Jordin I was about to marry someone I didn’t love. While his success could catapult my career in journalism, it did nothing to make me want to live out my happily ever after with him. He wasn’t my one. I knew that the moment the man who loved me with everything in him was taken away from me. I knew I could never love another like I loved him, but I had to move on, even when I couldn’t have the one man who made my world spin off its axis and land into the palm of his hands.
Zion The moment those bars closed behind me, I knew things were about to change. When the judge gave me fifteen years, my only thought was Dinny, and how I had failed her. I didn’t want her to do that time with me, but I assured her that once I was released, we were going to get back what we had lost. I warned her multiple times not to take another man seriously. Apparently, she didn’t believe me… and now I have to make a believer out of her. Nothing or no one is going to stand in the way of the promise I made to her. We were destined to live in this moment together forever.
Audacious men in real life annoy me; however, I really liked Zion’s audacity. His mood with Jordin when he was released was very much “idk wtf you thought this was” and I ate it up and giggled 😂 Zion loved him some Jordin, and he did it loudly. He also didn’t play when it came to her. I loved that for Jordin.
Jordin was just along for the ride lol. She was very much in love with Zion and would’ve happily asked, “how high?”, if Zion asked her to jump lol.
That being said, I liked “Promise to Repeat” for the most part. The only thing I didn’t necessarily like (which is a me-thing) is that there wasn’t much interaction with Jordin’s friends outside of the things happening with Zion.
Given the length of the book and the plot, it’s understandable why there wasn’t so I’m not tripping about it too much. The female friendship is just something I like to read in romance books since it’s an easy choice for authors to have the FMC wrapped up in the goings on with the MMC.
For my smut girlies or if you’re just looking for some “fawking”, this book ain’t it. It’s a very cutesy, second chance romance with a dash of sex. We get one detailed scene and everything else is closed door, which I actually liked. (But I also wasn’t really in the mood to read about people doing it so there’s that.)
Now Ms. Rosé Dior, can we get a bonus scene or something from Zion’s POV? I need to know what happened to Trouble after he got out of rehab. Did he relapse or stay clean? Did Zion work through his feelings on Trouble snitching? Did Zion put another baby in Jordin? Lol.
Yesss Dinny and Zion! Zion went to prison for 15 years for making a rash decision while protecting Dinny. Finally he's out and ready to reconnect with the love of his life only to find out that she's not only moved on but is getting married the next day! Zion was determined to not let that happen. He played no games and I loved that for Dinny! This was a beautiful second chance romance.
This was an enjoyable second chance romance with a little soft kidnapping. I liked Zion and the love he had for Jordin was unmatched. This man planned it all and wasn’t about to let his girl marry someone else even after being apart for over a decade. Jordin loved him down as well and encouraged him to do better and be better and he was determined to do that not just for her but for himself and to have the life he planned and promised her all those years ago.
There were some things that didn’t seem completely realistic timing wise, but they didn’t take away from my enjoyment of this couple and this story.
I didn’t dislike the book as whole and for the most part enjoyed yelling at it. Neither of the characters felt like they were in their late 30s. And one having graduated college (presumably) also seems so far fetched in the way she acts and moves through life. We don’t spend enough time with the characters as adult separately, in either stage, for me to care about them and their story. IMO! Also if we are explicitly given a time period in which the reader is no longer in (obviously it’s 2018) the reference have to make sense given the time period of the text. The iPhone 12 Pro Max came out in 2020. And the text makes references aave that was popular or that specific character wouldn’t know because you know locked up. Either way I didn’t hate it and again very much enjoyed yelling at the book. Also homegirl has an A1 middle name 10/10 recommend 🤣
Zion was not the 1 or the 2 to be played with when it came to Jordin! They both made promises and he was going to be certain they were kept. He promised her a life and was determined to fulfill that promise. This book was so passionate, sweet, funny, and endearing. Time may not have initially been on their side but Zion was adamant they’d make up for lost time and anyone in the way would fall back or be pushed back. The storyline was dope and although a quick read it’s a fave of the year so far. Rosè Dior I loved it 10/10.
