The second saga in the bestselling, Forever Evermore series continues with Chosen Fool, where deception runs deep and Caro’s transitioning life turns even more deadly…

Caroline Jules has received news of a lifetime. She’s going to be Queen to ‘her’ people. Instead of running, as any sane criminal would, she faces the mêlée with all the wits and savvy that her difficult life has honed. With her best friend, Sin, at her side, Caro pushes past the animosity her power inevitably brings, and prepares to rewrite her future.

Until the night Sin leaves, and she is alone.

Now, Caro must face the Royal world and all its intrigues and intricacies by herself. People aren’t always as they appear—and danger lurks behind even the most pleasant face. When a threat not even the Elders can handle puts her new tribe in danger, Caro takes matters into her own hands. Armed with the power of the mysterious spirit Elementals, Caro’s determined to eliminate the evil ransacking the Mysticals. All she needs is time.

But time waits for no fool…and time isn’t as straightforward as it seems.

Re-read: November 2017
With almost two years between publication dates for this book and the next, get ready for a re-read. I am so excited to have received an ARC for the next installment Chosen One but I was totally lost when I started reading. No backstory reminders; it picks up right where the story left off FYI. I did a re-read of Chosen Fool and now I'm ready to dive in! I actually enjoyed this one more the second time around. I've come to terms with the twist so I wasn't so disappointed during this re-read (note: my disappointment was in the minority of reactions based on reviews). I always love reading this author though. Forever Evermore is such a fun fantasy series!

Original Review
Chosen Fool is the fifth installment in Scarlett Dawn's new-adult fantasy series titled: Forever Evermore. I've been a Scarlett Dawn fan since I read her debut novel in 2013. I've been an even bigger fan of this series and have loyally followed it, spent my hard-earned money on every new release, and recommended it to many, many readers. I don't regret any of it. However, this installment has me concerned. Events and revelations in this book make the installment before this one (Chosen Thief) as well as the first 40% of this one utterly pointless in my opinion, there is no plot direction - things seem to happen just for the jaw-drop effect, and again...who the hell is the romantic interest?????

Even though I personally had notable problems with Chosen Fool, I can say that Ms. Dawn has again managed to keep me thoroughly engaged and invested in a series I am more than happy to continue. Who knows, maybe by the time this particular saga ends, the summed up events will demand a re-read and everything will make sense. If it does, I will be sure to reflect it in a second review/rating. Fingers crossed :)

My favorite quote:
"Life is filled with much heartache and many pleasures. But when you try to ignore the unavoidable - true love - well, the unavoidable means you can't, nothing stops it. Not even fear. True love is too passionate. It always comes back in the end, deeper than lifelong loves, deeper than life's involvements, and even deeper than mates. If your love is from the soul, it's timeless."

The Forever Evermore series includes the following installments as of February 2016. The ratings are my personal opinion only.
Saga 1:
#1-King Hall ★★★★★
#2-King Cave ★★★★★
#3-King Tomb ★★★★☆
Saga 2:
#4-Chosen Thief ★★★★★
#5-Chosen Fool ★★★☆☆
#6-Chosen One (not yet released)

Chosen Fool is FREAKING.AMAZING! I’m a sucker for books that pull me in and BOY, did Dawn pull out all the stops with this one.

It is year 2035 and Caro has recently replaced the Spirit Elemental Prodigy who died in a car crash. She is the first Spirit Elemental ever to selected and is a total unknown entity.

Caro is an amazing lead character. She is thrust into a ruling/heroine position after living a life as a thief and criminal to survive. She is witty and outrageously funny. Dawn writes Caro in a way that makes her completely relatable.

The One, the leader of the Spirit Elementals, along with 2 of his top advisors and guards has injected themselves into Caro’s life as a buddying prodigy. It seems they want to keep a close eye on her. Even though Caro had a rocky start with The One, it seems he’s still in hot pursuit to stay close by Caro’s side.

I really don’t want to give anything away but I can say, Oh My, I really didn’t see that one coming!

The past rulers, now called Elders and current rulers who are about to turn over their crowns are all present…and once again…I was shocked once again. WHAT.A.PLOT.TWIST!

