I was really hoping that this book would wrap the trilogy up in a spectacular fashion. Unfortunately, I felt like this conclusion was a bit predictable and not nearly as exciting as the first two installments. I did enjoy the story. There was tons of action as I have come to expect and all of the loose ends were actually tied up quite nicely. This book just seemed to be missing the something extra I was looking for.
This is the third book in the Unknown Assassin trilogy and I really think that readers will be lost if they have not read the first two installments prior to this book. This is a trilogy that is not based in reality and if I were to sit down and analyze everything that happens, I would quickly come to the conclusion that a lot of things that happen simply are not possible. That is what I love about fiction - all things become possible. This book is exciting in a way that spy movies are exciting. There is so much action that it is hard not to have some fun with it.
The problem with this book is that I went into the story expecting the unexpected. I know what Zach is capable of and am no longer as impressed by his almost super human skill set. Unfortunately, no new skills were revealed in this book. In addition, it has already been established that Zach is questioning the Program so his behavior in this book was really what I had expected with one exception, Tanya. It seemed a bit out of character that Zach would trust Tanya so quickly.
This is a YA novel and it definitely has that feel to it. There is quite a bit of violence but that is to be expected when the main character is a trained assassin. There is a fade to black sex scene as well. This book may be best for teens at the high school level.
The book was really fast paced with a lot of excitement. I really appreciate the fact that the story was wrapped up satisfactorily but I would have enjoyed a couple of surprises along the way. I think that readers of the trilogy will be pleased to have all of their questions answered. While this is my least favorite book in the trilogy, I still think that it is a strong ending. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fast paced, YA novels with a lot of action. I would recommend that this trilogy be read in order so readers will want to start with the first book, I Am the Weapon.

I really enjoyed books 1 & 2 but I didnt enjoy the conclusion to it.
I think my main problem was once you bring a "relationship" into it the whole book begins to revolve around her and thats not how the first two books were which i really liked but this was a new dynamic.

I don't know Zach any better at the end of this third installment than I did in the first, that's my biggest issue (though not my only one).
Of character development, there was none.
Goes for the secondary characters, too. Repeating the few identifying traits each has just wasn't enough to give em life. Inconsistent actions and reactions really didn't help with the fleshing either.
Flat. All around pancake-flat.
Fast paced story, sure. No argument on that. But when I couldn't rouse any feeling for a single character, how could I be expected to care about a damn thing they were going through, huh?
The super fast pace of happenings also made much of it seem kinda ludicrous. And forced. Riddled with an abundance of jarring and confusing timeline inaccuracies.
The plot 'twists' didn't floor me. In fact, I found it increasingly difficult to see Zach in the light of a Master Assassin when he was so stupendously blind to so much of... well, everything.

The ending of a fun series based on teens working for "the Program" as assassins. This book was much more predictable than the other two and produced a large amount of eye-rolling with lines like, "he took three long breathes to oxygenate his brain."

It didn't take me long to finish this book.
Maybe a few Spoilers. Here. And there.
Anyways, I knew he was going to end up leaving the program at the end. Because I think he was beginning to think and feel the things he was doing was wrong. And got tired of following orders. Bad thing about it was that he finally found his father who wasn't dead to end up killing him. I couldn't blame him for that no one bit. Because for one you can understand how he felt his father wasn't the same man he was when he (Zachary) was a kid he changed and he was the one to put his own son into the program and Zack mom didn't like what his (Zack) father was doing. I agree. It was wrong of him to let the program kill her. Smh.
I was happy, that Mike finally got killed lordy he was annoying little Joker. Of course he was, since he was actually jealous of Zack and how his father (Zack father) actually care more about Zack then him (Mike)..
I was glad nothing happened to Howard. But through this whole book, I wonder did Howard parents even look for this boy. When he left home I'm like what in the world.

Damn! This YA trilogy slays it totally. This is action after action after action! I didn't even had time to breathe. Ignore the untaken meals, not enough sleeps and pure procrastination to things I should do, I feel so high finding and getting to know this series. The only thing that's keeping me from giving a perfect score on this trilogy is the love angle. The ending is also predictable but oh well, looking past that and focusing on the mystery, action, and thrill, this is really an awesome read.

This was an exhilarating end to a very enjoyable series. In this final installment, Zach is trying to stay off The Program's grid while searching for his friend, Howard. At the same time, he's trying to learn the truth about what happened to his father.
As with the prior two novels, I couldn't put this one down. And Zach is growing more mature and independent, thinking more about what's right than following The Program's rules.
This series is well worth your time!

