As bodyguard to one of the world’s biggest pop stars, his rules are stay invisible, stay vigilant, and keep Cai safe at all costs. He despises the chaos of fame—the red carpets, the drama—but most of all, he despises personal assistants who think they run the show.
Lucy Taylor lives by control.
For four years, she’s kept a demanding diva’s world perfectly in tune, sacrificing her own wellbeing to keep the peace. But a ruthless backstage power play leaves Lucy without the career she fought to build—and no one to blame but the man who chose a prank over her.
Now, amid sold-out concerts, obsessive fans, and too many cities, Lucy and Rhys are forced into each other’s orbit. Every glance lingers too long. Every argument sparks with heat neither of them can afford. Lucy is the risk Rhys swore he’d never take. Rhys is the man who cost Lucy everything.
When danger resurfaces, duty and desire collide. And in the shadows where secrets thrive, Lucy and Rhys must decide whether protecting the star is enough—or if some risks are worth stepping into the light for.

"This Is Going to Ruin the Tour" by Lowri Charles is quite fun for the most part. I think both characters have their flaws at the start. Lucy (FMC) is the plus-size personal assistant to Cai, the world's biggest pop star, and a bit of a know-it-all. She's confident, sure, but it rubs some people the wrong way, like Rhys (MMC). Rhys is Cai's best friend/grumpy bodyguard/assh0le who comes off as extraordinarily unlikeable for a good portion of the book. I'd say this is one of the biggest enemies-to-lovers stories I have read thus far. You really get the sense that they hate each other, and I'm not sure I mean this fully as a compliment. I was worried they were never going to become lovers! The "enemies" portion takes up a good bit of the book, and I think that's what contributed to it feeling a bit long to me. They eventually put their differences aside and became friendly with one another, and then they became more than friends. The writing of their workplace romance feels effortless once Rhys gets to know Lucy for who she is. I came around to their romance eventually, but it was roooough at first, mostly because Rhys was so negative towards Lucy for basically no reason! Some might read this as "tension," and while there is definitely some banter between them, these instances read a bit more abrasive to me. There is also a suspense/mystery element as Cai is being stalked by someone online and in person, and Rhys and Lucy are trying to figure out who it is. I must admit, I did not see the answer coming! I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. I also enjoyed all of the side characters, from Cai to Deryn the bus driver, Gethin the stern boss, to Bethan, Rhys's sister/Cai's partner. All in all, I enjoyed this book for the most part. It's a bit chaotic and stressful, sure, but it's engaging and interesting. It gives an intriguing behind-the-scenes look at the music/concert industry, including what it's like on the bus and backstage at gigs, what goes into making a concert, the minutiae of touring, etc. The book does feel a little bit long and repetitive at times, but I did enjoy it for the most part.
Thank you to Lowri Charles and Love Notes PR for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.
Sometimes you just need a book that is equal parts chaotic, romantic, and incredibly easy to read.
This story follows Lucy, a dedicated personal assistant who finds herself working for a new pop star, landing her right in the path of Rhys, his protective and deeply grumpy bodyguard. Their enemies-to-lovers arc is intense, and while their early friction felt a bit sharp, it made their eventual transition into partners feel hard-won and genuinely satisfying. I was completely invested in watching them drop their guard and discover the chemistry beneath the tension.
Beyond the romance, I was hooked by the authentic look at the touring lifestyle and the tight-knit bond within the crew. The setting felt vibrant and real, bolstered by lovely cultural touches that made the world feel lived-in. I was also genuinely caught off guard by the suspenseful mystery subplot, which provided a perfect hit of adrenaline without overshadowing the character growth. It felt like I was right there on the bus with them, growing fond of the entire cast as they navigated the stress of life on the road.
Even though a glimpse into their future would have been a lovely bonus, the conclusion still left me feeling content and happy. I truly appreciated the focus on authentic, human emotions and the refreshing portrayal of curvy leads who are both brave and vulnerable. This was a heartfelt, engaging experience that hit all the right notes with its blend of humor and tenderness. It was a genuine joy to read, and I will be recommending it to anyone looking for a story that feels both grounded and exciting.
