Cala Riley, better known as Cala and Riley, are a pair of friends with a deep seated love of books and writing. Both Cala and Riley are happily married and each have children, Cala with the four-legged kind while Riley has a mixture of both two-legged and four. While they live apart, that does not affect their connection. They are the true definition of family. What started as an idea that quickly turned into a full-length book and a bond that will never end.

I really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Julie and Yak is hot. Yak is a laid back guy until the things he cares about are threatened. He’s possessive, but a huge cinnamon roll for Julie and a caring brother to Yooper. While I did have an inkling about the ending, I was way off. It surprised me in a great way. I love MC romances and this did not disappoint! Read this book!

She doesn’t know it, but I claimed get got everyone to see. In the eyes of the club, she’s now mine.

Chief of police’s daughter and the biker from a 1%er MC club? Sign me up! I love a forbidden romance but especially when the MC will do anything for her, even unavailing people.

you’re the person who quietes my mind when the chaos becomes too much

Properly of Yak is book one in the Kings of Anarchy MC: Ontario spin off and Cala Riley were pulling no punches with this one. If you love a devoted hero and sizzling chemistry’s from the get go then you need to check out this Mc romance.

One thing I love about Cala Riley’s books is seeing old favourites and it makes me smile every time. I loved Julie’s bond with a select few of the MC and seeing how those friendships grew.

I can’t wait to see where this series takes us.

I loved getting Yak's story, but I was bummed he had to leave the Colorado MC. Other than that, I was almost done with the book in one sitting.

Yak has moved to Ontario to help his brother. The plan is to go when they discover who's working against the current MC president.

Until he meets Julie. He saved her, and it was supposed to end there. He never expected to see her again until she showed up at the clubhouse and he had to rescue her again.

Julie has led a sheltered life, and when she met Yak, it all changed.

She knows her father won't approve of him, but he's the only man she's ever longed for.

She knows being with him is dangerous, but no matter what happens, she's choosing him.

Thanks so much to the authors for this ARC to review!

ARC Review ‘Property of Yak’.

Where to start. First off, after reading the acknowledgements, it was so cool to find that the MC Kings of Anarchy are interconnected with other authors too! That’s so cool!
Makes you realize how big the MC world of books is.

As for our main characters, Yak is a sweetheart! I loved his character in the Mountain River MC series, and he doesn’t disappoint in this new spin-off. He really is a chewy cookie🥰

As for Julie, I was not that impressed tbh. Too Sandy (Grease)for my taste, especially with a tough coo daddy I expected more tough girl vibes.
Which made my score drop a bit because sometimes her sensitivity made me want to skip some passages, which I didn’t.

Their insta attraction to each other, chemistry and their 🌶️ was sweet, respectful and not OtT.
Was nice to read about other MC being mentioned. So I am excited to see how this will all come together in future books. Especially the last chapter makes me giddy expecting the draka that is to come🫣🤩🤣

I cannot get enough of a biker that is down bad for the girl after one night. And Yak is that guy.

Cala Riley wrote another five star MC romance. I love the characters in this one. We are introduced to a new MC club when Yak is called by his brother to help.

This club is a bit more hardcore and not everyone is thrilled he was brought into the fold. He’s there to help turn the club around.

Ge also finds himself saving Julie from an attack and he becomes his obsession. They both fall fast and hard but this is the most forbidden of romances they can both get. My favorite part of Cala Riley books is the evolving romance story. I find myself laughing and kicking my feet in a dark romance. I love how they love each other.

I also love Yaks relationship with his brother. He’s protective and willing to go to war to protect him and a club he is not even a member of. They are all each other have and they protect that fiercely.

This is one of my favorite Cala Riley books. I can’t see where this series goes.

When Yak’s brother needs his help, he doesn’t hesitate to go lend a helping hand, what he doesn’t expect is the mess that is his brother’s mc and he knows fixing it will take time. While he is missing his own MC and seems a little lost at first it doesn’t take long before he has a reason to fight and stay. Julie is a sweet innocent girl that winds up in Yak’s world when he rescues her, but her dad being the police chief could really cause problems he doesn’t need and yet he can’t stay away. I loved how these two together seemed to balance each other out one bringing the other out of her shell and the other some what taming the bad boy. I hope we get more books from some of the others especially Yak’s brother.

Property of Yak

🖤🖤🖤🖤

I'm so excited to finally have this sassy man's book! I love him in the other stories; he brings so much light into dark times for his friends. I enjoyed seeing his serious side! I was sad he was in a different club, but he did what he had to do for his family.
Julie was such a good character, and I love how outspoken she is and how she openly feels her emotions without hiding. For an MC brother—Yak is such a softie for her IMMEDIATELY! I'm here for it.
Sometimes while reading, you get a sense of what might happen, and you hope the authors will surprise you... I was right, and I'm not mad about it, but I was still sad about it!
I can't wait to read more about the Kings of Anarchy brothers!

