This book feels like sunscreen, chaos, and the kind of questionable decisions you only make when a hot man dares you to “live a little.”

This is a 3.5‑star, breezy, sun‑soaked rom‑com that reads like a vacation you take after a mental breakdown — fun, chaotic, and full of moments where you think, “Wow, I would absolutely die doing this.”

Paige is an indie writer with a confidence problem, a famous mother, and the emotional stability of a wet tissue. After her law‑school internship ends in a stapler‑related catastrophe (iconic), she flees to Hawaii to “find inspiration,” which is code for “avoid her problems until the ocean fixes her.”

Enter Griff — adventure guide, walking thirst trap, and the human embodiment of “don’t think, just jump.” He challenges Paige to hunt down a legendary red plumeria for her next book, but let’s be honest: the real challenge is Paige trying to survive his itinerary without crying, puking, or falling in love.

The vibes are immaculate:
• tropical chaos
• flirty banter that should come with SPF 50
• Paige nearly dying every time Griff says “trust me”
• Griff being smug about it
• emotional growth sneaking in like a rogue wave

There’s humour, heart, and a few deeper moments tucked between the snorkelling, hiking, and Paige’s ongoing attempts not to embarrass herself. Griff’s backstory adds weight, and Paige’s arc — from anxious writer to someone who actually steps into her own story — is sweet and satisfying.

You land at 3.5 stars because it’s cute, escapist, and fun, but also very “rom‑com lite.” The stakes are soft, the pacing occasionally wanders, and some emotional beats could’ve hit harder. Still, it’s a tropical, feel‑good read with a heroine you root for and a hero who could probably sell sunscreen just by existing.

A bright, beachy adventure about creativity, courage, and letting yourself bloom — even if you trip over your own feet on the way there.

"Adventure Off the Printed Page" is a romantic comedy in book form, and it is absolutely delightful! The writing is wonderfully descriptive and made me wish that I was there!

Paige leaves behind her uninspiring law career to pursue her dream of becoming a writer, following in the footsteps of her famous author mother. While her first book is a success, she struggles to write her follow-up novel. Part of her challenge stems from a lack of confidence, particularly when she compares herself to her mother, along with a fear of stepping outside her safe little life.

Enter her best friend Lynette and her loving grandmother, Grams, who decides to finance a trip to Hawaii for Paige, hoping it will inspire her and encourage her to embrace life a little more.

To that end, adventure guide Griff comes into the picture. He helps Paige push her boundaries and try new experiences as she searches for the elusive red plumeria flower, which has become central to her novel. Paige believes that if she can find it, everything will fall into place.

However, Griff also carries secrets that could jeopardise Paige's newfound confidence in him and their friendship.

I loved the character growth in this book, as Paige became much more confident in herself and her abilities to cope

Nearly impossible to put down, “Adventure Off the Printed Paige” is a well-written mix of romance, comedy, and self-discovery. Paige is an indie author who fears flying and trusting. She has a strained relationship with her mother, also an author (though where Paige is at the beginning of her author journey, Corrine A. Sheppard is best-selling). Her best friend Lynette and Grams won’t let her hide in the relative safety of her comfort zone.

Enter Griff, an adventure guide who does his level-best to convince Paige to live outside of her books. Between the beauty of Hawai‘i and his persistent patience, Paige embarks a journey of discovery.

The character growth in this book was fantastic. I loved seeing Paige go from doubting herself (gee, thanks, Clark…) to finding her footing. I do wish we’d seen more of Grams and Lynette, but when they were on the page, they were perfect. 10/10, no notes.

The imagery in the narrative was so so so good. It brought forth mental pictures so clear, it made me wish I was in Hawai‘i.

Definitely recommend this book.