I finished Chosen Fool and immediately decided to re-read Chosen Thief and then Chosen Fool again. Yes, t was that good!

If Scarlett Dawn writes it, I will be reading it.

I received this ARC copy of Chosen Fool from Scarlett Dawn in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication Feb. 5, 2016.

Reread December 2017.

4.5 stars. Love the last 3 or 4 chapters of this one so much.

Please excuse for a moment while I run around like an 11 year old Justin Bieber fan screaming OH MY GOD over and over. Because seriously OMG!

This is what the previous book should have been. It was more comprehensive and just generally a better book. You can actually get a handle on who Caro is by reading a bit about her past and some of her skills. The humour isn't over the top silly like the previous book. Everything was just right. But fuck me, why the hell did I decide to read it when the next book isn't out. WHY WHY WHY. I have precisely NO patience for waiting what so ever. I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW!

I received an eARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the contents of this review.

Initial Reaction

AND THEN

AND FINALLY

It’s no secret that I didn’t care for Chosen Thief, the first book in the second Forever Evermore saga. Caro wasn’t my favorite character. She was immature, indecisive and just plain got on my nerves! BUT that all changed in Chosen Fool. In this book Caro finally faces one of her greatest fears….feelings and the repercussions of those feelings. She goes on an exciting, albeit embarrassing adventure, and then THAT ending!!!!! Scarlett Dawn, do you know what you are doing to me?!

Caro Rocks!
Caro Jules, the elemental prodigy, is officially my new favorite heroine. She’s snarky at all the right times, yet she has a big heart, one that gets broken in this book….broken to the point that even I shed a few tears for her. With that in mind, you got to give the girl credit. She doesn’t wallow — well she does, just not much. And she kicks butt more than a few times using those mysterious powers of hers. Despite what is thrown at her, she faces it all head on and she conquers!!!!

Sin, who was my ship in Chosen Thief, is noticeable absent for a majority of the book. This did not make me happy, but I soon got over him. He breaks my heart as much as Caro though. He loves her, that much was obvious in the last book, but with the rules that are in place he can do nothing about it. AND he doesn’t know if Caro wants him too….

Leric, who was kinda, sorta, the main love interest in the last book, is back in this one. I didn’t trust him in Chosen Thief. He just shows up after he learns Caro is the elemental prodigy, wanting to guide her and teach her about her own powers. He’s mysterious, never giving many answers, and even Caro had questioned why he was there as her kind rarely leave their realm. He’s not unkind, on the contrary he made me swoon and still does. BUT none of the others trust him and when the confront Caro….well let’s just say it doesn’t go well.

Twisted Surprises
This book is full of surprises that I did not see coming, like AT ALL! Scarlett Dawn first off has created a massive world with the Forever Evermore saga. I don’t think I’ll ever be tired of this world! Elementals and mysticals and spirit realms and witches and wizards and were-creatures….I mean really, urban fantasy dream rolled into one amazing series.

This plot revolves around Caro, the mystery surrounding Leric, and Caro’s past with the Bossman. I was not prepared for what the author threw in during this book. Be warned there are some pretty graphic violent scenes of abuse that Caro and Sin face that left me in tears. THIS is why Caro is who she is and you don’t want to miss that!

BUT the surprises….oh man I can’t talk about this plot AT ALL without giving away spoilers so I’m done. No more. Just know starting this book that everything you think you know you don’t. You’ll be wrong, I guarantee it….unless you are Scarlett Dawn reading the book and then you’ll know what happens!

That Ending….Ugh!!!
Overall I loved this book! Caro is a different, more mature character and what she goes through in this book is enough to make anyone else dissolve into a blubbering mess, but she doesn’t. She pushes through and keeps going, she makes a bad situation work for her. For fans of the Forever Evermore saga, you don’t want to miss this book. If you’re a fan of urban fantasy, than I highly suggest you start the series ASAP! It won’t disappoint!