Property Of Yak by Cala Riley is book one in their new King’s Of Anarchy MC: Oakheart, Ontario series. This is a slightly darker spin off from their Mountain River MC series. This is the forbidden romance between MC member Jameson aka Yak and Julie Corday, a paralegal for a lawyer and the Chief of Police’s daughter. Total opposites from different worlds who end up being perfect for each other. A great start to a new series.

I adored Yak because he never stops talking and was so funny. He was always joking around and irritating the rest of the MC but we now find out this was his way of hiding who he really is and his past. I was sad he was leaving his club but his story shows what a great guy he is and he really does come into his own.

Yak told his club he wanted to find his brother and reconnect but the truth is Yooper reached out and asked him to patch over to his club. He is the president but knows there are multiple traitors betraying the club. He needs Yak’s help to work out who he can trust because he won’t live long if he doesn’t figure it out. Yooper helped Yak through some rough years growing up so he can’t refuse, however, the Kings of Anarchy MC are ruthless and violent one percenters, the total opposites to Yak’s old MC so the move affects him in more ways than he ever expected.

Yak first meets Julie when he rescues her from a horrific incident. That night immediately changes both their lives and neither of them can forget about the other. He then ends up rescuing her again when she appears in a place he never expects her to be. He was never been interested in having an old lady so his feelings for Julie knock him sideways. They decide to risk everything for a relationship but can she accept his lifestyle and be part of the MC. Will she choose Yak when her father finds out about them. Yak knows she is worth the risk but could he give up the MC lifestyle for her.

The authors build up the tension and suspense so well and although it is pretty obvious who is out for Yooper, there are many other twists and turns along the way. There is danger lurking round every corner for the couple but Yak is determined to protect her at all costs and the scene where he literally fights for her was raw and gripping. Although Yak tries to keep their relationship hidden, things start getting treacherous. What will be the MC’s reaction when they find out who she is and can he keep her safe when some members still don’t accept him. His plan was to expose the rats and return to Mountain River, however, that back fires when he realises he wants to stay. Not just for Julie but for the new family he’s found with the Kings.

The Kings is full of interesting members and I really liked Sap and Poutine. Yak and Yooper have a strong bond and I look forward to finding out more about their family issues in the next book as both now willing to do anything for those they love. The sting to eradicate the rats doesn’t go as planned so we get a bittersweet but action packed ending with surprises and revelations for the couple and the MC. A lovely epilogue with Yak finally having the life he wanted but never thought he’d have. He still misses Wolf so I loved he was able to take Julie down to meet him and the rest of his old MC.

I started this book without any knowledge of what it was about just that it was a King’s of Anarchy MC book and this far, I haven’t found any I have hated, so I had “low” expectations. NO author wants to know this, but for me, having low expectations is much better than having
higher. With that said, I wasn’t even aware that the KOA world even had a Canadian chapter. Now that I do, I will definitely be continuing so that I can see what happens with Yooper and maybe more, since I don’t know how many members will get their own books.
I want anyone who reads this review to know that even though it might seem like a very negative review it isn’t. I have very complicated feelings when it comes to reviewing books because to me this is a very personal experience, so know that my opinions don’t mean the book isn’t worth it. It just means things about it might have given it less stars, not that it wasn’t good. In fact, the book was great, I will definitely continue the series and I have even looked into more Cala Riley books, but I must say that of all the KOA books I have read, this is not my favorite. If I had to give it an “exact” number for stars, it would probably be closer to a 3 3/4 star, but that doesn’t work here.
On to the actually storeyline. Yak was great. I love his devotion to Julie. It was fabulous, but he was sooooooo tame for a biker in the KOA! The only other author I have read that is super tame is Christine Michelle. I love her tame men though, it’s literally what she’s known for, but this one felt like it wasn’t right. I don’t know why, but I felt like he should have been more possesive/alpha/just hard. His leniency and the fact that he made a swear jar for his wife…….NOT MY FAVORITE! I mean this is KOA, nobody messes with the kings…..yet, they all fall in love with his wife enough to stop swearing when it’s literally part of their world??? Maybe its just me, but that doesn’t fit into the MC world at all. Becuase of that, I had a difficult read. Julie was not what I thought at all. She was WAYYYYYYY too naive for me. I really hated her character. She didn’t believe anyone about anything and she literally thought the world was not a scary place at all, with nothing to worry about. It felt like a 16 year old instead of a 20 something. Yak had all this experience and life he had lived and she stayed in the same town all her life believing that she had nothing to worry about even when her dad was the chief of police. It just felt like the whole book, as it was already fiction, was even more so, something not even possible.
Conclusion, good book, not awesome and a favorite for the year, but definitely worth reading a tamer MC book that does have some darker scenes. I suggest if you have issues with attempted SA or abduction, maybe skip this one, but it has a good story and some good characters. Some you’ll hate, but totally worth the read. Go check it out right now!