Paige is living in her mom’s shadow trying to prove herself. To give justification on why she dropped out of law school to be a fiction writer. Just one problem: she's terrified to truly live life.
Which brings the reader to the story the author created in Adventure of the Printed Paige. A cute story of one’s self discovery and overcoming fears while living out the adventure romances she writes about.
I can relate to Paige’s fear of flying as it’s a deep fear of my own. It’s kept me from doing things I would love to do and sticking to places I can drive too. Having a friend like Lynnette to pull her out of her shell is what we all need.
A Hawaiian adventure that she just couldn’t get to come together on the page. No matter how much research she did, it wasn’t working like her last 2 books. Trying to get her feet wet as a fiction novelist while trying to separate herself from her mom’s success as an offer has been difficult for Paige. However she refuses her mom’s help and stubbornly intends to do it on her own. A book signing gone array is exactly what leads her to being ambushed by her best friend and gram sending her on the adventure of a lifetime.
Upon finally arriving in Hawaii Paige had a mission but one she was determined to complete without taking too many risks. That is until she met Griff. The adventure guide currently at her resort agreed to help her under 1 condition, she had to trust him and live a little adventure under his guidance. She would finally be getting firsthand experience on the things she wants to write about and that’s terrifying to her. Also just as terrifying is the slight attraction she has to Griff. A spark when they touch and we see what happens from there.
Is she determined to find the ungettable get, the red pulmeria flower?
Will she actually take a minute to enjoy the adventures Griff is going to lead her on?
So many questions but the way it’s written I feel as the reader we just need to experience what’s on the page with the character. Are the answers there sure but just enjoy the ride!

Adventure Off the Printed Page by Kelly Swan Taylor reminds me why I love rom-coms so much.

Paige is an indie writer who left behind a promising law career to follow her dream of writing and starting her own publishing company. But she calls her anxiety about failing “The Great Fear,” and it makes her question her choices. On top of that, her mom is a best-selling author, so Paige wants to be recognized for her own work, not just as her mother’s daughter. Her Grams and her best friend, Lynette, team up to help her find her creativity again and face her fears.

Paige travels to Hawaii partly to search for a rare plumeria she wants to include in her new novel. Griff, the resort’s adventure guide, offers to help her find it if she joins him on a daily adventure that he chooses. As they spend time together, Paige learns to experience adventures herself rather than write about them. By the end of the book, she has changed a lot. The romance builds slowly, but their chemistry is clear from the start. I loved seeing their relationship develop.

This book is a rom-com, but it’s also full of heart and emotion. As the story progresses, both Paige and Griff have family issues to work through, which add depth. One of my favorite parts was Taylor’s note at the end. That’s when I realized the book is her love letter to Hawaii. It’s beautiful, and the message about living life rather than just watching it go by is one many people need to hear.

This is one of those rare books that grabbed me from the very first lines. Taylor’s writing really pulls you into the story. I could picture Hawaii’s beauty, hear the waves, and almost feel the sand and salt. It’s the best rom-com I’ve read in a long time, and I can’t wait to read more of her books soon.

This is a great read which would be perfect for a summer beach read. It was perfect for sitting in the sun and escape everyday life by joining Paige on her journey of self discovery. It was a great mix of romance, comedy and self discovery. The characters were written in a way that complemented each other and I love how Griff pushed her past her limits and opens her up to new experiences.

Paige is struggling, after an incident means she leaves her law internship she decides to follow her passion and become a writer. However with pressure to be as good as her mother (already a writer) she finds she struggles with writers block and going through heartbreak makes the task seem impossible. So Paige’s friend convinces her a holiday is beautiful Hawaii is just what she needs.

Enter Griff the tour guide who opens Paige’s whole world. Not only is she attracted to him but he is determined to push Paige past her boundaries and open her eyes to all that is available to her if she is brave enough to try.

This was a captivating story of self discovery and all the magic that is possible if you are brave enough to go past your limits that you believe you have. I enjoyed this read and it was perfect for this time of year.

Adventure Off the Printed Paige by Kelly Swan Taylor

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Adventure Off the Printed Paige is a fantastic read. Being someone who likes writing myself on my spare time, this book hit home for me. You have to have adventure in your life if you’re a writer it doesn’t matter the genre. I will definitely be looking for more books by the author.

