When it seriously comes to Regitse’s books, I know without a doubt that it’s going to be a good time. This one was short and sweet. Exactly what I was looking for. Im such a fan of omegaverse but mix in dragons, yes please!

When Ember gets sold by his family for them to have money, things definitely turn around for him. I loved the little bit of banter we get these two because Ember didn’t believe that this dragon was his fated mate.

Once he saw how in that River was for him, he finally turned his opinion the other way around, especially to how good he treated him.

A little drama happens where Ember does get injured but karma comes around. I really loved how at ease Ember slowly comes around and gets comfortable with everyone. I’m such a fan of a good found family and this one hit all the good spots.

I loved the best building scene because that was super cute.

If you’re looking for a book with all the good vibes, check this one out. I was hooked from the very first page all the way to the last. I cannot wait to see what’s next in this series.

Ember is a phoenix shifter that gets sold to a fae prince for breeding purposes and then almost immediately kidnapped by a dragon shifter because they’re fated mates. He has no agency and never consents to anything, it all just happens to him. Then his heat comes and in a total 180 he’s all about riding his dragon and being a mated omega. 👎🏻

The sex wasn’t that hot (virgin to completely penetrated in one stroke - ouch!), there was no tenderness, prep, or aftercare. It just wasn’t great.

The world building is really clunky too. Lots of telling and little info dumps. I won’t be reading this author again.

This is the first book in the Teovarian Dragons series, and I imagine future books will focus on River’s three dragon prince brothers finding their own fated mates. It’s also a book with a focus on the good moments in the story: the meet cute, the first heat, and the many, many times the happy couple goes off to enjoy one another. It’s doesn’t center much on the world building or plot, but for what it is, it’s a decent read.

This book is made of frosting. It’s sweet, if a little insubstantial, with interior artwork drawn by the artist themself. If you’re looking for an omegaverse with dragons, this might be something you’ll enjoy.

I enjoyed this one! Ember doesn’t want to be forced to bear children for the fae prince, but he doesn’t have a choice until his dragon prince fated mate decides to carry him away. River may have technically kidnapped Ember, but he is driven to prove to the omega Phoenix shifter that he is telling the truth about being fated mates. It’s a sweet story with a bit of spice and found family of River’s dragon family. Another thing I liked about it is River doesn’t expect Ember to have babies unless he wants to later. It was a refreshing change to many omegaverse stories where they immediately start popping out babies. I want to read more in this series!

This was a great start to a new series and also a very fun novella! I love the premise and how it all played out. This novella had the perfect amount of world building and relationship building. I loved Ember and River together, I also felt like a water dragon and a phoenix was a great pairing. I loved how devoted River was and how much he cherished Ember. Their relationship felt sweet and fun.
I'm really excited to see River's brothers find their own fated mates.