I genuinely recommend this to anyone looking for a book that feels warm and satisfying.

Huge thank you to Lowri Charles and Loves Notes PR for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨
Honoured to have been a beta reader for this book.
Anything set in Wales with Welsh language is a yes from me.
Plus sized main characters make my life happy and this is a truly representative book of all characteristics.
I loved the plot of the book as well as the romance. Lowri’s writing never fails to make me giggle and smile. Thank you for letting me be a small part of this books journey to release xx
This book was something different and I loved it! The vibe, the characters, the humor and the wonderful friendships were just great!
When I started the book, I had no idea what to expect! I was pleasantly surprised! The story immediately drew me in, since I’d never read a book about bodyguards and personal assistants to pop stars before. And it was just great! The way the story unfolded and getting to know the different characters was just fantastic and really lovely! The storyline itself was also totally exciting. I really felt like I was part of the team and taking part in the concerts and preparations. I also really liked the thriller elements and the plot twists at the end, as they gave the story a real kick.
What really stood out were the amazing characters. By that I mean both the main characters and the supporting characters, who I really grew to love. The two main characters were very authentic and I loved them both and as a couple, they were even better!! The FMC is super strong, brave and knows exactly what she wants, and she’s not afraid to give it her all to get it! The MMC is incredibly authentic, sweet and has a huge heart. Together, they’re an unbeatable team and the chemistry between them was just palpable! I also loved that the characters were portrayed so humanely, with their emotions, behaviors and reactions. It just felt totally authentic to me and I also loved that both main characters were curvy.
A very exciting, captivating book with a good plot and a few thriller elements. It also delves a bit deeper in some places and makes you think. There were also lots of beautiful scenes that created a great vibe, and the writing style was very fluid and easy to follow!
I definitely recommend this book! It’s a great mix of music, friendship and love, and it was a total blast to read. Great book!
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book, and I really enjoyed reading it!
This is an enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romance, and I really enjoyed watching the relationship between the two main characters evolve. Once they moved beyond the initial animosity and started flirting, their chemistry was great, and I was invested in their growing relationship and rooting for their happily ever after.
I really enjoyed the music tour setting. The behind-the-scenes details and nuances were explained in a way made it easy to follow even without prior knowledge without any over explaining. I also loved that the story was set in England, Scotland and Wales, featuring use of English slang and colloquialisms alongside Welsh language and cultural references in a way that never felt shoehorned in.
The only reason this wasn't quite a five-star read for me was that I found the transition from enemies to friends a little sudden. I also felt that the FMC forgave some of the MMC's early behaviour rather quickly, and before his motivations were revealed, his dislike of her felt difficult to understand. As a result, I found it a little harder to move past his initial treatment of her than the story seemed to expect.
That said, once their relationship began to develop, I absolutely loved them together. Their relationship was lovely, and I particularly enjoyed seeing them navigate the crime and mystery.
I would have loved an epilogue set a little further into the future so I could see that the characters had continued to heal from their trauma and were happily building a life together. However, ending where it did also leaves plenty of room for their relationship to continue developing in future books, which I would definitely be interested in reading!
Overall, this was a thoroughly enjoyable romance with engaging characters, a mystery subplot, and a UK setting which was all done brilliantly. I'd happily recommend it!
This Is Going To Ruin The Tour 🎤 Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Lowri Charles for trusting me with this ARC! Rhys Pritchett's one and only goal is to ke💕ep one of the world's biggest pop stars Cai safe at all costs. So stay vigilant, unapproachable and tough is his only way of behaving in public. Lucy Taylor sacrificed everything in her own life in order to keep the biggest diva on the universe in a perfect tune, but of course fame took over, and instead of being praised by her,she found herself without a job.Until she works with Cai,and Rhys...
