Never mix business with pleasure… especially when you’re banging the boss.

Jo Baker is the best damn bartender / model / nanny around, and she knows it. Too bad she still can’t pay her rent—until the silver fox at the end of the bar offers her a short-term nannying gig and a one-night stand worthy of a girls’ night debrief.

Three days at a luxury resort on the California coast watching Derek’s seven-year-old daughter? No problem. Not climbing back into bed with the hot single dad? Impossible.

Derek Owens needs to help a washed-up boy band launch their comeback, manage one last blockbuster tour, and then he can settle down and be the father his daughter deserves. But spending time with the sassy bartender-turned-nanny is the farthest thing imaginable from “settling down.”

So Derek does what he does best: he takes control. And that includes one rule he cannot break if he and his daughter have any chance of not leaving CA heartbroken—do not fall for the nanny.

Key Change is a spicy, single dad / nanny, vacation romance between a grumpy music executive and the woman who loves to push his buttons. This standalone in the Hotel Bellwether series has a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

"Key Change" by Cara Dion is part of the interconnected Hotel Bellwether series (though it can be read individually!). It is an age gap, forced proximity whirlwind vacation romance between a silver fox single dad and his nanny/jill of all trades (bartender/model/social media guru). I enjoyed this novella! I think the main characters, Derek and Joelle/Jo, have terrific chemistry, which is often difficult to do in a short novel, but Dion does it well! Even from their very first interaction, his grumpy disposition was caring towards her, which made me totally intrigued. After meeting one night in the bar where she works while the band he manages plays there, they have a one-night stand. The attraction and spark between them is immense. The next morning, situations occur, and Derek finds himself in need of a nanny while he goes on tour with the band. Jo offers up her services, going on tour with them to watch his adorable seven-year-old daughter, Annie. Despite this being an insta-lust/insta-love-type of story, I didn't mind it at all because I think Jo and Derek have a good enough connection that it doesn't matter that they've only known each other for a few days. Derek and Jo decide that they won't "do anything" while she's watching Annie, so they don't confuse her, but it's hard for them to stay away from one another. The will-they-won't-they pull between them is delicious. The spice is top-tier! Also, Jo's connection with Annie is realistic and excellently crafted. She doesn't treat her like a little kid; she talks to her like she's older than she is, which I appreciated! I loved Annie's passion for ghosts; she was such a great little kid character! This is a quick, steamy, fun read, and I can't wait for the next Hotel Bellwether novella!

Thank you to Cara Dion for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

I read an ARC of this short novel from the author, and I believe she just sold me her back catalogue. (Assuming it comes off of KU because I do not subscribe, and there is no way to get a single Kindle copy without it.) This is for you if you are a fan of hot single-dad-nanny romances (if Fran Fine were a former model from New Hampshire and Mr. Sheffield were in the music rather than the Broadway biz, this could be Nanny fanfic). Unlike Fran Fine's nanny fantasy, this is very, very steamy. I need to say that the first chapter was very badly written; it felt like it was written by a different, and far worse, writer than the remainder. If this had not been an ARC, I am not sure I would have continued, but I am so glad I did.

Derek is part-owner of a record label, who made his bones as road manager for a boy band. That band is now staging a comeback, and the label is deciding whether to gamble on an album and tour. Derek takes it upon himself to manage a test tour to determine whether he can/should encourage his label to sink money into the band. The band members, though like family to him, come with a lot of bad-boy rocker problems, making them a bad bet. One night after a gig, Derek hooks up with Jo, who is bartending at a bar they played. He immediately knows she is different than a typical ONS, that there is an ease with them, and the sex is off the charts. Nonetheless, he is preparing to get on a plane for a fan convention the next morning, so he cannot pursue more. Then he gets a call from his ex-wife, who tells him that her mother is critically ill, and she needs him to take care of their daughter. And so, that is how Jo became the temporary nanny.

Jo is a great character, and feels familiar to me as the mother of a kid the same age, and someone who works with grad students who also are often in their late 20s and trying to figure out who they are. Derek is also pretty great as the 40ish guy who takes care of everyone but himself. The book is sweet, very spicy (lots of edging/praise kink so not for everyone), and filled with loving, caring people who still struggle to get things right. If you read it, please push past that terrible first chapter. I think you will be rewarded for the effort.

I could not put this down! I love a good age gap and this one delivered. The spice is delicious plus he calls her “little menace” 🥵

After a hot night (and morning) together, Jo becomes the last minute nanny for Derek’s daughter on a business trip to California. They strive to keep the relationship professional for Annie’s sake, but you can cut the sexual tension with a knife. The hands-off rule doesn’t last for long, rules are meant to be broken after all 😉

All of Jo’s friends were moving on from the single bar scene and she wasn’t sure where she fit in anymore, but I loved how she found the perfect fit in the band and Annie and Derek.

