She was born to break his curse. He might destroy her first.

I follow her shadow.

I show her love.

I lie to her so well, even the truth sounds like it.

She is my wife. My obsession. But I am the monster she hates, hiding behind the face of a charming sculptor… and she doesn’t know.

I lied. To her. To myself. To everyone who believed I could love her like a normal man.

I was fine without her once. She was free without me. But then we met.

And now I want her in ways that don’t feel like love anymore.

I want her close. I want her obedient. I want her to stop looking at me like she might run.

But she hates liars. She hates monsters. She would hate everything I am.

And she will… when the curse finally strips me bare.

It lives in my bloodline like a sickness that refuses to end. And it chose my wife.

Because the curse cannot kill me directly. It needs her hands to do it.

And I protect her the only way I know how—by becoming the thing that the curse cannot control.

Because if I lose this game, she dies with me.

And if I win… I keep her.

So, I will win. Even if she hates what I become to save her.

Even if I have to burn the curse… and the monster inside it… alive.

And even if she sees the monster and runs. She thinks she has a choice.

She never did.

This book definitely lives up to its title. Amir and Amery’s relationship is intense from the very beginning, and their story takes readers through obsession, trust, betrayal, forgiveness, and some seriously dark moments.

Amir is a fascinating character because he knows how intense and possessive his feelings are, yet he constantly tries to hide that side of himself because he’s afraid Amery will see him differently. Amery, meanwhile, has to decide whether she can truly accept him as he is rather than loving only the version of him she feels comfortable with.

The paranormal storyline involving Willow Crest, the mysterious Willow, the recurring nightmares, the ring, and the connection to Amir’s bloodline added a completely different layer to the romance. I liked how the mystery slowly unfolded and connected the past to what was happening to Amir and Amery in the present.

There are definitely some very dark and disturbing scenes, so this is not a book I’d recommend to someone looking for a light romance. The author includes plenty of content warnings for a reason.

What I enjoyed most was the emotional journey. Beneath all the darkness, this story is ultimately about two people learning that love requires honesty, trust, acceptance, and forgiveness.

The ending gave me the happy payoff I was hoping for after everything Amir and Amery endured, and seeing them years later with their family was such a satisfying way to finish their story.

If you enjoy dark romance, obsessive heroes, morally gray characters, paranormal elements, curses, mystery, and intense relationships, this is definitely one to check out.

Thank you to the Author for giving me the opportunity to read your creation.

This book was a whirlwind, is the best I can say. It centers around a possessive love turned into a marriage, but a homewrecker essentially enters the picture due to a long standing curse brought upon the MMC’s bloodline. HEA at the end though!

The FMC and MMC met in college, and the MMC starts down a possessive path of wanting her and ‘would burn anything in his path to have her.” However, due to her grandmother’s past, she refuses to be tied to a possessive love. Enter the stalkerish MMC… The FMC agrees to 1 night with the MMC so he can show her how he cares for her, which ends up to a long lasting relationship into getting married.

However, the FMC has experienced nightmares surrounding a creepy woman, which bewilders the FMC. She never understood what it meant. But they were connected to a long standing curse of the MMC’s bloodline from betrayal. The FMC and MMC have a fierce love that helps them conquer the curse with the help of some trusted friends in a town that holds many secrets.

I gave this a 1.5 star, as it just wasn’t my cup of tea. The plot seemed very confusing around the curse/nightmares. Plus, stalker vibes aren’t my jam, but I went into this one with little information except the paranormal aspect. However, if you enjoy a fierce love story, mystery, stalker vibes, and some curse-breaking plot… this is a story for you.

Okay, Amir Rowan’s definition of love is essentially:

“I love you.”
“I need you.”
“You’re mine.”
“And if the universe tries to take you from me, I’ll probably fight the universe.”

😂

What surprised me the most about To Obey His Madness was how much was happening beyond the romance.

Amir and Amery are the main characters, but Willow Crest almost feels like another character. There are curses, dreams, old betrayals, bloodlines, folklore, murder, obsession, reincarnation/fate vibes, and a mystery gradually connecting everything together.

And Amir? This man’s devotion is NOT normal. His love for Amery crosses into obsession and limerence, and the book doesn’t pretend that every aspect of that is romantic or healthy. That psychological element made him much more intriguing to me than a typical possessive darkromance MMC.

This book is dark, strange, obsessive, atmospheric, and definitely for readers who enjoy their romance mixed with something a bit unhinged.

Please check the trigger warnings first because this story delves into some very dark territory.

It was a good book. A little confusing It had a good mix of dark romance, mystery, obsession, and spice that kept me wanting to know what was really going on. I did figure out a few things before they happened, but it still left me questioning everything and wondering what was going to happen next.
I really liked the whole idea of the curse and how she was connected to it, especially knowing she was essentially made for him while he was trying to protect her from the very thing that could destroy them both. There was so much hidden beneath the surface with him, and watching everything slowly come together was so good.
And the spice... WOW. 🔥 This book is definitely spicy spicy, and I am here for it! I loved the relationship between them and the darker, obsessive side of their connection.
Overall, this was a good read.

I wanted to love this. I truly did. I was pretty confused the whole time. Like I thought I understood what was happening and then the next page I was in a completely different story. I mean good for them for figuring it out and getting their happy ending. Maybe I just didn't get what was going on but I felt this was very very hard to follow the entire time.
