As a fan of (fictional) morally-grey/black men who are only soft for their love interest, I was not so patiently waiting for the plot to focus on Onyx.

He obviously had secrets and when he revealed them, it truly clarified a few things regarding his whole behavior but also the plot in general. I loved his relationship with Evan so much! He was the most complicated fated mate yet, but despite all the odds against them, Evan refused to give up on him.

This book is pivotal to the development of the story. Evan’s fate and path are really defined here. He finds out more about his origin and who he wants to be.

Next book will definitely be interesting! Since Evan is ready(ish) by the end of book, the action can start.

I love being back with Evan and his men! The moment this book hit my kindle, I was reading and didn’t put it down, so I finished it in one sitting 😅

Picking up almost immediately where book 6 left off, Evan must learn how to harness his powers as well as talk with Onyx. Annnnnnd more. So much more.
My poor Evan is going through it but just let him bake and drink coffee and he’s on a roll and adopting more cute animals that make his men look at him in confusion with soooo many questions.
Onyx is a grump and I love him so much.
Maddox, Briar, Lake, Rowan, and Callum are still adorable. And all those moments, the fun/silly and the steamy ones were amazing. I love this group of men so much. I laughed so much (looking at you drunk Evan 😂😂) had my heart squeezed, but had a smile on my face the entire time.
I love all the information being dropped/learned and now I will (im)patiently wait for book 8.

I miss Prince Sawyer, Kuya, Sir Noah & the other knights. 🤞🏻 fingers crossed that we get a reunion in book 8 because I’m worried for them.
I’m anxious to see how Sawyer takes Evan’s secret and really wanna know how it plays out.

Goodness! I feel as if I've been waiting forever for this book!

At least there's a resolution with Lord Onyx and Evan (and even Maddox seems to have come round!). I wanted to see more of Prince Sawyer and Kuya, but Evan and his men are still stuck in the shadow realm and there doesn't seem to be much help in getting them back to Bremloc. Poor Evan learns much more about himself and his new found powers and he needs the help of his men to overcome his dark side.

All in all, a good read which gave us some important information about Evan's life. I would suggest reading books 1-6 before this as you'll wonder what is going on.

I really hope that we don't have to wait long for book 8, which I'm hoping will bring all the threads together. There do seem to be a few flapping around!

It always feels like coming home everytime a new book comes out. Then when you nearing the end you dread leaving the world and your favourite characters.

In this volume there was again big focus on Onyx and Evan and their relationship. We got to see some big struggles there and it honestly made me cry. I felt so sad for them. But on a happier note their chemistry is out of this world and I really like their interactions a lot. We even see more progress between Onyx and all the other men, which was nice. I found the mentorship between Onyx and Rowan the cutest. Hopefully the relationships strengthen even more in the next book.

The mood was still pretty melancholy at some points, because we still miss some lovely characters, but like I said in previous volume, with the set of new characters (and creatures) the somber mood is balanced with lighter atmosphere. Pumpkin was the real star of this book for sure.

I was pretty sure who the 7th mate would be, but the ending of this volume kind of threw me off, so now I'm not so sure anymore. I still feel like there are two people who have great chemistry with Evan, but they might both be just platonic. I wonder if it's someone we already met or if there were hints in the previous books. Or maybe I just misunderstood what was said. Nevertheless I'm excited to find out and come back home with the next story.

This was another phenomenal addition to the series with Evan and his men! This series is really the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, funny, and interesting. I absolutely adore Evan and all of his men, I love seeing the banter between them and seeing him finally get to add another mate to the group was lovely. I had so much fun learning more about Evan's powers and also seeing a muffin slowly break down the demon lord's walls. Evan's baking really does get everyone to fall in love with him and it is delightful.

This book didn't have much action with all the men currently safe in the Shadow Realm so we got to see Evan wooing a demon lord and finding himself a new furry friend. I really liked this book and getting to see more of Evan living his new life but I am also very intrigued about what will happen in future books especially with everything still being unstable. I can't wait to see Evan learn more about himself and how to use his newly awakened powers and it will be great fun watching everyone fall more in love with him as he undoubtedly goes around making everyone feel better with baked goods and magic. I am also very very excited about the hint of who Evan's last mate might be especially since I think there may have been a teaser about it in the book! I love this series so much and I can't wait for the next book to see what adventures Evan and his men go on next!

4.25 stars. Think I'd describe this one as a filler story. Not much seems to happen, other than our Muffin Lord discovering more of his past...oh, and his possible future as a Healer. He saves Onyx from himself [read the story], and we meet a cute new little creature to dote on 🎃. Book 8 will see Harem member #7 join the club I hope it's Ban.

This was such a welcomed new addition to the Evan world. I adore all the characters so much, the sweetness, the suspense and adventure. Each new book brings more information and more questions, which I both love and need that answers to right now. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of Evan and his men.

I love our muffin lord. Onyx drove me crazy at times but was well redeemed by the author, and he had me swooning by the end. These books are my forever comfort read

This had a little bit filler book-vibes up until the last few chapters, so while I still enjoy the universe tremendously, this is not my favorite installment.