Derek has always followed the rules, especially when it comes to protecting his daughter. Seeing how much he valued his daughter and put her needs first was swoon-worthy.

As a novella there were a few things that were skipped over a little, I definitely would have enjoyed a full length novel, but it hit all the high notes!

Tropes:
🎤 Age Gap (44 and 27)
🍺 One Night Stand
🎤 Single Dad / Nanny
🍺 Forced Proximity
🎤 Vacation Romance

Favorite Quotes:
“With her, the constant noise in his head dimmed. How did she turn down the volume while also making all the colors more vibrant?”

“I need doors between us, locked doors. I spent half the day watching other men flirt with you and the last few hours doing my damnedest to keep my hands off of you, and if you don’t go to bed right now and lock that door behind you, then I can’t promise I won’t tear off your flimsy little shorts and vent all this frustration on your perfect p+ssy.”

“You better be careful, daddy fox. You keep solving all my money problems and telling me what a good girl I am, and I might feel the need to thank you.”

“Jo smiled, gently folding Annie into a hug and pressing a kiss to the crown of her head, and suddenly Derek couldn’t breathe.”

Thank you Cara for the eARC!

Cara Dion books never fail to make me fall head over heels!

I've been anxiously awaiting Jo's book since her introduction. I knew she would be the perfect sunshine to someone's grumpy, and Key Change more than delivered! Everything from the banter to the spice made for electric chemistry between Jo and Derek.

The nanny trope, when done well, is one of my absolute favorites. And Dion nailed it with this one. I wasn't just rooting for the romance; I was enjoying the shenanigans Jo got up to with Derek's young daughter Annie. Their scenes together pull at the heart strings and add a playfulness to the novella I really enjoyed.

While this is part of a series of interconnected standalones written by other authors, Dion also did a great job of introducing characters that will probably pop up in her other books. Overall, the story was enjoyable and spicy, which is par for the course. But it was also a great set up for her further books. Looking forward to reading onward!

My Rating: ★★★★☆

Key Change by Cara Dion is a charming and refreshingly balanced contemporary romance that combines the beloved single-dad trope with workplace romance, forced proximity, and just the right amount of emotional depth. Set against the backdrop of the music industry, the story delivers a heartfelt romance filled with humour, chemistry, and genuine character growth while never losing sight of the family dynamics at its core.

One of the novel's greatest strengths is the relationship between Jo and Derek. Their chemistry feels natural from the very beginning, built on playful banter, mutual attraction, and a growing emotional connection that develops organically throughout the story. Derek embodies everything readers tend to love about the single-dad trope; protective, devoted, and willing to put his daughter first; while Jo's confidence, independence, and warmth make her an easy character to root for. Together, they create a dynamic that feels both entertaining and emotionally satisfying.

The pacing is one of the book's strongest assets. The story moves effortlessly, making it incredibly easy to binge-read in a single sitting. While the romance carries plenty of heat, the intimate moments never overshadow the plot or the emotional development of the characters. Instead, they enhance the connection between Jo and Derek, allowing the relationship to feel meaningful rather than solely driven by attraction.

Beyond the romance itself, the family elements are handled well, creating moments that are both touching and authentic without feeling overly sentimental. Combined with the music industry backdrop, the story maintains enough external conflict and character development to keep readers invested from beginning to end.

What makes Key Change particularly memorable is its balance. It manages to deliver strong chemistry, emotional depth, humour, and spice without allowing any one element to overpower the others. The result is a romance that feels well-rounded, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to experience.

I would strongly recommend Key Change to readers who enjoy single-dad romances, workplace dynamics, age-gap romance, found-family elements, and emotionally driven contemporary love stories. Readers looking for a romance that delivers both heart and heat while maintaining a strong focus on character development will likely find this especially appealing.

Overall, this is a sweet, addictive, and wonderfully balanced contemporary romance that showcases why the single-dad trope remains so popular. With engaging characters, strong emotional chemistry, and a story that is impossible not to binge, Key Change is a book I can easily see myself rereading again in the future.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Key Change by Cara Dion was everything I love in a romance and then some. From the very first chapter, I was completely hooked by the chemistry between Jo and Derek, and I found myself smiling, laughing, and swooning my way through their story.

