Ellen Mint adores the adorkable heroes who charm with their shy smiles and heroines that pack a punch. She recently won the Top Ten Handmaid's Challenge on Wattpad where hers was chosen by Margaret Atwood. Her books, Undercover Siren and Fever are available at Amazon as well as a short story in the Lucky Between The Sheets anthology. Married, she lives in Nebraska with her dog named after Granny Weatherwax. Her hobbies include gaming, painting, and halloween prop making. The basement is full of skeletons because they ran out of room in the closets.
So this is book 2 in the series and things are really picking up. This one has some crazy action, I mean constant peril! Similar to book one, not super heavy on the frequency of smut scenes but what we get them they are steamy.
This second book definitely hit me right in the feels. There are some very emotionally engaging and heartfelt scenes. I'm loving some characters, I won't say who because I don't want to spoil anything and others got me questioning how I feel.
This book unfortunately ends on another cliff hanger and this one has me so damn frustrated!!!!! I appreciate the suspense but damnit I need book 3 immediately.
I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.
A great continuation of this dryad romance by Ellen Mint, full of great world building, kidnapping, spice, love, why choose romance, adventure, secrets, twists, discovery, banter and a large fox.
Things are getting better and worse for Trish. She's been separated from Linden who's been imprisoned by Cypress, and while he's waiting to be killed she's been declared to be the dryad's long awaited Golden Goddess. Cypress promises her that he'll release Linden if she can make the Golden Tree bloom, though she only has a month.
She starts working with Willow, knowing he's the dryad that General Hickory is in love with and they quickly become friends (though with some wonderfully awkward moments). And I loved it when Ash became her handmaiden.
"Thank you, Keeper of the Roots, for telling us about that night." "Nights." Both Willow and Trish paused. They turned back to the man who was holding up a second bowl with another, fresher flower. "It happened twice."
A great read with multiple POVs (Trish, Linden, Willow and Hickory). I love the world Ellen has created in this series, with Trish learning more about the dryads and the world she's now a goddess in. I couldn't put this down and can't wait to find out what happens with Linden, Trish, Hickory and Willow in Leaflorn (Seeds of Hope, book 3).
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is such an interesting series and I really enjoy it. If you are looking for a story with redemption, secrets that can bring down a kingdom, and spicy times with tree people then this is the book/series for you. I highly recommend it. Trish is back in the Citadel with the crazy ruler Cypress. She is just about to be killed, when the Seed state that she is the golden goddess. Being the goddess gives Trish some power and she is able to hold off any killings for a month. It also gives her the ability to work with Willow, who was good to her when she was first taken (in the first book) and push their relationship closer. Now Trish is trying to save Linden and the tree before the month is up. Plus there is a crazy body attraction to Hickory, who has made it back to the citadel, and other plots and powers afoot, which has Trish takes in stride. Secrets of the tree and underground workings keeps this book very entertaining. I received this book as an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Golden Goddess In this wonderful, crazy world of walking and talking trees, Trish is proclaimed to be the Golden Goddess, linked to their (female) tree of life. But there are powers that be that are competing each other with her in the middle. Is she going to be smart enough to outwit them? But Linden, the one she loves so much, is in the dungeon, being tortured. Saving him is her ultimate wish. And there is Willow, who helped her escape at the start of this whole adventure, and who is now the devoted servant to the Golden Goddess. And there is also General Hickory. Trish is also attracted to both. But the tree is dying… Can she save it? My imagination sometimes has a problem to follow were Ellen is taken us, but the enjoyment reading this book does not suffer at all. If you’re ready for something extremely different, this is definitely worth while! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This sequel is gravitational. It pulled me in and kept me bound in my seat! Trish is put through it. With nothing going as planned at the end of Arborable, we know everyone is everywhere. You can't predict this book. Don't even try. Just read this experience and immerse yourself in the Citadel. See the rivers and drink with your roots. This book will keep you locked in until that very last word. I CANNOT wait until the third book!
This is the sequel to Aborable in the Seeds of Hope saga. You really need to read that story to find your footing in this one. The book pulls you in from the beginning and keeps you reading until the end. You will experience so many emotions throughout the story. There are widely diverse characters some you will love but others not so much. I am looking forward to the next book to see what happens.
This is a very imaginative story that is well written and fast paced. Wonderful fantasy, action packed and full of adventure. Throw in some tears, some sweetness and steam with wonderful characters and you have a great story you can't put down once started. I received and ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.
A really fun read with some heartbreaking moments. Trish is now the Golden Goddess and Linden is imprisoned whilst she has to make the Golden Tree bloom. Trish is also attracted to Willow and General Hickory which causes a lot of conflict. An amazing story, action packed, spicy and with fabulous world building. Looking forward to the next book.
This romantasy kept me utterly enthralled. I couldn’t put it down! Trish is unbelievable, she just keeps on going (like the Energizer bunny). This has twists, suspense, action, brilliant banter, sweetness, steam and enchanting characters. Trish, Linden, Willow and Hickory’s story is unique and exciting and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3, Leaflorn.
First thing I am going to say is this is not the end. The good thing about this book is Ms. Mint gives readers a recap. Readers are up-to-date on what is happening. Trish has been declared the Golden Goddess. General Hickory is nowhere to be found. Willow is there
Absolutely wonderful follow up. It is fast paced, great characters and very sexy at times. There are quite a few sad moments but I was complete engrossed!!
