A psychiatric patient who predicts murders—down to the details.
Dr. Rachel Hadley has barely absorbed the shock of her ex-husband, psychiatrist Dr. Colton Hadley, vanishing when County Detective Lane Archer uncovers something Colton left a set of taped interviews no one was supposed to find.
On them is a voice labeled Patient 7—a patient Colton should never have been treating.
Calm. Precise. And describing four murders before they happen.
Locations. Timing. The victims.
Even more chilling, Patient 7 has had no contact with the outside world in over six months.
As Rachel and Detective Archer race to uncover who Patient 7 really is, the first predicted murder comes true.
And then the next.
Now, with each clue dragging them deeper into a deadly pattern, Detective Archer must identify the next victim before the killer strikes again—while Rachel begins to fear that Colton’s disappearance was never the beginning of this nightmare.
It was part of the plan.
Because if Patient 7 knows how this ends, the final murder may not just explain why Colton vanished.
Y’all, this is a chilling psychological thriller that pulled me in from the start.
The story follows Dr. Rachel Hadley as she searches for answers after her ex-husband disappears—only to discover secret tapes of a mysterious “Patient 7” predicting murders before they happen. Even more unsettling? The predictions start coming true.
The writing is sharp and easy to follow, with a fast pace that keeps the tension high. The characters feel real, especially Rachel, and Patient 7 is calm, eerie, and unforgettable.
Overall, this is a twisty, suspense-filled read that keeps you guessing and is definitely worth picking up if you love psychological thrillers.
Patient 7, by Sabrina Wade, is scheduled for release on April 22nd. Patient 7 was my first read by this author, and she didn't disappoint. This was a fast-paced psychological thriller that made me question everything I thought I knew. I would highly recommend d adding Patient 7 to your tbr! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
Sabrina Wade's "PATIENT 7" is a gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist. The characters are well-developed with intricate world-building. The narrative is rich with numerous plot twists and is filled with drama, emotional depth, betrayal, and a sufficient amount of suspense to keep readers eagerly turning the pages. This is my sixth book by Ms. Wade, and I must say, her writing is really growing on me.
The story's about Dr. Rachel Hadley, whose ex-husband, also a psychiatrist, has vanished. When the police start investigating, Rachel goes from being a person of interest to a professional consultant. With Rachel's help, Detective Archer tries to figure out who "Patient 7" is by listening to patient interview tapes he found. They need to identify this mysterious patient and determine if they're delusional or actually predicting murders that need to be prevented. Things get way more serious after someone tries to kill Rachel.
This story immediately grabbed me and kept me hooked. The author's careful attention to detail makes you feel like you're right there. It's one of the best physiological police procedural novels I've read.
I was provided with this book by the author, and this review reflects my genuine assessment.
Patient 7 by Sabrina Wade is a masterfully crafted mystery that weaves multiple layers of intrigue into a high-stakes, character-driven thriller. The story begins with a deceptively simple hook—Dr. Rachel Hadley’s ex-husband, Colton, has gone missing—but it quickly spirals into a complex web with deep connections to the past. What makes this book stand out is how it balances multiple mysteries simultaneously; it is incredibly satisfying to see how every thread eventually pulls together into a cohesive, shocking whole. The pacing is effortless, keeping you hooked from the first page to the last.
The heart of the story lies with the main characters, Rachel and County Detective Lane Archer. They are grounded, likeable, and share a chemistry that feels both real and earned. Watching them navigate the investigation is fascinating, as the plot is full of unpredictable turns and perfectly timed twists. Beyond the mystery, the book offers a poignant look at how different people process trauma in vastly different ways. This is an absolute 5-star read for anyone who craves a smart mystery with meaningful depth.
This is a great read and definitely highly rated worthy of 5 stars or now if possible
Dr Rachel Hadley ex left her and she getting on with life when his new partner turns up and he's going missing again only this doesn't seem is him running away like the time he left Rachel. She steps in to help with his patients and life gets interesting. The police need her help to understand his patients and one in particular never guess who. Well we will call them Patient 7 to start with as it's unsure who they are but they have intriguing info that needs checking.
As I say this is a great read and Sabrina is an exceptional story teller, this is another wonderful example of this fact. She creates great and intriguing characters that's have their niches to drive a nail bitting and dramatic adventure.
I obviously highly recommend this as you can tell from my previous comments and hope you love it as much as I did.
Wow! This book is an edge of your seat read that keeps you totally turning pages without being able to put it down. Begins when Dr. Rachel's Hadley’s ex-husband, Colton, is missing. Rachel is asked to get involved by County Detective Lane Archer since she might know about Dr. Colton's patients. When special recordings are found of Patient 7 who Colton was not supposed to be treating. The recordings are scary when Patient 7 describes murders and they happen exactly how they were described. Who is Patient 7 and how does he know about these murders. Rachel and Lane dig deep to figure it all out. Once you begin this book, it is impossible to stop reading. I highly recommend this book if you like page a turning psychological mystery, this book is it. I highly recommend all Sabrina Wades work. She writes fantastic psychological books. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Another great book by Sabrina Wade! It was good right from the beginning. Lots of good characters and twists. Also some good scenes where characters are happy.
A divorced psychiatrist’s ex hub goes missing. One of the inpatients at a hospital he was seeing (patient 7) spoke abt 4 murders he had seen as abt to happen. 3 of those people have been found. How can he know abt them ahead of time and he and his brother are both locked in this institution so they aren’t killing these people. Who is telling him details? And now the police have the 4th intended victim in protective custody so he wont be able to be killed. What does that do to patient 7- his prediction not coming true. Will he know? Will someone tell him? And where is the missing psychiatrist? What’s his role in all this? Bom bom bom!!!!!!