(I received an ARC for this book)

trigger warnings will be at the bottom of this review, to avoid spoilers
This book includes a one-percenter Motorcycle Club. There is violence and illegal activities on page. This includes assault and physical violence involving the main characters, morally grey decisions made by main characters. A main character’s life is threatened/in danger. There is also loss of life on page. The sexual content involves dubcon and c!ckwarming.

I’ve read all of this duo’s MC romances, I got used to a certain club lifestyle and typ characters. But I always trust their writing, and I went into this already loving Yak, so I was prepared to push my boundaries. Nothing was pushed! Everything was done in true Cala Riley fashion, though character limits and boundaries were definitely pushed (and I did indeed enjoy that!) What happens when a tough biker with a golden retriever persona and a possessive streak patches with a one-percenter club and falls for the right woman at the wrong time? Chaos of course! And heartbreak, and pain. (Those two were personal, because Yak and Julie were too in love and content to be anything other than happy!) I really enjoyed that the darker content was played out to be life-changing experiences for the main characters. They didn’t change who they were, but it didn’t push them towards each other. And I won’t complain about that!

My Favorite Quotes:
• “She’s mine and only mine.”
• “I’m going to protect you until my dying breath.”
• “I want to be an honorable man, but even I have my limits.
• “You give me something to live for.”
• “You weren’t my plan, but Lord knows I can’t let you go now.”
• “If this is where you are, this is where I’ll be.”
• “You have become essential to my being.”
• “F!ck me like you mean it.”

7/10 Dirty Birdy
6/10 Forbidden Romance

Trigger Warnings include:
A motorcycle club that lives on their own (illegal) laws that runs drugs, weapons, and counterfeit products. The MMC makes morally grey choices including murder and participating in the illegal activities with the MC. The FMC is assaulted on page, and there is an intention of rape after stalking and a kidnapping. There is a dirty cop that breaks laws and is involved with the dirty MC. The MMC is involved in physical violence over the FMC. A loved one dies on page in a shooting. The dubcon occurs when the FMC is sleeping,. (It is followed by a conversation about future occurances.)

YAK is the first instalment in Cala Riley’s contemporary, adult KINGS OF ANARCHY: OAKHEART ONTARIO erotic, MC romance series, a part of the multi-authored Kings of Anarchy MC. This is Jameson ‘Yak’ Taylor, and twenty-five year old PA Julie Corday’s story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers

Told from dual first person perspectives (Yak and Julie) YAK follows the forbidden relationship between our story line couple. A night on the town with a co-worker finds our heroine in need of rescuing-enter Jameson ‘Yak’ Taylor, the newest members of the Kings of Anarchy MC-Oakheart Ontario, and the man with whom Julie will fall in love. Not one but twice Julie is on the receiving end of unwanted attention, and in this, Yak becomes guardian and protect of the woman with whom he will fall in love but all is not well within the KOAMC, and the member must go on the offensive to ferret out a possible betrayer.

The world building focuses on the hierarchy in the KOAMC: Oakheart, and the potential for a betrayal against the people at the top. Drugs and weapons are their main source of income but with it comes the usual threats, and recriminations on the wrong side of the law.

The relationship between Julie and Yak begins as a rescue. Out with a friend, Julie finds herself assaulted, and Yak is determined to save her life. Frightened and somewhat oblivious to the world of the MC, Julie is pulled into a lifestyle she knows little about but Julie’s father is the local chief of police, and the MC is not very high on his list of trustworthy friends. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, determined and often questionable secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to the Kings of Anarchy : Oakheart President and Yak’s brother Bennett ‘Yooper’ Taylor, Aragon, Goose, Canuck, Poutine,IT specialist Predator, SAA Yukon, Sap, Timbit, Tailgunner Wolverine, Mowtown, as well as Julie’s father Chief Benjamin Corday, his second in command Ray Overstreet, Julie’s co-worker Lisa and friend Liz, and several of Yak’s former brothers with another MC.

YAK is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, loss and grief, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dark, dramatic and gritty; the romance is edgy; the characters are desperate, dynamic and charismatic.

If you love MC romances that deliver the perfect balance of danger, emotion and sizzling chemistry, then Property of Yak is one you need at the top of your TBR.