Ember’s Dragon by Regitse Lijadorff is the first book in her The Teovarian Dragons series. It is about an omega phoenix shifter who thinks he will have a horrible life after being sold to a fae prince to breed and the dragon alpha who knows he’s his fated mate and takes him back to his kingdom to begin a wonderful life together. Ember has grown up in a poor farming family with 7 children in a kingdom run by fae royalty. He is a rare phoenix shifter and was only tolerated by his family because of what he could bring to them. He had always hoped that he would find true love but that was crushed when his family sold him to the fae prince, who thought he was common, hated him, and was only going to use him for breeding. As he was awaiting his first heat he wandered into the garden where a dragon who was cloaked in shimmer found him. River was a dragon prince of Teovarian and was the third in line for the throne. He had 3 brothers, Ciris, Midos, and Reinos, and Ciris was the king. They were very close and were awaiting the time when they would feel the call of their fated once they were of age and they would fly to wherever he/she was at and bring him/her back to their kingdom. River had felt his call and when he found Ember in the garden, he sent out his pheromones to calm him and flew him back to his kingdom. Ember was somewhat feisty and was not happy about not understanding what was happening or giving his consent and thinks the dragon gave him something powerful and illegal so he runs away to the forest where he starts to feel ill and hears a dragon also in agony. They reunite and River tells him they are fated mates, but Ember doesn’t believe him because there was no such thing where he grew up and he thought they were a legend. But as they spent time together, he slowly began to trust and feel safe with River. When Ember’s heat arrives they have some very hot love scenes which end in a claiming bite. On a trip to the hot springs at the bottom of the castle something happens to Ember that is quite scary and River is upset that it happened because he left him alone, especially when he finds out why it occurred and then the king deals with it. They spend some days relaxing together and learning more about each other. Ember is thrilled to find out that omegas are considered equal in the kingdom and they go to school and are able to work at jobs they want. When they go out to dinner in town and he gets overwhelmed by the crowd, River finds him and his dragon takes over for another hot scene. The ceremony welcoming Ember into the royal family goes very well and when they shift and fly to the mountains, they say I love you and you know they are going to be very happy together. I enjoyed this story. Ms. Liljadorff has created a world of alpha and omega shifters with lots of details that I have not heard of before which makes it very interesting. Ember is feisty and has hopes and dreams that he soon realizes will not come true. But when River shows up and takes him back to his kingdom, he soon finds that he has found love and that his life will be all that he hoped it would be. It did take a while because everything was so different from what he was used to, but River was very protective and he soon felt safe and that he could trust him. Ember did have to test him a few times but it all worked out in the end, especially after they claimed each other and could feel their emotions. River’s brothers, some of the palace workers, Dusty who owns the tavern and is River’s oldest friend, and Ember’s family all play a big part in the story and most are thrilled that they have found love. I recommend this book, especially if you like stories about a lowly phoenix shifter who is sold for his body, a dragon prince who knows he is his fated mate, and how they get together, learn about each other, and fall in love.

Well, this was incredibly cute and exactly what I needed at that exact moment of time. It definitely gave my mood a good boost. 

I loved Ember and River together so much, and not only because a dragon shifter x phoenix shifter – both rare in the shifter world – as a couple seems so fitting. These two brought me a lot of joy.

Despite the omega’s initial (understandable) distrust and indignation, the alpha River manages to win feisty Ember’s heart remarkably quickly with his genuine devotion, and he totally won mine over too. He only wants to love and care for Ember and is so considerate and kind to the omega’s needs, including being so respectful and supportive with his decisions, which only made me love him even more! His excitement about finding his fated mate is so adorable, and how proud he is of Ember… Urgh, so lush! I was mooning over that gorgeous alpha!

Seeing Ember getting more comfortable with his alpha and feeling safe, content and excited about his future made my heart so happy. I adored their flirty, teasing banter. And I’ll admit I didn’t mind seeing Ember become a demanding, greedy little thing in the best way during spicy times.

I loved how warmly River’s brothers welcomed Ember into the family too, and adored River’s friend, Dusty. I’d be more than happy to see more of him in future books.

I’m always so impressed with the world building in Regitse’s books, and this is one of my faves of those I’ve read so far. I loved how the dragons’ kingdom is so much fairer and more inclusive to omegas than where Ember grew up. 

I am a massive sucker for dragon shifter romances, especially those with fated mates, and I’m already hooked on this family of royal shifters, so I can’t wait to see what’s to come from this series. I’m particularly excited for Ciris’s story; I’m intrigued to see who the King’ll be paired with.

If you love low angst OV fantasy novellas with shifters and spice, including a heat and breeding with no mpreg, with a protective, sweet alpha and a gutsy little omega, you should definitely read this one!

This was a cute fated mates story once you got past the beginning with Ember being sold off by his family to a fae prince for breeding, poor thing. Like with many omegaverse stories, there can be a level of lost agency where mates are concerned and Ember goes through this twice over here.