Okay,I say no summary needed with this title?Because this clearly will ruin this, and every tour you put these two together. Now getting into the story,I can say we are getting some business done, while burning some hearts up in this book.Lucy, does really love her job, most of the time at least, and when she works with Cai rather with some attention seeking person, she really understands the vibe.Until Rhys shows up and things take and interesting turn.As a woman, she fierce, bold, loud, beautiful and I can keep going for days, and she really gave color into the story(WE LOVE LUCY🤏🏼).Through her,we got some beautiful plus size representation, that I really liked, while she also gave us an amazing, and interesting paced romance with the hottest bodyguard around.Rhys,is the simple grumpy guy ,that will slowly became THE lover boy of the year.(he was literally so cute😭) Their romance, was really good from my perspective,he have had feelings, moments BUT for most of their time she was giving us a treat with them AND THEN SHE WAS TAKING BACK,and I was like NO I NEED MORE!Yet,we had our beautiful HEA,after having a heart attack.OKAY I AM NOT SAYING MORE!🔒 Out On June 25th✨ 4⭐
While this is not my usual reading genre, I loved this so much. I quickly got hooked, and devoured this over a single weekend.
Lucy, our FMC, is such a sweetheart. She's a PA for a pop star, and while I've never worked in such a role myself, I have an idea of just how stressful it can be.
Rhys is the head of security for a pop star, who also happens to be his childhood best friend. He's really good at his job, and cares deeply about his team, so having a new member come in and try to manage the group brings out his grumpy protective side.
Cai, the pop star, and Bethan, Cai's girlfriend and Rhys's sister, are such a sweet couple. Sure they were not the focus of this story, but, we see enough of them for me to decide I think they are cute together.
Of course, this story revolves around Lucy & Rhys and, when they are getting along, they are adorable together too 💕
I won't go into spoilers, but the big twist towards the end I totally did not see coming! I think my heart was in my throat for a while, and my anxiety was anxietying! Normally I can brush off any stressful situations in books, but when it's one that is set in places I've actually been to, it just hits a bit differently.
Finally, while I'm not a Welsh speaker, I do live in South Wales and really enjoyed the bits of Cymraeg scattered throughout this story. Don't worry, there are translations in the front of the book, although context clues meant I wasn't flicking back and forth to see what was said (I just put myself in Lucy's place, as she doesn't speak Welsh either).
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic story 💕
I loved this story and hope one day to listen to it as an audiobook. Our FMC, Lucy is an overworked PA for a pop star. She comes across as a know-it-all but in reality she needs to know as much as she can so she can anticipate what her client needs. Then it happens and Lucy is out of a job so she applies to work for the pop star that was part of the reason she's out of a job. Unfortunately this means she has to work along side his bodyguard, Rhys. Rhys is a grumpy a*hole who hates know-it-alls especially Lucy. The enemy part of this book took up a decent portion and didn't fade immediately. I really appreciated this as it felt like that is what would happen in real life. You wouldn't immediately go from enemies to lovers at the drop of a hat. Their relationship felt like it progressed fairly organically and they developed their feelings from professional respect to love at good pace. I read this in June, Happy Pride, so I want to point out how this book while it has what appears to be straight couples in this book (main and side), both of the men are not fully straight. Out MMC stated how he slept with Cai (pop star) in the past and maybe would've been in a relationship with him but his sister got her hooks in him first. Its not stated with malice just a passing thought but a part of his backstory. I really liked the twists and turns in the storyline. I LOVE the body positivity in this book. I love how our FMC is plus sized and good with it and the fact that our MMC while very strong isn't also ripped all over, he's built like every bodyguard/bouncer/security person I've ever met. Plus who doesn't love a soft tum to snuggle against.
So I was one of the lucky few who got an ARC for this, and I couldn’t be happier.
When a dressing room prank gone wrong has Lucy losing her job as Popstar Topaz’s personal assistant. She ends up switching teams from Hight Maintenance Topaz to the easier to handle Cai. The only issue? It’s puts Lucy in close proximity with Cai’s grumpy bodyguard Rhys, who doesn’t seem super keen at the idea of working alongside Lucy. The ice between them slowly melts as they have to work closely together to keep Cai safe from a potential stalker.
