Ice Planet Barbarians Part 1: Stolen

You'd think being abducted by aliens would be the worst thing that could happen to me. And you'd be wrong. Because now, the aliens are having ship trouble, and they've left their cargo of human women - including me - on an ice planet.

And the only native inhabitant I've met? He's big, horned, blue, and really, really has a thing for me...

This is a Review of The Complete Ice Planet Barbarians Book:

Actual Rating 3.5

I had fun reading this. It was silly but thoroughly enjoyable.
It's very short so I swallowed it up in one go.

I'll keep reading this series, sometimes we need silly in or lives.

Hoooooot, but the minus side...or rather the one I was struggling with, just a bit; was the fact that their body differences were reminding me a lot of a mix between Alien(The real movie, like Sigourney Weaver going nuts and meeting the queen...yeah that one) and Avatar ( given that they're blue, even though blue is my favorite color...not a clue why all the aliens and cyborgs are going with that color skin so far. XD)

So I was picturing like a mix of Thundercats(haha, and I wasn't even a fan of it XD)

The good thing is that, I didn't have to focus on it , a lot...'cause I was much focused in the plot and the good parts, so yeah ! not actually a huge problem.

This one was one of those books , I can't seem to put down, 'cause seriously? I was really dying to know what the ...was gonna happen with both of them, 'cause, hello? she was facing death in her near immediate future.

So? a VERY good book
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, here’s the thing a group of girls has been stolen from planet earth for tiny, awful green men and they pretend to sell them to the best bid in a foreign planet, but luckily everything goes wrong and they crash into an antartic planet where they’ll have to go all survivor mode in order to make another day. And here’s where everything changes

GEORGIE
Somehow she happens to be the leader of the group of girls and the one with the assignment to go get help in a unknown planet, so she’ll play from damsel in distress to a seductive vixen in order to get it.

VEKTAL
A big, blue, lion-like, with tail and horns, (Kind of handsome , I guess) alien that goes into his own hunting while waiting during all his life to find his mate, the thing is that he doesn’t find her by himself but due to a little organism that lives inside of him, that happens to just know that the woman is his mate…so figure his surprise when he comes to find a soft tiny creature hanging from his trap.
And things go like this:

SHE-------------------------------------------------------------HE
Useless communication, but sign communication

She just knows that the guy----------------------------His little ---------------------------------------------------------minion knows that she ------------------------------------------------is his mate
makes her feel pleasure like no other

+ SEX

description

Uses it like a weapon to get him to help her----------His tactic to -----------------------------------------------------let her know she is HIS-------------------------------------------------- mate

description

description

(ME if anyone asked)
I’m like, hello? The dude has horns, mane, tail and 4 fingers!!!!
Yuhu?, ringing anything to anyone?!!

description

So she does get his help, she gets to know his people, where he happens to be their chief, and the guys all go like
description

‘cause they see HUMAN+FEMALE=POSSIBLE MATE, so, of course they’re gonna be more than thrill to help them!!, while Georgie goes like:

“Wait, what? This isn’t open season on human ladies!”

So they all go crazy, horny crazy, I mean, at least the soon to be mated ones…

“He just asked if you want to mate here,”Kira says, voice full of disbelief.
“Oh shit,”Liz says. “That’s what held her up. Alien nookie.”
My face feels flaming hot. I jerk my hands back.
“Here we are far enough away that when they hear you scream with pleasure, they will not think to come and rescue you.”

aww , how thoughtful, hahaha!

But seriously, if you ask me… that was a great reading, I couldn’t let the book down!
I’ve read a bunch of alien romances and all that, but what was fresh for me was, that these guys weren’t and advanced race, rather a one to be civilian at its best… so how they try to communicate at each other, to feed each other… to survive…that was great ‘cause it actually made me feel like they really were in another planet, not in some sort of matrix-state o anything like that, where everything goes just right!

Note to self:
Marking this as read for my readers challenge. I just did a re-read of Barbarians prize, I already read it this year so it took it off my book count for this year when I re-read it.