Caro has gone from crafty criminal and thief to Spirit Elemental Prodigy and future Queen of her people. As quickly as this change came about, the road ahead will be twisted, dangerous and for every two timely steps forward, she may be taking one huge step back. No shrinking violet, when danger rears its ugly head, the first one to jump in swords flying, is Caro, a young woman on a mission to clean house on evil and cement herself as a worthy prodigy. Trust me; nowhere along the way does Scarlett Dawn give her a break! Sit back, take a deep breath, then plunge right in, Chosen Thief is here and it is going to rock your world!

Are you ready for Caro? Hang on to your shorts, this girl is rough, tough, raw and edgy with a mouth that would make a trucker blush and she doesn’t care who hears what she has to say! On the flip side is a lonely girl, determined to stand up for herself with a heart of gold, and she didn’t even steal it!

Think you know where this one is going? Grab those shorts again, you are clueless, but with Scarlett Dawn as cruise director you KNOW you are going to have one heck of a time! Ms. Dawn can write! She does more than bring those characters to life, she makes you want to be them, even if just for a few minutes, to say what you want, be a superhero and bring the house down with her crazy “oops” moments. If the entire book were a journey through only Caro’s mind, I would come back feeling like I had won the Powerball! I bow to all things Scarlett Dawn, she gets me and what I need in one of her books!

I received an ARC edition from Scarlett Dawn in exchange for my honest review.

Ok. WOW. I don't even know where to start with this review. As soon as I start thinking about this story my mind is going in a million different directions until it feels like it's going to implode on itself. This book was SO MANY THINGS. So many GOOD things. It was an absolutely brilliant follow-up to the 4th book, Chosen Thief, and I am in love with these new prodigies. Dare I say it.....I think I love them even more than their predecessors.

At the end of Chosen Thief we were left with a lot of questions and not many answers (yet). It was a strong start to the new series about Caro and the gang and like any series worth its weight it had me marking days on my calendar until Chosen Fools release. Chosen Fool did not disappoint. It launched us straight into the action and within the first few chapters I thought my heart was going to explode as we got some angsty insight into a couple of the well loved characters. It was the answers I had both been hoping for and dreading and god help me, all I want now is MORE MORE MORE.

The new prodigies adventures and antics easily keep the reader hanging on every word and one of the things I love best about this series is the fact that Scarlett Dawn has managed to write about a new group of characters, living in the same world and holding the same positions within that world, but has managed to make the story completely unique. It would have been easy to fall back into the same predictable pattern as the story before it but instead she's brought a fresh and exciting new fable to the table.

The ending of this latest installment absolutely blew my mind and I'm fully aware that my whole review is full of mostly fan-girling and little of the story! But it's purposeful! (Kind of. I didn't mean for the fan-girling to escalate to this level but c'est la vie.) You need to read this freakin' series (if you're not already) and get to know these freakin' characters ASAP then message me so we can lose ours minds together because THAT ENDING. Curse you, Scarlett Dawn. Curse you. I'm begging you, please don't make us wait a whole year for the next book in the series!

One does not just read a Scarlett Dawn book. No. This book, just like the ones before it in this series are to be devoured yet savored. Contradiction for sure, but so true!

"Life is filled with much heartache and many pleasures. But when you try to ignore the unavoidable--true love--well, the unavoidable means you can't, nothing stops it. Not even fear. True love is too passionate. It always comes back in the end, deeper than lifelong loves, deeper than life's involvements, and even deeper than mates. If your love is from the soul, it's timeless."

When I started this book, I admit, it took me a minute to remember who I was dealing with. But once I got going, it was as if I was transported back in time. These characters never actually ever left my mind, my heart, my wildest imagination. With each passing page, I found myself being sucked back in to the lives of these people and their woes. I once again, fell in love with Caro. She's truly a unique soul and now with her second book, I feel like I know her just a little bit better...and yet, she's still so mysterious. Not just to me, but to everyone. I love that!

In this story we are taken on the journey of learning a little more about our Spirit Elemental Prodigy, Caroline Jules. We also learn that what we see, isn't always the case...

The cryptic stories, the unanswered questions, the multiple attractions (not acted on)...I couldn't wait to get to the end and find out how it all panned out. Wait. No. I could wait because I knew that Scarlett would leave me hanging...and she DID! From the very last scene, I knew what I was going to be faced with and I am both excited and terrified of what's in store for Caro...and the man she woke up next to!