I have absolutely loved watching the incredibly talented duo Cala Riley branch out into the MC romance world. They’ve already delivered some fantastic books in the genre, but with Property of Yak, the first book in their brand-new Kings of Anarchy MC: Oakheart, Ontario series, I honestly think they’ve raised the bar once again.

I’m going to put my head above the MC romance parapet and say something that might surprise people…

Property of Yak is my favourite MC romance they’ve written so far.

From the very first chapter I was completely hooked. This is one of those stories where the tension never lets up. Every chapter pulls you deeper into a world filled with uncertainty, danger and edge-of-your-seat suspense, while the romance burns hotter and hotter with every page. Even better? No third-act breakup. Instead, the emotional intensity comes from everything happening around Yak and Julie, allowing their relationship to grow stronger through every challenge they face.

Yak is exactly the kind of biker hero I love—protective, loyal, fiercely devoted and impossible not to fall for. Julie couldn’t be more different. As the good girl daughter of the town’s Chief of Police, she’s spent her whole life doing what’s expected of her and never stepping outside her comfort zone. Watching these two worlds collide is utterly captivating.

Their chemistry is electric from the moment they meet, but it’s the emotional connection that really stole my heart. Every glance, every conversation and every moment they share pulls you deeper into their story, making you root for them from beginning to end.

The suspense running through this book is brilliantly written. It keeps you constantly questioning what’s coming next without overshadowing the romance, creating that addictive “just one more chapter” feeling that had me flying through the pages.

One of my favourite parts was being introduced to the rest of the Kings of Anarchy MC. Cala Riley have created a brotherhood full of personalities that instantly made me desperate to know more about each of them, and I already can’t wait to see whose story comes next.

Property of Yak is everything I want from an MC romance—gripping, emotional, intensely romantic and packed with heart-racing suspense. If this first book is anything to go by, Kings of Anarchy MC: Oakheart, Ontario is going to be a series every MC romance fan will want to follow from the very beginning.

𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩 - cops daughter x mc member, forced claim, touch her & 💀, found family, he saves her, no third act

Yak book is finally hereee, I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for it because I loved him since he first got introduced. Am I sad he’s with an another mc club? Yes but I’m also glad he’s happy and reunited with his brother, but also maintaining a close relationship with his previous MC brothers. This book was so good from beginning to end I loved it so much and couldn’t get enough of it. And I was definitely sobbing the last 15% cause whyyy Cala and Riley just why and then liv also!? I need her back with Julie, hope there’s more to the story

Julie is a paralegal who’s also wanting to become a lawyer. I love Julie so much and relate to her so bad she’s literally my girl and plus she’s the daughter of the towns sheriff. Julie and her bestfriend/sister goes out one night and somebody bad is happening to her but good thing yak stopped it and that interaction made an impact with both of them.

Julie and Yak are so deer to me, I love them so much. Their chemistry and banter with each other is so freaking perfect they just get each other and so protective over each other also, they just want each other safe. After that night yak saved her, they never gave each other names but she found him but it almost went wrong and resulted into yak claiming Julie for protection

Yak my guy!! I love him so freaking much he’s literally everything to me. He’s just so perfect in every which way idc. And I love how he’s so protective and will do anything to make sure Julie is safe and sound especially when he can’t trust anyone but a couple of people. Yak was only suppose to be with his brother club for a couple months to help him figure out a rat and then go back home but he met Julie and ended up staying.

I loved every second of this book and was going through a lot of emotions and I definitely can’t wait for more of this series cause this was such a good start! And hopefully I get to see my girl liv again🤞🏽

Thank You So Much for giving me this incredible arc!

Property of Yak is the series opener for the Kings of Anarchy MC. The book is written by one of my favorite authors, Cala Riley. I found these authors a while back and I have loved everything I can get my hands on. I want to thank Cala Riley for the opportunity to read this ARC. I was so excited to jump back into their MC universe. It never disappoints. Give me a motorcycle and a forbidden love interest and I am sold.

Yak and Julie are a complete opposites attract love story. They could not be more different if they tried. Yak is the type of guy your parents tell you to stay away from. Julie is the good girl Chief’s daughter. If you saw these two you would tell them to stay away from each other for their own good. Neither one could deny the spark between them, and I loved every second of it. Yak is the type of MMC that I have learned to expect from Cala and Riley. He is protective, loyal to his family, and a little dangerous. Yak literally fought to prove to Julie that she was meant to be his. I believe Julie went pretty willingly. She did not fight the chemistry between them. I loved that she called him by his government name. It was a display of intimacy I did not expect to feel. Yak fell hard and fast for her. Julie jumped right into her ol’ lady status and everything seemed to click immediately. The banter, sass, and spice were all fantastic too. Julie’s swear jar had me laughing! She was so sweet that she hated cursing. Well, she found herself wrapped up in a biker's club. She could make some serious cash with these guys.

