Many people bring spiritual practices into every aspect of their lives--except the boardroom! But spiritual guidance can be used just as easily to help fill the bottom line as it does to fill our hearts and souls.
In The Path to Wealth, entrepreneur May McCarthy will show you how to create a true financial partnership with the all-knowing power in the universe that she calls your Chief Spiritual Officer, or "CSO." This is not a dogmatic book; McCarthy encourages you to partner with a higher power of your own understanding, but she is insistent on one this power is within you and it knows what must happen for you to receive what you want.
In this book you'll learn the job descriptions for both yourself and your CSO, and you'll have a daily road map to help you achieve your financial goals. As you practice these steps daily, you will experience seeming miracles that you never thought possible, all with less effort and more fun. Once you decide what you want, it's the CSO's job to create the path to get you the goods you've defined. Your job is to follow each step in this daily practice and watch as the benefits you want unfold.
May and this book have set me on such an amazing path including releasing my own rockstar romance series this month. The Path to Wealth is not just about financial success, it is about shifting your mindset so that anything you dream about is possible. It is about removing self-imposed barriers to be your best and true self. I've seen May speak, she has become a professional advisor to me and it has been a wonderful and ongoing personal journey for me to meet with my CSO, check in with my CSO and really listen to my intuition about how to achieve all that I desire, and how to truly understand the concept of abundance and how to attract all that is good.
The central idea of McCarthy's book is that by partnering with one's preferred higher power, which she calls the Chief Spiritual Officer (CSO), about financial and career needs and prospects, and by expressing gratitude for not only what you have but what you want, you can achieve wealth/abundance.
After presenting her thesis, McCarthy then lays out a seven step daily ritual to connect with one's CSO, pay attention to intuition and other nudges, and celebrating successes. Then she goes through each step in more depth. She also reminds readers again and again to always look for the highest good and best outcome for everyone involved in any given situation.
McCarthy's actual personal business success, which she says is primarily due to applying this process, lends some weight to her Law of Attraction/Gratitude themes.
Personally, I liked the idea of involving deity in financial/business situations, but the seven step ritual was more than I want to take on.
I read this book with my spiritual study group. I had to get over the business language which I was worried would be an obstacle in gleaning any gems. Of course the author is a business person so this is Her natural language that she uses in her spiritual practice. Once I modified her seven step spiritual discipline practice to my own personal language I found it is a very powerful practice. If you have ever struggled with keeping a daily spiritual practice this book can be of great practical help for practicing: spiritual reading, gratitude, affirmative prayer, visualization, affirmation and forgiveness every single day, that is A LOT of spiritual practice being put into a format that you will be able to find time for even in a busy schedule. I do highly recommend the practice workbook which you can get in hard copy or download from the author’s website.
This is a great book based very much on Florence Scovel Shinn's teachings, it's like they are updated to our times and to an audience with entrepreneurial experiences.
It's great because it's all about a practice that it proposes, and then it expands upon. I've seen it work, hence my 5 stars ☺️
What I liked the most about this book was how the author shared her experiences to the point that this practice becomes almost a lifestyle, it was inspiring.
One of the aspects I appreciate about this book are that there are actionable steps along the way, through the read and to the end. The reader must, in a positive way, be interactive and proactive in order to truly understand the concepts presented. I will re-read this book and look forward to seeing the physical manifestations of the implementation. I have definitely experienced the mental, spiritual and emotional shifts.
i don’t know if interacting with the CSO really resonated with me (which was basically the whole premise of the book oops), but there was a lot of good points in this book. one that stuck with me is: when you’re in a conflict with another party, you don’t have to wish for their downfall or failure in order for you to prevail. there is not a scarcity of good to go around in the universe. rather, wish for good and peace for all parties involved
This book kept calling me back. It is full of wisdom and practical teachings. This way of thinking and acting is taking me some time to learn and be consistent with. Already I know it is worth the commitment on my part. Each day the truths are showing up. Keep it rolling is all I have to say.
May McCarthy has an interesting and non-intimidating way to begin a spiritual practice to help in the area of life we all want to succeed in. Reading this book has given me inspiration and ideas on how I want to start to leaning in more to a daily spiritual practice.
I may bump this up to 5 stars after I've been doing the steps consistently, and seeing results. But I like what I've read and I got such a sense of peace and hope and inspiration reading about the exercises and the examples. This is one book I will be adding to my permanent library!
This book was gifted to me by my coach. It helped me understand the power of journaling and most importantly taught me that I am never alone in my business. Thank you May McCarthy for writing such a wonderful book
I was gifted this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This book kind of reminded me of The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to the Blessed Life. Do y’all remember that book? I read it a long time ago and I remember that I enjoyed it (it was short and made me feel good though I don’t recall fully following through with the steps and such). I imagine that The Path to Wealth would receive similar criticisms like The Prayer of Jabez did. Just like any self-help kind of book, these books are much better in the written form than in the audio form (in my opinion).
In any case, this was a good book and I liked a lot of the messages that were discussed. I kind of liked how it was religion-agnostic so that it could reach any party of people. But, I also like things more tailored towards how I think and feel (just a personal preference). I’ll be honest though – it is really hard for me to find the time that is needed to follow the steps in this book. At this current moment, I really have zero time in my mornings to spend time with this book. As soon as I wake up (super early in the morning) and get things going, I have to hop in the car and drive forever until I get to work.
However, I did find some time a few mornings here and there to go through the steps and I enjoyed my time doing so. I feel that things would be ‘better’ if I continually took time to go through the steps. I really like all of the positive affirmations that this book thrusts upon its readers. Even if people aren’t so sure on the spiritual side of things, this book cites many studies performed scientifically to prove how important positive affirmations are. I think that is a good message in itself. I also liked the forgiveness mantra.
I enjoyed the narrator. She was very clear and audible. She made me think that she was the author delivering me her secrets of wisdom.
The Path to Wealth by May Mccarthy was a worthwhile read. Some insights from the book include partnering with Spirit or CSO as she calls it. Utilizing the power of the spoken word in the form of affirmative gratitude statements in "already achieved state" by writing the statements in a journal and every morning going over them and declaring them is an important practice she recommendeds. She also recommended a visualization practice and giving that which you wish to receive or tithing to your sources of spiritual inspiration. Another important aspect of her teaching is that Spirit or the CSO will help solve our problems and give us intuitive guidance as to what actions to take.
You found this book for a reason. Just get it! Whether you consider yourself a spiritual person or not, there's a message in this book for you. The core principles are universal and you've likely seen them before, but May McCarthy has brought them to life in a way that makes them so much easier to put into action. I recently attended one of her workshops. The exercises in the workshop are the same exercises you'll find in the book. You don't have to be a believer to start using this book. Just try it.
I'm not the author, just the narrator of the audio version. I can honestly say I would have read this book even if it wasn't my job. The Path to Wealth: Seven Spiritual Steps for Financial Abundance is paying off already in many ways. First of all, you live with a focused consciousness of having a spiritual partner in the growth and success of your business. The application of these steps can work for any kind of relationship, and the adjustment of your frame of mind and shift in confidence will be evident right away.
May McCarthy has written a clear, easily understandable blueprint to follow for integrating gratitude and abundance in your life. This book is full of optimism and hope. It encourages the reader to change their thinking for the better.
