It starts with an exciting battle for the first third, then trails off to a "meh" conspiracy where not much story progression happens for most of the rest of the book and culminates in an exciting and tense standoff. The middle of the book pushes this down to a three star, while the start and the finish elevate the book back to a four star. Oh, and there are 4, not 5.
