A.M. Kay grew up in the Midwest where she spent countless hours on horseback, daydreaming about epic fantasy battles and studying archaeology. She has always had a profound love for reading and all things fantasy. She found her passion for writing in 2023 and believes it's never too late to chase your dreams.
I don’t want to give too much away because this is the THIRD book in this series. If I could pick a world to live in and a cast of characters to be my friends/family, it would be this one! I pick it up when I want to read something beloved as this has become a comfort series and it’s so special to me.
The second book left off on a pretty brutal cliffhanger that had me ruminating, re-reading and losing sleep. The third book picks up right where it left off, so you immediately find yourself in a super tense and somewhat bewildering situation. The rest is a rollercoaster. This book did not disappoint and this author does not DO middle book energy. In fact, I feel like this series has only snowballed and the books are getting better and better and bigger and bigger as far as scope and POVs go. Oh, and she is also a sorceress when it comes to foreshadowing.
I find the FMC to be so refreshing. Lyvia has had some of the most touching and appreciable character growth of any FMC I’ve read. She endures so much trauma, grief and emotional turmoil but she does not let it ruin her. I love to see the growth and change in her character after her experiences. She is emotionally mature, brave and so kind hearted and yet she is also very powerful. She’s got people in her corner who support her and care about her and believe in her, and that makes up for the times when she still doubts herself. It has been an actual joy to follow along with her journey.
I don’t want to say too much about the MMC because I don’t want to spoil one of my favorite elements of this series. But I will say that he is now the standard by which I compare all MMCs. He really said, “𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒖𝒔.” and the man meant it! He is perfection wrapped in a deadly, swaggering facade.
The world building, character development, magic system, plot- all of it are absolutely perfection. If I could give this infinity stars I would.
Thank you to the author A.M. Kay for a beautiful reading experience and to her PA, Emily, for the opportunity to read the eARC.
It was a wild ride to say the least! It picks up right where book 4 ended and just keeps going! We have multiple POVs in this one which gave us a better understanding of everyone as well as a better idea of the world these characters live in. I loved seeing Lyvia really growing into her own in this one! Kellan has forever won my heart. I loved him so much in this book. He loved his girl so much and would literally do anything for her. The ending of this book TOOK ME OUT and was not what I was expecting at all. So be ready for pain. If you enjoy plot heavy stories, spicy romance, pirates, strong FMCs and animal friends then I highly recommend this book!
A.M. Kay did it again. The multiple POVs in this book were a little jarring at first but I got used to it (plus it leant into how other characters were truly feeling about the war over the Vael and I don't know how else you do it). And tropes are turned on their heads (stop reading now if you don't want spoilers). The ending was mind-blowing, didn't see it coming and now I need to wait for closure! It'll be a sad day when the last book comes out in this epic romantic fantasy.
It's girl rescues boy, and a 200 year old woman tied to a 30 year old man, and I was here for it all! Drystan gets a POV and I really enjoyed the deaf perspective.
I regret not writing reviews for each of these books when I finished them because now they are all mixed together in my mind 😅. So, this review will be for the series as a whole so far. AMAZING. Such an amazing high stakes fantasy series that left me reeling at the end of Empress of the Embodied. I’m not going to go into detail because I really feel you should go into this series blind to experience it fully, but there are so many twists and turns and connections. People you start out liking in the first book you hate by the last one and vice versa. So much pain and suffering, the writing and story really drew me in. I am on the edge of my seat, dying to know how things are going to play out for the Bellators and the realm. I read these books one after another within the span of about a week because I was that invested. I received an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review. Thank you.
Respectfully, A.M. Kay owes me compensation for emotional distress🖤😭
I was fortunate (or unfortunately because I have to wait EVEN LONGER for book 4) enough to read this as an ARC, and let me just say… I was not prepared. Every time I thought “there’s no way something else will make my jaw drop” it immediately did.