Paige isn’t sure where her writing is going to go. So her bestie decides that she’s going to treat her to a vacay. That is until her grandmother overhears her saying that she was taking a flight. Then her grandmother pays for both her and her bestie to go on an adventure. The quote I chose for her is this: “Um, yeah. The best. She’s basically family. Knows me better than I know myself, which is annoying. You ever have a best friend like that?”

Griff is an adventure tour guide, but then he meets Paige. The author who holds her heart closely. Once he gets to know her then all is well. The quote I chose for him is this: “Ah. A Hawaiian vacation. We don’t sleep in here. Too eager to enjoy all this. Your adventure awaits.”

Paige has always enjoyed writing and with a mother who an author I wasn’t surprised …

She graduated college , with honours , pre - law with a business degree but after working at corporate law firm and being “attacked” by a stapler and an angry client she quits and wants to write full time much to the consternation of her dad 🙈anyhoo she hit a writers block and Lynette her best friend thinks she needs a change of scenery , gran gets wind of it and ban they’re heading to Hawaii ! While Lynette has no qualms of flying poor Paige is petrified 🥹

Once in Hawaii they set out to find adventure guide Griffin and let’s just say he’s easy going and easy on the eye 😉a little eye candy has never hurt right ?!

Griffin tries his level best to get Paige to see life bring her books and he’s so patient and he gets past the damage Clark has done 🫣he gets her to believe in herself and go on a journey of self discovery 🤗

What a beautiful and fun read , such a beautiful setting and yes I looked up “ Red Plumeria” and what a beaut 😉I laughed hard and had such fun with these characters 🤗🥰

Paige Shephard left law school to pursue a writing career, but she doesn't want to be compared to her mom, who is also an author, so she writes under the name PC Shephard. She's stuck! Trying to write a book about a rare flower in Hawaii. The best research is to actually go searching for it, but there's a kicker, Paige is scared to fly and will not go. Her best friend and Grams work together to get her to take the adventure! So, off the go!

Once they are in Hawaii, they meet Griff, an adventure guide who has a secret of his own. Paige has asked him to help her find the rare flower, but he has a request of his own.......to enjoy herself and try new things. Paige leaves her comfort zone and as she is "adventuring" her nose stays glued to her little research notepad, but Griff's advice .... look up and experience the adventures!! Can she get over her trust issues or will she go back to her home without anything gained from the experiences she had.

This was a cute easy to read rom com.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and she has a new fan. I love a good romance stand alone but this story exceeded my expectations. You will fall in love with these characters right from the start. I could not put this book down until the end. The story will suck you in right away. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing book. I can’t wait to see what this amazing author will write next.

Paige Corrine Shepherd was going to law school but a disaster happened. She now wants to pursue her true passion of writing. Paige wants to come out of her mothers shadows so she writes under a pen name. When she gets the go ahead to write she gets blocked on what to read. One of Paige’s friends book a trip to Hawaii so she can get inspired to write again. Paige meets the very handsome Griff. He is an adventure guide for Paige and sparks fly right away. She gets to know the real Griff and she starts to have feelings for him. Will she find her happy ever after or will she always be in the shadows?

Adventure Off the Printed Paige by Kelly Swan Taylor.
4 of 5 Stars.

An enjoyable and engaging romantic comedy adventure which kept me happily turning the pages. Indie writer Paige Corrine Shephard is suffering from writers block and a broken heart, so she heads off to sunny Hawaii to rekindle her creativity. Adventure guide Griff is both handsome and charming and agrees to help Paige find the elusive red plumeria. However, she has to be brave enough to agree to his wild adventure. Together they navigate breathtaking tropical landscapes, challenges and lots of flirty banter, along with their growing attraction. This is a fun and heartwarming rom-com. Both Paige and Griff are likeable and relatable characters, whose chemistry sizzles off the page. The descriptive narrative brings the hot, sunny, picturesque Hawaii vividly to life. This is the perfect read for some escapism whilst on holiday, either on the beach or at home.