"I don’t want you to worry about shit, baby. Give your burdens to me. Let me carry that shit while you remain light and free."
Welp, that was all Zion needed to say. When a man tells you to let him be the man let him. Zion knew Jordin was his one. He made her promise to wait. And even though she was going to marry someone else, she knew that Zion was her one also.
They lost fifteen years, but they never lost the love they had for each other.
I enjoyed reading this second chance at romance book about Zion and Jordin. It’s sad that they were separated for fifteen years but Zion moved with intention the day he was released from prison and immediately went to reclaim his woman as he told her that he would when he was released. I like the fact that he focused on making legal money while he was away and even pulled his brothers from the streets. I’m glad that Zion, Jordin, and Baby Ziare got their own HEA.
Rose Dior, what a sweet read. So very sweet. Just to know a love so strong will last for a lifetime is wonderful. Trials and tribulations come decisions we make can cause a rippling situation but God will always make the right thing happen. I would like an update if you think about it on Trouble and how he turned out. I love the loyalty in this story as well.🤗🤗🤗🤗
If he not coming behind me like Zion did for Jordin, he not for me. My boy did a 15 year bid over a chain and a man audacity. I know after that night he didn't think about doing that anymore. However, that night Zion said what him and Jordin future was going to be and once those gates closed he was in hot pursuit.
I enjoyed every minute and chuckled so hard while reading some parts. This was a fun read while I traveled back home.
Zion and Jordin (Dinny) fell in love when they were teenagers. In an effort to protect Dinny, Zion makes a choice that sends him away from her for fifteen years. Zion makes good on his promise to return for Dinny, but he is not expecting to find Dinny about to go on with her life with another man. Zion wasn't having that and made moves to end all of that. I was glad when Dinny didn't put up too much of a fuss about Zion's antics. Zion and Dinny love for each other survived the test of time, and I loved that for them. I thoroughly enjoyed this second chance book that had passion, drama and humor.
It was a beautiful short book. I love how Zion kept his promise. He always protected his people. Kasy and Rahmeek looked out for him while he was in prison. You dont find friends like that. It was sad that Terrell turned him in. H e didnt know what to do. I was glad Jordin saw that Zion would make a way for her. Sometimes, you have to step back and make sure you are doing the right thing.
This is am amazing and sweet story. Awwww the love in this book is all we want from our man. Intentional love. Zion n Jordan deserve happiness. I’m so glad he had true friends with loyalty. Idk about the friend who seț him, betrayal. Hiț drugs really bad, but Zion still sent him to the best rehab. This is truly a beautiful love story.
This was a sweet, full of passion type of read. ZION made a promise and come hell or high water he was gone keep it, no matter where Jordin was on her life. These two were kissment. He came in hot and heavy for his true love and showed that they were end game, and i thoroughly enjoyed it
ZION AND JORDIN FELL IN LOVE YOUNG AND THAT LOVE CARRIED THEM THROUGH ADULTHOOD. THEN ONE BAD DECISION SEPARATED THEM FOR TEN YEARS. NOW ZION IS BACK TO REBUILD AND FULFILL A PROMISE HE MADE 15 YEARS PRIOR. ZION WAS SO INTENTIONAL WITH HOW HE MOVED WHEN IT CAME TO JORDIN. THAT MAN PLAYED NO GAMES AND MADE SURE SHE KNEW THAT DESPITE THE TIME APART SHE’S STILL THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE.
Zion was a real ONE!! Came back from the trenches for his woman, and made good on his promises. That sorry for 2004 had me screaming 😂😂😂😂 . This was AMAZING read 10\10 I definitely RECOMMEND!!
This was a beautiful and well written book. I shed a couple of tears just imagining what it would be like to lose the love of my life and fight to get em back. 10/10 highly recommended
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 This was a good quick read. The story line was good and the pacing was quick. I did wish that there was some groveling, but I enjoyed how the MMC moved with intention and kept his promises! 💖
Zion was not playing about his woman, he came to that house and claimed her right at her bachelorette party. Lets not talk about the weddings, this was so good.
