This book feels like a love letter written in dim stage lights, old scars, and unfinished memories 🖤🎸✨

A gothic rockstar romance?
Childhood connection reunited years later?
Art, obsession, and love threaded through grief and survival??

Yeah… this completely consumed me.

What stood out to me most is how deeply emotional and atmospheric this story feels. There’s this constant undercurrent of nostalgia and longing running through every chapter, like both characters are haunted by versions of themselves they left behind years ago.

And honestly??
That emotional weight made the romance hit SO much harder.

Sam was such a compelling MMC.

Restless, emotionally messy, creative in that self-destructive artist kind of way—and clearly carrying memories he’s never fully escaped from. The way his graphic novel slowly blurs into reality adds this haunting layer to the story that makes everything feel intimate and slightly unraveling in the best way.

Then there’s Briar 🖤

Quietly resilient. Creative. Emotional without ever feeling weak.

The reveal that Lachrym is Briar—the girl who once helped him survive one of the darkest periods of his life—completely shifted the emotional intensity of the story for me.

Because suddenly this isn’t just romance.

It’s recognition.
Memory.
Two people finding each other again after years of carrying pieces of the same pain.

And the slow burn??
Absolutely beautiful.

Nothing about their relationship feels rushed or performative. It builds through shared history, quiet understanding, artistic connection, and all the things they never stopped carrying for each other.

The gothic atmosphere throughout the book also worked SO well. Tour life, stage lights, ritualistic imagery, graphic novel symbolism, emotional obsession—it all blends together into something haunting and strangely tender.

✨ If you love:
• gothic rockstar romance
• childhood connection / reunion romance
• artistic, emotionally damaged characters
• slow-burn emotional intensity
• atmospheric stories full of longing and devotion

This one is haunting, intimate, and deeply romantic in the most quietly devastating way 🖤✨

I had the absolute pleasure to receive an ARC from the author of the book and am leaving an honest review.

This is such a vulnerable and emotional read. The nostalgia and the longing are felt throughout the book.

This is the story of Sam and Briar. Childhood friends and survivors, who lost touch for a long time, only to find each other in the most peculiar way: Sam is writing a graphic novel about devotion that feels like harm and is consumed by the drawings of a digital artist named Lachrym, Briar’s pseudonym. After being confronted by his friends about taking better care of himself, he offers this artist a contract to work together for a few weeks. Briar is legally blind and decides to take this opportunity and travel. After navigating two big airports, she gets to her destination and meets Sam again.

This story is slow paced, charged with longing and nostalgia and heavy in vulnerability and emotions. The progression of their relationship from friends to lovers feels so effortless. Like meant to be. I love that their conversations and connection outshined everything else.

I would definitely recommend if you love rockstar romances with a tender golden retriever MMC and lots of emotion and vulnerable moments. It’s a beautiful story of survival, honesty and love.

Thank you Rhayne for letting me be on this ARC Team.

4.5 stars.
This is my fourth book by Rhayne Ardor and honestly, whenever I need a break from all the chaos, darkness, and heavy angst, I find myself going back to her stories… and Stitching Devotion was no different. This book felt soft, emotional, comforting, and quietly beautiful in a way that sneaks up on you. Sam and Briar’s story isn’t loud or dramatic; it’s intimate, tender, and filled with a connection that survives time, pain, and distance. Their history naturally unfolded, from surviving the hardest moments together as kids to finding each other again years later surrounded by music, memories, and unfinished feelings. The gothic atmosphere mixed with the Rockstar setting worked so well, and the graphic novel element made the story feel even more personal and unique. And the end, they chose each other as if they borrowed time just to be together again: the Fox and the Bat. A lovely story that leaves you feeling happy and satisfied, that even love can be found in the saddest of setting… Rhayne Ardor has a way of writing emotions that simply feel real, and this romance felt inevitable from beginning to end. Slow burn, emotional, healing, comforting, and beautifully written.