It would not be a Cala Riley series if there weren’t a little chaos and danger too. The pages just kept turning and I could not stop myself. I am invested in the Kings of Anarchy MC. Since he is new to the group I loved the relationships that were developing between Yak and some of the guys in the club too. Wherever the series continues next I know Cala Riley will make sure it is a fun ride, and I can’t wait to jump on.

Our big lovable Yak finally gets his own story and old lady! After seeing most of his friends pair up and settle down, Yak starts to feel restless.
When his brother calls out of the blue asking for help, he packs up his bike and makes the ride out to Ontario; to the Kings of Anarchy MC. Yooper, his brother, is the prez, and he needs Yak to help him weed out the rotten members, spreading rot and mistrust throughout the club. Yak is the only one he can trust.

The brothers have an issue with how Yak was fast tracked into the club, claiming nepotism. Yak not only has to prove himself worthy to a club of brothers who don't want him there, but find the leak in the club. Because something big is going down, and Yooper's head is in the firing line.

Yak's intention was always to help his brother settle his club issue, then return home to his own mc and brothers. He didn't expect that saving a woman one night would turn his plans around and gave him everything he didn't know he was looking for.

Yak is such a softie for Julie as he should be. He protected her from the start and continued to do so every time she did something naïve and got herself into trouble.
Being the chief of police's daughter gave her a false sense of security and safety.

The KoA don't have the best reputation, and unlike his home mc, they are a 1%er club, into various illegal activities and dealings. Their personal morals are also more questionable when it comes to women, safety, and the brotherhood. Very much an old boys club with power hungry, every man for himself members stuck in the old ways.

I wanted to know more about Yak and Yooper's past, particularly their father and why the siblings are all in hiding more or less from him. The sisters were mentioned, their safety and anonymity a priority. We got some titbits of info, hopefully Yooper's entry into the series will give us more.

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌙

I just really like these two authors... as simple as that! Whatever they write, they somehow manage to make it beautiful, and this one was no different. ❤️

This book is such a sweet and fun MC romance! Yak comes to Oakheart from the US to help his brother sort out the mess inside his MC club. He has no plans to stay, and definitely no plans to get involved with anyone. Then he meets Julie, the sheltered daughter of the town's police chief, and everything changes. He saves her, kills for her, protects her, and takes her home to make sure she's okay, but he knows she is a complication he doesn't need. He's there on a mission, and that mission is already proving much harder than he expected. The problem is... he can't forget her, and neither can Julie.

And then Julie goes looking for him... and that's when shit hits the fan. 😂 Sorry, Julie... $1 for the swearing jar!

These two were perfect for each other from that first encounter. Yak is protective, loyal, and definitely has a softer side when it comes to Julie. Julie may have lived a sheltered life, but she knows what she wants, and she isn't willing to let anyone decide for her. Yak realizes that maybe he finally has something worth staying for. Their chemistry is great, and their relationship is so sweet and beautiful. It feels so natural... like the pieces of a puzzle, despite all the danger and chaos surrounding them.

And then there is this new MC family! There is clearly A LOT going on inside the Kings of Anarchy, and I am already curious about these men and what Cala Riley have planned for them. The events towards the ending were sad... and my heart ached, but they got the HEA they deserved.

Sweet, fun, spicy, and with enough danger and drama to keep things interesting, this is another enjoyable little gem from these two talented authors.

Property of Yak is book one in the brand-new Kings of Anarchy MC: Oakheart, Ontario series, and once again, Cala Riley delivers! As a fan of Cala Riley's books, I knew I was going to want to read this one, and it absolutely did not disappoint.

𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤/𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙚 = Jameson aka Yak and Julie Corday
𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 = No
𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚 = Yes
𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙚(𝙨) = MC Romance • Chief of police’s daughter and the biker • MF • Touch her & d!e • Found Family • Forbidden Romance • Dual POVs
𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨 = Language • Sexual Content • Violence • Assault • Illegal activities (MC business)
𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 = 🔥🔥🔥
𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧 𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 = ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yak has moved to Ontario to help his brother. Then he meets Julie and ends up saving her. He never expects to see her again until she shows up at the clubhouse and needs rescuing once more. But there’s a big problem! Julie is the Chief of Police's daughter. Talk about forbidden! Yak is a member of an MC that is definitely not on her father's list of favorite people, and their relationship could cause some serious problems. And.. what will happen when the MC discovers who she really is? Will they accept her, or will Yak have to choose?