River and his brothers have been waiting patiently for their fated mates to become of age, subsequently close to their first heats, and for their dragon to take them on the journey to their mates. River is the first to get the calling to go find his fated. He finds Ember in a garden at a palace and is so excited to start his life with his mate, so he snatches him up and flies him home to their far away kingdom. Once they are in Rivers kingdom, Ember is confused and slightly annoyed at how connected to the stranger he already is (rightfully of course). Ember has no idea that fated mates are real, so basically he is sold and then kidnapped and reeling from how to respond to everything that happened. Ember's heat is fast approaching and some decisions need to be made quickly.

These two bond, experience the heat/rut together, and start their new lives together. I'm intrigued on the how the other brother's stories will play out after getting glimpses of them in this book. I will say the amount of times throughout this story I kept screaming to "STOP LEAVING EMBER ALONE BY HIMSELF" was too high! Geesh, every single time River left his mate something bad happened to him which was incredibly frustrating. I yelled it the most when Ember was badly hurt, and had to take a minute before I continued to read.

When omega Phoenix shifter Ember was sold by his family to the fae prince of his homeland for breeding, he resented it but was helpless to stop it. Spending time in the garden while waiting for his heat, Ember was suddenly taken by alpha River, a dragon shifter from another land, here to claim Ember as his fated mate. Not really believing in fated mates, Ember finds River is devoted to him, promising to protect him and keep him safe, a situation much better than with the fae prince, and at least Ember is attracted to River. Once River’s rut and Ember’s heat hit, the mating is completed and Ember is more satisfied with this new situation and his new life, falling in love with River and ready to fulfill his role as the first Taov (fated mate of a prince) in centuries in this land. Relatively low angst, medium heat, with one concerning event, but overall a pleasant change of life for Ember. Luckily, he and River will have a looooong time to get used to each other —400 years—until any chance of children is in their future.

The requirement for an alpha dragon to be at least 600 years old before siring a child was an interesting wrinkle in this book, one that seldom shows up in fated mate stories, and often does end up with a baby on the way. There is no indication how long Ember’s life span would usually be, or if being mated to a long-lived dragon extends the life expectancy of the fated mate, but in the story River is 200 years old and Ember is twenty. Age gap much?? The average lifespan of a dragon was also not mentioned. Another interesting wrinkle was the fact that the alphas can sense their fated mates as they near their heat, no matter where they are in the “world”, but apparently a fated mate is not guaranteed (as best I could tell). Since this is book 1 in a new series, I expect there will be 3 others, one for each of River’s alpha brothers to find their fated mates and bring them home. It will be interesting to see which brother is next, where his omega is found, and what type of shifter it will be for the dragon king and his 2 remaining prince brothers.

Regitse has officially become one of those authors where I don't even need to read the synopsis anymore—I already know I'm going to have a great time. This was such a fun, cozy read and exactly what I was in the mood for. Omegaverse with dragon and phoenix shifters? Immediate yes.

I absolutely adored Ember and River. Ember's hesitation and distrust made so much sense considering everything he'd been through, which made it even more rewarding to watch River slowly earn his trust instead of expecting it. River is the definition of a green-flag alpha. He's protective, patient, completely devoted, and never once makes Ember feel like he owes him anything. Their relationship develops so naturally, and I loved that River respected Ember's choices every step of the way. It was such a refreshing change from a lot of omegaverse romances.

Their chemistry was adorable from the start. The teasing banter had me smiling, the sweeter moments absolutely melted my heart, and the spice was just enough to balance everything out. Watching Ember slowly find a place where he felt safe, loved, and accepted was easily my favorite part of the story.

And don't even get me started on the found family. River's family welcomed Ember with open arms, and those moments honestly gave me all the warm, cozy feelings. I'm such a sucker for found family dynamics, and this one delivered. I also really enjoyed the world-building. Even though it's a novella, the dragon kingdom felt vivid and interesting, and now I want to spend even more time in this world.

If you're looking for a low-angst fantasy romance with fated mates, dragon shifters, a protective golden-retriever alpha, a feisty phoenix omega, found family, and just the right amount of spice, definitely add this one to your TBR. It was sweet, comforting, and completely bingeable—and now I'm already impatiently waiting for the next book in the series.

