When it rains, it pours for Courtney, who has lost her job and apartment on the same day. Lucky for her, Anna, one of her best friends from college, has a job assignment in London. This works for both of them because Anna would like to have a cat sitter for her princess, Lady Montague. Then there is the handsome roommate, Wyatt, who seems a little challenging at the beginning. Courtney is taking the time to figure out how to move forward with her PhD program and how to continue helping her younger sister, who is a single mom. As the story progresses, Courtney and Wyatt start to move beyond roommates due to their hot attraction for each other. At the same time, Court is having issues deciding her future career prospects and how to handle her sister, whom she has been helping ot support. Even though I enjoyed parts of the story, I found Courtney hard to relate to with her indecision about her future and how she deals with her sister, especially since her studies should help her handle it better. Poor Court, she can’t seem to catch a break for nothing. Losing her job, her apartment getting condemned…even staying with her friend, she’s stuck with a grouchy cat and an even grouchier roommate. Wyatt one what he wanted in life though, and he was adamant about the direction he was heading in. Court could use a bit of that in life. I loved that these two went back and forth between one another, their banter was great. And it was so much fun seeing them start to connect slowly. That spice when they finally fit together…sweet! This was a really fun and spicy story. And I loved seeing Court and Wyatt fall for one another.
Court just got fired from a job she hated and her apartment got flooded. Now, she is staying at her best friend’s place, babysitting an unfriendly cat and dealing with a grouchy roommate.
Wyatt is uptight lawyer who works hard towards a big promotion at work and now he needs to deal with the chaotic best friend if his roommate.
The chemistry is undeniable, the connection is deep but would Court finally let herself have everything she ever wanted?