"Life is short and fear is no obstacle for the soul."

I need the next book...even if it's just a few chapters to start. I'll gladly read in stages. This is just too good to wait and with each twist and turn, I'm pulled deeper into the life of these Mysticals. I want to know them all. I hope I get the chance.

I received an ARC of this book in response for an honest review.

Wow… I don’t know whether I should be worshiping Scarlett Dawn’s writing genius, or to hate her… because now I have to wait until the next book to come out!
Scarlett’s latest addition to the Forever Evermore series is set in the same world we all know and love. I am completely in awe of what Scarlett has created, both with what she has already done, and what what she is now creating. I did not think there was any way to top the first three Forever Evermore books but she has done it, and I am even more invested in Caro than ever.

Chosen Fool is set up like an intricate game of chess, with all the characters playing a role... just not necessarily the one you'd expect. All the characters are so much more complex than they originally appear, and we get to see new sides to characters we thought we knew. There were a number of things I was pretty sure were going to happen, and they did, but none of them were as important as what I thought they’d be. Why? Because Scarlett is devious. Intentional or not, she set up Chosen Fool for certain things to happen, or to come to light, and then she completely twisted the story to bring new ideas to life.

My one bad point to Chosen Fool? The cliffhanger!
Who am I kidding, I loved everything about this book, I just have long, depressing wait until the next one comes out.

I received a copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Scarlett Dawn has left me completely and utterly speechless.
Chosen Fool may be, and I don't say this lightly, her best yet!

Emma-Stone-Screaming-This-is-the-Best-Ellen

Chosen Fool, the follow-up to Chosen Thief, is flirtatious and funny, sexy and suspenseful, and full of twists and turns that I never imagined. Real-talk, in Chosen Thief, I loved the story, I loved Sin and catching up with my old favorites, but I never connected with Caro like I did with Lily in first Forever Evermore Saga. I just didn't fall for her the same, until now.
Chosen Fool revealed a completely different side of Caro that made her more relatable and sympathetic to me. I originally just kind of accepted that I won't always love the heroine of a series, but I'm totally (and quite happily) eating my words now because I like her so much. We got to see more depth and emotion and humor and badassery. Caro is a cool chick-- scratch that, she's just cool in general. Like you can't really decide if you want to be friends with her or if you're totally intimidated by her... but it's probably a mix of both. Caro's not the only one that seriously grew on me throughout Chosen Fool. All the prodigies did. I didn't feel like we got to know them very well in Chosen Thief, but now we did and they're great and unique and so different from their predecessors -- I just love it!
I can't get over it, how much I loved this book is difficult to put into words and I certainly can't explain all the why's without some major spoilerage happening, so I won't try. Just know that it's awesome and to expect anything.
In short, Scarlett Dawn has taken what often seems like a very formulaic genre and broken the mold in the best way possible. You will not be disappointed, except maybe for the fact that you have to wait for more! giphy

That cliffhanger is killer... but oh, so worth it.

YES!!! Yes!! YES!!! WAIT...WTH?!? Yes...OMG YES!!!!!!!
I have been waiting & waiting for this gem to make its debut, & boy was it worth it!!!!!
*Just as an FYI this book contains much more adult language & situations than the previous books in this series. There are also small mentions of torture & abuse.*
That being said ... most of it was very fitting for these characters' personalities & the rest of it brought about tears of laughter along with some rage, shock, & aha moments.
If you have been following these characters' journey then I feel you will not be let down with this installment. Chosen Fool was everything I hoped for & SOOOOOO much more!! Scarlett Dawn brings her usual intenseness bumped up a few more notches. It's astounding how she can still surprise me...even after all of the twists we've come to expect from these diverse worlds she creates...yet here I am oohing, aahing, screaming, cussing, & lifting my jaw up off the floor! And ... just when I'm in so deep I haven't even realized I'm on the last page ... BAM ... she leaves us free falling off that cliff. I envision her maniacal laughter in the background as she cues the lights & curtain, wishing us a good night! Meanwhile I will be freaking out until we get the next release, because this story has become a mega addiction! It is so intense & there are so many different ways she could spin us. Can NOT wait for more!!!