Oh this one was hot! Regitse fed us so good with this one🥵

This story wasn’t the typical fluffy and sweet story we’re used to from Regitse. This one was a little heavier on the abuse omegas go through because of their designation, especially from their family.

Ember never mattered to his family unless it was it was something they could benefit from and that came in the form of being sold to the highest bidder. A mean crown prince alpha that would only see him as a walking womb and nothing else.

As a phoenix, Ember had a certain appeal that made him valuable. A value that his parents didn’t hesitate to cash in if it gave them a better life. Not caring in the slightest whether it hurt Ember or not.

As an omega, Ember had no say in what happened to him. He was supposed to do what he was told whether he wanted to or not. So when he’s sold to the crown prince, Ember must obey the prince’s orders.

Except he was taken from the palace by a complete stranger before the crown prince had a chance to order him around. Funnily enough, Ember’s never felt safer than he did with this stranger. He doesn’t know why he was taken but he’s not afraid.

River was a water dragon who had been waiting for a mate for hundreds of years. When he spots Ember in the palace, he doesn’t hesitate to take him away. Ember is his mate and he belongs with River.

Finding out that he’s mated to a dragon prince was a surprise to Ember. Especially one that was so sweet and kind and only wanted Ember’s well being.

At first, Ember was worried that the man who took him would be as mean as the one he was sold to. But soon he realized that River would never hurt him or treat him like property. He just wanted to take care of him and make him happy.

River wanting to raise hell when Ember got hurt was that sweetest thing ever. Ember finally had someone who would burn the world down for him and he deserved it. It was about time someone loved him the way he deserved to be loved.

This story is about Ember, who is an omega phoenix shifter who has gone through so much. He came from a family of 7 kids. The family didn't have much money, so he was sold to a Fae crown prince who is not a nice man. He hates Ember from the start. He plans to only use him as a breeder. I wanted to give Ember a great big hug at this point. As he feels his life is going to be this way, he walks into the garden and is shown a dragon prince who realizes he is his mate. River is the dragon shifter. He is cloaked in the garden because he felt drawn to that area. He finds out why when Ember walks out into the garden. Ember at first isn't sure why River would be any different than the fae prince who just wants him as a breeder only. Ember is whisked out of the garden to a kingdom big and distant from where he was. Ember fears River because he hasn't known much about fated mates, for one, and the other dragons are a myth; they can't be true, can they? Fear causes him to take off, and as he gets farther away, he starts to feel sick. River comes from a family of three other brothers. River is third in line to the throne. I loved the story of the extended family of River. Let's see if River can get Ember to believe that what they share is real. I have to say this is a new author for me, and they pulled me in. I love a good shifter story, and this one filled that. I can't wait for the next one in this series.

Did I pick up this book because of the pretty cover art and the blurb? I clearly did and I’m overjoyed I was drawn to Ember’s Dragon! 🥰

This book has everything I could wish for in a novella : MM omegaverse, biting/marking, shifters, fated mates, healing after a bad upbringing and swoon worthy protagonists. Oh and not to forget our Omega MMC is a cute ginger. 🥹

I was immediately protective over Ember and captivated. The story is pretty fast paced and straight to the point so it felt really rewarding to me.
Ember has only ever been told omegas were worthless, or only good for certain things. So when his parents announced he had been sold for breeding purposes, his world shattered.
A few days later, a dragon suddenly appears and steals him to take him to his own kingdom right before his heat. River, that is the lucky alpha dragon’s name.

I adored Ember and River as individuals but also as a pairing! They compliment eachother so well. River sees Ember as more than just an omega, more than just a womb, which Ember has never experienced. River is so loving and protective and he allows Ember to become his real self without having to fear for his security. And boy does Ember shine!!! He is such a talented tease. 😮‍💨 The intimate moments were delicious!!🔥
I also enjoyed how we got to see a bit of River’s brothers and hopefully we get to see more since I enjoyed their dynamic and their bond.