I laughed. I cried. My jaw literally dropped. And I almost threw my kindle and proceeded to stare at the wall for 10 minutes after reading the last page.
This book took everything I loved about the series and amplified it. Higher stakes, more plot twists, incredible character moments and EXTENSIVE emotional damage.
I can’t say much without spoilers, but if you love fantasy, found family, slow burn, a little bit of spice and books that leave you completely wrecked in the best way possible, pick this up IMMEDIATELY.
The ending altered my brain chemistry and I am not okay.
Back in a world by Anne Marie is always a wild ride full of action, tension, yearning, plot twists, and chaos!
EOTE is book three in the Nyxteria series and continues right where we left off after book two’s cliffhanger! We get several new POVs and the plot lines are intensifying and converging! Gods are meddling, destroying, and stealing. Found family is struggling, clinging, and growing. There’s so much going on and it’s so fun. The romance brewing between the MCs is the kind that waves green flags regarding communication, support, and unconditional love. Utterly beautiful in all its facets. The slow burn is real, but when it ignites, it’s one of delicious delight. The spice is 🥹🤌. And that ENDING!
Tropes you may find in EOTE are unique bonds, animal familiars/sidekicks, medium spice, multi-POV, plants, hidden identities, forced proximity, deeper magic and world building, “I don’t do miscommunication”, fared love, feminine rage, and a cliffhanger.
Thank you, Anne Marie, for allowing me to continue to be an arc reader for you! So stoked for what’s coming next!
It has taken me a week to get to write this review because I just could not make words.
This book was harder to read than the first 2 for several reasons: * The multiple POVs mean that the information is so much more and so much richer. I had gotten used to Lyvia's narration, so it took me some time to wrap my head around it. By the end of the book I was craving the different viewpoints. * This book continues getting darker and grittier. * There are some clues that you put together as a reader because of your access to multiple POVs, long before the character does, and you just want to shake them awake. * Some people just can't be saved. * The spice was spicy and always happened to come up when I was reading in not spice-appropriate places :P.
All this to say that it was harder to read but not harder to love. This book continued my love for the series, for A.M. Kay's storytelling, and for these kinds of stories.
Thank you for choosing me to be an ARC reader, I am so glad I discovered this series through that.
I love this series and I think this one is my favourite. Might have something to do with a certain pirate 😉. This is full of action, twists, love and loss, definitely a wild ride that had me feeling all the emotions. I really enjoyed the new POVs from more of the characters and the depth it brought to them and the story. The cliffhanger was perfect, has me begging to get my hands on the next book.
Amazing! This story was packed with everything you’d hope for. This was a beautifully written epic fantasy. The world building was phenomenal. And the description was done so well, it played with a wondrous vividness in my mind. I have been waiting for this one some the second book, and OMG I was not disappointed. From start to finish I was completely obsessed. And that cliffhanger!!! Why!!! This is definitely a must read.
This is one of my favorite series, and AM Kay has continued to astound me with the plot twists!! I am so attached to these characters and Livia’s growth definitely accelerated in book 3. I do wish there was a recap at the beginning of the book since I read book 2 so long ago, but if you’re binge reading this series you’ll have no problem jumping back into it!
I had the pleasure of receiving an advanced copy of this book in return for my honest opinion. Let me just say A.M. Kay has done it once again with this series! Every single aspect of this book has me completely on edge and unwilling to put it down. the pov changes helped build the story in a way I loved. this book had plenty of spice that had me feeling like I needed to Cool off after reading. Hands down this is my favorite of the Nyxteria series yet!
First, I’d like to start by thanking A.M. Kay and her team for providing me an eARC of Empress of the Embodied.
Initially, I was very excited to read this book, as the second book left on a major cliffhanger.
However, I struggled with the addition of so many new POVs. I also felt that this book was extremely plot forward, containing very little character dialogue at all. Yes, we got the internal monologue of 5-6 characters. But I struggled to stay engaged and care.