I read this as a serial on Kindle Unlimited. Thank you, author, for very clearly identifying that each book is part of a series and how often to expect the next installment. Cliffhangers not advertised as such tend to annoy me, even if I liked the book. This is a review that I am posting on both Part 1 and Part 6, but without spoilers about the plot.

This was a fun and steamy Earth female/alien male type of SFR read. I liked the casual and nonchalant voice of Georgie, along with the slightly stilted and more formal mannerisms of Vektal. The book covers of this series give a somewhat tame version of Vektal. Part of the fun is the two of them discovering how different they are, and Ruby Dixon did this with humor and affection. Her unfolding of the alien male physique ranks up there with a couple of oldies-but-goodies like Starkissed by Lanette Currington or Captive Surrender by Linda Mooney. All three of these books have a tender love story that is surrounded by danger.

The sci-fi elements are secondary to the romance, but Dixon does a good job of creating an alien atmosphere that is scary and intimidating. The six parts of Ice Planet Barbarians are fun, but spicy, reads that contain alternating POVs of Georgie and Vektal.

Still I am disappointed that this was it. There where so many other couples I would have loved to read about.

Review of the serial as a whole.

Geordie's world is turned upside down when she is abducted by aliens and them dumped on a remote ice planet along with a group of young women. Whilst seeking help, she is caught in a primitive trap, then discovered by Vektal; a seven feet tall alien with horns and a tail. And he is really into her. His symbiotic parasite has decided she's his mate...

This serial is described as a sci-fi story, however, that's not really the case. Sci-fi stands - as we all know - for Science Fiction. And yes, this is fiction, of course, but the science (a.k.a. futuristic technology) aspect is sadly lacking, except for the sketchy description of a spaceship in vol. 1 & 6. In all truthfulness, this is is more of an alien stone age story, than a sci-fi serial.

Vektal, the leader of small tribe that inhabits this alien world was a sweetheart. Protective, kind and vulnerable when it came to his strange, little mate. He, and the single males of his tribe, were definitely the highlights of the story. However, this world was just a tad too primitive for my liking. I'm not sure any human woman in our day and age could ever be truly happy whilst living in a cave, no matter how well endowed her new mate is.

Overall rating: 2.5 ★ I have also rated each installment individually.

MY ALIEN BARBARIAN !!!

OMG! I love it! Stolen is the first installment in the amazing new serial, Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon and it totally rocked my world! This is my first time reading anything written by Dixon and it won't be my last. I am definitely a fan! If you love science fiction, alien adventure and scorching hot romance, then you will love, love, love this series. The story is exciting, original, compelling, thrilling, enticing, suspenseful, romantic, seductive, arousing and sensual. The dialogue is smart, sassy, well written and flows effortlessly. The characters are imaginative, captivating, engaging, sexy and at times, laugh out loud funny. When you put all this together, you get one heck of a great read! Sexy alien-check! Beautiful sassy earth woman-check! Evil malevolent aliens-check! Danger, abduction, suspense, drama, romance, alien sex, humor and a little snark-you betcha! Oh my! Buckle up! It looks like we're in for one hell of a bumpy ride! Hmm....no pun intended.

I hesitated in buying this book, becaue I had an unsure feeling. Well, feelings be damned...let me tell you that after reading Part One I, I devoured the rest of the series like a bird of prey catching lunch. Damn, it was good - I was totally engrossed in the story and I would shiver when Ruby was describing the cold...burr.... but yet so hot. I would love to read the continuation of this series, so hopefully that is in the works....but if not - well that is okay because what I read so far was great! (but did leave me craving more). Awesome Ruby!!!

So, I read The Alien's Mail-Order Bride by this author, and whereas I didn't much care for alien porn (it was my first experience), I was definitely curious about that spur. So, I decided to give the series that the novella was connected to, Ice Planet Barbarians a shot.

