Time Waits - Track Two: A World War 2 Time Travel Novel by Elyse Douglas is a well-written time travel romantic masterpiece. It is full of interesting interactions between Jennifer Ryan, a divorcee who has moved from New York City to a small quaint little town in Ohio. Maplewood is just the escape she needs to set her life on the right track.
Jennifer, at twenty-five years old, has given up on finding happiness after her husband cheated on her with her best friend. Moving to Maplewood, living in a small town seems almost as if she has moved back decades in the past with the Victorian homes, the small stores on main street, a town where everyone knows everyone. Little does Jennifer know, moving to Maplewood might be a town that seems decades behind the fast pace of New York City just might truly lead her to a life decades prior to her current life in the present.
After giving up on love and happiness with a man and working from home, she stumbles upon just that, an honest, strong man, who has the morals of a genuine loving and caring man. The only problem, the man she finds and comes to realize is the man she was meant to spend the rest of her life with, her true love, died eighty some years in the past during World War II.

Bring the Vet
Hope Jennifer steps back to the future with the companion she sought in the attic. Otherwise, the shadow of grandma will always be hovering above, judging and clinging to her grandson. So much promise before ending in a sour note.

As I got into this story I couldn't figure out if this was a ghost story or simply a spooky story. As the story moved on, I began to think it was something else. What that was, I couldn't put my finger on it and just enjoyed it.
It's very well written as are all of the authors' books that I have read. Unfortunately, the ending and I mean the very last few words of the story left me hanging. Maybe it's just me but I feel the story earned a much more satisfying ending.

Emotional intelligence is not the main character's forte. Who would want to go back and live in the 40s. I get it that she loved that man in a mysterious way after being reincarnated from his former girlfriend. His former girlfriend had issues--it didn't sound like she loved the guy (forgot his name) so much that she would come back for him. Anyway, the protagonist choose to live with a disapproving mother in law, and a gossiping town wearing uncomfortable clothes and being treated worse than they treat women today. I would not go back there if I had the choice, not even for a hunky man.

Not my favourite of this author's work, but enjoyable nonetheless. The main character is a bit soppy and dithery for my liking! The love interest, Tom, seems a bit thick...never asks Jennifer any questions about her past and wants to marry her right away...I know there was a war on but really?
I love time travel stories,I read this one in 2 hours straight, but it's a bit naïve and doesn't have much depth to it. OK to pass the time.

Great book! I had to get up early in the morning because I wanted to see what would happen. I had honestly thought that somehow the future might come back into play somehow. Perhaps you could write a follow up book where they both went back into the future and something interesting could happen. I wanted to see what happened to her cell phone, her friend and the time portal. Maybe travel back and forth and change things. just a thought. I really enjoy your books and will read all of them. Great writing.

Fun twist on time travel - my favorite genre. Love is mysterious and maybe it can transcend time.. Jennifer is drawn to the train tracks, and a feeling that something awaits her after finding hidden pictures and newspaper clippings in the attic. Douglas integrates history with fiction with a trip to 1943, and gives us a love story that feels real and credible. If you like time travel novels, this one I highly recommend.

Captivating story once started is hard to put down
Great story different than other time stories very touching. You read and try to push the characters wanting them to do things another way. In the end all good decisions , but there is the possibility of a following story as something was left behind.

This is about the 5th book I’ve read by Elyse Douglas. I would say my favorite but I’ve loved them all. I meant to space this book out and not read it all in one afternoon but I couldn’t help myself. I’m looking forward to their next book!

Love conquers all!
What a great read. The author's ability to take you into an impossible situation and have you living through each moment and then to impatiently move onto the next moment, the next challenge, for the main characters in this book I found breathtaking.

A Truly Great Story
Else absolutely delives the reader directly into the past with clarity and attention to detail. It gave me a real sense of what life during WWII was actually like for my father and my grandparents. The read was absolutely delightful and I highly recommend!

Excellent! I loved it!
What a truly heart wrenching remarkable story and one of my favourites. It had me hooked from the very beginning. I hope this is the beginning of a new series. I look forward to reading more of Jennifer and Tom's story.

Beautiful love storyNnie
I was just a child during WW II and.my uncle was "missing in action". I recall the anguish of that telegram and my Grannies heartbreak. Our story had a happy ending too. They are not called " the Greatest Generation without reason.

A slow developing story where she decides to go back in time to fall I. Love with a guy who would get killed in the war. She manages to have an influence and he survives for a happily ever after.

Yes, it's far fetched, but it's engrossing, romantic, and captures small town America during World War II.

Another Excellent Story from Elyse Douglas
This is definitely a time travel novel. A young woman has found a picture and some other things from the 1940s in the attic of a grandmother. They show a young man (soldier) has died in 1944. The woman has a strange experience with people from the 1940s appearing on the train. She eventually returns to the train and walks into the 1940s hoping to find the young soldier and save him from dying.