Parts that could have been a beautiful 1-2 pages of plot-propelling dialogue were reduced to a few sentences in a paragraph. Parts that could (and should) have been a few sentences were dragged on for pages of internal monologue.
By the end, I felt like I was drinking from a fire hydrant. Seriously, the last 20% was wild. But, again, VERY LITTLE dialogue. It was like “and then this happened. And then this happened. And then this guy did this. And then I knew. We looked at each other. And then this happened.” Honestly, to me, as a reader, it felt lazy and just wasn’t enjoyable to read.
I do truly love the general storyline and most of the ideas & tropes in this series. Like, they are all things that I generally like. But the WAY the story is being presented just feels like it’s too much too quickly to follow and it is not creating (in my opinion) depth to the characters to make me feel invested. I went in to this book and left this book truly only invested in two characters. I tried to care about the new POVs and backstories. I just didn’t.
And I literally sighed at the end of the book because, I thought this was it. I thought it was the conclusion. But it was another cliffhanger.
I don’t think I’ll be reading the next book because I just truly didn’t enjoy reading the majority of this book. The parts I did love that had me locked in were (shocker) the parts where the characters were ACTUALLY TALKING TO EACH OTHER.
If you have loved the series so far, and didn’t find book 2 too slow, you’ll probably enjoy this book.
If you struggled through book 2, I would honestly say you might not enjoy this one. Unless you’re buckled up and ready for mostly plot, extra POVs, and another upsetting cliffhanger.
Empress of the Embodied is the third book in a dark high fantasy series that will have 4 books. The series has a good number of characters and they are in separate places going through separate but (mostly) connected things. We are given multiple POV which does help separate the plot out so that it is easy to follow along.
This book picks right up where book two dropped us off. This is one of those books that advances a plot. We have new relationships form and one that blossoms. There are characters left to develop magic or connections related to their roles. The found family is scattered. Real family is found. There are mysteries to solve. An unpredictable villain even if we know their main goal.
"Life will bring people into your world and take them away in unexpected ways. It’s best to remember there’s usually a reason for it, though you may never find out why.”
I love the unique bonds, animal companions/familiars, and the magic. I really enjoy the FMC, Lyvia. She continues to evolve and grow through all of the challenges. The blossoming romance in this book is *chefs kiss*. I mean the man demands that he doesn't do miscommunication and I am HERE for it. I love that the author writes characters you get attached to and that you cannot predict the fate of that character.
"I was Death and Creation. I was vengeance. I was the nyxteria. And for the first time in my life, I had fully bloomed."
It did take me a little while to reorientate to the world. I actually went back and read the last 10% or so of Shadow of the Sending to help refresh the characters and the ending. She does write in a way that helps piece the story together if you've forgotten but I needed a little more. I did struggle with feeling as connected to this book as I did the first two but that might because it's plot forward. With characters separated, we spend a lot of time inside heads and there is less dialogue between characters.
"You saved me… You saved my soul that day. And I’ve been searching for you ever since.”
And then there's that cliffhanger. I thought I saw where it was going and AM Kay was like "Sike!" and now I have to wait to know how she's going to bring this around to what will be an epic conclusion.
Where do I even begin! A.M. Kay has truly outdone herself once again. Immediately following the events of Shadow of the Sending, Lyvia and her comrades are forced to prepare for the threats that escaped through the Vael Lacrima. Only, they have no clue what they’re truly up against. Unlike the other books, Empress of the Embodied primarily follows four points of view: Lyvia, Evony, Nerissa, and Drystan. Each point of view propels the story forward as it provides insights from various locations and internal thoughts and the building pressure for each of our narrators.