Creo que la mejor forma de expresar mis sentimientos por este libro es mediante este emoji: 😕.
No me gusta ser negativa, pero lo voy a ser con este libro. Si bien las entregas anteriores no son la gran cosa, me mantenía prendida al libro por la acción, y porque muchas veces se salía de lo cliché. Si bien sí, los escenarios de acción son cliché, la trama en sí tomaba un giro que no me esperaba, y eso me mantenía ahí, leyendo. Pero este tercer libro... una decepción total, y voy a comentarlo por puntos porque se me hace mejor organizarlo de esa manera. Hay libros y libros con sus respectivas charlas(?).
💣1. La acción: está presente como los libros anteriores, pero ya me parece demasiado el uso de lugares clichés. Yo entiendo que son los lugares que más atrapan a un lector, y que generan adrenalina, pero el lugar solo no genera adrenalina, sino también lo que pasa en el lugar, y eran cosas que... no tenían sentido porque cruzaba el límite total de la fantasía. Si bien ocurren cositas en las peleas que uno dice "esto no puede ser humanamente posible", puede creérselo por el poder del protagonista, y porque te detallan lo utilizado y uno piensa "ok, bueno, en un caso del 1%". En cambio, en este libro, no ocurre, no puede pasar, y los cuidados y variables no tienen sentido. No menciono detalles específicos porque no quiero spoilear, pero así se sintieron, lugares de acción porque sí, porque tenían que estar, y ya.
💣2. Las mujeres: este punto en particular me hizo enojar y cerrar el libro. En los libros anteriores podía entenderlo, comprenderlo, de hecho en el primer libro me gustó el desarrollo, pero luego... hizo BOOM y decayó. Voy a ponerlo como spoiler así no lo mando de una.
💣3. El desarrollo de personajes: no hay. No vi crecer a ninguno, salvo, un poquito pero así 🤏 a Zach, pero nada, eso. No vi algo que evolucione, sino que da vuelta en círculos. El resto de personajes nada.
💣🔥4. El final: no voy a decir nada por obvias razones, pero no me gustó nada. Es decepcionante, demasiado decepcionante, al igual que todas las explicaciones.
No tengo nada positivo para rescatarle, y lamento eso. La trilogía no venía mal, y tampoco es que tenía altas expectativas porque sé que es un libro de acción juvenil, del cual tengo poca experiencia en acción, y no suelo leer juveniles, pero sí sé que pueden ser más light en ciertos aspectos, pero no hay que confundir light con pésimo final, pésimas explicaciones, y momentos repetitivos de acción, con personajes repetitivos, y solo el deseo de hacerlo película. Vi una reseña que justo señalaba esto, el hecho de que el libro parece gritar HÁGANME PELÍCULA Y NADA MÁS y la verdad es que si, coincido.

A remarkable ending to a fantastic series!
I especially loved the character development of our hero, Zach. He is no longer just a killing machine. He is now a leader and friend.

I Am the Traitor is the exciting conclusion to the Unknown Assassin Trilogy. It’s full of just what I’ve come to expect from this series – action, intrigue, double crossing, twists and a dash of romance. In this book, Zach is on the run, trying to discover what really happened to his father all those years ago. In order to do that, he has to rescue Howard, who has been captured and who Zach is sure is being questioned – and possibly worse – so that the Program can find out what Zach knows. Of course, Zach can’t manage this rescue mission completely alone, but he doesn’t know who he should trust. There’s Mike, who claims he wants to help Zach (and now claims that Zach’s father is dead, just like Zach was told all those years ago), and then there’s Tanya, who Zach discovers along with Howard and just can’t bring himself to leave behind. But Zach has learned that going against the Program is very dangerous and every step that he takes might put himself and the people he’s trying to protect in even more danger.
What I enjoyed:
Action and suspense.
Usually, I give multiple bullet points on my likes and dislikes about a book, but everything amazing about this book can be pretty much summed up with this one category. Just like the first two books, this third installment was filled with action and suspense. Zach is pretty much used to running for his life at this point, but this time, he has other people with him that he wants to protect. Then there’s the little matter of trying to figure out who he should trust – it’s almost impossible because everyone has ulterior motives, and Zach is constantly having to calculate the odds to determine whether it’s worth the risk of trusting the people around him. Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn’t. But Zach definitely isn’t willing to give up without finding out what happened to his father. This leads to a lot of action-packed scenes and tons of twists and turns as Zach struggles to learn the truth about his father and about the Program itself. Nothing is as it seems, and Zach is constantly being manipulated – the question is, by whom, and what is their final endgame? Finding out just might cost Zach his life!
The negatives:
The ending.
I was surprised that the ending seemed so open-ended. Not to say that the story that’s been building for the past three books wasn’t sufficiently tied up (it was, rather spectacularly!), but that this book’s ending almost seemed to hint at a completely new beginning. I almost wonder if there’s a spin-off series coming or something?
The romance.
Based on what I know about this series, I had serious difficulties with trusting Tanya. I just kept waiting for her to turn out to be something other than what she claimed to be. And I didn’t understand how Zach could possibly let her guard down around her so quickly because of his past experiences. This made it really hard to get completely on board with the romance portion of the book – I kept waiting for Tanya to turn traitor! (Not telling whether or not that happened, of course.)
Another exciting installment in the Unknown Assassin Trilogy. Zadoff gives us big payoff and a satisfying conclusion! I give this book 4/5 stars.