Paige Corrine Shepard, or P. C. Shepard as her readers know her, has hit a brick wall with her writing. She feels like she hasn't been able to find any kind of inspiration. Where she was once a law student and had a job as an intern at a prestigious law firm, she quit that job to pursue her true passion: writing. Her mother has been a best selling author for years and Paige is not only just starting out but she is an indie author. Her best friend Lynette tries to get her out and experience more of life, but when you are afraid to trust people and you're afraid of flying you're kind of limited. Lynette finally succeeds and gets her to go to Hawaii. While there she meets an adventure guide named Griff. He is everything I feel that Paige wants to be but is afraid of. Paige not only finds herself on the trip but potentially love as well. Will this trip be enough to give her inspiration for her next book?

Adventure Off the Printed Paige was a fun read. The story follows Paige, a former student of law turned author, as she gets pulled into a literary adventure that blurs the line between fiction and reality. Paige does a lot of research on the adventures her characters take, but never really has one of her own. Finally, she is talked into having one of her own adventures, but this adventure leads her to more than just a story; it leads her into a world filled with mystery, danger, and unexpected connections.
I enjoyed the fast pace, character building, and creative way the story explored the power of stories and imagination. The characters were likable and easy to root for. There was also a nice balance of adventure, humor, and heartfelt moments throughout, especially with her tour guide, Griff. If you enjoy cozy fantasy adventures with literary themes, charming characters, and a touch of passion, you would like this one.

I absolutely loved this book! Not only is it a good slow burn romance but you can tell that the author really did so much work on this book. I was sucked in quick and couldn't wait to finish it. I really loved the playlist too!! How cool is it to have a playlist to go with a book so you can really get into not only the characters minds and situations, but you also get to know the author a little more with it too. Or at least I feel that way. I can't wait to read more! In this book you meet Paige who basically just ended her law school career and has tried to follow her dream of writing. Trying to do this under a different name because her mother is a big author hinders her some because of course she could use that, but she wants to do this. She knows she can. She just has to get out there and have an adventure. Write what you know type thing. Well enter in her best friend who pushes her when she needs. Pushing her right into a trip where she will be forced to have fun and adventures. I LOVE this friend!! I have two like her and sometimes we do need a push! So enter in Griff who is a guide of the area and agrees to help her, but she has to go on crazy wild adventures with him. In turn her will try and help her find a rare flower for her next novel. Breathtaking views, tropical areas, and adventures that will change her life! Learning to live her own story helps her find herself. But can love bloom even when the past is uncovered?? Such a great book! You have to read it!! Trust me, it won't take you long. You'll be sucked in and gripped until you finish! Lol.

Adventure Off the Printed Paige by Kelly Swan Taylor. This is such a fun read. It's the story of Paige who has been going to Law school but after working in a Law office she decides that is not what she wants to do. She loves to write but has hit a writer's block. Her best friend and her grandmother decide she needs to have adventure in her life if she's going to write about stuff. Her Grandmother arranges for them to go to Hawaii and the adventure begins. When Paige meets Griff who is their adventure guide there are sparks. Griff brings out the best in Paige he wants her to experience things not just go thru the motions. They end up having a ball but neither Griff nor Paige set out to get in a relationship but they can't help how they feel. Griff and Paige are both keeping secrets from each other as well. How will they be able to be together if they can't trust each other? Such a fun romance!

I enjoyed reading this romance story. This is a newer author for me in which I enjoyed their use of details that made the characters full of life. This is a story about finding yourself that has a twist of romance and suspense added to it. Paige’s true passion is writing. The problem is, she has writer's block. Griff is an adventure guide who is willing to help with her writer's block but she has to brave the adventure with him. What happens with them you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed both characters and what they added to the story. They are connectable, well developed characters that even had me chuckle here and there. I also enjoyed watching their growth from beginning to end. I found this a fast paced, engaging story that is hard to put down. This is a great story that I highly recommend.