Lyvia - formerly studying to be a Death Scholar until a discovery changed the course of her life. Now, with the power of the Bellators, Lyvia is thrust into adventure, and danger, to defend what she has come to know and love. Evony - a teenager whose life was upended by the Uprising and the looming war. While she knows her purpose is to help fight this war, she can’t help but seek out something greater. Nerissa - an ex war slayer and fellow Bellator. She has seen war and death plenty of times, but why does this feel different? Will she be able to endure the ever-growing pressure weighing down on her shoulders to continue to be a strong a fearless warrior? Drystan - similar to Lyvia, he studied to be a Death Scholar. Unable to hear the world, he has always felt trapped in a cage. Can he finally escape the cage and find the freedom he so deeply desires?
Throughout my entire read I found that I either had my jaw dropped, screamed something along the lines of “no, no way!” or “why! This isn’t fair!”, or bawled my eyes out. Kay truly knows how to get the readers emotions going! The utter emotional damage created in this book further enhances the plot. While I may need months… years, of therapy to recover, I can say that A.M. Kay knows how to pull her readers in!
I cannot wait for book four to see how the story continues because OH MY GOD THAT ENDING!
I've had the immense privilege of beta-reading Anne's Nyxteria series. And what an immense privilege it has been! I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to dive into this world head-on and never return to the surface. Who needs the world around them when you can lose yourself in the Nyxteria universe?
Because that is what this series is: not a world, but an entire universe. A universe of emotion and action. Of the deepest, darkest moments and of the most devastatingly beautiful ones. A perfect mixture of anticipation and ruination.
And with each book, Anne continues to surprise me and leave me gasping. Empress of the Embodied was the same: the same excitement and the same heartbreak, all mixed into one.
The book starts strong and ends even stronger, leaving you staring into nothingness and asking yourself what you will do with your life until Book 4 is in your hands. How do you continue on after witnessing everything? After seeing just how powerful love can be, but also how devastating doubts and fear can be. After seeing so much hurt and pain, so much betrayal and loss. After thinking everything is lost, and then realizing that hope never dies. It can't die. Not when it's fueled by so much devotion, love, and conviction. It simply can't.
Empress of the Embodied shows that true love is more than blinding passion. It's built on trust, empathy, and understanding. It thrives on communication. And that kind of love can never fade. That kind of love shatters its enemies and never wavers. That kind of love will win in the end.
Thank you, Anne, for allowing me to accompany you on this journey. Thank you.
What do you mean I have to wait for the season finale!? But also what do you mean this is almost the end of the Nyxteria Series with Lyvia and the crew 🥺
A.M. Kay absolutely delivers with this whole series and the cliffhangers after each one 👏
Throughout the series Lyvia encounters love and heartbreak all while she transforms into her true self and no longer will remain "small". But it is so much more than that. She also has to learn how to navigate some very hard challenges all while trying to protect the people and world; that she loves and cares about.
This is easily one of my favorite series to date!! Before I review book 3 - (if you haven't started this series) below is a quick recap - Definitely NOT a stand alone book. Book 1: We meet Lyvia an amateur archeologist. Who discovers something that will change the fate of the rest of her life. Her and her best friend Drysyan end up on a wild adventure through the series. She meets new friends and also new enemies.
Book 2: She discovers a lot more of her family secrets while trying to protect the realm of Vael. She's also evolved from being a meek shadow of herself into a strong force to be reckoned with! (Female rage & power - sign me up!!)
And finally this Book #3, (The best one yet - IMO) takes on a different approach then the first 2. In this book you get to go behind the eyes of Drystan, Evony and Nerissa 😍 plus 1 very unexpected POV right at the end!!
I don't want to give any spoilers but I will leave you with one of my absolute favorite lines (which was super hard to choose from!)
"I was death and creation. I was vengeance. I was nyxteria. And for the first time in my life, I had fully bloomed."
I am so grateful and want to say thank you to A M Kay for giving me a chance to be an arc reader
Possible spoilers‼️ Empress of the embodied is the third book in the Nyxteria series. It picks up from exactly where book 2 had been left on a pretty chaotic and brutal cliffhanger. So you’re jumping straight in to the craziness. And let me just tell you that this book did not disappoint, I need the next book like yesterday. I honestly wasn’t expecting any of it. It truly took me on a rollercoaster of emotions.