Still reading, but there's a couple instances that are making me grind my teeth. As Zachary is searching Tanya for a tracking device he makes the mental note that she has the 'breasts of a woman, not a girl.' (We later find out that she is fifteen, makes it even more awkward.) As they are running from The Program, Tanya takes the wheel of the car (after proving herself to be not your typical teenager) and Zachary asks repeatedly if she's sure she wants to drive, as though she couldn't possibly be a competent driver in an emergency.
So teens will love the continued action that goes on throughout the book. The series is very James Bond/Jason Bourne-esque. I personally just started hating Zach as a character, though I'm sure many teens boys will think of him as the best person ever.

For a series that I have heard very little of, I found myself enjoying it immensely. I liked the espionage side of things, the mystery and the characters. This series was certainly not perfect as I had some believability issues with some of the characters’ personalities, specifically the main character’s, and the plot. There were times when things seemed a bit too far-fetched. However, at the end of the day, this series were highly entertaining.
If you enjoy fast-paced books with teenage spies, then I would recommend this series.
For a series that I have heard very little of, I found myself enjoying it immensely. I liked the espionage side of things, the mystery and the characters. This series was certainly not perfect as I had some believability issues with some of the characters’ personalities, specifically the main character’s, and the plot. There were times when things seemed a bit too far-fetched. However, at the end of the day, this series were highly entertaining.
If you enjoy fast-paced books with teenage spies, then I would recommend this series.

I AM THE TRAITOR by Allen Madoff is the third book in a trilogy and I feel it is a suitable finale to end it. While the first two books were slam-bang action tales, this is more of a maturing look at Boy Nobody. The acton is here, the heroics, the life-threatening situations, but there is an added element of humor and more intimate relationships for our young assassin,
The Program tried to remove the humanity from its “soldiers”, making them perfect little killing machines, but in reality, the entire cadre of killers are nothing more than highly trained, yet lost, murderers. When Boy Nobody finds his growing list of questions, especially the one about the reality of his parents “deaths”, coming into the realm of maybe getting some answers finally, he is torn between loyalty and the need to know.
He has a growing friendship with a kid from a past mission, and a possible love relationship with a young woman who puzzles him on so many levels. To see Boy finally coming to grips with his feelings and his past sets up a nice ending. When he finally faces The Program head on, he, and you, will receive shocks and stunning revelations.
In short this is a great ending for this tale of tragedy, death, betrayal, love and friendship. And keep in mind, Boy Nobody does not make it out unscathed.

I’ll try to be as vague as possible since this is the last book in a trilogy full of action sequences, car chases and every typical ingredient we can see in action films. If you enjoy this type of movies, you’re probably going to like this novel as well.
The weakest point of this story relies on the fact that the characters are not plausible, especially our main protagonist who is more like a robot than an actual human being, capable of having a perfect control of his emotions and even his heart rhythm. Despite that fact, the fast moving plot with barely any descriptions make me fly through this novel. Not a master piece but it was OK, perfect for a 24 hour readathon