ARC review
Sam, a drummer of a metal band hires Briar to illustrate his graphic novel. He however had no idea he was exchanging late night emails with the girl he met in the hospital a decade ago. When they reconnect they navigate their shared past, creative collaboration and their growing attraction between them.
Rhayne delivers a fresh and intriguing premise with Stitching Devotion. The idea of a musician and an artist reconnecting through a creative project is original and captivating. The slow reveal of Briar’s identity and the emotional weight of their shared past add depth and tension to the story.
I loved the inclusivity in the book with Brair being legally blind and Sam being a transplant survivor. The moments between Brair and Sam felt real and heartfelt.
The pacing of the story is a bit uneven. The first half of the book drags slightly, with repetitive scenes of Sam and Briar exchanging emails and navigating their creative collaboration. The second half picks up, but the transition between their reconnection and their romance feels rushed. A few more scenes focusing on Sam and Briar’s emotional connection would have added more depth to their relationship.
This book is a tender romance with lovely character development and focus on art and music.

Sam is a famous rockstar touring with his best friend’s band, Arcadian Dreams, while trying to finish writing a book with Lachrym, the collaborator keeping him up all night thanks to impossible time zones. To make things easier, Morgana and the band invite Lachrym to join them on tour for five weeks.

After negotiating the details, Lachrym accepts—but the surprise comes when Sam realizes Lachrym is actually Briar, a beautiful woman from his past. I won’t spoil their history, but it adds a lot to the story.

As the tour continues, Briar befriends Sadie, Sam’s girlfriend, while Sam starts catching feelings for Briar. I appreciated that Sam ended things with Sadie before pursuing anything else, though her lack of response felt a little unresolved.

My biggest issue was that the book is very dialogue-heavy. Some conversations were emotional, funny, and really well written, but at times it felt like not much else was happening.

Still, I enjoyed the story, loved the ending, and would definitely recommend it. A solid 4-star read for me.

As I read the last paragraph of STITCHING DEVOTION, I realized I was grinning. Interestingly enough, this was just one of at least a dozen times I’d found myself with a toothy smirk or full on smile making my cheeks ache. Sam and Briar’s story is incredibly touching and a little bit heartbreaking. Calm for a rockstar book, the banter between the bandmates is pure entertainment. Great read.

I received a copy of this book from the author for the ARC campaign.

Stitching Devotion is book 1 of Rhayne Ardor's Rockstar romance series, Arcadian Dreams. This saga of Rockstar romances is separate from the Glass Eden saga, but I think they are in the same universe (iirc).

The pacing was amazing. All the events, dialog, and chemistry felt natural. We have representation of medical survivors, tension, shared trauma, and reunions. The story of Sam and Briar combines the macabre with a love story that could only come from the mind of Rhayne Ardor.

Spice level is very mild. Which honestly is a plus as th rest of the story was able to shine with the physical side of Sam and Briars relationship enhancing what is already on the page.

I can't wait for this to go live for everyone to read.

I give it 3.75 ⭐️

This book is a rockstar romance about Sam and Briar who unexpectedly reconnect after having known each other earlier in life.
The story is mostly about how their shared history slowly comes back to the surface while they begin collaborating in the present. Their relationship develops gradually through their contact, shared projects, and everything that arises between them as they get to know each other again.
A well-written and heartfelt romance with strong chemistry between the main characters and a story that is largely built on their shared past and creative connection.

Thank you so much Rhayne and BookSirens for letting me be a part of the team. ❤️🌺

This is my first book by this author, but it will not be my last. "Rockstar" is my favorite genre. Although this novel did not go into the genre much it still was very interesting. It was kinda of obvious what was going to happen, the way it happened was what held my attention. The relationship between Sam and Briar was beautiful Thank you BookSirens for the advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It's 4.5⭐️
I had received an ARC from the author. Stitching devotion is a slow burn, has spice but most importantly it's a beautifully atmospheric read that delves into the feral nature of true devotion and the courage it takes to be seen. I love how the chemistry between our main characters formed and it was beautiful for me

The thing that appealed to me about this book was the unique relationship between the MCs. I enjoyed the banter in their group chat and laughed out loud. It feels like you're in on an inside joke…..until the romance started up and then it morphed into every other Romance and we barely hear anything about all the things that made them special.

I received a complimentary copy of this book.
