Love So Amazing

Rate this book
Dance instructor Ava Carlisle lost her fiancé in a tragic car accident. Pedicab owner/operator Sawyer Mancini understands her pain all too well.

Ava and Sawyer aren’t looking for love when they meet outside an Indianapolis, Indiana hotel. Drawn to one another, these two lonely souls discover they share much in common during a six-block trip when Sawyer pedals Ava home to her downtown apartment building. When they unexpectedly meet a second time, both interpret it as freedom from the chains of past heartache and the Lord’s blessing to pursue a relationship. Although they intend to go slow, Ava and Sawyer tumble headfirst into the kind of love that only happens once in a lifetime.

A few months later, Sawyer uncovers a shocking revelation. He and Ava share an unfathomable bond they never could have imagined, and one that threatens to destroy their love. Is it a cruel twist of fate or could it somehow be God’s perfect plan for their lives?

Can Ava and Sawyer survive the ultimate test by fighting their way past old heartaches to be together and share...a love so amazing?

Earlier this week, I was doing a bit of complaining about Hallmark movie clichés and such... I actually love those movies, and I don't care if I see the ending coming a mile away, as long as they make me fall in love with the story. Attention, Hallmark: You should put Ms. Durgin at the front of your rolodex.

Is this book somewhat of a fairytale? Sure. I mean, it's people at their absolute best, when there aren't many of those around these days. Ava is lovely and sweet and easily relatable, while Sawyer is charming and intelligent and kind. Did I mention swoon-worthy? Yeah, he's a whole lot of that.

What I loved best about this book was the easy dialogue that made me feel like I was sitting in on the conversation. From the first page, I felt like I was in the pedicab listening to these two meet-cute. Sawyer's tendency to have a verbal faux pas was beyond adorable. A couple of times, when he was talking to Ava, I actually got butterflies in my stomach. Oh, he was good.

The book is unapologetically Christian, but in a way that makes sense and not merely thrown in as an afterthought as some authors tend towards. In case you can't tell, I loved it. This one would definitely make my Hallmark re-watch list, no question.

JoAnn has written another wonderfully delightful Christian romance. Love So Amazing is filled with the fairy tale romance, but at the same time is mixed with real life situations that make us grow as a person and grow in our Christian walk. This author does a wonderful job of blending those elements together seamlessly.
Love So Amazing is Book #1 in the Wondrous Love Series. In it, you will find characters that have faced some deep hurts in their lives, but have learned to overcome them. You will find friendships that refine lives. You will find relationships healed and renewed. You will find love that you can only know by first knowing the love of God. You will find a treasure within these pages.

This is a sweet, romantic love story. The characters are well written. Ava is a dancer who owns a dance studio. With her devastating past she learns to love again. Sawyer also has his own business. He owns and drives a pedicab service. This was a fun aspect to the book and new to me. Sawyer is handsome and a good Christian. He is loving and romantic. The perfect hero! I am looking forward to Love So Divine, book 2 in The Wondrous Love Series.

Love, Love and Loved this book. Through every tragedy God is faithful and always with us. I started this book and loved settling down of a night in my quiet time and just got lost in every word. Ms. Durgin held my attention until the ending of the book and left me wanting to read more books that she has written. I love to read stories where God is the head and backbone of their lives and this book was awesome in every aspect of giving God praise and glory. I am looking forward to more wonderful reading by Ms. Durgin.

What a Book!

This book seems to me to have most of the components that make a book really good. Although there is sadness, there is also happiness, and while there are tears and fears, the tears are dried and the fears are resolved. This is Such a good book.

There are simply not enough words to tell you how much I enjoyed this story - so much that I read it in one day because I couldn't put it down. JoAnn paints her characters with such clarity that you can see the scenes unfolding in your mind just like you are watching a movie. Sawyer and Ava come to life in vivid detail and you feel their emotions, triumphs, and trials as your dear friends, because that is what they become. This one is out of the park in my opinion and I can't wait to read this series. So many insights into God's love for us and how we are to love and honor one another.

A story of wondrous wonderful love

A beautiful Christian novel with a twist I never saw coming. At first the twist seemed too coincidental but it was written so well and was so believable that in the end I realised it was the perfect way of bringing the characters pasts together. Fabulously well written storyline with loveable characters and great dialogue. Just loved how Sawyer always seemed to put his foot in his mouth and say the wrong thing. If you're looking for a nice easy Christian read I recommend this book by JoAnn.

I absolutely loved this story. Strong female heroine, Ava, hasn't recovered from the loss of her fiance. Godly hero, Sawyer, isn't ready to date after the loss of his best friend. When these two meet, you can just feel the sparks beginning to fly. I loved how they moved slowly and learned about each and where God stood in their individual lives and where He would stand if they became a couple. Excellent character development and a mystery about their past was quite was well done. I highly recommend this book. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Love So Amazing is a delightful story by JoAnn Durgin. By page two I was already half in love with Sawyer Mancini and wanted Ava Carlisle for a close friend. These two characters display their faith, their pain, and the sparks that fly between them with charisma and charm. Sprinkles of humor add to the enjoyment. I especially enjoyed the relationship between Sawyer and his sister Allie, with her daughter Sophia bringing a wonderful dose of kid humor.
I am happy to award Love So Amazing five stars.

This was an amazing love story and I loved how the story flowed.
I fell in love with the main characters and enjoyed their interaction. The mood of the book was ,for the most part, light hearted.
The main focus is that earthly love may come and go but if we have the love The Lord,it will be eternal.
Book 2 should be as good, given the author's track record.
I highly recommend this book for everyone.

Sawyer and Ava were likable, intelligent people and I was really enjoying this story until the 83% point where certain information came to light. I do not understand Ava's reaction and thought she was totally unreasonable. I started to lose interest at that point but kept reading. I found myself perusing the final pages because I had lost interest due to her behavior. I think if she had acted more reasonably, it might have been a 5 star for me.

Wonderful, sweet read about trusting God and moving forward in the wake of tragedy. I truly enjoyed Sawyer's speak-without-thinking manner that often resulted in foot-in-the-mouth disease. The interaction between Sawyer and Ava, and those between him and his sister and niece were so funny sometimes.

Christian romance at its finest!

Another great book by Joann Durgin. Her books are rich with detail and reflect God's character throughout. I can't wait to read book 2 in this series! The characters in Joann's books become "real" and like "old friends". And I now know about pedicabs and would love to ride in one!

Just okay

Okay story but not really believable. No way two people die in a wreck and their love ones do not know the names of the other person that died in the car. Sweet love story but their are too many unbelievable things going on in the story.