If you enjoy a fast rewarding read with characters who are perfect for eachother, please give Ember’s Dragon a chance!

I knew fully well when I picked this book up that one of the main themes was slavery. It's one of those themes that I cannot read for my own sanity, but this book also promised nesting and hurt/comfort and fluffiness, so I stayed.

I am glad I did. Thankfully slavery wasn't shown as much after all, the big bad dragon came to the rescue almost immediately!

I got the fluff I wanted but I also got so much filthy smut, if you're into that, this book is definitely for you, and it's a quick read too.

It was sooo fun to see an unlikely pair of shifter mates, it was my first time reading about a phoenix shifter and I honestly want more books with them.

The relationship was a bit fast paced and a lot smutty but I still had fun reading this book. I am really interested in learning more about River's brothers too though. I also felt like Ember should have gotten some sort of retribution (? I'm not sure if thats the right word🥲) from his family, like go to their house and showing off his dragon mate, but that might just be me.🥲


P.S.: All the dragon brothers reminded me a lot of The Dragonfate Games by Hawke Oakley, but the difference in the world building and author writing style was distinct.

EMBER'S DRAGON is the first novella in The Teovarian Dragons, and we begin with Ember being sold by his family to a fae prince who only wants him for his womb. Luckily for Ember, his fated mate, a water dragon by the name of River, is on his way. He knows his mate is out there and just needs to find him.

This is an easy read with plenty of s3x and getting to know each other. River's brothers are all intriguing, and I can't wait to read more about them. Being as it is a novella, it doesn't give you as much information as you might want. I know I definitely wanted more, but you still get enough to at least know the basics. Hopefully, as the series progresses, we will get a little more each time.

Although I can appreciate Ember taking the high road, there's still a part of me that wants some form of retribution against his family and their fae overlords for how they treated him personally and omegas as a whole. Apparently, I'm more vindictive than I thought!

A quick, great read that I definitely recommend.

This is the first book in her The Teovarian Dragons series. It is about Ember, an omega phoenix shifter and River, a dragon prince of Teovarian. Ember is a rare omega phoenix whose family has sold him to a fae prince who planned to use him for breeding. He grew up hoping for love but instead expected his life to a misery. River is third in line to the Teovarian throne. He has 3 brothers, Ciris, Midos, and Reinos, and Ciris was the king. Once the brothers were of age, they knew that they would feel the call of their fated mate. Without knowing, Ember sent out the call and River tracked him down and rescued him. At least River thought of it as rescue. He brought Ember back to his kingdom and Ember is not happy. He has never heard of fated mates growing up. He is frustrated with his lack of control of the situation. But slowly River learns to earn the trust and love of Ember. This is their story. I received a complementary advanced review copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review. I really enjoyed this book. I love found family and this book has lots of it. This is a sweet, low angst book. I look forward to the next book in this series.

"Ember's Dragon" starts a new series by Regitse Liljadorff, The Teovarian Dragons. Three dragon princes and their eldest brother, the king. This author write some of the lightest, floofiest, happy tales I've ever read. "Ember's" follows that storyline completely. Have I yet finished one of their books without a smile? I don't think so.
The meet cute is, welllll...... cute. Ember, a rare phoenix shifter, is sold to a fae prince who only wants an heir. River, third in line for the Teovarian throne, finds him on a mate quest. Kidnaps him from the bad fae's garden. They fly away, and mate. And mate. And mate. There is a sweet bubble bath scene during the getting to know you phase, and a scarier hot springs scene. We're a tad worldbuild-lite, but the author does give us a view of River's family bond.
There are a few unanswered plot lines. Ember is one of seven siblings in his shifter family, but he's the only phoenix. And would his family suffer after River kidnapped him?
Overall, a sweet tale. I can't wait til the brothers Teovarian find their mates. And yes, I finished with a smile.

