Redemption Road is book two in the Hells Raiders MC series by Katie Ashley. This time we have the middle Malloy brother, Nathaniel aka Reverend, and his romance with Annabel Lee Percy. The biker and his uptown girl. An opposites attract story about two people who have each suffered a terrible trauma. They are unexpectedly brought together which results in them healing and saving each other. A romantic suspense about how something good can come out of something so bad.
I loved Rev in book one, he was a gentle giant who didn’t seem to fit into the MC life. He was so sweet and respectful plus a wonderful uncle to Willow. The prologue takes us back to his childhood and my heart broke for him when we learn about a shocking and horrific event that happened to him. It changed everything for him and his family so he has kept it a secret ever since that awful day.
Now he is the president of the Georgia Hells Raiders. The MC are celebrating his brother Deacon’s wedding to Alexandra when Rev receives a distressing call from the Raiders Dr Edgeway aka Breakneck. His daughter Sarah has been abducted from her Texas college by traffickers. Rev immediately leaves with Bishop, his younger brother, to help the El Paso Raiders rescue her. He knows getting Sarah back could lead to serious repercussions for his club but he’s got to try. The mission turns out to be more dangerous than Rev thought because she has been taken by a very dangerous MC with links to a drug cartel.
Annabel is in Texas studying to be a vet. She comes from a rich political family more concerned about their status than what she wants. She’s lived a very controlled life so when a bad boy biker flirts with her, she decides to rebel. This turns out to be the worse decision she has ever made. After suffering a terrible experience the nightmare continues when she is taken to Mexico, where the man in charge keeps her for himself.
They end up going to a cartel compound in Mexico and during the gun fight Rev finds a woman badly beaten and barely alive. Annabel is in a very bad way but connects quickly with Rev. She explains how she’d become Mendoza’s favourite and his intentions were to kill her. Rev saves her again when she has more devastating news. They have a very emotional conversation as he shows her that he understands what she is going through. After all she’d endured she doesn’t feel she can go back to her old life as they’ve taken everything from her. It’s not safe for her in Texas and she doesn't want to go home so they come up with a plan for her to go back to Georgia with Rev. This causes a few problems with his brothers and the club. He knows there is definitely going to be a back lash for the club, plus he must deal with her parents and Mendoza.
There are some very heart warming and sweet moments on the drive home. I loved the intellectual side of Rev as he quotes Poe poetry to her. She is confused as he’s an enigma - gentle and kind inside and hard and gruff outside. She doesn’t understand the world he comes from and knows he wouldn’t understand hers. They build a good friendship and even flirt a bit. He’s so sweet helping her through her emotions and very protective of her.
At the Club everyone really supportive. Willow is hilarious with her comments and kicks Rev up the backside when he needs it. I loved Annabel’s attitude with Bishop and the funny banter that builds between them. Could she be fit into their world. Loved the symbolising of Tohi Ama and Mr Poe the baby fawn they rescue. Rev is concerned she’s growing attached to him and because he refuses to admit his feelings, he makes a decision that has dire consequences for both of them. How could trying to do what is right turnout to be so wrong. Will he fight for her and would she ever forgive him.
It was a lovely ending as she was exactly where she belonged. After a life with everything but without love or affection, she now has a found family and a man who worships her. Who’d have thought after all she’d gone through, she’d find peace with bikers. They have fought hard for their relationship and now both happier than they’d ever been. Can’t wait for Bishop’s story now.
Redemption Road (Hells Raiders Book 2) By Katie Ashley Pub Date: 12 April 2026 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Redemption Road delivers an emotional, gritty biker romance packed with trauma, healing, and intense chemistry. Katie Ashley doesn’t shy away from darker themes here, and readers should absolutely check trigger warnings before diving in. Annabel’s story was heartbreaking at times, and watching her fight to reclaim her life after experiencing unimaginable trauma made her an incredibly easy character to root for. Rev was exactly what many MC romance readers want—a rough-around-the-edges biker hero with a protective streak a mile wide. Beneath his hardened exterior was genuine vulnerability, and I really enjoyed watching his relationship with Annabel develop as they leaned on each other while healing from their pasts. The chemistry between them felt authentic, and I appreciated that their relationship wasn’t rushed. Their emotional connection felt just as important as the romance itself. What stopped this from being a full five-star read for me was the pacing in certain sections—it occasionally slowed down, and there were moments where I wanted a little more tension surrounding the external conflict. That said, if you love protective biker heroes, emotional healing journeys, forbidden love, and high-stakes MC romance, this one is definitely worth picking up. What a lovely story. Ok I probably shouldn't be calling an MC romance lovely. This book is dark and tormented my soul in parts but the premise and the idea of a love that crosses the boundaries of society and born from the darkest depths of tragedy all pulls at my heart strings. Rev and Annabel did that. They captured my heart and I was rooting for them all the way. Their story was far from easy but epic love stories are always hard won and isn't that the point. Where Deacon was all rough and hard edges, Rev had a soft and kind soul but he was always a biker make no mistake, and it was so good to read how his duality played out for Annabel and his club. Great read and hoping Bishop is coming next ☺️