Ahora que terminé el último libro puedo decir que es una trilogía muy entretenida, de esas que te dan ganas de leer toda la madrugada. La trama al principio me sonó rara, pero una vez que empezás no podés parar. Me preguntaba cómo iba a terminar toda esta historia y, aunque siento que se llegó al final de una forma muy fácil y rápida (puede que sea mi percepción ya que leí muy rápido el último libro), creo que es un final digno para la historia. No soy muy fan de los libros de este género, pero recomiendo leer Asesino anónimo sin dudas

Having kept up with author Alan Zadoff’s The Unknown Assassin trilogy from the very beginning, I was interested in getting to finally see how Boy Nobody’s—or, Zach—story would finally wrap up. Considering the unending action that filled I Am The Traitor’s predecessors, I was excited to delve into a novel that would offer a brand new story that would ultimately make or break the series.
In I Am The Traitor, we are reintroduced to Boy Nobody’s world full of espionage, betrayal, and secrets. His doubts toward the Program are made plain and he has no problem with bringing them down. But Zach’s defiance brings about a whole new problem when he discovers that his old friend and ally, Howard, is in trouble. Forced to look back to his past assignments, Zach is reconnected with past connections, as well as introduced to brand new faces who have also been affected by the Program. What Boy Nobody doesn’t anticipate is that you might not be able to let anybody too close and that the Program, no matter how hard he might fight to escape it, will never be too far behind.
Right off the bat I can say that, like the novels that came before it, I Am The Traitor is filled with action sequences and other badass goodness. I felt right at home reading fight sequences that flowed naturally, watching as Boy Nobody battled against his typical antagonists, and reading about the conflicts that have plagued him in every novel of the trilogy. Like always, if you are a fan of action then The Unknown Assassin trilogy is for you. What accompanies the fast-paced action scenes is a thrilling atmosphere that cannot be ignored and leaves readers on the edge of their seats.
Zadoff’s writing creates a unique world where readers can experience the life of an assassin and realize that it certainly isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. Zadoff’s prose is simplistic and allows for a quick read. While I do wish that there were more instances where descriptors could have been provided, it was easy to establish an idea of the scene in my mind while reading.
However, I will admit that while all of the fighting was awesome, there was no denying the fact that the plot of the novel began to feel a lot like the same old same old. In previous novels, Zach/Boy Nobody has been given an assignment, typically involving a teenage girl, whom he gets close to and inevitably has sexual relations with the girl, before finishing his assignment off and moving on to whatever the Program has given him next.
While Zach is far from pro-Program in this novel, I did feel like the same song and dance was being repeated in I Am The Traitor. If you’ve read the novel, you know what I’m talking about—and if you haven’t and are about to, you will find out. I certainly wasn’t underwhelmed by I Am The Traitor, but I wasn’t blown away either. I’m a firm believer that the final novel in a trilogy should be definitive of the entire series, and that it should leave the reader with an experience that they’ve never had before.
I would recommend The Unknown Assassin trilogy to any readers who are big fans of spy thrillers a la the Bourne movies. Any readers who are looking for an interesting, thrilling read should also give The Unknown Assassin novels a read. Lastly, any readers who are fans of novels that feature major character development across a series should definitely give it a try.