Jo was such a refreshing heroine. She is confident, hardworking, witty, and refuses to let life's challenges keep her down. I loved her sense of humor and the way she constantly pushed Derek out of his comfort zone. Derek was the perfect grumpy silver fox hero. Beneath his controlled exterior was a man carrying the weight of responsibility, and watching Jo slowly break down those walls was incredibly satisfying.

One of my favorite parts of this book was the relationship between Jo and Derek's daughter. Their interactions added so much warmth and heart to the story and made the emotional moments hit even harder. The single dad element was beautifully done and showed a softer side of Derek that made him impossible not to love.

The California coastal resort setting felt like the perfect backdrop for this romance. It added a vacation feel that made it easy to escape into the story and never want to leave. The banter between Jo and Derek was fantastic, and their chemistry practically leapt off the page. Every scene between them had me rooting for them to find their happily ever after.

Cara Dion delivered the perfect balance of humor, heart, romance, and spice. The characters felt real, the emotions were genuine, and the story left me with a huge smile on my face long after I finished reading.

If you love single dad romances, grumpy heroes, strong heroines, workplace romance, and unforgettable chemistry, Key Change is a book you absolutely need to add to your TBR.

Life has a way to surprise us, our destiny will put us in the right place at the right time and sometimes that will lead us to the love of our lives.

Derek and Joelle are soulmates they were meant to be and love doesn’t know about time, I loved how they felt in love despite all the obstacles.

For Derek some of those obstacles was his fear of hurting and disappointing his daughter Annie and the guilt of not being the father she deserved it, also the need of making sure everyone took him serious while he accomplished his goals at work.

For Joelle was her inability to see her worth, her insecurities of not feeling enough to be with someone like Derek.

Both of them complete each other, both of them are the missing piece in each other life. They fulfill each other and bring happiness into their lives.

One of the things that I loved so much about this book was the relationship between Annie and Joelle, they became best friends and Derek felt in love a little every day every time he saw Joelle with Annie.

Derek brought Joelle back to life, I loved how he made her believe in herself, he always believed in her and trusted her with his daughter. He knew that she could achieve everything she put her mind to and Joelle brought so much joy in Derek’s life.

Wishes do come true and if you don’t believe me you can always ask Jo and Annie.

Key Change was my first introduction to Cara Dion’s writing and it’s definitely got me feeling intrigued to read more. This whirlwind romance unfolds VERY quickly, however it didn’t feel totally unreasonable because we get some good character development building up right from the start. I appreciate reading about characters who can banter with each other while still showing depth. Did I have a little eye roll moment when there was a communication issue which caused some distance? Sure. Did this in any way stop me from wanting to see them get back in sync with each other? Not at all! The spicy scenes matched well with the character’s personalities and made sense within the plot so they never felt gratuitous or over-the-top to me. This book also sets the stage for future romantic connections between some of the secondary characters and I found myself actively trying to analyze their decisions and figure out their stories as well. Needless to say, I will definitely be checking out the next book in this series! I received a free copy of this book to review and I’m quite happy to say that I really enjoyed it. I’d recommend it as a light-hearted read which opens the door for future secondary-characters-becoming-main-character romances and (I suspect) the ability to continue hearing more about Jo and Derek’s relationship as well.

What a great fast paced novella!
If you’re looking for a sweet Insta-lust age gap vacation romance, with some soft dom x brat play and some forced proximity with all that “will they or won’t they” tension… this is for you!

Tropes:
Single dad x nanny
Workplace romance
Insta-lust
Age gap
Vacation romance
Grumpy x sunshine
Sassy FMC

Derek + Jo’s chemistry is piping hot! Derek is the overprotective “bossman” to the band, Jo is the hot and sassy bartender and together they end up in a hot AF grumpy x sunshine workplace romance!

Jo has been in survival mode her whole life, always just scraping through life. When an opportunity arises to make enough money to cruise through the next few months but also go on an all expenses paid tropical holiday?! Jo is already packed and out the door. The catch? She needs to be the nanny to Derek’s 7yo daughter, Annie.

But what happens when Jo & Annie hit it off? When the lines drawn seem blurry and the chemistry and longing is just too good to ignore?

Derek + Jo’s journey is filled with yearning, electricity and a grand gesture that pulls on the heartstrings!

The 3rd person was a bit hard to get into, but was able to catch on as there was a lot of dialogue.

Thank you for this ARC, Happily Booked PR!

Happy Reading

Key Change

Cara Dion has converted me. Even though this is more on the novella side in length, it hooked me right away. The Coyote Ugle vibe of bar-top dancing had me smiling right from the beginning.

