Eriksson's framework is the clearest answer I have seen to a problem I keep hitting when I teach: teams that have a vision, OKRs and a roadmap, and still cannot explain why they are building what they are building. The stack makes the connection testable, you read it down for how and up for why, and wherever the ladder breaks is where alignment is actually failing. The parts I will reuse are the "even over" principles and the insistence that objectives describe customer behavior change rather than output. It is short and the cases are the familiar ones, but the framework earns the book.

I really liked the concept of the decision stack but found it was a too focused on tech development or start-ups. The concepts can be applied to any organization but Eriksson's experience leans towards tech product development it would have been nice to have more universal examples. The road runner and ACME example was great though.