This story is packed with twists and turns, danger, and tension around every corner. Just when you think things are settling down, something else happens to keep you turning the pages.
And Yak and Julie? Their chemistry is HOT! Yak's protective side had me swooning, and their forbidden relationship added just the right amount of angst and tension.

Cala Riley gives us a fantastic start to this new series, and I am already invested! If you love MC romance, protective bikers, forbidden relationships, suspense, and plenty of heat, definitely add Property of Yak to your TBR.

Cala Riley, you did it again! I’m a fan and cannot wait for the next one!

✨ARC Review✨

Oh boy this book took me a while and I wish I had finished sooner.

Once more, Cala Riley has crafted an MC romance that draws you into the characters' life and gives you the impression that you are joining the club. In this genre, Yak is precisely the kind of character that readers are likely to fall in love with he is passionate, intense, protective, and faithful to the woman who catches his eye. Yak has travelled to Canada to help his brother and his MC who is a part of the Kings of Anarchy chapter. (Yes Yak is the same Yak from Mountain River MC Series).

Julie is the chief of Police’s daughter and with her best friend getting her into trouble, she finds herself in trouble and Yak saves the day. This is defiantly leaning towards Bad boy x Good Girl and I love when he corrupts her. The spice in his book is the best I’ve read from Cala and Riley! There are certain scenes that had me on the edge of my seat…

Property of Yak is a fantastic option for those who appreciate motorcycle club romance, possessive heroes, protective love interests, finding family, and powerful MC brotherhoods because of Cala Riley's captivating and simple language. It's a fun and captivating start to a new series.

All things considered, Property of Yak is an excellent beginning to the Kings of Anarchy MC: Oakheart, Ontario series. The romance has lots of tension, the MC setting conveys the sense of devotion and family that makes this genre so alluring. Given that Property of Yooper is scheduled to resume the story in 2027, I am eager to see where Cala Riley takes this tale going forward.

I want to thank Cala Riley and their PR Team for the opportunity to read and review Property of Yak

Property of Yak was such a good start to a new series, exactly the dark, gritty MC romance I was in the mood for. Julie having such a sheltered, safe life and then getting pulled into Yak's world after he rescues her one night is such a classic but effective setup, and the forbidden factor of him being everything her father hates made the pull between them so much more intense.

Yak was such a good hero too, that possessive, protective energy without tipping into over the top felt really well balanced, and I loved that despite the danger surrounding Julie he never treated her like something fragile, more like someone worth fighting for. Julie herself wasn't just along for the ride either, she's got this quiet stubbornness where even knowing the risk, she chooses him anyway, which made her feel like a genuinely strong heroine instead of just a damsel.

The dual POV worked really well here, getting both their perspectives made the tension and the danger hit harder, especially once it becomes clear there's a betrayer within the club itself. Cala Riley doesn't shy away from the dark, gritty side of MC life either, there's real stakes and real violence, so if you're squeamish this one might push some limits, but it gave the story a lot of weight.

Overall such an addictive, dark, possessive romance, and a great launch into the Kings of Anarchy MC series. Already looking forward to Yooper's book next.

This is the first book in the series and is full of betrayal, action, suspense, brotherly love, and heat. If you've read the Mountain River MC series, then Yak will be familiar as he was in those books. Yak patches into his brother's MC to help him figure out what is going on with the club and to find the traitor amongst them. He plans to help his brother, Yooper and then transfer back to his original club, the Mountain River MC but then he meets Julie. Julie finds herself in trouble when she goes with Liz, who is dating someone in a rival MC, to a club where she finds that Liz has fixed her up on a blind date. When she has had enough and steps outside the club, she is grabbed by two men planning to assault and kill her, but Yak saves her. He is drawn to her but knows that he should stay away from her because of the current turmoil within the club. When she shows up at a club party and is once again accosted by the VP, Aragon and once again, Yak intervenes but has to claim Julie as his old lady to get Aragon to back off. Now she is trapped in their world, and he must keep her safe at all costs. To complicate things even more, Yak finds out that she is the Sheriff's daughter and works for a lawyer - could things get any worse!
This couple must navigate the turmoil swirling around them before getting their HEA.

This is the first book in a new MC series that takes us to Canada which is where we had last seen Yak in Ridge's Viper.

This story follows Yak on his journey with the KOA in Canada and reconnecting with his brother. He starts there as a way to help his brother out with a situation but quickly finds something more for himself there.

We have Julie, who happens to work for a lawyer and is great at her job. Her father is loving and overprotective at times, but he has his reasons. She is a part of something that she shouldn't be a part of and that is how Julie gets into Yak's world and that meeting changes everyone's world.

