Rate this book
Zombies- as if that wasn’t enough to ruin any girl’s dream of a happily ever after.

Reagan and the Parkers have finally rescued Page just in time for their favorite family activity- killing Zombies.

When they are attacked in the middle of the night, Reagan heads out with some Parkers to protect the bungalow. It’s been a while since Reagan has gone head to head with a Zombie and she’s a little rusty. Thankfully, Hendrix has her back.

And her heart.

After another near death experience, Reagan and Hendrix are forced to face the feelings they’ve tried to bury. Hendrix has more to say and it is not what Reagan expects.

When they finally find the courage to be honest with each other, can they come out on the other side unscathed? Or at the end of the world will they be able to find a happily ever after?

Love and Decay, Episode Seven is the seventh episode in Season Three of a novella series in a Dystopian Romance about Zombies, the end of the world and finding someone to share it with.

This is an interesting series.
It has humour so things don't get too heavy but at the same time they do loose people and there is violence and killing.

The series is a long one and these main characters stories continue for 3 seasons.
There is also a spin off series that deals with the sister later.

There is little intimacy. There is touching, hugging and a few kisses but no sex until much later in the last season.
The main 2 characters have love interests but due to the nature of the start of the virus and the constant threat there are no intimate scenes until the end of season 3.

Each season ends on a HFN with an enemy thread running through the whole series.
Each episode either ends as HFN with a goal set for the next or at times an immediate threat will run across several episodes.
At the time I read these the whole series was on Amazon KU so it was possible to read one after the other or complete in a box set.
If you start reading and want to get to a HEA you will need to read the entire 3 seasons.
There is the immediate zombie threat which is constant but also the series deals with humanities reaction to survival.
Often a bigger threat is the desire for power between the surviving groups and these at times use lack of resources and scientific experimentation to control the main threats.
Later in the series there is a love triangle situation of sorts for the heroine.
It's not exactly a love triangle but there is a dividing force between the main couple due to the interest from another man.
There are no intimate details but there is a kissing scene with the other man, but at the time the main couple are not together.
The characters are all very different, they have their flaws but they are college age so when they make mistakes and sometimes they are stupid ones I put it down to youth and although they have learnt survival through experience the threat is constant so it's not easy for them to be sensible all the time.
There is a good bit of banter between the group and a great deal of humour.
There are some serious issues dealt with too and the main human enemy threat is pretty evil.

I knew I loved Hendrix.
And I knew I would never love anyone as much as I loved this man.
He was my forever. I didn't know how long that would last. We could die in the next five minutes. That was a real possibility.
But that didn't matter either. I could live for another minute or the next eighty years and I would never stop loving him. He had become reason for my cluttered mind, hope for my hopeless spirit and the motive to keep my heart beating.
That was all I needed to know.

***

But does Hendrix feel the same? Reagan and Hendrix decide here and now what lies ahead for them. Will they be together once again, or are they finally over it once and for all? This episode is the moment of truth for them.

But that is not all that happens....

Because we’re back with the zombies!! Heck yeah we are. Guts and rotting flesh zombies. I am giddy with excitement as the group goes head to rotting head with them once again. Yes, I find joy when our favorite people are attacked by the undead. Of course I am fine with it because I know they can hold their own when up against them. In fact, I miss when there isn't much zombie action. These people kick major butt and it is always a thrill to read about it.

Then you got.....well, I better not tell you everything, right? Just trust me on this. You are going to be all over the place as this episode comes to an end. Major developments start emerging for the group and yep, you guessed it...the future is anyone's guess. Things could go entirely right for once...or oh so wrong as usual. All I know is I am ready for the next one. I am eager to see what happens. 5 Holy Moly Zombie Flesh Stars!

Tears are rolling down my face.... and thank goodness they are happy tears! I love these characters like I know each one of them personally. I feel triumph in their victories, fear when they're afraid, anger when they're angry, and so so in love when they're in love. There's a little bit of all of that in this episode and I'm definitely not disappointed. I'm also really excited and nervous about the next episode, which will be in Tyler's POV. I love love love Love and Decay! As much as I complain about each episode being a tease, I do think that reading the story one novella-sized piece at a time really adds to the suspense and fuels my excitement, rather than waiting a year between full-length novels, which would drive me even crazier. :)

One of the best episodes this season!!
Incredibly intense. It's setting us up for a crazy last quarter for season 3!!
The Parker gang has wrecked havoc on Mexico and they are not stopping until Matthias is dead. They are taking names (and lives) left and right and it's another example of how dire things have gotten. As Hendrix harrowingly put it: "kill first, ask questions later."
They are instilling fear into their enemies and I'm all for it!
The episode had something I've been waiting for since S2 as well. Hendrix's speech to Reagan was everything I wanted and more. I'll stop there to avoid spoilers but seriously such a satisfying episode.
PS: welcome to the gang, Mr. L ❤️

I have waited all season to get to this point. As much as I enjoyed Kane coming in and twisted my world and Reagan's, I will always want her and Hendrix together. This episode we finally let things fall into place and hopefully have these two back together for good.

Great series

I love the story line and follow Reagan and the trouble that follows her. I just wish I didn't have to wait for the next book to find out what happens.