Adventure Off the Printed Page by Kelly Swan Taylor is a bit of a breezy, feel-good escape that’s equal parts NA (new adult) romance, wanderlust, and a journey of (self-) discovery.
Paige is a writer who is more comfortable behind her keyboard than in the wilds of life, but her life is about to get a bit of an unexpected shake up when she is swept into a whirlwind ‘quest’ after meeting Griff (the charming and maddeningly confident adventure guide with a knack for pushing her limits). From lush landscapes to laugh-out-loud mishaps, the story sparkles with witty banter, slow-burn chemistry, and moments that make you want to pack a bag and chase your own “red plumeria.”
So, get set for a sun-soaked, heart-thumping romp that’s as much about finding courage as it is about finding love and is perfect for fans of flirty banter and armchair adventures.
Happy Reading…

This was a fun story of travels through Hawaii. I have lived there in and visited a few times and I love Hawaii so this was a nice read though some of my favorite places! Paige was in law school and dropped it all so she could write novels. She is an indie author and working hard to write another novel, unlike her mom who is a best selling author. Paige and her best friend head to Hawaii for adventure and research for her new book. They meet Griffin, the 5 star Adventure Guide, who works for the hotel. He works with the kids, runs camps, and gives surf lessons. Paige and Griff start hanging out and going on adventures to find an exotic flower that is one of legends. They have a lot of fun, go on hikes, and travel around the islands in search of the flower. Paige finds herself and gets enough life experience to be able to write her book.

I had only read one book by this author before, but I remembered enjoying the author’s style, so I picked this one up as well. I loved this book SO much more than I expected! The characters were incredibly well-developed, and I found myself fully invested in them right away. Paige and Griff have such insane chemistry, you won’t be able to pull away. It’s so addictive! I wasn’t expecting this to be a one-day read, but there I was, ignoring all of my responsibilities to finish this amazing story! The flow is just natural, so it allows the pacing to be steady and interesting. Somehow the author made Hawaii sound even more beautiful than I already knew. It makes you want to pack your bags immediately and jet off to the beautiful islands. If you’re ready to have an adventure with both humor and deeper emotions, don’t pass this one up. It is such a cozy rom com!

Adventure Off the Printed Paige by Kelly Swan Taylor was such a fun and imaginative read. I loved the creative concept of diving into the world of books and adventure, and the story kept me entertained from beginning to end. The characters were engaging, relatable, and easy to root for, and the writing had a playful charm that made the pages fly by.

What I enjoyed most was the sense of wonder throughout the story. It felt like a celebration of books, storytelling, and imagination in a way that really resonated with me as a reader. There was humor, heart, and enough excitement to keep me invested the whole time.

This was a delightful escape, and I’ll definitely be looking for more from Kelly Swan Taylor in the future

This book was such a fun and charming little escape. It pulled me in right away and honestly felt like stepping into a story where anything could happen.

The adventure aspect kept things exciting, but what really made it special was how imaginative everything felt. It had that playful, almost magical vibe that made me smile while reading. The characters were easy to like, and I found myself rooting for them the whole time.

I also have to say, Kelly Swan Taylor’s writing style is so engaging—it flows easily and makes the whole story feel light, fun, and hard to put down.

If you’re looking for something cute, creative, and just a little bit magical, this is definitely worth picking up 📖✨

This book is a perfect beachy read to kick off your summer. I definitely didn't want to put it down once I picked it up, and was never happy when the real world interrupted.

Paige is the type of main character I love. She is relatable and the type of girl that I could see being a best friend if she were a real person. When Paige decides to go on a tropical vacation with her best friend, Lynette, she is looking for a bit of adventure (and a rare flower) while doing research for her next book. When Paige meets Griffin, who is the Adventure Guide for the hotel Paige and Lynette are staying in, he quickly gets her out of her comfort zone in exchange for helping her look for a flower that he believes to be extinct.

I love that this was a quick read that I never wanted to leave.

Adventure Off The Printed Paige follows independent author Paige, who is flown by her grandma and with her best friend to an island in Hawaii to gain inspiration for the adventure romance book she’s writing. There, she meets five star adventure guide, Griff, who teaches her how to live life, and not just write about it. My favourite character was Griff. Blond? Surfer? Adventure guide? That’s the perfect man. My least favourite character was Clark. It’s okay Paige, we’ve all been there. I recommend this book because it’s a cute love story with an inspirational message. I wish we got to see more of Griff and Paige in the relationship stage, though. “To a life of adventure—here and wherever it leads.”