This was such an engaging and fun story. Lucy is the detailed oriented, organizes everything to a T - who clashes with Rhys grumpy “don’t tell me how to do my job” demeanor. And watching Rhys go from grumpy to golden retriever for Lucy just melts your insides, and leaves you needing MORE.
Cai is such a sweetie ! If more musicians were like him, the world would be much better. I honestly adore how much of a caring friend he is in the story. And even though he’s the talent , he goes above and beyond to make people feel special.
The slow burn in this romance is just Chef Kiss !!! And when they FINALLY start having moments you’re straight up cheering.
Alongside the budding romance is the mystery of who’s stalking Cai, and what their end game is. I thought this was well done. It’s constantly there as something to be observant of, but it never overshadows. And the resolution to that plot point gives us some great character growth.
Overall, this is a super fun story that keeps your attention the whole time. I think anyone who enjoys Rivals To Lovers & Grumpy X Sunshine will enjoy this.
This Is Going to Ruin the Tour is a witty, engaging novel that blends romance, humour, and an unexpected twist into a story that feels effortlessly readable. Lowri Charles writes with a style that calls to mind Sophie Kinsella — light, clever, and full of sharply observed moments that make the characters feel instantly familiar.
At the centre of the novel is a love story between two believable, well‑drawn characters whose chemistry feels natural rather than forced. Their dynamic gives the book its warmth, while the unfolding plot — complete with a twist that genuinely surprises — keeps the pages turning. The balance between romance and story is handled with confidence, allowing both elements to shine without overshadowing each other.
Charles’s writing is easy to sink into: crisp dialogue, relatable emotions, and a tone that stays entertaining even when the stakes rise. The characters behave like real people, with flaws, humour, and reactions that make sense, which grounds the more chaotic moments of the tour setting.
Overall, This Is Going to Ruin the Tour is a charming, witty, and satisfying read. It offers the fun of a contemporary romantic comedy with the added pleasure of a twist that elevates the story beyond the expected. Lowri Charles delivers a novel that feels polished, heartfelt, and full of personality.
This is a twist on your classic rockstar romances as it focuses on those behind the scenes (fyi my dream job would be to work behind the scenes for a band or artist so this really called to me). Also the repping of Wales and the welsh language always be an instant win for me and this is no exception to that rule. I loved being able to test my knowledge of the welsh language with the little sprinklings throughout (please Lowri can we have a bonus scene of Rhys trying to teach Lucy Welsh! 😂).
It also includes some of my most favourite tropes such as: 💖 Dual POV 💖 Forced Proximity 💖 Workplace Romance 💖 Slow Burn 💖 Rivals-to-Lovers 💖 Grumpy x Sunshine (Emphasis on the Grumpy!) 💖 Plus Size MC's 💖 Tipyn bach o Gymraeg!!!
I instantly fell in love with Rhys, the absolute grump, and watching him grate against Lucy in the beginning to then seeing their relationship develop through their time together had me eager to turn the page. Whilst their romance is front and centre, there is an underplot that also had me up staying up past me bedtime and the ending I was not expecting at all and it really caught me unawares - you really have to read it to find out but its a good one!
I don't want to spoil too much as so all that's left to say is I had a great time reading this, and I would recommend adding this to your TBR for the summer!
This Is Going to Ruin the Tour was one of those stories that completely pulled me in from the very first chapter and never let me go. The forced proximity of being on tour together, mixed with the humour, tension and slow-burn romance, made it impossible to put down.
Rhys and Lucy were such brilliant characters. I loved watching their relationship evolve as they were forced to spend more time together. Their banter had me smiling constantly, but it was the quieter, more emotional moments that really made me fall in love with them. They both felt so real, with insecurities and worries that made them incredibly easy to root for.
Lowri has such an effortless writing style that balances laugh-out-loud moments with genuine heart. The romance felt natural, the chemistry was fantastic, and I loved the way the story explored friendship, family and finding your place alongside the romance.
