There’s no grounds for murder. There’s no ground at all. The people exploring and exploiting alien universes risk everything, including their lives. But Devin Gupper’s death makes no sense. And the more questions security officer Aidan Redding asks, the less rational it seems. But in a bottomless universe full of impossibilities, one impossible murder begins everything.
I don't have a fear of heights, I really don't. I kept repeating that to myself over and over as I read Forever Falls. It's a quick, tight story with one hell of an ending but the true secret sauce is the terrifying vertigo we met along the way.
A random freebie ebook. A lost leader to get me to read more of this author.
This is a Mystery story, set in a fantasy/sci-fi universe. I did try to imagine the physics of this universe, but I could not get my head around how physical world would work, so that has biased my reading experience and made it impossible for me to anticipate the ending. I would recommend the reader ignore the logic and just let things happen. Read this as a mystery.
I have been really enjoying these Montague Portal novelettes. They are all exactly as long as they need to be, no more or less. MWL has a great character in Aidan Redding, I can’t wait to see what universe she ends up in next.
Although science fiction isn't my usual genre, I was pleasantly surprised by this novella. There was enough drama and suspense mixed in with the sci-fi lingo to keep me reading. Good quick read.
