Did Not Finish
June 17, 2026had to dnf this one at 55%. the story has so much potential to be good but i cannot get past all of the filler words and phrases. every time someone said anything it was ‘he says, he replies’ ‘i replied, such and such’ i feel like it’s holding my hand through every movement anyone makes and i don’t like that about a book and i am not interested enough in how it ends to put up with it.

Did not finish at 33%. Felt like reading something from ChatGPT. Then I read the other reviews and I see I’m not the only one who thought so.

Entirely written by AI, or at least severely influenced by AI.
All the hallmarks are there and it is obvious and jarring as you read. Examples of AI generated prose repeated ad nauseam in the book include:
1. “Not X. Not Y. Z.”
2. Weirdly vague similes EVERYWHERE. Example: “something sweet handed to her like kindness.”
3. Lists of words or sentence fragments that give a general vibe but no real information.
4. “The kind of X that doesn’t Y.”
5. Use of the word “almost” to describe feelings when it isn’t necessary or natural to use it. Example: “she exhales, almost irritated with herself.”
6. Mistakes in punctuation or formatting where the “author” didn’t carefully proofread the AI output or insert/delete spaces properly when copying over the AI text.
7. Mistaken identities (“Harold” is somehow a woman when the MC enters his/her hospital room?).
8. Very specific early morning time mentioned (2:17 a.m.) at one point. It’s been found that if you ask AI to generate a “random” time in the early morning it’ll mostly give the same response, almost always ending in 47 or 17.
Just way too many of these things are present for this to be normal writing by a human. Could not finish due to poorly transcribed AI writing.
With more editing the idea could be refined into something less bland and more intelligible.

The short chapters kept me turning the pages and while the plot was originally very intriguing - it ended up falling extremely flat for me. You have to be kidding me with the plot twist of Colton being the swollen guy in the psych bed 😂😂😂 get out of here

Okay this gave me everything I was looking for in a psychological thriller. It had suspense, mystery, who done it, and a little bit of romance. Which I’m usually not really into, but it worked for me in this one!

This was a good, fast read book for me. A psychological thriller with a touch of romance. One of the main characters Rachel, was a tad annoying.. but I got past that. Was it a "couldn't put down-page turner"? No, but it did keep me interested.

For a thriller girlie, this book had everything : suspense, shocking twists, a true page-turner plot, and even a satisfying happy ending. I really loved the character development, and the story kept me intrigued from beginning to end. There was never a dull moment, and I couldn’t put it down. This was my first book by this author, and it definitely won’t be my last!

What in the AI 🥲🥴.
This was actually a really good story idea, hence the stars. But it so obviously had AI fingerprints ALL OVER IT. I only finished it because I really wanted to know what happened, gotta love thrillers 😅.
In some sections, I felt like I was reading word for word something chat gtp would generate.

Very good book, kept me on my toes the entire time. Sabrina writes very well, you think you have it figured out but you don’t and the book has a few unexpected moments.

Disappointed. I'm sorry, but romance and thrillers DO NOT MIX. And over a third of this book was mushiness and eye batting. Ruined the mood for the thriller. The plot was good though. It had potential..

This book took some time but was worth the slower reading. A lot of details in the book that help solve the murders were laid out at different points in the novel. The characters all play a significant role and the plot wraps up quite well with a lot of details the reader would want to know. I appreciated the story having finality to it and not just a rushed finish.

3.5 - it was fine, but honestly nothing special. Some parts felt like they dragged on, the twists didn’t really feel like “big twists” to me.
The “plot twist” kind of felt forced? Like someone wanted to make it seem complex and “hidden” but during the “reveal” I just felt more like “…meh” called parts of it, pointed out things out loud that ended up in the reveal later…
The romance also felt a bit inauthentic and “forced” as well in my opinion. Kind of felt like a non-necessary addition.

This book is getting 5 stars from me because it was the perfect little thriller that kept me flipping through the pages - always guessing (incorrectly) on the next twist lol. Loved it!

i was entertained, i’ll give it that! the story started off interesting, and then it got kind of dull and repetitive. the ending was partially predictable, but at the same time parts of it were kind of just thrown in it felt like to me. there was a pretty prominent romance too that bothered me for some reason. after i finished, i was thinking back and i have come to the conclusion that the premise of the patient tapes was stupid and just there for the initial draw in.
i recommend overall, but it wasn’t my favorite mystery/thriller ever by any means.

I really enjoyed Patient 7 by Sabrina Wade. The storyline was intricate and unpredictable, which kept me engaged throughout the book. I liked how all the different pieces came together in the end without feeling obvious or rushed.
One of my favourite aspects was the way psychiatry was incorporated into the thriller. Rachel’s interactions with Percy were especially interesting, particularly when she played into his delusions of grandeur after he claimed he could predict the future.
I also enjoyed Erin’s character development. My opinion of her changed several times throughout the book, which made her a really interesting character. At first, I disliked her when it seemed like Colton was cheating on Rachel with her, then felt sorry for her when she went missing. After she kidnapped Alton and Rachel, I disliked her again, but by the end, learning that her actions were motivated by seeking justice for Drew and escaping her father’s abuse made me see her in a completely different light. I liked how the author continually challenged my assumptions about her character.
I appreciated that the story wasn’t just focused on the crime and thriller elements. Rachel’s personal journey, including her ability to move on from her divorce and find happiness with Archer, added a feel-good element that balanced the darker parts of the story.
Overall, this was an engaging psychological thriller with strong characters, plenty of suspense, and a satisfying ending.

Patient 7, by Sabrina Wade, is scheduled for release on April 22nd. Patient 7 was my first read by this author, and she didn't disappoint. This was a fast-paced psychological thriller that made me question everything I thought I knew. I would highly recommend d adding