This was an easy five-star read for me, and I’ll definitely be recommending it. If you’re looking for a funny, heartfelt, queer romance with forced proximity, plenty of banter and characters you’ll genuinely care about, I’d absolutely pick this one up.
Rhys and Lucy started off getting on my last nerve in the best possible way. The bickering? Elite. The tension? Delicious. The slow burn had me sitting there like “okay… maybe just one more chapter” and suddenly it was 2 a.m.
What I loved most was that this wasn’t just a romance. It felt like being thrown behind the scenes of a huge music tour—with all the drama, pressure, security nightmares, and complete madness that comes with it. And just when I thought I knew where the story was going, the book decided to stress me out. The romance was sweet, the chemistry was of the charts, and Rhys being protective had me absolutely feral.
If you love: 🎶 behind-the-scenes music industry vibes 🖤 grumpy x sunshine energy 🔥 slow-burn romance 🚨 suspense that keeps you turning pages 💬 banter that actually makes you smile
then add this one to your TBR immediately.
This book did not ruin the tour. It ruined my sleep schedule. I loved how real the characters felt and how naturally their relationship developed. They were messy, funny, and easy to root for.
This Is Going To Ruin the Tour by Lowri Charles is a charming, emotional, and often hilarious romance that balances laugh-out-loud moments with genuine heart. Lowri Charles has a talent for creating relatable characters whose flaws make them feel authentic, and the chemistry between the leads is engaging from the very first chapter. In this novel, we are introduced to the FMC Lucy Taylor, a woman who helps keep demanding diva’s world perfectly in tune and the MMC Rhys Pritchett, a bodyguard to one of the world’s biggest pop star. While reading this novel, I fell in love with the humor between the main characters. The dialogue felt natural and witty, and the awkward situations the characters found themselves in create plenty of entertaining moments. Overall, This Is Going To Ruin the Tour is a fun, feel-good read that delivers both romance and emotional depth, that had me smiling well after I finished reading.
I received an ARC copy from Love Notes PR. Thank you so much for giving me a chance to read and voluntarily review this novel!
Can we PLEASE talk about these characters?! 😭💖 Not just the main couple, but the entire cast had me so emotionally invested. Every side character added something special, and I genuinely loved watching them all come to life.
The main couple, though? EVERYTHING. The FMC is fierce, determined, and unapologetically goes after what she wants. She’s strong without feeling unrealistic, and I was rooting for her from page one. The MMC is an absolute sweetheart with the biggest heart, and his kindness and authenticity completely won me over.
Together? They were unstoppable. Their chemistry practically jumped off the page, and every interaction had me smiling, kicking my feet, or melting into a puddle. 🥹
One of my favorite things was how *real* everyone felt. Their emotions, flaws, reactions, and growth were so genuine that it never felt forced or over-the-top. And I absolutely loved seeing both main characters represented as curvy—it added another layer of authenticity that made me love this story even more. 🫶✨
This book has everything you could ever want! Curvy no-nonsense FMC, Ahole ginger MMC, a hippieish rock star, close proximity; and enemies to lovers. The characters are well written and full of flaws and chaos and good intentions.
I absolutely HATED Rhys for the first half of the book for how much of a jerk he was while I cheered on Lucy and adored Cai. The tension and buildup between Rhys and Lucy were sooooooo good I was giggling and kicking my feet during some of it. I loved how confident and self a sure Lucy was in her job and her life and how she refused to shrink herself to make people comfortable. And once I got over my Rhys hate I realized that most of his actions came from a place of hurt and trauma and that he was actually a great guy. Now I know the story was centered on Lucy and Rhys's love story, but I have to mention that Cai is like that goofy, lovable, life of the party friend we all have that we would follow anywhere/do anything for and I absolutely adored him.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Let me just start by saying this book was recommended to me, and I’m really glad I picked it up because my reading palate is well and truly cleansed.