Getting back into this series was like coming home. The characters are just out of this world. Lyvia is still slaying like the queen she is, Bayne needs to get his head screwed on straight cause it was wonky and maybe on a bit backward 🤣, Kellan was such a shock for me setting some really high bars for all men let me just say WOW, Isla was an amazing wing woman for Lyvia 🤣 and Nerissa always holding the world on her shoulder 😭. Everyone was honestly a vibe. That cliff hanger tho I was so not ready, i don’t think I’ll recover, I need answers, I need to know my babies are okay.
I would 100% recommend people to pick up this series!
I have so many favourite quotes but if I wrote them all down the list would be never ending so here are my top 4😅: - “If their wrath is a river then mine is the sea. And I will wash away their very existence when they come for you” - “You saved my souls that day. And I’ve been searching for you ever since.” - “Somewhere something good is happening in the world just because there is darkness does not mean we don’t deserve the light” - “I was death and today I decided who lived and who died.”
5 stars! This series has everything I love in a Romantasy- tension, adventure, magic, romance, epic plot, found family, emotion. Every book just gets better.
What I loved (other that the whole book): - The self discovery journey the FMC goes on is SO well done and also incredibly well integrated into the series plot. I love her more each book.
- The plot is not predictable. Sometimes you know where its going and other times a character you love dies! This author is savage. I love a high stakes romantasy.
- The MMC openly declares that he refuses to be caught up in miscommunication with the FMC. Thank you sir!
- The romance was A+. The tension between the FMC and MMC was beautiful.
- The book was multi POV. I happen to adore multi-pov books. I love getting a deeper story from multiple people. I'll be sending Drystan some extra confidence via my iPad in book 4- I can't wait to see his growth.
I can not wait for book 4, I will be first in line when its released. I expect A LOT of groveling and sacrificing from one character in particular, you know who you are! This book set up for what I have no doubt will be an epic finale in book 4.
This series goes to show that if Amazon recommends a random series to you that sounds kind of interesting, go for it, you may find your new obsession.
**Thank you so much to the author for providing me with this ARC, I devoured it in one day**
WHAT. WAS. THAT. ENDING?! I don't think I've recovered from it yet. I was so stunned. After reading the first two books by the author, I know she comes with the best plot twists. But this one!! I swear none of you will see it coming.
When I first started reading, I was a little lost because I'd forgotten some details from the earlier books, but the author does an excellent job of weaving in reminders naturally without making it feel repetitive or anything. At this point, I'm officially a fan.
This book delivered everything it promised, action, suspense, romance, drama, magic, heartbreak, breathtakingly divine characters, and yes a hot pirate🤭. It felt like a complete blockbuster from beginning to end.
Since the first two books had introduced so many characters, this book did a nice job of making all of them feel included with so many povs and timelines working parallels. It remained engaging and surprisingly easy to follow.
And the writing! There's something so refreshing about reading a book that feels human. The dialogues had personality, emotions, and authenticity. As someone who reads constantly, I've become pretty good at recognizing when writing feels artificial, and this never once gave me that impression.
Empress of the Embodied had me invested, shocked, heartbroken, and thoroughly entertained.
I am still recovering from this book... like WHAT did I just read?!
Empress of the Embodied absolutely wrecked me in the best way. There were multiple moments where I found myself sitting in shock, mouth open, genuinely at a loss for words - and others spent yelling and maybe swearing at the book - at all the twists and reveals. The execution of those moments was incredible, and so many of them caught me entirely off guard.
And somehow it gets even better—because I immediately went back in for a re-read and WOW. The number of clues woven throughout the story was astounding. So many details I had missed the first time suddenly stood out, making the second read just as engaging—if not even more so. There were several of those “OMG I FIGURED IT OUT” moments, especially as connections to Bones of the Bellators and Shadow of the Sending came into focus (queue the tears). The level of foreshadowing across the series is masterful.