I am the Traitor. I have followed this story from the beginning of the trilogy when I was first introduced to the Unknown Assassin series. I have always been totally enamored of government assassin books and when they have a nice hook in them like the Unknown Assassin books, well, I am even more ready to jump into the story. I received an early copy of I am the Traitor, book 3, in the trilogy from NetGalley. Honestly, I would pay for this series if I had to and sin they are out on audiobook, I will likely be doing just that for my long commute days and transatlantic flights. Allen Zadoff is a gifted writer. He does a great job with perspective. For example, how a normal child should respond to a situation, versus, a child trained as a soldier. How would an adult soldier respond in combat, even against a child?
In I am the Traitor, we continue the Unknown Assassin story where I am the Mission leaves off with our intrepid child soldier, Zach, in a load of trouble, where he has dragged someone he cares about. Now he has to try to determine how he can work his way out of this situation. His only friend, Howard, is missing. He is pretty sure he knows where he is and he has to figure out how to survive and make sure Howard also survives. Zach also has some pretty serious decisions to make about his role in "The Program". He also has his on investigation to make into his and his family's past. These mysteries help make this series what it is, great! Zach, is this well-developed character that, despite the things he has done, we can't help but cheer for, and keep wishing for him to pull through. Throughout the series we keep trying to determine if "The Program" is good or bad and we never really know for sure as sometimes we see reasons why it can be thought of as both. Don't misunderstand, training children to kill is never a good thing, but giving them a home, educating them and protecting them is always a good thing. What you ask for in kind is the issue. Asking for loyalty is not a bad thing to ask for as we are all loyal to our friends and family, and we are always closer to family that we see as being on our side when things are tough.
In I am the Traitor we continue to question the role of "The Program" and its purpose. I have to admit I always had a hidden suspicion about the whereabouts of what and who Zach was searching for and I was right in my guess but the thing about this story is that even when you think you know what is going to happen there is a twist. I have to admit that I was looking forward to a seriously kick-butt fight between Mike and Zach and I feel a bit cheated at how short that fight was but the outcome was another surprise. The action scenes, as well as the chase scenes, were quite exciting. One of my favorite parts was the way the chapter titles was done. I have to admit that the ending was what I hope is a setup for something great to come and I look forward to seeing what the author does with it. As far as final books in a series go, this one is pretty good. This is a series I have loved from the beginning and I'm definitely sad that it's over. In this third and final book in the Unknown Assassin series, we finally get answers and events from the previous two books start to make a whole lot of sense. Even though I am sad that it had to end, I'm actually really satisfied with how the series ended.
Starting with book one, the main character starts to question everything he's been told and taught and that all comes to fruition in book three. At the end of book two he is told a secret and then told it was a lie and sets out to figure out the truth, once and for all. He also has to deal with finding Howard, his unlikely friend from book two, and Tonya, who may not be all that she seems.
One of the things I love most about this series, is all of the action. These books are action packed and non-stop, which makes these books really quick reads. Some of the action scenes and fights were a little over the top, but it didn't really matter to me, it was very exciting.
I really enjoyed how the story was wrapped up. Boy Nobody finally learns the truth about how he got to be in his situation and the person truly responsible. I feel that the story ends in a really good place, that gives me hope that even though we don't get a glimpse into the future, that everyone in the story is in a good place and happy.

Did the third and final book in the trilogy come to a satisfying end? Yes, yes it did.
The shift in loyalties and personalities in this book was exciting and confusing at the same time. I was questioning motives the entire time. We saw a new side of Zach.... HE HAS REAL FEELINGS!!!!!! I was surprised that this is the direction his character developed in, but it made the story more interesting.
Characters:
Zach: I liked the personality change. One that wasn't too drastic to be unbelievable, but more of a development from the emerging warmth I saw in him already. I loved how he came clean to a lot of people about his situation and life.
Tanya: I was so suspicious of her from the start, when we found her with Howard. She seemed pretty shady- turns out she was!!! She was interesting and had a great mix of mystery and emotion in her character. I liked the way she interacted with the boys and that her motives were true in the end.
Howard: ah Howard. Continually getting captured and having to be saved by Zach and Tanya, whilst giving witty remarks and making bad jokes. Anyone else feel a stiles stilinski vibe??? Besides that, I liked the group dynamic with Howard and his smart comments were funny.
Plot:
I think this book was epic. The twists and turns, the mystery and confusion, the character development all kept me on my toes. The changing of locations was interesting too and Zadoff did well in explaining where we were and what was happening.
Writing: same as always, clean interesting and easy to understand :)
All up a fantastic series that I'm glad I read. I don't know if there will be another in the series, if there is I'm going to read it :) Good job Zadoff, you did really well :)

I was surprised that this is the direction his character developed in, but it made the story more interesting.
Characters:
Zach: I liked the personality change. One that wasn't too drastic to be unbelievable, but more of a development from the emerging warmth I saw in him already. I loved how he came clean to a lot of people about his situation and life.
Tanya: I was so suspicious of her from the start, when we found her with Howard. She seemed pretty shady- turns out she was!!! She was interesting and had a great mix of mystery and emotion in her character. I liked the way she interacted with the boys and that her motives were true in the end.
Howard: ah Howard. Continually getting captured and having to be saved by Zach and Tanya, whilst giving witty remarks and making bad jokes. Anyone else feel a stiles stilinski vibe??? Besides that, I liked the group dynamic with Howard and his smart comments were funny.
Plot:
I think this book was epic. The twists and turns, the mystery and confusion, the character development all kept me on my toes. The changing of locations was interesting too and Zadoff did well in explaining where we were and what was happening.
Writing: same as always, clean interesting and easy to understand :)
All up a fantastic series that I'm glad I read. I don't know if there will be another in the series, if there is I'm going to read it :) Good job Zadoff, you did really well :)