This was a fantastic read. The author runs the gamut of human emotion and frailties throughout the book. Dr. Rachel Hadley is a psychiatrist that has her own practice. Her ex-husband's wife comes to her office in tears as he has gone missing. She tells her to go to the police, which starts a hunt for him. He is also a psychiatrist that practices at the local mental hospital. She agrees to take over his patients until he can be found. When the police find tapes that were hidden in his office, she is asked to review the tapes. When she reviews them, she finds that he has been seeing a patient he calls patient 7, even though he only has six patients. They must find patient 7 because he may be the link to the missing psychiatrist.
If you are into tense psychological thrillers this book is for you.
We have a psychiatrist, who is divorced and her ex works at a state facility that is privately funded. He goes missing and she is "suspected" at first then helps the police find him.
In all of these there is a patient, who is patient 7, and not the doctors official patient - who "predicts four deaths".
It is a race against time to save the fourth patient, find out who is killing everyone - and to save the ex.
Edge of your seat, found family, found love, the doctor she is a good woman who helps the "perps" at the end. And I can see why they did what they did -a sad story ultimately.
This book starts out with a man being kidnapped. Then things get more intense when they involve his ex wife. Dr, Rachel Hadley is a psychiatrist and so was her ex Colton. Rachel is working closely with the police to find him and figure out who is Patient 7. Something good happened out of this, Rachel meets Detective Lane Archer. When things come together it gets even more interesting and more action packed. I really liked the way the author ended the story. I would recommend reading this book. I was brought into the story from the beginning and kept turning the pages until the end.

I really, really loved this! The plot was enticing, the story was thrilling. I loved the different twists and turns the mystery took. There was an underlying theme of romance there, which I enjoyed but I also liked that it didn't take over the story, not overpowering the crime and thrill of it at all. The ending was just perfect, with a wonderful amount of closure on all front, no questions left answered. This was just a really good book, would definitely recommend!!.

Patient 7: A gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist, my sixth read from author Sabrina Wade. A 390-page crime thriller. If you like N.L. Hinkens & James Caine you'll like Sabrina Wade. "I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with The Woods Know Everything: A Thriller already on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Sabrina Wade delivers another standout read that easily pulls you in from the start. The multiple points of view add depth and dimension, giving you a fuller understanding of the characters and their motivations. Around the halfway mark, the pace really picks up and the story becomes impossible to put down—I found myself completely hooked and needing to know how it would all unfold. It’s the kind of book that stays with you even after you’ve turned the last page. Definitely recommend!
This was a mind blowing story. Psychological perfection. Thrilling, suspenseful, just truly amazing. The depth of this far exceeds any other thriller I’ve ever read. The tension that builds in your body and mind leave you gripping your iPad. I was so captivated by this, there was no putting it down. I could’ve guessed at what and who and I would’ve been wrong every time. Phenomenal! This is a definite must read if you haven’t already.
I was hooked from the start. A psychiatric patient who can predict murders to the detail? Love it. Dr. Rachel Hadley’s psychiatrist ex-husband disappeared, and the police found notes about this patient, patient 7, describing the murders. As the murders start to come true, they have to work fast to figure this out? Who is the patient? How do they know these things? Where is Rachel’s ex-husband and what does he have to do with this? It’s a great psychological thriller.
An action-packed gripping story that is chilling and haunting. This is a book that you I read from cover to cover as I could not put it down. Well written, fascinating plot and great characters. I can easily recommend this book to others who love thrillers.
I read this book as part of an advance reader team. I am voluntarily writing this review.
This is my 3rd book by Sabrina Wade and she is the author who got me reading thrillers again. This book is so captivating. There is so much action and she is great with twists and this book was no exception to that. The characters are very well done and even though there is some romance in the book it is very much a backseat to everything else that is happening. I cannot wait for her next book!
Wow! This book was just as good as I had hoped it would. If you have read Sabrina's books before you know she puts you on a roller-coaster of emotions throughout the entire book! I was sucked in at the beginning and could not stop reading it untill it was over. Sabrina did it again! 👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you and again I can not wait for your next book!
Wow! This book kept me up all night reading! It's one of the best psychological thrillers I have read in a while. There are little hints all through the book and with a little luck, you'll notice and think "I better save that for later", because this book is complex and when it all comes together, you'll be like OHHHHHHHHHHH. Loved how this book was put together.
Patient 7 was a really good book! It had a couple of twists that I didn't see coming. Slow burn romance was nice! The story kept me guessing and what led everyone to where they were was great! I truly enjoyed reading this book and if you enjoy reading psychological thrillers, you won't be dissapointed!