O. M. G. No she didn't. Yes she did. Jeez Scarlett ... That answers so many questions. Yet there's more to come. ❤️

Ok, so that was my initial thought after finishing this book at 3 AM! I couldn't put it down. Of course it's one of Scarlett's PNR. It's not going to be put down for much of anything. You don't necessarily have to read this series from the beginning...but trust me...you should. This is one of my favorite paranormal series. It's moved to the head of the class and devoured every time I get one loaded on my kindle.

So in Chosen Fool - wow does Caro have an adventure in this story. I can't wait to read more of her too. There were so many questions I had from the first book that I couldn't wait to get this one. Then I had that OMG moment during the story...wouldn't you know it was the end?!?! Gah! Scarlett does it again!

At least the next book isn't to far out...

Second Read - September 23 2019

So.... I’ve completed changes ships I’ll like you guys know.... and I am okay with the ending now lol

I will tell you I still doing get the whole build up for Leric if Caro react to what we find out half way isn’t as strong as you with think ... it is still all confusing ... I feel like the author shouldn’t have built it up as much but it still made for a great novel so who am I to say what Scarlett should and shouldn’t do!

Lol read it guys ! Also keep and open mind while reading

It’s definitely a 4 stars book this time around

First read - February 27 2016

Scarlett !!!!!!!! This book has seriously fucked me up ! Like I'm actually mentally confused right now! Don't know what to ship, what to expect, what to understand ! GajnsfkktwHkmnj give me the next one please

Edit - I also will like to say i am not here for the plot twist that happened in this two.. The halfway one or the last one. And i had one ship at the end of chosen theft and I'm sticking with it!
Ps. I still love Scarlett and will still read everything she writes just because she is the only author that can fuck me up like this besides Karen

This is an ARC review- free copy of the book in return of an honest review-
I love this world. It's hard because I want to compare this second series to the first (which is amazing) but this series has its own merits. Either because I've grown used to her, or she really is more relatable, I like Caro better in this book. I loved getting to see the interplay between Caro, the kings, and the elders although I felt like the other prodigies were a little ignored. The only reason I didn't give the book five stars was because a main plot twist really just confused me more than anything.

I received this ARC from the author, through Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.
I must say, I was surprised. I started this book a bit biased because I didn't like the first one in this trilogy. After a slow beginning, there's a lot of action. And I liked every surprise.
What I didn't like is the multitude of men in Caro's life. Is confusing. I want a strong romantic relationship and this book hasn't delivered.
But what a cliffhanger! Can't wait to read the next one.

Delightful!

This one is a bit hard to follow at times, and I am never really sure where she stands emotionally, or romantically, but our FMC is growing and learning. And with the events at the end, I think she is going to learn pretty dang fast!

ARC received for am honest review

This is the 5th book in the Forever Evermore series, but you only need to read the 4th book Chosen Thief before reading Chosen Fool - but why would you want to miss out.

Chosen Fool carries on where Thief ended. I am not going to lie, it did take me a little while to get into Chosen Thief as the main character Caro took a while for me to warm up to - but I certainly did not have this problem with Chosen Fool.

Caro is smart, funny, has a wicked wit and is full of snark - I like to think that we would be best friends! But in Chosen Fool, we also see a much softer side, heartbreak and tears all around.

She has gone from the unexpected Prodigy to a bad ass chick who tells it like it is.

There were lots of questions as the end of Chosen Thief, and many of them were answered in Fool, but man oh man we were left with a lot more questions to be answered.

There were times when I thought to myself

There were some absolutely hilarious moments in Fool, particularly with the Elders - let's just say that we see them in a completely different light!

There were so many twists and turns in Chosen Fool - who do you trust? What is real?

And then Ms Dawn left us with a scene that had me all

Now I NEED to know what happens. I will be impatiently waiting for Chosen One later in the year.

For all that is Holy!!!! I love Scarlett Dawn soooooooo freaking much and yet here I sit having just finished another book of hers that I was so anxiously awaiting, only to have inhaled it after starting it, in less than 24 hours and now I have to wait AGAIN!!!!! It's times like this where my love is a love/hate lmao.