There is instant chemistry for them both and the romance moves quickly but it feels somewhat natural as well for them. They develop real, deep feelings and the protectiveness that comes out in Yak is great to see as is seeing him come into his own with the KOA MC.

It was a great story of reconnection and new love as well as figuring out a place in life; respectively for each of them. There are bumps along the way and tragedy as well but there is friendship and love as well.

Yak and Yooper's Dad...color me intrigued!!!! Liz....best friend to Julie....loved her initially but was on the fence at the end of the book and curious to see if she comes back and how in the series!!!

Another great world for us to get from these ladies!!!

This was such a GREAT start to a new series! 😍 Once I started reading, I seriously couldn’t put it down. And honestly, with an author this amazing, I already knew I was going to love this book! ❤️‍🔥 Now I’m just sitting here impatiently waiting to see what happens in the next book because I NEED it! 😂📚

If you love these tropes, you’re definitely going to want to check this one out 👀👇

✨ MC / Cop’s Daughter
✨ Forced Claiming
✨ Touch Her and 💀
✨ Found Family

Julie was perfect for Yak. The second he saw her, he knew she was his… she just didn’t know it yet. 😏 And once she did find out, Yak made sure she knew exactly what it meant to be his woman and how far he would go to keep her safe. 🥹❤️

There was also A LOT of MC drama, especially between this club and the one Yak left. The president of the Ontario MC is actually his brother, and Yak transferred there to help him clean up the club and figure out who was behind all the trouble happening.

I really loved these two together! ❤️ Their chemistry was SO good, and then you add in all the twists, drama, and little bits of suspense sprinkled throughout the story… it definitely gave me everything I wanted! 🔥

Overall, this was such a fun read and a 5-star start to the series for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Now excuse me while I go impatiently wait for the next book

Now I’m an MC romance lover through and through and Cala Riley never fails to deliver. But the tropes in Property Of Yak, well lets just say they had me well and truly hooked.

When you combine MC with a hint of the forbidden and then top it off with a breeding kink I’m a total goner and Property of Yak brings it all and then some.

When Yak patches over to the Kings of Anarchy MC from Mountain River in order to help his blood brother uncover the rat within his club he has no time for love. But, when he comes to the rescue of a woman in need protecting her from becoming a statistic the connection between them is instantaneous and undeniable. Julie is the police chiefs daughter and is as different as can be from the women Yak usually encounters.

When Julie turns up at the Clubhouse, mid party and hoping to explore the connection that she felt between them she bites off more than she can chew. Surrounded by the raucous environment of the clubhouse she finds herself once again in danger. In order to protect Julie Yak must claim her as his. With every heated exchange between them their relationship grows and it becomes harder to deny their feelings.

Can Yak find the traitor in the club before it’s too late, or will it cost him the woman who is quickly becoming his everything?

In this book, we get to see where Yak went and why. This is a slow-burn MC romance with a bit of spice, found family, love and loss, and has a happy ending.

Not gonna lie, I found myself thinking over and over while reading this, "Who knew Yak could be so serious?" It was so unexpected! I thought his book would've been quite comical but it was the opposite. Don't get me wrong, he still cracked some funny jokes and comments, but we definitely got to see a different side to him. At the beginning of this book, he seemed lost and unhappy, but as he got to know Julie and this new MC's brothers he started to change. He found happiness and his home.

Julie is unique from the other fmcs we've seen. She's not what you would expect for an old lady. She's more traditional, a homebody, doesn't like cussing, and a police chief's daughter. She had me cracking up every time she scolded someone for cussing. Yak is good for her because he's her safety, home, and brings her out of her shell a bit.

The ending was bittersweet for a few reasons but still happy for Yak and Julie. I enjoyed the new characters and setting in this one. I loved the foreshadowing for Liz's story and can't wait to read it!

Another amazing book from Cala Riley!!!

Yak and Julie… YES. Just YES.

I absolutely loved these two. Their chemistry was completely off the charts, and the more I read, the more invested I became in their relationship.

Yak moved there to help his brother and never planned on staying. Then Julie came into his life. She’s everything he knows he should stay away from, especially when being part of his world could put her in danger.

Meanwhile, Julie has spent her life safe and sheltered, and Yak represents everything her father would hate. But she doesn’t care. She wants him.

And apparently I wanted Yak too because by the end I was sitting there thinking, can Julie share?! 😂

There were moments where this book genuinely left me speechless. I finished it and immediately wished there were some magical way to experience it for the first time all over again.

Seriously, is book-induced amnesia available somewhere? Because I would gladly forget Property of Yak just so I could read Yak and Julie’s story for the first time again. 😂

Cala Riley got me GOOD with this one.