I still can't get my head around the alien part. I can't imagine them. I can't find them sexy because I can't see them. And when I picture something, it isn't attractive. Her writing is pretty good, and her world building is tolerable. The translation part needed some more plotting out, but the rest of the world was somewhat built. I could see the planet, just not the alien.

I said it before, I'll say it again. The fact that those spurs don't exist is also proof that intelligent design is bullshit.

Too much plot, not enough smut. Alien porn not my thing.

tw/rape

So this series is definitely one that's camp. I feel like the author was like, this is a silly premise, and then just leaned hard into it being silly. Which I'm not mad about haha! I also do give mad props to the author for editing out the rape scene and instead only alluding to it, because if I had to read that, this rating would've been much lower.

Also, it seems to be that the author did a really good job of toeing that line between tasteful dubcon and straight up noncon, so props.

Granted, I do think this could've been more thoroughly edited. There were parts I was like, and we care... why?

A SciFi Alien Serial Romance by Ruby Dixon is good. Not sure what to say but Sci Fi, blue alien erotica. Apparently, it is a thing and apparently, I like it. I am not sure how I stumbled upon Ruby and her books, but I love it and am rereading thewhole series and het other series.

Humans being abducted by aliens and badly mistreated only to find themselves crashed on an alien planet with other aliens. It makes for an interesting read where there are mates, language barriers, horned horney blue aliens and a severe lack of women. It is fun and witty and at times heartbreaking, but it is certainly something different and I now find myself strangely addicted.

Read the whole thing in one sitting and I didn't even realize how far I'd gotten until I turned the last page. I was just sucked right in! The right mix of sizzling and genuine, with the charm of introducing each other to unfamiliar cultures. Worth the hype!

Welp - aside from the alien gang bang 20 minutes into the book, it’s pretty funny. A LOT of suspicion of disbelief m

I really enjoyed this! Its really different and pulls you in right away. Talk about alien abductions from your nightmares! Its brutal at first for these women who were kidnapped. Then the gang rape because the most recent abduction screamed and they dont like noise I guess. That was just horrid! I like Georgie though...she the take initiative girl. After being dropped on this ice planet she dresses as warm as she can and goes looking for food, water, and help. Its brutally cold and she gets stuck in a trap to be found by Vektal a very strange looking alien who realizes a passed out Georgie is his mate. What I find humorous and kinda hot is she wakes up to him giving her oral pleasure! HAHA. Which she isn't really hating because he is sort of intriguing and he's not hurting her. So, this is a great start to the series.

Holy erotic Sci-fi at its best! Ms. Dixon delivers with this action packed, space journey. She paints a picture with her details, builds a terrifying and unique work, and delivers a delicious sex scene.

Georgie never could’ve guessed when she went to sleep after a long day at work she’d wake up on an alien space craft. Crammed in a holding cell with others girls all twenty-three, not pregnant, and completely horrified by their various alien captures. She survives the cramped quarters, fear, and a plane crash and go in search of help. What she finds is a creature like none she’s ever met before.

This sci-fi alien romance has me hooked! The world building is fantastic. A few 22 year old women are abducted by a bunch of bad aliens and are dumped onto an ice planet when their ship develops engine problems. After the cargo bay crash lands, Georgie the unofficial leader ventures out into the cold to find help. This is when she meets Vektal... and the heat should have melted the snow! Don't pass up this series!

Perks the interest!

It's a fun read, great when I want something a little scifi and naughty. There's some decent comedy in the lines too. Very hilarious with the slurred speech early on in the story.
I recommend this to anyone who wants something fun, a little twisted, and low on their SciFi intake.

This serial was just ok. The beginning had promise but the middle was boring and the end was forgettable.

The majority of the story was Vektal carrying Georgie around on his back. Boring. I would have enjoyed this story a lot more if the girls had been rescued sooner so we could have spent more time in the village and watching them try to adjust to their new life.

What a wonderful surprise this turned out to be. The beginning of part one is quite dark and gritty but there's also wicked humour from the heroine.

I'll wait until I've read all parts of the serial before doing what I call a "proper" review :D.
