Set in the intoxicating world of 1990s New York fashion, The Model is a gripping psychological thriller about ambition, betrayal, and obsession. When supermodel Ewa Antol mysteriously vanishes at the height of her career, her childhood friend Marki becomes determined to uncover the truth behind her disappearance.
Set against the glamorous backdrop of 90s fashion—where beauty is the only currency and seventeen-year-old models earn $100,000 per day—this twisting narrative follows Marki's dangerous journey through the dark underbelly of the fashion industry. From the glittering runways of Paris to the exclusive circles of New York's elite, she will risk everything to expose the secrets that led to Ewa's disappearance.
I don’t know what happened but partially through the book it’s like the author and narrator both forgot what was happening. Talking like teenagers, detailed sex scenes (I’m no prude, just don’t see the point when it gives nothing to the story). I was waiting for the whole world to explode at the end

Did this on audio and saw some bad reviews beforehand but don’t agree with them at all. Interesting plot, loved the backstory, the characters were believable The only thing I would say it’s not really a thriller more a mystery but I still enjoyed it.
I finished it and was not satisfied with the ending. Seriously it is as if the author just got tired and stopped writing. I felt as if it was the middle of the story not the ending.
Free on audible. Pretty realistic. Interesting insight into fashion in the 90s but would’ve preferred a bit more detail on that to be honest. Good for a free one.