Ok to catch everyone up, we are in the year 2035 and have our new Royal Prodigies. We now have Caro who is the Spirit Elementals Prodigy. She is such a complex and wonderful character and I love her dearly, she's constantly getting into some kind of trouble and it's hilarious. In the previous book, The One came with an entourage to stay with our Prodigies and Kings and Queens. I will say that The One is a sexy bastard and I want him for myself lol. Caro goes through some huge moments in this book that I feel will change her significantly, not only with her relationships but with her growth as a future Royal.

I don't want to let any secrets out or " The cat out of the bag." As some like to say, so I will instead say there are some serious revelations and questions that arise from what occurs. But also some questions are answered that had me jumping around in joy. While I also was shocked senseless at some other things revealed, I love learning more and more about the Spirit Mysticals since they are so mysterious.

Again not spilling the beans, but we get a look at something special and as I have said before , I love Antonio, he has always been one of my favorite characters and I'm looking forward to seeing how this is going to play out from another point of view!!! Ahhhh squealing like a child here lol.

Overall an AMAZING, HEARTSTOPPING, THRILLING ADVENTURE and one I cannot wait to continue! !! Gosh there is so much I want to say but I guess this will do it for now lol. I have a book to reread!!

I received a free copy of the ebook from the author via Netgalley. It doesn't affect my review in any way.

If you guys have read my other reviews on Scarlett Dawn's other series books, then you would know I am a fan of this author and have loved all her books so far! And add to that I have read the Forever Evermore first saga ( I haven't gotten around to reviewing them yet!), I was sure to enjoy this new one of hers.

The starting was a bit cumbersome to get into for me since I had read the other books a while back so I floundered a bit to remember all the characters. If you are reading from the beginning of the series, then you would have no problem assimilating it. After a few chapters, I got into the groove of the tale.

The familiar characters were upto the standards established in the previous books with their actions and reactions. The newer ones also added their special tang to the story. I especially loved Mrs Damon! She elicited lots of reactions from me from disbelief to humour. Caro does get into the most unusual situations. She always manages to surprise me. I preferred the second half Leric to the first one. And I am expecting more from him!

The story pace was quite fast, incidents almost piling up at times. But there were a few scenes, I don't remember which ones, which caused me to glance at the page count which is rare for me to do. Otherwise, the time literally flew while reading. The complexity of the plot as usual is quite synonymous with the author. She does add more intricate details to her writing.

The ending of the book quite sudden and unexpected. The unexpected part gave me pause and the sudden end has me whetted for more and I can't wait for the sequel. More sleepless nights I believe!!

I find it hilarious knowing now why Merrick and Fergus had that reaction to her. They've already been through the 90s hahahaha I love your mind Scarlett Dawn! Can't wait for December.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I've actually taken a couple of days to process the feels from this book since I devoured it as soon as it landed in my inbox, and the only conclusion that I've come to is I need MORE. As if the plot twisting and turning didn't have me jonesing for the next fix. Chosen Fool picks up where Chosen Thief left with our merry band of faction leaders and progidies, then takes us on a whirlwind of adventure. Caro is in the unfortunate position of being the prodigy elemental queen and she's also a spirit elemental, the most rare of the elemental faction. We learned some things in Chosen Thief about the spirit elemenatals, but not enough to really understand them. They remained this enigma, making the reader truly sympathize with King Collins for trying to teach someone that he has no idea what kind of power they weild. Not going to lie, I got just as excited as he did everytime Caro revealed something about the spirit elementals. Then we have the continuation of beautiful character development, which is one of my favorite things about Scarlett Dawn. She doesn't have filler characters. Even ones introduced forever ago in the King books continue to grow and develop in the Chosen books. As one of the faithful readers of Scarlett Dawn , I've read all of her books and Chosen Fool is my new favorite. Go forth and read, but start with King Hall if you haven't picked up the series yet.

This is probably one of my favourite series/worlds to read about. I have already read this twice I couldn't get over how good it is, it put me in sort of book slump after because I couldnt find anything to read as good as it afterwards! yeah its that entertainingly good.