Thank you so much to Cala Riley for the opportunity to read and review Property of Yak! 🖤

I have been loving the Kings of Anarchy MC books with each author writing a different chapter. I have found so many new to me authors from this shared world and this is one of them. This was my first book by this author duo, and I can't wait to read more.

This is Julie and Yak's story. This story kept me hooked from beginning to end. Yak leaves his MC in Colorado to go to Canada to help his brother in his MC. His brother, Yooper is the Pres of the Kings of Anarchy in Oakheart, Ontario and has someone trying to take over his club. He needs Yak to help him flush out the traitor/s. Julie is the daughter of the chief of police. Yak has a good heart and saves Julie from an attack - twice! Not a good match for Yak since he is with a 1 percenter club, but he and Julie still fall in love.

There were a few twists I didn't see coming, especially one person's death, which brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait to read the next Kings of Anarchy MC Ontario book. I highly recommend this book.

I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it’s available.

First and foremost, I was excited to see that Cala Riley decided to write an MC series situated in Ontario, Canada. Their MC books are always intriguing, well-written, and have you swooning over the MMCs and loving the FMCs. Property of Yak is one of those books. The storyline was unique, suspenseful and riveting.
Yak has transferred from his MC club in the US to his brother's KOAMC in Ontario, Canada, to help out and find the traitor within. What he wasn't expecting was to fall for the chief's daughter, Julie. One night, saving her life finds her seeking him out at the Club and here is where their lives become entangled. She needs saving as soon as she walks into the Club and he steps up, causing trouble with one of his club brothers. Having to deal with a traitor in the club and now keeping her safe, he has his hands full. Julie was not the woman I thought she would be. At times, I had a hard time believing her and the way she acted. She did, however, change my mind.
In true Cala Riley fashion, they threw in a few twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat. I was not, however, prepared for the ending. No spoilers here; you will have to read it.

Property Of Yak ( Kings Of Anarchy MC: Oakheart , Ontario Book 1 ) Dark , Steamy , Emotional, Charged . Addictive and just 100% perfection. OMG GUYS!’ I really was just taken on the ride of my life and completely blown away in all the best ways . Because CALA truly nailed it once again and delivered another phenomenal story book , 📕 one of the best I’ve read this year. Property Of Yak is the type of romance that will literally hook you from page one . That you’ll find your on the edge of your seat and anticipating what’s to come next with . And all the emotions you’ll be feeling - well let’s just say you’ll never be prepared for . Words cannot describe how much I absolutely adored Julie and Yak together. The way they were so different yet they just fit together so flawlessly. The push and pull between them - chefs kiss . So much fun to watch them fall, even when Yak for reasons you’ll just have to find out for yourself was doing everything in his power to distance himself . Well until he just couldn’t anymore . Add into that the angst , the humor , all the banter and the family and friendships. This is a absolute read for anyone and everyone

Firstly, my thanks to the author for my ARC of this book. How to begin? Am I allowed to say that a cold blooded murderer is a great guy? Well in this case he certainly is. He saved a girl from being raped and killed and they fell in loved with each other. Didn't help that he was a member of Kings of Anarchy MC. Yak was on loan from Colorado and had come to Canada for family. Didn't really help that the girl he saved was the daughter of the police chief.

You weren't my plan but Lord knows I can't let you go now! (Yak)

It keeps getting more and more involved as the book goes along but it was very easy to follow. A well written book with believable characters and a fabulous story. It was awesome that Yak kept in touch with his club in Colorado and great that they all got to visit Colorado from Canada.

I love d this book from beginning to end and I was sorry when it ended. A good ending but one little bit I wish hadn't been.

Fans of the Cala Riley will love this book. New to the author, please read this one and then I know you will be hooked on Cala like all her fans. For me, I am excited and will wait patiently for the 2nd installment of this new series.

Whoa… I did not expect that…

Kings of Anarchy MC - Oakheart: Yak and Julie

This is an emotional romantic suspense that kept me hooked from beginning to end.
Yak is fiercely protective, and Julie brings out the softer side of him, while he helps her step outside the sheltered life she's always known. Their relationship grows quickly, it’s very steamy, but they’re also kind of sweet, making it easy to root for them.

With Julie's father being the chief of police, betrayal from within, and danger lurking around every corner, seemingly targeted at Julie, the suspense never lets up. There were a few twists I didn't see coming, especially one character's death, which genuinely brought tears to my eyes. Poor Julie couldn’t seem to catch a break, but it almost seems like there’s a bit of a setup for a future story there…

So, if you like morally grey protective heroes, suspense, a found-family who lives in the dark, couples who help each other grow, Property of Yak is just for you.