I really enjoyed the chemistry and sexual tension between Rhys and Lucy, and I thought they complemented each other well. Their banter kept me invested, and I found myself rooting for them from quite early on.
That said, there were a few things that pulled me out of the story. Some parts felt quite rushed, particularly when the pacing suddenly picked up, and it made certain moments feel less impactful than they could have been.
Another thing that I struggled with was Lucy constantly referring to herself as “fat” throughout the first half of the book. Personally, I really dislike the word being used to describe someone, so seeing it repeated so often made it difficult for me to connect with those sections. I understand it was likely intended to reflect her own insecurities, but it became distracting for me.
Overall, though, I enjoyed the story, the romance kept me hooked, and I’m glad I gave it a chance.
Thank you so much Lowri and LoveNotes for allowing me the opportunity to receive, read, and review an eARC copy of this book!
What to expect: 🚌 Forced Proximity 🎤 Workplace Romance 🔥 Slow Burn 💕 Rivals-to-Lovers ⛅️ Grumpy x Sunshine
This book did not ruin the tour! Rhys and Lucy started off on my nerve. The bickering? The tension? The slow burn and anticipation were well written. I loved that this wasn't just a romance, it felt like being thrown behind the scenes of a huge music tour and all the madness that comes with it. I loved how real the characters were; they were messy, funny, and easy to root for. And can we talk about the rep? Plus-sized MCs and a diverse cast were great to see! And just when I thought I knew where the story was going, BOOM, plot twist! If you love: behind-the-scenes music industry vibes, grumpy x sunshine energy, slow-burn romance, suspense and banter, add this to your TBR!
This was a fun one, it was nice to read a romance in the celebrity world that was between two people behind the scenes.
I really liked our main characters and their romance together. It was really cute, I enjoyed the tension and they felt like real people which made it more authentic to me.
I did think Rhys was a little abrasive in the beginning for no reason and although it created more tension, I thought it went on a little too long.
I loved the suspense/mystery part of the storyline, it was so fun and I was really surprised at the twist. It added an extra element to the story which I thought was interesting.
All in all I thought this was really fun, it was engaging and I really liked all the side characters. I just thought it was a little repetitive in places and a bit long for me.
Thank you to the author and LoveNotes PR for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review 🩷
Lucy loses her job working as Topaz's personal assistant. Cai’s ex. And she ends up switching sides to work for to far better star Cai. The only problem is now Lucy will also be working with the grumpy bodyguard Rhys.
This was such a fun story. Lucy is the organizes type who has everything planned. Rhys is a grumpy golden retriever for Lucy. Cai is such a sweetie!
Every character added something special to this story. I loved watching them all come to life. Hopefully more books digging into each character will be on the horizon.
If more musicians were like him, the world would be much better. I honestly adore how much of a caring friend he is in the story. And even though he's the talent, he goes above and beyond to make people feel special.
One of my favorite things was how relatable everyone was. And I love seeing both main characters represented as curvy. It made me love this story even more.
First I want to thank Lowri Charles and LoveNotesPR for the opportunity to read this story.
This is Going to Ruin the Tour follows Lucy and Rhys. Lucy is the world's biggest pop star’s personal assistant. She is plus sized (LOVE the representation!) She is beautiful and confident within herself. This tends to rub people the wrong way. Insert our MMC Rhys. He is the best friend of the pop star and personal bodyguard. He is broody and grumpy. Lucy and Rhys are the definition of enemies to lovers. Absolutely loved their chemistry and banter. There is a suspense aspect to this story as well since the pop star is being stalked by someone and Lucy and Rhys try to discover their identity.
Overall this story was great, and it will be one of my go to book recommendations!
This is an absolute gem of a book! It will make you feel all kinds of emotions and is full of witty and romantic banter! Lowri and I have had some great discussions when I’ve been reading it, mainly centring around the MMC Rhys-the body guard! This is a sign of a great writer…making you hate someone and then changing your opinion of them over the flow of the book! The character development and depth of Rhys is fantastic and his relationship with Lucy is just so cute! I really want to see more of Cai- his character is just so lovable! The cameo of my two favourite gay dads was such a cute little addition and made me smile when reading it! The writing style is so easy to read as it is first person dual POV- my favourite! Overall a lovely read!
