*Retribution is the second book in The Lone Riders MC series. It could, feasibly, be read as a stand-alone, but it would be advisable to read book one – ‘Revolution’ – first as some events that took place in that book are tied in with elements of the story in this next instalment.*

Mia Rose has been sent to Paradise for her own safety; to escape a violent marriage, and a man who will stop at nothing to make sure she never leaves his side. Having lived her life within the confines of The Lone Riders Newcastle chapter in north-east England, the move to California is a new beginning for Mia - it has to be, whether she wants it or not. Because she really doesn't have much choice. But for Charlie Hart – President of the Newcastle chapter, and one of the founding members of The Lone Riders MC – it’s a bittersweet act, exiling Mia to another country. And is sending her there, to Paradise, something he should have thought harder about? Given the secret he’s harboured for almost thirty years…

Ben Salter is the Lone Riders’ lawyer – a man who’s looked after the Paradise chapter’s legal affairs for over five years. But he’s also a man with a past he’s worked hard to put aside, a past few know the full extent of; a world he knows he should never go back to. But when he’s given the task of helping the club rid Mia of her violent husband, he finds himself being pulled further back towards that world. And closer to the woman he’s supposed to be helping…

Things have settled down for The Lone Riders since Coby Walker took over as President. All is well within a club that’s seen its share of recent troubles, and an air of calm and peace reign over the Paradise compound. But Mia’s arrival kick-starts a chain of events that threaten to unravel that peace. And as Ben’s world slowly starts to change, and Mia’s past catches up with her in the most dangerous way possible, behind the scenes another sinister act is being carefully planned that could rock the Lone Riders all over again as more shocking secrets are revealed, and a terrifying act of retribution sees lives being changed forever…

*Please be aware that this book, whilst tying up some elements of the story, does leave things open for its continuation in ‘Resurrection’, book 3 in the series.*

***Retribution contains strong language, adult content and some graphic sex scenes. It is therefore suitable only for readers 17+.***

About the author

Michelle Betham

Michelle Betham is an ex-media technician turned author of super-sexy romance, usually involving rock stars, DJs, movie stars, hot businessmen, and bikers. But not usually all in the same book. Yet. A proud indie author, she also has six books published through One More Chapter, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, one of which is a pyschological thriller/romantic suspense written under the pen name of ML Roberts.

Addicted to binge-watching TV shows she struggles to think of a life before Netflix or Amazon Prime, loves music - especially rock and EDM; tattoos – of which she has many; spicy food, superheroes (she's a slightly obsessed Avengers fan-girl who harbours a particularly unhealthy obsession with Captain America), and Keanu Reeves – a crush that’s lasted well over twenty years, and one she blames entirely on ‘Point Break’. The original. She refuses to acknowledge any remake exists.

Her dream is to ride a Harley, visit Las Vegas, and be able to eat any amount of chocolate without putting on weight.

She lives in County Durham, north-east England, with her husband and their West Highland Terrier, Opie - named after her favourite biker in Sons of Anarchy! She can be found, most days, at her desk drinking tea and making up stories.

The lies, deceptions, secrets, revenge and retribution continue in this second book. I would strongly suggest that you read book 1 in the series Revolution (The Lone Riders MC #1) by Michelle Betham before reading this one. This one ends in a cliffy and I have moved on to the final book in the series that is supposed to tie up all of the loose ends from the first two books Resurrection (The Lone Riders MC #3) by Michelle Betham .
In this book we discover some of the good guys are really the bad guys. There's more secrets revealed about several of the club members along with the guilt and repercussions of those secrets. There's more than one couple that we follow in this book and at the end of the book their relationships are really on rocky ground. I'm looking forward to finally getting all of the answers. I must say this author has shown an exceptional ability to keep me on the edge of my seat by revealing one shocking secret after another that I didn't see coming. If you like a book that has a good level of intrigue and suspense along with a dysfunctional club with some very complicated, dysfunctional relationships, this is a book for you. There are a lot of triggers in this series.

Mia is on the run from her abusive biker husband. While she is in Paradise she meets and falls for a lawyer with tattoos who has secrets of his own. There is a big secret revealed in the story, as well as, a plot of revenge from an unexpected source. I was bit loss because I had not read the first book in the series; but I have downloaded today.