After a disastrous law school internship, Paige Shephard takes the opportunity to become a writer. However having a best selling author as a mother makes it hard to get out of her shadow and make her own name. Heartbreak does not help matters either.

When her best friend Lynette and Grans find out, they decide to go to Hawaii to help Paige with her creativity. Paige is scared of flying but is better once they reach their destination.

Griff is an adventure guide who tries to help Paige live. He is very patient and I just love him.

This was such a great story and I could not put it down. Paige was so much fun to read and see how she developed and came into her own.

Recommend for the romance, story and beautiful descriptions of Hawaii, a place I want to go one day.

This was such a fun quirky story. I had a blast reading it. I don’t know about anyone else but I love when authors make their main characters authors and show what they go through. I know it’s a work of fiction but there has to be some baseline of truth in it. With that being said, Paige was such an awesome character to get to know. Throughout the book I kept saying same girl. Her character is so relatable almost like one of my friends. As someone who is in the midst of changing careers finding your footing can be challenging. And to add romance to the mix? Thai story really checked every box for me on what a romance story should include. Humor ✅ relatable characters ✅ perfect location ✅ I highly recommend this book to all romance lovers.

This book is a fun rom-com style story about a young women determined to make it on her own in the world of writing. I loved how easy it was to engage with this book, and how easy it was to become invested in the characters – particular Paige! I thought the author managed to bring a real sense of adventure to her journey and the whole thing was entertaining and great to read about.
I enjoyed the overall storyline too. It was well written and one of those perfect easy reads for that lazy afternoon curled up with a good book. It is the kind of story I find myself getting caught up in and not realising how fast I am reading it until it is done. This was a great story and a great introduction to this author.

Kelly Swan Taylor wrote an adorably addictive story about a writer immersing herself in adventure, along with her best friend and their hot as sin tour guide, to help her newest novel along. The writing itself is so well done, and there is always a bit of irony for me when reading about a writer.
The tension and dialog were completely captivating and made it hard for me to put my kindle down, I loved every minute of it. The pushy best friend made me laugh too.
So many things about this book I want to mention but it would be giving too many spoilers, so my recommendation is to read it for yourself and love these characters as much as I do!

Paige is a new adult at the beginning of her writing career who just doesn't know how to start believing in herself. After fights with her mother, a best-selling author, and a series of unfortunate events, she is ready to give up. Not willing to let that happen, her friends arrange a visit to Hawaii.

Once they get there, they get an adventure guide named Griff. It turns out Griff is just what Paige needs to push her out of her comfort zone and start to trust herself again. As the beautiful visuals, the laughs, the flirting, the adventures all weave together it leads to a beautiful, fun story that you'll be unable to put down!

Adventure Off the Printed Paige was such a fun and feel good read! The Hawaiian setting was vivid and made me want to book a beach vacation immediately, and I really enjoyed watching Paige step outside her comfort zone and grow into herself. The mix of adventure, romance, humour, and heartfelt moments kept the story moving at a great pace, and Griff was the perfect charming love interest. I also liked the writer-themed storyline and the message about taking chances in real life instead of just dreaming about them. A couple parts felt a little predictable, but overall it was an entertaining, uplifting rom-com with great chemistry and plenty of tropical charm.

This was such a breezy romance novel. The book is about Paige, an aspiring author living in the shadows of her mom, a best selling author. There are big shoes to fill and lot of expectations. Her friends push her to an adventure in Hawaii. The shy, behind the computer girl gets a taste of a whirlwind romance , when she meets a confident adventure guide Griff, who pushes her limits. With a series of mishaps in the breath taking landscapes of Hawaii, this beautiful romance unfolds between totally two different characters. With their witty banter and slow romance, this book is a sure shot win. I loved it !!