Okay but this book is so good I stayed up waaaay past my bedtime to finish it. Lowri is such a brilliant author!! This book has humor, chemistry, romance, steam, suspense. Honestly? It has it all 😍😍😍
Fun quotes out of context: 🎶 Cakes always fix bad moods and if everyone's chewing, nobody's arguing. ⭐ Hundreds of mobile phones make it look like someone has emptied a bag of stars into the hall. Even Rhys sucks in a sharp breath. It's beautiful. 🎶 "Do you want to break a couple of rules with me, Luce?" I don't look away from her mouth.
Tropes include: 🎶 Grumpy x Sunshine ✨ Workplace romance 💕 Dislike to lovers 🎶 Bi MMC x demi sexual FMC ✨ Bodyguard x PA 💕 Set in Cardiff, Wales 🎶 Welsh characters ✨ Slow burn 💕 Fat FMC and MMC
I’m not going to lie. I really, really, really struggled with Rhys, and I did not root for him until late in the story. I liked the premise of this, but, I mean, if I can’t like the MMC, it’s very hard for me to like or want the HEA. But then… a gradual change. He turned from azz to secret boyfriend, and then it was tension of a different variety. Who would expose them in their secret relationship?
A couple of plots tied together. A secret relationship, a tour and a creeoy stalker. At times, it flt a little liek it was going in circles, but I liked the group dynamics. Plenty to keep me amused, just perhaps a little drawn out in the middle and then a bit rushed at the end.
A welsh baddie & plus size FMC 😍the chemistry was off the charts it was true enemies to lovers but written in such a delicious way I devoured this book, from the start I was intrigued on how the plot setting was going to go with the music background and welsh representation I was really intrigued to see how I would like this book. Let me tell you I loved it, it was fun easy going read that had me kicking my feet at parts, swooning over the mmc with his protectiveness but also racking my brains over the mystery part of the plot. Truly was a good time and I can’t wait for people to read. Thankyou for the arc copy will definitely be reading more of the authors books
I wanted to love this one, but it ended up being more of a slow burn than I’d hoped for. That said, I appreciated the fresh angle on the rock star bodyguard romance trope pairing the bodyguard with the PA Lucy instead of the star which gave it a different dynamic, and watching Rys slowly let his guard down to let her in was a highlight.
The book leans heavily into plot, with the romance taking a backseat for much of the story. There’s a solid twist near the end that I enjoyed, but overall I found myself wanting more particularly an epilogue to round things out and give the couple a proper send-off.
I fell so deeply in love with Ryhs and Luce' lovestory ♡ I never read a book with Welsh being included in the characters personality/daily life ; neither did I ever read a lovestory between a pop star's head of security & his PA ! Cai and Bethan were lovely secondlead characters and overall the dynamics between every single character really felt like a fantastic and believable found family ✨️ The last 30% of the books were thrilling and a plottwist I did NOT see coming 🤔🙌
This book has lots of positives. The MCs are both fun and the banter is top notch. The supporting characters are weird and wonderful as well. It starts with animosity between Rhys and Lucy, very sunshine v grumpy. But they fall for each other. Honestly my biggest issue was the middle. Everything was going so well that I was not sure what was going to sustain the story for the rest of the book. There is a plot twist at the end that livens it up. Though it is a bit jarring. Overall a solidly fun read. I will keep an eye out for where the author goes next. I read an ARC.
to start with it was super cosy and then plot twist something happened I’d have never guessed was coming, which I liked but then the book ended not long after, and good books coming to an end is sad.
I love love love the dual pov, and love even more how the characters are represented and described, it created a nice lil picture in my head.
Also loved how there’s bits of Welsh in there, prior to this the only work I knew was Araf, which means Slow and is plastered all over the Welsh roads.
