚠️ Definitely check your trigger warnings before diving in, but if you love dark romance and red flag heroes, this is a must read!

Well that beginning had me hooked and I needed to keep reading to know what happened... 👀 The tension builds quickly, and I found myself emotionally invested in Mason almost right away.
As the story progresses, you get dual POVs, which really help you understand the characters motives. There is also a strong sense of mystery throughout, and the deeper you get, the more you realize not everything is as straightforward as it first seems.
Then there is the tension between the characters you truly feel and how revenge turns to obession, to protection.
Some characters will absolutely get under your skin (in the best and worst ways) 😂 It’s one of those stories where you feel the tension, the anger, and the pull right alongside the characters.
If you like a prey vs hunter vibe with some spice, you should love this one.
I already can't wait for Part Two 📖

Omg! I loved this story!
I couldn't put this down! The characters and the storyline are portrayed perfectly!
Just when you think you're free.. you get dragged back. I was on the edge of my sit since the first sentence! I could not put it down. But when you get spice, the spice was spicing!
The beginning was an emotional chapter, I felt like I was Mason.
That ending! Omg I need the next book asap! Please and thank you 😂😂

From page one, it pulls you straight into chaos, then unravels how everything led to that moment. The pacing keeps you hooked, and the tension doesn’t let up. You feel like you’re right there with the characters caught in the emotions, the mystery, and everything unraveling around them.
Our masked MMC is driven by anger and obsession, fueled by everything he’s lost and what he’s been put through, and it seeps into every moment.

I enjoyed this. This read had me in an almost consistent state of fight or flight. I knew going into this it was going to be a darker read and after reading the first chapter this story had sunk its hooks into me.
I’m very conflicted about The Forgotten. From what I was able to gather from his pov’s, I get why…. But being in Mason’s pov for majority of this story and going through the motions with her. I’m finding it really hard not to…dislike him.
I feel this book scratches the surface of what is still yet to come. I'm really intrigued to read book 2 and see where the story goes.

There I was staring at my kindle pressing for the page to turn, knowing this book was finished but still trying to get the next chapter.
This book is not a love story so please check the triggers!!

A dark and intense read which is gory in parts, and has spicy scenes.
With dual POV to give you more of an understanding of the characters.
You could feel the anger from some of the characters from the writing.
Great writing, very interesting plot.

Book Review!! Chase Mase by L. William!!! Mason is being stalked, people around her are dying, and she has no idea why she’s the target. The deeper you get, the more you realize her past isn’t what she thinks it is. The stalker keeps mentioning a cult, revenge, and secrets that had me questioning everyone. I can’t wait for Part 2!!

As soon as I saw this i knew it it was going to be a good book and it didnt disappoint.
Its completely unhinged, with a MMC you dont know stalking you, targeting you for things in the past and you cant graspe why.
Expect lots of gore, steamy moments and to be hooked on every word!

Honestly, it took me a bit to get into this book. I feel like it was a slowwww burn, but then it got good at the end and now i need part 2 so bad!

📖 Chase Mase by L. Williams
Arrrggghhh this book was so bloody good, it was like a dark and delicious twisty ride, steeped a mysterious cloud.
Mason has left her arsehole of an ex, her step mum is the biggest nobhead ever, her dad just wants to do anything to keep the peace with his wife instead of growing a back bone. So many times I wanted to jump into my kindle and backhand her step mum. Her character presents as one thing but there is a really unsettleing undercurrent of 'all isn't what it seems' with her. I felt so sorry for her a few times in part one and can not wait to see how her character evolves in part two.
The forgotten - now he is a mystery, we don't know his name, just that there is a list and he is crossing names off of it. He is clearly a character who starts of being strong in his mission. Chapter 5 was genius, I read it through my fingers all the gore I couldn’t help but want more ha. All I know is he is brutally relentless in his mission and just as those lines start to blur he isn't afraid to kick it back into action.
The last 2 chapters of this book had my heart pumping and I was sat in sheer disbelieve that L.Williams ended it where she did. I found myself tapping my kindle hoping, praying that there were more pages ha.
I really enjoyed this book and can not wait to read part two.

Chase Mase Part 1 by L. Williams follows Mason (Mase) our FMC, her dad doesn’t bother with her, her stepmum, Marissa is vile to her and she is being harassed by her abusive ex that she broke up with.
Things start to take a turn for the worse when some strange start happening, some flowers turning up to her house, that freaks out her parents and getting chased by a masked man with a weapon.
This book is totally gripping and I can’t get enough! This book is dark and dangerous and I need more, I am so excited for part 2. There were so many twists and turns and so many questions that I need answers to! Please check your triggers before reading as this is unhinged and has some depraved spicy scenes. If you like it dark then I would highly recommend this!

L.Williams has done it again!
I absolutely loved part one of this book, I felt it built a lot of tension with the characters but left me with a million questions which in turn leaves me NEEDING part two! 🤣🤣
Another set of utterly unhinged characters and I’m here for it.
