About the author

Mia MP is an award-winning Cuban photographer, poet, and writer base on USA, whose work blends visual arts and storytelling to inspire people to heal and build the life their deserve. A graduate in Science in Communication from Havana University, she has been featured in prominent publications like Azahar, Nagari, Shades of Grey, EYES magazine, and WePhoto ebooks among others.

Her latest book pairs healing poetry with fine art photography, exploring themes of resilience and self-discovery. Mia has exhibited internationally, including shows in Miami and Tokyo, and is passionate teacher in Florida. She love reading, learning and collaborating with other artists, has developed many literary and visual projects including her magazine about street photography where Mia gathered photographers around the world to bring their images and experiences to this project “Did You Know Cities Tell Stories.”

Her poetry has a way of making you feel like each poem is written just for you.

With the Same Dream is Mia’s third book, and just like the first two, it is absolutely beautiful. She has a gift for reaching into your heart and bringing forward emotions, memories, and thoughts you didn’t even realize were still there.

As I read, it felt like she was gently guiding me through parts of myself, some I understood and some I am still learning. Her words are honest, heartfelt, and incredibly powerful.

I have started reading one poem a day, and every time I do, I take something different from it. The poems stay with you. They make you think, feel, and sometimes even heal in ways you don’t expect.

This is not a book you simply read and put down. It is one you return to, and each time, it leaves you with something new. I know I will be coming back to this book again and again.

Mia has this amazing ability to draw you in with words that inspire and make you feel deeply.

In her third book of poetry, Mia draws on the influence of the words of authors, showing readers how their works have inspired her own beautiful story-telling through her poetry. It is a beautiful cycle of inspiration; Mia creating a world full of visionary and deep, dark mystery. Not only this, but you feel the magic, love and hope in each part of the book.

To compliment this narrative, Mia has also included her own amazing photographic work, this time inspired by hands and the work and change they bring to life. I also love the theme of metamorphosis and change, which is like a coming of age story in its own right.
One of my favourite passages is from the poem, Solivagant,

Perhaps I am but a leaf
tossed by the wind-
wandering from soul to soul,
striving to reveal
how extraordinary they are.

Such a powerful collection

With the Same Dream is an emotional journey through healing, self-reflection, and personal transformation.

The poetry and photography work together to create such an immersive experience. The combination gives the collection a deeply intimate and almost dreamlike quality, drawing readers into moments of vulnerability, longing, growth, and hope.
My favorite in this collection was Resurgence. The last line: “Magic begins where doubt ends.” Was such a powerful line to me in so many ways. I also loved the tribute poem, “Indie Author Community”.

I especially appreciated how each section carried its own emotional atmosphere while still flowing naturally into the next.

There is a quiet sincerity throughout this collection that makes it resonate. The themes of healing, identity, love, resilience, and spiritual reflection are explored in a way that invites readers to see pieces of themselves within the poems.

This book has become my daily obsession. I read it in the morning to start my day off with reflection. Mia writes as if she is speaking to my past, present, and future desires. Each poem takes you on a journey. I feel like I know myself better after reading her words and reflecting on how they make me feel and describe many of the experiences in life we all share.

Mia is a master poet and photographer. She examines different sides of love and loss in the final book in the series. I don't know if I have one favorite poem. How can you pick a favorite when they all are a piece of you? Each speaks to my soul in a different way or different time through her carefully chosen poems and photographs.

In "Blessed Maleficium", she spoke to me in the words, "... And that is why I have been broken more than once; people are not accustomed to the unvarnished - honesty, depth, love." We all have been broken some by those who do not understand how showing honesty expresses true love.

Speaking of love, I love how she talks in the poem "Stranger" the strange flutterings of yuour heart you feel when you see someone that stops you in your tracks. The beginnings of love and the yearning for more.

I may not have a favorite poem, but I do have a favorite photograph. Deja Vu. The imagery of the broken sand timer in your palms can mean so many different things to different people. The passage of time is just as unobtainable as this image. It slips through your fingers before you even know it is gone.

Mia said it best at the end of her book, "Poetry is not putting together beautiful words; poetry is putting together yourself to see how beautiful you are."

This book is beautiful, soulful, lyrical, and nothing short of magical. Thank you Mia for writing such a beautiful collection. I can't wait to share these poems with those I love. They are a gift.

This book deals with darker themes, past lives, love, sadness, the struggles of living! The struggles of understanding who you truly are.

This is the first book I’ve read by Mia, and it certainly won’t be the last.

I chose to read it in Spanish because I wanted to challenge myself. While Spanish is part of who I am, reading poetry in it requires far more concentration from me than reading in German or English.

And yet, Mia made me forget the effort.

Her poems are full of beauty, longing, dreams, heartbreak, hope, and raw honesty. Some lines felt less like words on a page and more like memories I had somehow forgotten I carried.

There was also that feeling of connection, not only between the poems and the reader, but between writers themselves. One poem is built from the titles of books written by fellow indie authors, transforming them into something entirely new. It is a wonderful celebration of creativity and community.

This collection reminded me that stories connect us across languages, countries, and experiences.