General Comments
At first I was missing the King Hall series characters but this series has almost replaced it as a favourite. The things Caro gets into is hilarious and I find myself actually laughing out loud, I really go through all the emotions with this book. Even reviewing it right now I want to re read it for a third time just to get back into this story, its safe to say I'm very excited for the next book.

Characters
Caro is just so funny and strong I admire her and think shes just a brilliant character, I love that even in these books we still get to read about our favourites from the other series. These characters don't annoy me and I love it Im just excited to find out what Caro gets into next and how she deals with it.

World Building
Amazing world building its vivid and understandable its not too out there but actually makes sense. With each book we get a clearer understanding of the characters and world I feel like theres still so much hidden that I'm just excited to read about.

This book begins when Sin decides to leave for a while. He and Caro can't seem to deal with their relationship right now, and it just gets worse as time goes on.
But Caro ends up finding out somethings about "the One" and once she takes care of that issue more things start to arise that make it difficult for her to continue on alone.

But she does her best to get through it all and stand strong.
However, when someone is after her and she gets taken on a crazy journey, things might not turn out all that great when the past literally brings her confusion.

Chosen Fool was really good! I adored this book. I really loved how Caro was able to handle her self and figure things out pretty quickly.
I also enjoyed how her love life got narrowed down a little bit, but then in the crazy cliffhanger it got more complicated.

I cannot believe it ended that way, now I'm going to be crazy till the next book comes out.
I really thought this one was good. It had one of the best plot lines in this series, and I just loved the main heroine. She is growing as a character, and she's truly smart, unless it deals with men. But other than that, she was amazing.

In the spirit of all things Scarlett, this review will be vague, leave you wondering, and (hopefully) make you click faster than Cyber-Monday.

There are not enough stars. I give 6.

I love Caro. She is my favorite. She is flawed but strong, smart but inexperienced, and FULL OF SECRETS! We get a few answers to questions left from Chosen Thief, but I think more questions were raised! Not just about her, but many of the characters and the world itself.

I highlighted the sh*t out of this book, but I can't bring myself to put the quotes here. I'm so worried I've missed something and will post a clue! Just know that whatever you think is going to happen, well, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're probably 99% wrong. And that is good! Because Scarlett knows better than we do.

All of our favorites are back, plus a few newbies that will totally make your head spin. I loved the depth each character is given; the attention to detail is insane! I would pay big money to see the walls of this author's office. But, I bet I'd still miss sh*t and would be surprised reading the books.

(dont ever hook up with Brann and Sin please please please.......) i have no idea why but i really don't dig the Caro and Brann vibe it just pushes me away as for Caro and Sin its too predictable and easy :/ ... loved everything :)

What can I say? I love this series! Every book provides something new and I love every minute of it. The character relationships are unique and great. The plot is fast paced and always has my attention. The plot twists constantly leave me reeling because I never see them coming. I don't want this series to end because I am having such a great time with it.
Caro was great as usual. Her snark and her badassery makes her a fun female character that I constantly want to know more about. Every time I think I have figured her out, I learn something new about her that completely shocks me. For example, I found out in this book that she was abused up until about 22 years old. And when I say abuse, I mean traumatizing, never get over it kind of abuse. I felt so bad for Caro when I found out and I was shocked to learn how she held herself together through it all. I admire her greatly for her bravery and tenacity through what she went through her whole life.
Caro's love life is a mess. If I am being honest, I have NO clue who she is going to end up with. Every time I think I know, Scarlett Dawn flips it around. People I think are big contenders to end up with her end up betraying her and are now a no go. People I never really considered are now in the running. Fortunately, I will be happy with just about anyone she ends up with as long as they treat her how she deserves and she is happy.
Overall, I love this series and I enjoy every new installment. I will DEFINITELY be reading the next book. How could I not after that cliffhanger?!

Problem with these is that you need to be up to date with the series in order to understand what’s going on and who is who and what they can do. It’s too much time in between these and by the time you read the next you either have to go back or just try to figure it out.

Because I didn’t want to go back, I really had little clue about what was going on. I was thinking something would get resolved with this one because I don’t think anything was out the last one. Now it seems we’ll have to wait for another. Not sure if I’ll continue with these or I may just wait until the final one then pick it up again.