I just finished this and immediately needed to yap about a dragon prince literally snatching a phoenix out of a garden and carrying him across the ocean because WHAT?! 😂🔥

Ember is this feisty, guarded little omega who has every reason to be suspicious of everyone around him, and watching River slowly earn his trust was everything. This giant dragon alpha went from chaotic rescue energy to the biggest green flag imaginable, and I was absolutely melting watching him turn into the gentlest, most respectful lover during heat and nesting.

The contrast between Ember’s fiery little attitude and River’s complete worship of him had me smiling nonstop. Add in the adorable found family moments with the dragon brothers, and this novella was just pure serotonin.

This is such a quick, low angst omegaverse escape with tons of heat, zero mpreg, and the perfect palate cleanser between heavier reads. If you love protective alphas, fated mates, and watching a grumpy little omega get absolutely adored, you need to pick this one up!

Ok, this book was cute AF in my personal opinion.

I've been in a reading slump for the last two weeks, nothing has caught my interest after finishing a particularly good series and this was the perfect palette cleanser.

Ember is a fiesta little pheonix, in all honesty he reminds my more of a tiny kitty swiping above its weight class. He knows what he wants and is smart enough to feel like happiness shouldn't come at the cost of survival.

River is a golden retriever in dragon form. All he wants is Ember to be happy with him and in life.

When these two meet there is instant attraction, a little hesitancy on Embers part because for all he knew fated mated were a myth, but we were pretty over it in 5 minutes.

Is this a book of angst and tension? Not at all. It is literal fluff and spice. There's a tablespoon of tension and worry, before our big bad River saves the day.

And of course there is a HEA.

Highly recommend for those who need something easy to digest.

For this reason, his parents sell him to the crown prince who wants him for breeding purposes. Ember is unhappy and wishes for an escape. His wish is granted when he visits the royal gardens and a dragon swopes down and grabs him. He carries him far away where the dragon, River, lives as a Teovarian Dragon Prince. Ember hopes that here he can find freedom from fear and disrespect.

Ember’s Dragon is the first in a new series. River is one of four alpha dragon brothers. It turns out dragons have fated mates and River knew his was out there. So, off he went and saved his mate from the fae crown prince. Ember wanted some freedom but thought maybe he traded one prison for another. It was fun to watch River show him how wrong that thought is. This is a wonderful start to a new series. Fated mates, dragons, a few problems and lots of loving – how can you go wrong!!

A wholesome, sweet omegaverse MM rlmance novella between a golden retriever water dragon alpha and a fiery phoenix omega shifter with a dubious kidnapping situation, with a happily ever after. This novella (around 120 pages) starts with an omega who is struggling to come to terms with his family selling him off to the highest bidder. He, of course, wants more. I really enjoyed this book, it was easy to read, there was a different approach to the omegaverse than I'm used too which had me excited to read more from this author! There was heats, ruts, breeding (but no MPreg), sweet moments, a time or two where I was on the edge of my seat! It was a fiercely gorgeous novella that was fast paced, lots of dragon alphas who are all looking for their fated mates, a found family, and a whole heap of love! I cannot wait for the next book in the series! And thank you for allowing me read and review your book early!

First in series (The Teovarian Dragons). Fantasy omegaverse. Fated mates. Hurt/comfort. Quick read. Dual POV.

After being sold to a fae prince, Ember is saved before his first heat by his fated mate who happens to be a dragon prince. And although River is immediately committed, Ember is not sure about another unwanted Alpha until the bond shows how devoted River really is.

This is sort of a straight forward Alpha/omega pairing, assuming love through the fated bond and complete with heats and possessive Alpha’s. Ember does have bursts of a fiery disposition but also welcomes River’s attentiveness. I liked the fated mate aspect, the steamy parts, and the introduction of the Teovarian brothers as possible future MC’s. The conflicts didn’t seem super meaningful in moving their relationship forward but maybe informed about the world of the Teovarian realm. A nice start to a new series with dragons and other shifters.

