Nearly a year after their deadly honeymoon at the Blue Elk Campground, Brie and Steven Greene are finally trying to start over.
New marriage. New life. Baby on the way.
But four years ago, Brie survived a violent attack she’s never truly escaped.
Now, in the safety of her own home, old fear is turning into something far more dangerous. A missing key. Objects moved. The sickening sense that someone has been inside her apartment.
Steven thinks Brie’s pushing herself too hard. Brie thinks she might be losing her mind.
But she knows the only way out is to face the nightmare she thought she left behind.
It turns out someone hasn't forgotten her. And this time, she isn’t the only one in danger.
THE EMPTY HALLWAY is Book 2 in the “Empty” Thriller Series by Natasha Stone. It is the sequel to THE EMPTY TENT.
***Natasha Stone books are psychological thrillers that may mild violence and themes of abuse, death, and/or kidnapping. But they do NOT sexual content, foul language, rape, or gore.***
Natasha Stone continues her narrative, focusing on a victim from the preceding installment who endeavors to reconstruct her memories and the events of an assault that occurred four years prior. Although I did not have the opportunity to read the first book in this series, I found myself fully engaged with the current storyline, as sufficient background information regarding the protagonist's past trauma was provided. I particularly appreciated the pacing of the narrative, and both Brie and Steven are presented as highly engaging characters. The suspense surrounding the identity of the assailant effectively maintained my interest throughout each chapter.
I was provided with an Advanced Reader Copy by the author, and I highly recommend this work for its compelling narrative and suspenseful elements. I now intend to read Book 2, followed by Book 1. This author consistently delivers exceptional work.

THE EMPTY HALLWAY is a mysterious and fast paced story that grips the reader from the first page to the last. A beautifully written plot, with charming characters. Book 2 in the "Empty" series continues one year after the events in The Empty Tent and is the middle book of a proposed trilogy. In The Empty Hallway, Brie and Steven have moved forward and are happy in their lives. After getting wonderful news the young couple is very much looking forward to their future. Then Brie gets stuck in the elevator of her building and things just keep getting worse from there. It was a nice progression of growth in their relationship for Brie and Steven from book #1. Their honeymoon had started off rough and they seem to have resolved alot of issues in book #2. The Empty Hallway rolls out as a slow burn at first and picks up bit by bit until the conclusion is racing toward you. I did find a few things repetitive and the book did run a bit long for the narrative but a good story none-the-less. I am invested in the characters and am very curious as to how it will all roll out in book #3. I received a copy of this book via the author and I voluntarily leave my opinion of the tale.
Ghost from your past Brie & Steven are happily married with their first child on the way. Things are good, but Brie still has these moments of the hallway, of when she was in another place, and a man attacked her... she used her key to scar his face and get away, then... but now, she is having these moments... She sees the handiman and has these panic moments. Is that the man, the same man? What a way to showcase how real-life trauma comes at you from nowhere, and puts you right back where you were then. Thank you, Natasha Stone, for a good story. I received a complimentary arc copy of this book and this is my honest review.
The Empty Hallway by Natasha Stone is a great 2nd book in the “empty” series. Book number 3 will be coming out May 2026. I am hoping it keeps on going after this one left off. This one is a continuation of The Empty Tent and starts a year after the honeymoon. A little short of 7 hours and 40 chapters just like book number one. Virtual voice is used for the audiobook as well and in my opinion takes away from the book. I will be reading the 3rd book for sure to see how it all ends. Thank you for the ARC.
To say I was riveted from the start would be an understatement I didn't put this book down at all until I finished it it's so good I couldn't drag myself away from it. The twists kept me on the edge of my seat and there's plenty of them to keep you reading and wondering what's going to happen next. I suggest you start off with the 1st book in the series Empty Tent believe me you won't be disappointed.
This is Book 2 in the “Empty” Thriller Series by Natasha Stone.
Brie and Steve are expecting a baby but Brie keeps having memories from the her attack 4 years ago. She starts doing some research to find out exactly what happened to her 4 years ago but Steve thinks maybe leave the past in the past.
This was a good book I enjoy Natasha Stone books.

This is a great psychological thriller. This is a year after their honeymoon at the Blue Elk Campground, where Steven had disappeared and they were trapped by a rockslide. After surviving that, they have moved on, both Brie and her husband Steven. Brie has a past that she doesn’t talk about and in this story, she sees little signs that something is off. Now the reader is led on a ride full of twists and suspense as danger appears to be lurking.
Loved this book! Very hard to put down. This book is just as mmm good as the first one. You will be holding your breath quite a bit just waiting for the next upheaval. You can feel the tension these two are going through. Their married life has not been easy sailing. Be very interesting to see what is around the corner for them. You will not be disappointed with this book.
The second installment in this three-book series offers a strong continuation of the story and keeps the momentum going. While I enjoyed seeing the plot develop and the characters evolve, some sections felt a bit stretched and slowed the pacing. Even so, it held my interest and set things up nicely for the final book.
Brie and Steven are in a new apartment and find out she is pregnant. An attack on Brie 4 years ago and she cannot remember much about it. She reads a woman was killed in the apartment she lived in where she was attacked. Strange happenings occur at their apartment that appears someone has been inside. I could not stop reading this novel, it kept me captivated.
This was a wonderful suspenseful and thought provoking book, that keeps you reading and figuring things out. This was a great book. I recommend the Empty series. Brie and Steven are interesting characters with great back stories.
This was an ARC read that I left a review voluntarily.
So good!! This had me on the edge of my seat. Just when these two thought all was well after their nightmare honeymoon, things start getting weird again. I was gripping my iPad the entire time. The suspense was building, my heart could barely take it. An absolutely amazing story.
This second book in the, "Empty Thriller Series" is very attention grabbing from the first page till the last. Looking forward to reading the third book in the series.
This was a great book. I couldn't put it down. This is the sequel to The Empty Tent... make sure you read that first. It was so good to see how things turned out for Brie and Steven.
This sequel was so good! I read both books in this series (so far... I hope there are going to be more!) and I was not disappointed. There are so many twists and turns I had no idea were coming.
Loved the book, although I think Brie and Steven should have done some things a little differently. Great follow up from The Empty Tent. Highly recommend. Received as an ARC.
