As the years have gone by on the McClane farm, the family has suffered losses, brought forth new life and celebrated the return of old friends. They work with their community to restore unity while offering medical services at Doc’s old practice in town. But some of them wonder if going to town will always be what’s best for their personal safety and the security of the whole family. The teenagers are no longer kids but working, contributing adults who run patrols, hunt, fish and forage for supplies from neighboring towns for the betterment of the group. Making those trips sometimes comes at a price, however, and eventually even the ultimate one. When tragedy strikes and one of their own leaves the farm for good, how will they continue on?And in this next chapter of the family saga, a radio message may just put a wrench in their plans and ruin all hopes of maintaining a peaceful existence on their hidden sanctuary.
I live on a small farm in Ohio where I tend a shabby garden, take care of my crazy horses and chickens and enjoy writing. Check out my website: www.katemorrisauthor.com for recipes from the book, my blog, articles and information about books two and three. Book Two out now.
I am the author of the new trilogy, The McClane Apocalypse. Books one and two are out now. Check them out on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or iBooks.
The McClane Apocalypse, Book One of the series. Follow the McClane family as they struggle to survive on their TN farm. Romantic suspense filled with hot Army Rangers and a broken and beautifully flawed female protagonist. Don't read chapter two if you need to be anywhere any time soon!
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LG8H7KQ The exciting second installment of The McClane Apocalypse is out now!! Fraught with human emotion, complex relationships, and the continued fight for survival, book two takes the reader on a thrill ride that doesn’t let up- not even after the last page has been turned.
I got so caught up in the story that I had a difficult time waiting for book 4, now I have to wait how long for the next instalment.? I am so hooked on each personality, wish they would make a movie. There is enough action, mystery, romance, and dark in the light to make a true saga come to life.
This book had lots of detail of daily life after the world falls apart, plus it is building to greater adventure and a reunion. Thanks you Kate Morris.
I was not sure what to expect, but was not disappointed. My only question throughout the whole book that was not answered was what happened with Sue's pregnancy at the end of the third book, it was only hinted that she could not have more children- maybe a short story between this book and the next? I guess I do have one disappointment, the next book isn't completed yet!
Another addition to an outstanding series. It just gets better and better. The author has created an outstanding series that focus on relationships and family. Character development is rich and full and all of the characters are very three dimensional. I have become very attached to these character, their stories and struggles. You do not have to be a syfy or post-apocalyptic fan to find the stories and characters interesting, believable and enduring.
I loved this series. The progress from first after lights out til now is about four years. Gas is getting harder to scavenge ( and going bad I would think, but that isn't addressed in this series). The McClane's have long been without sugar, but make do in a way none of us can hope to unless we own a sanctuary farm before lights out.
Another hit! I love this series. I can't wait to read more about Sam, Simon, Cory, and Paige. I'm disappointed that I read the book so quickly. I'm definitely on the lookout for new books by this author.
was a bit disappointed with this one, not as good as the last three. It didn't seem to find its stride and lacked the suspense the others had. it wasn't terrible just didn't hold my attention like the other three in the series did.
Great read and a great series. Enjoyed the character development and story lines. The struggle to stay alive but retain humanity in the face of depravity..
It has been a long time since I have enjoyed a series as much as the McClane Apocalypse. This was book 4, I have book 5 ordered. I can only hope that there is a book 6 by the time I am done with 5.
Book 4 was a big pill to swallow being 3-4 years later and kicks off with a character death. All the same core are included along with exciting new ones. Cory could have been his own spin off book. If ever to make it to TV, I suggest his story be in between other seasons of the show. Author kept the same pace with uncertain relationship teasing paired with thrilling scary action. I thoroughly enjoy the pieces of homesteading life sprinkled throughout everything. Already onto book 5.