This is book 1 in a new series by Regitse Liljadorff called The Teovarian Dragons. I'm assuming this is going to be a 4 book series since there are four dragon brothers needing to find their fated mates. I'm anxious to see if Reinos book is next because he seems like the likely suspect.

This is only the third book I've read by this author and when I saw it I knew I wanted to read it since I loved the other 2 books. This author has the ability to write such fun and interesting stories that I have trouble putting down.

Im exchange of an honest review I got to read the ARC version of Ember's Dragon by Regitse Liljadorff by the author.

Becuse this book is such a short story Im not going to talk that much about the story other than i wish it was longer becuse i would love more!

Ember is an omega that got seven siblings some omega some alpha and one day he gets sold to the prince as a perfect omega to breed since Ember is an Phoenix shifter something that does make him special but when he gets kidnapped by an Dragon that claim to be his fated mate everything changes.

It's a cute little story about omegas of many diffrent sorts and about dragons on the look for their mates! If you like dragons or omegaverse then this is the book for you!

Ember didn’t have a wonderful life, his parents and siblings aren’t the nicest people. Ember is a special shifter.
His parents sold him to the fae crown prince. One awful place replaced by another awful one.
One day someone plucked him from the garden and flew him away.

River is a prince and happy to meet his fated mate. He found him in a different world and took him with him.
Of course, Ember was confused, but man he had a beautiful dragon mate.

It’s a wonderful short story, but there’s enough to enjoy that it felt much longer.
River’s world is so much better, his family and citizens so much nicer, except one. Read for yourself what happened.
I loved this narrative; the author always gives a kind spin to the stories, with lovely characters, some spicy moments, and a hea.

I just gaped at him. “Um, you kidnapped me and forced me here, and you’re surprised I tried to escape?”
He blinked. “But you’re my fated mate. I didn’t take you for nefarious reasons, I took you so I could love and protect you, as my mate.”

I loved this book. It was such a sweet hurt/comfort romance that also touches on the unfair treatment and abuse of omegas who are valued only for their wombs, as well as the differences between the poor and rich classes. Good world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Ember and River. My heart ached for how Ember was treated or perceived by nearly everyone before River kidnapped him. River was rally sweet and I liked his personality from the start. It was easy for me to get hooked to this story and invested in these two. A great start to a new series. 5 stars

Another entertaining read from Regitse Liljadorff!

Ember’s Dragon is a novella with a fairytale feel to it, where Ember, a rare phoenix shifter and omega, gets sold by his evil parents to an eviler fae crown prince for breeding purposes. He is not at the palace for long, though, because his dragon shifter fated mate finds him just days before his first heat kicks in, and Ember gets transported to another kingdom, where his mate is one of the princes.

Perfect for fans of alpha/omega stories with heats and rutting, with hurt/comfort, magical kingdoms and happily ever afters. I read this story in a single day, and I’m excited for future stories where we, hopefully, get to know River’s brothers, the other dragon shifter princes and the king himself, and their mates!

I loved this story. Ember broke my heart when he was with his family. I get that we only see and understand our own POV, so when he was shocked at his sisters view of being a womb for the prince and living luxiously, while she did what she had to to guarentee survival, I think opened his eyes a little.
River stealing Ember from the Prince's gardens, was a sly move, one ao doubr tje guards saw coming. I was left wondering what happened between the prince and Embers family. I did hope there was some love between him and some of his omega siblings. So he looked to secure their future.
Honestly, the fact that River spoiled and treated Ember like an equal or something precious was more than Ember could even hope for, he couldnt understand the difference in their lives.

This omegavese was unique. I liked that in certain kingdoms they could be free, and didn't like in others they were basically slaves. River came at the exact right time to help Ember. Even a few more days and he might have lost him. But fate always wins.
There was an issue with consent besides the dragonnappnig. But that is resolved quickly since we can see both MCs' POVs.
I would have liked to see what happened to the Hae prince and River's family, but like River said, it doesn't matter.
If you are looking for a low angst, med heat quick story, this might be your book.
