I really wanted to enjoy this one more than I did. The opening drew me in, and I genuinely enjoyed the friendship between Kait and her best friend, which felt like one of the most authentic relationships in the story.

I was happy to embrace the supernatural element of the plot, but I struggled with how it was incorporated into the investigation. The detectives seemed to jump from theories to conclusions without enough evidence or investigative groundwork, and I never quite felt convinced by the process that led them to identify the murderer.

I also found some of the historical dream sequences difficult to distinguish from the present-day narrative, and the romantic storyline didn’t quite deliver the emotional impact I think it was aiming for.

There were some enjoyable ideas here, and I didn’t dislike the eventual twist, but ultimately I needed more convincing storytelling and a stronger sense of a properly worked-through murder investigation.

I haven’t read the previous books in this series, so maybe having them under your belt would be an advantage.

I've read the first book in this series but somehow missed the second one, so it was lovely to get back to Kaitlyn Kruse and Joe Riley for book three. I needn't have worried about picking things up out of order though – these work brilliantly as standalones, even if I've no doubt missed a great read in the process.

The case itself grabbed me immediately: a prominent Seattle judge assassinated in his sleep, leaving his pregnant wife a widow, and a suspect list that just keeps growing. Was it the man who'd stabbed a previous victim thirty times and sent the judge death threats? A tech company run by moguls with tempers ready to blow? Or an apple grower out in the Wenatchee Valley, desperate enough to save his business to do anything? I was fully immersed from the first page and ended up devouring the whole thing in a day.

I do love a supernatural element in a book, though it's a fine line – done badly it can ruin a story completely. Here it works wonderfully. Kaitlyn's gift lets her slip into her past lives through her dreams, meeting past versions of herself and the people tied to them, who hand her clues she then has to work out how to place into her current case. It adds a whole extra layer to the plot.

Kaitlyn and Joe are terrific characters in their own right, but it's their dynamic and working relationship that really makes this series for me. The reveal completely floored me – I never saw it coming – and it made for a fantastic finish to an already gripping read. Can't wait for the next instalment.

Blinding Insight is book #3 in the Kaitlyn Kruse series, but the good news is that it can be completely read as a standalone!

This one grabbed my attention pretty quickly, and before I knew it, I was turning the pages faster and faster. Once I started, I was hooked!

I really enjoyed the supernatural element woven into the story. It’s subtle and never feels overwhelming, but I thought it added something really unique and intriguing to the overall concept.

The investigation was definitely one of my favorite parts. Exploring memories from past lives and seeing how Kaitlyn incorporates those memories into her investigation was such a fascinating concept. I loved watching her piece everything together and figure out what could actually help her uncover the truth.

It’s an intriguing, suspenseful read with a unique twist that kept me curious throughout. I really enjoyed this one, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where Kaitlyn’s story goes next!

A Spectacular Third Book in the Insight Series.

The third book in Karoline Anderson’s, Kaitlyn Kruse Insight series, continues to deliver. I personally feel this is the best of her works thus far, and is wonderful addition to her prior two novels.

This page turner starts with the murder of a prominent Seattle judge. Kaitlyn and her partner, Joe Riley, with their “jestfull” humor, face a case full of suspects and surprises.

Kari masterfully develops a fast-paced suspenseful story, while adding a new twist to Kaitlyn’s supernatural gift: what happens when she can’t be sure her visions are leading her in the right direction?

The blend of mystery, crime-solving, and a touch of paranormal insight makes Blinding Insight a spectacular page-turner.

The final reveal took me completely by surprise.

Blinding Insight by Karoline Anderson was an intriguing read that pulled me in with its blend of mystery, tension and unexpected twists.

I particularly enjoyed the way the story gradually unfolded, revealing little pieces of the bigger picture and keeping me guessing along the way.

The characters felt believable, and there was enough suspense to keep me turning the pages to see where everything was heading.

I did find the pacing a little uneven in places, which stopped it being a five-star read for me, but overall I really enjoyed the experience.

A compelling story that kept me thinking. Definitely one for readers who enjoy a good mystery with a few surprises along the way.

Having read the first book in this series, I was thrilled to be invited to read book #3, Blinding Insight. I'm a fan of reading series in order but this was easy to read on it's own. Of course, I'm going back and reading the second one now! As an aside, I live in the Seattle area so it's fun to read a book with local references.

Kaitlyn and Joe are called to the murder of a prominent Seattle judge and in the course of their investigation, the threads of discovery lead them in several directions I didn't see coming. Kaitlyn's past lives surface through her dreams that add a richness to this book, both intriguing and complex - certainly a unique take on investigative work! The characters are fascinating, well-developed and I'm really looking forward to more in this series.

I thought this was really cool. I was intrigued by the description sort of Law & Order with just a pinch of Supernatural. The story did not disappoint. This is book three so while it does mostly stand alone there is a bit of character backstory that I missed. However it didn’t distract from my enjoyment. I thought Kaitlyn and Joe were a great pair to lead the investigation and drive the story. It was fun to read. A great mystery and just that little bit of extra with I guess it would qualify under psychic powers. Definitely will be going back and checking out the prior two books! This is my first time reading this author but it was a very pleasant surprise. Fast paced and a mystery that kept you guessing. I really like the lead character. The past lives were interesting and I liked the way they worked into present day.

Murder of a prominent judge sends them down a rabbit hole of evidence.

“A pro. Quick. Simple. Deadly. Thought of every detail,”

Little bit of romance but I wouldn’t call this that at all.

“I need that, Kaitlyn. If I say I can be with you without a change, I’d be lying.

The conclusion was totally different than I expected that’s for sure.

The detective part of this story was fine but there was to much repetitiveness in this book.

Kaitlyn tackles her partner and her boyfriend in the dark. Why was that used twice in this book.
When she goes running the description of how it makes her feel is almost the same sentence both times.
The flashback to the lunch note. That entire section was lunch, note, lunch, note, lunch, note. Synonyms desperately needed to be used for these words.