Lyvia’s growth continues to be one of the most compelling aspects of this story. Watching her come into herself, accept who she has become, and find genuine happiness in that acceptance is incredibly powerful and inspiring. Seeing her surrounded by people who embrace her for who she truly is adds such a meaningful emotional depth to her journey.
And that ending?? Truly criminal. That cliffhanger had me feeling all the feels, and I'm already counting down the days until book four because I NEED answers immediately. Empress of the Embodied is gripping, emotional, and beautifully layered. This series continues to exceed every expectation, and I cannot recommend it enough. If you're even thinking about reading this series - do it!
Thank you to the author for the opportunity to ARC read Empress of the Embodied! Empress of the Embodied is book 3 in The Nyxteria!
This book was AMAZING 🤩
The betrayals. The love. The plot twists. I can't get enough of this book and this series!! And it keeps getting better!! EOTE has a multi POV, and I LOVED that, I loved discovering the inner thoughts of other characters!! And I grew even more attached to them! (Which is dangerous, yes, but also amazing!!) And the spice. The romance. The love (I know I've said it already but it's important. And beautiful.). I'm officially addicted to this series!! The romance and love is written so beautifully in this third book. A strong, sane, safe, healing love. What could we ask more? Trials, magic and adventure across the realm of Vael? Check ✅ This book has EVERYTHING. And as with the two first book, I loved the disability rep!!
And bonus points for creating contraception for mens, and mention of periods 🫶🏻 we LOVE that!
A small warning: this is not the last book of the series, beware the cliffhanger! I'm not ok, I need to recover 😭 but it was so good!! I need book 4, like, yesterday.
First and foremost- this book sent me into such a deep book hangover I read it all over again. Immediately.
When this series started, I thought I knew who my book boyfriend was and who my favorite character was going to be and I was done. Now that I'm waiting for book 4? I've never been more wrong. Why you ask? BECAUSE THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND STORYLINE IS OFF THE CHARTS! There is not a SINGLE character in this series that is left where you don't get to see how they grow and develop and this book is no different.
Lyvia has gone through Hell and back through this story for love of her found family and you can't help but feel that love and devotion just as deeply. Just as you can’t help but feel the same anger, bitterness, stress, anxiety, and every other emotion felt and described throughout this absolute roller-coaster of a story all culminating in a cliffhanger ending leaving you with your jaw on the floor and you checking your calendar for the release date of the next book.
I thought I was into this series before. Now? I cannot possibly recommend this series enough.
Thank you so much A.M. Kay for an ARC of Empress of the Embodied.
I have loved every book of the Nyxteria series and EOTE is nothing short. I don't know what I am going to do when the fourth and final book comes out because I love the characters and the world so much in this book.
I was able to finish EOTE within a few days. It's action packed and I couldn't put it down. A.M. Kay knows how to draw the reader in and keep them wondering what could happen next. I truly believe it could be a movie with how it is written.
I am dedicated to Lyv, Kellan, and the other characters within this series. Yes, I will continue to be heartbroken by the lost of a relationship and be mad at the certain someone for being a jerk, but I truly love what Lyv and Kellan have. The reader gets so much growth between the two within EOTE.
With this, Lyv is also growing as a person throughout this series. I think this is the biggest growth yet for her in EOTE and I am interested to see where the final book takes her, especially after the cliffhanger!!!
I can't wait for the final book and I truly don't want this series to end!
When I started to read this series, I accidentally started with book 2 and was confused why nothing was being explained after reading about 60 pages into the book. I thought it was the worst story ever until I looked at the title. I'm glad that I did that because whew the story the plot 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻.
I thought the second book was stressful, but this book had me on the edge of my seat on the last 100 pages and its left on another cliff hanger ughhhhhhh. I need answers!!!!! The mistrust from Bayne kills me and everyone in his crew too. I hope we are getting a redemption arc from him on this. I totally thought him and Lyv were total end game until she ran into the Pirate Captain again.
I knew something was off about Vander on the mention of his eye color and Evony thought it was a bit strange but continued on with it. That is all I'm saying on this right now. I am currently grieving since I need to wait until the next book is out while waiting for this book to be released soon. 😩 my fault for being an impatient ARC reader. 10/10 I recommend this series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I’m having a tough time deciding which book is the best in the series, but I would have to say it’s this one. The main character, Lyvia, grows more with every chapter, every book, and her character is so well written that I can relate to everything she goes through. This/these books are such a wonderful escape of the world we live in right now.
This author is such a great writer and skilled at getting readers inside her books and characters. All of the fantasy elements are woven in without any info dumping, which I love.
The different POVs were fun and well done. I think this can be hard for some writers to pull off, but this author followed through the story through the different characters so well. I’ll be reading the fourth book the day it comes out!
Let me just say this is book 3 in the Nyxteria series. And with book two ending on the brutal cliffhanger that it did I know I didn't put that in book two's review I kind of like leaving those off. Book three just kicked my teeth in. I wish this was a world that we could live in. The people the way the world's built the characters are all just so amazing. You can really see and vivid detail how the author has just put so much thought and love into each one of these characters. Now the FMC Lyvia she still shines beautifully even though she's went through so much. I don't want to say who the MMC is because I feel like you need to read that because their elements about him that would be spoiled if I did go into detail about him. Just know he is a fine specimen. Overall I am so excited I cannot wait to see if there's going to be more to this series but I know I am hooked for life.
I love the world A.M. Kay has created. The story is intriguing, the settings are captivating and the characters are deeply multidimensional. Each one of them faces their own inner turmoils as they work together against common enemies. The plot in this story was a rollercoaster, the author truly played with my feelings in the best way possible. The ending gutted me, the cliffhanger was brutal. I have so many questions that I need an answer for asap. I will definitely be reading book four as soon as it comes out.
I must also point out that Kellan is everything in this book. His quotes had me melting into a puddle, he made it to the list of my favorites MMCs.
Soft spoiler alert!! My heart filled with joy when that found family news came. Omg, I wasn’t expecting that.
My mom heart wanted to hug and comfort Evony, she must be protected at all cost.
This book pulls you right back in where book two leaves off and I was completely engrossed from the start. Once I picked it up, it was incredibly hard to put down.
One of my favorite parts was watching the FMC and the growth she experiences after everything she’s been through. I’ve loved seeing how much she’s evolved throughout this series and I found myself even more attached to her in this installment.
A.M. Kay continues to nail the world building, magic system, multiple POVs and character development. Everything flows together so well and makes Nyxteria such an easy world to get lost in.
This one really has a little bit of everything—action, twists, tension, romance, spice and yet another epic cliffhanger. Needless to say, I’ll be impatiently waiting for book four.
It'll be hard to review this and not give anything away but this was pure magic and chaos.
The second book leaves you with a cliffhanger from hell and this one picks up right afterwards. Things are tense and wild. All three of these books have just been an amazing ride. My emotions are all over the place after finishing this. Lyvia is badass and has a band of baddasses at her side. I love how confident she has become and seeing her magic and her grow as a person. I loved seeing the group all doing their thing but clashing together for the upcoming war. I knew another cliffhanger was coming buuuuuuut damn!
Wow. That ending?!? What the heck! AM Kay is doing us dirty with that cliffhanger! Hahahaha. This whole 3rd installment was a rollercoaster but the last 100 pages were just wild! Sooo much happening…my jaw was constantly on the floor, holding my breath the entire time. I’m shaken. Lol. I completely fell head over heels for Kellan. I loved him in the last book, but the tenderness and obsession he showed for Lyvia in this book is just everything. I have so many favorite lines from him. I’m beyond obsessed. Cannot wait for the next book.