I love a good age-gap romance and this one ticked all of the boxes. He is her silver fox and she is his little menace. After an unforgetable night together, Derek ends up hiring Jo to be the nanny for his seven year old daughter. Three days in a world class resort should be a breeze, except for the sexual tension between the pair which they can not do anything about because or their new working relationship. Obviously, that doesn't stop them and the spice that follows is just perfect.

Edging and praise kinks are front and centre so if you're not a fan of those, maybe skim these scenes. The tension between them is so well written that you can taste their frustrations. All of the interactions between Jo and Annie, Derek's daughter, are so much fun. And the ending, so freakin good. I would follow this pair into a longer book but having said that, this shorter novella didn't feel rushed at all. 4.5 stars for me.

This was the first book that I have read from part of the Hotel Bellwether series and it was quite entertaining.  FMC and MMC meet, have a one night stand and that should be it, but it turns out that the MMC needs a nanny for this daughter and FMC jumps  on the chance.
This story read rather quickly but so did its timeline and for me it was not ideal.  The attachments to the characters especially the daughter to the FMC was over a 3 day period.  Insta love/lust in a story is fine but the MMC specifically mentions that with all of his relationships he needs to take things slow because of his daughter and this story is exactly not that.  The daughter shipped the couple right away. While in a way it seems cute, it didn't feel believable or like something that could last past one more chapter.
I did enjoy how the book/series revolves around the Hotel Bellwether and I would like to read the others in the series following this.
Recommend to anyone who likes the Nanny and the Single Dad romance, one bed/ close proximity or the with the band  trope.

Well…. Wow! That was spicy!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️

GIRL!! I LITERALLY COULDN’T PUT THIS DOWN! This is your next summer best read! I am so excited about the entire Hotel Bellwether series, and after now finishing both Cara’s and Roxie’s parts I cannot wait until the next installment!!

But let’s talk about Key Change! The leads Jo and Derek, their chemistry, holy hot molten lava Batman. As Paris Hilton would say, “That’s Hot”! Normally, I’m not one for large age gaps, but wow, this one seemed to work.

Jo is a fun, free spirit who has a lot of decisions to be made about her future. And Derek, a very serious single father who seems like he needs to control everything.

After a meeting at a bar with a old school boy band and some flirty banter Jo and Derek begin a hot and secret romance (only they think they are secret)

Once again sexy hijinks are had at the Hotel Bellwether, along with some more “ghost-busting” (see book 1)

The spice is on the level of super muy caliente! Seriously, hot dominating man and sexy brat vibes.

Read this!!

My thoughts: I felt such a special connection to this couple. It’s a sweet little love story. Yet packed with heat 🔥 🌶️! I do wish there was a little bit more conflict to add some suspense (I.e. with Annie, Kat, or Sugar). It made it too “fairy tale”. It made up for it in the end with a little off perfect course moment. Still sooo good though. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you Cara Dion and Happily Booked PR for this ARC of Key Change‼️ Can I make a wish on the fountain⁉️🥵

This book was a little bit of everything that I love! Age gap ✔️ Nanny and Single dad ✔️ Chemistry and over all hormones ✔️ and the cutest 7yr old girl ✔️.

The meet cute at the bar turned into a one night stand that Derrick didn’t want to end. Where the next morning Jo became his last minute nanny, who was he kidding when he made the rules of no touching the nanny 😏

I loved Jo’s brattiness and the way that Derrick edged her 🥵 the family unit that these 3 became but also the extended unit with the band and Derrick’s ex wife and her partner, everything was the sweetest found family 🫶

This was my first book by Cara Dion, and I can not wait to check out her previous works and everything to come too!

What a fun novella!

Jo is a 27 year old model slash bartender slash nanny who was wondering how she was going to make rent when a handsome man (Derek) grabbed her ankle as she was walking down the bar. One thing led to another, and then she woke up after an incredible night that neither she nor Derek are ready to end.

Learning it doesn’t have to end had the MCs AND me giggling with excitement. The way Derek teased Jo had my thighs clenching.

I loved how easily Jo fit with Annie. Annie’s love of ghosts, glitter, and her curiosity melted my heart. She was a delight and true bonus to the story.

The other supporting characters were well drawn, particularly for a novella. The coziness between all of them made me want to read the rest of the series!

This book is great for those who love age gap, rockstar, Cinderella, single dad, light dom/ brat, edging, strong FMC, grumpy x sunshine tropes!

Well... Cara Dion really said "we're diving straight into the deep end" WOW 🥵

Key Change was such a fun little read from start to finish and I absolutely flew through it.

First of all, if loving the grumpy single dad trope is wrong, I don't want to be right 😌✋🏽 Derek was grumpy, protective, devoted to his daughter, and somehow managed to be incredibly sweet underneath it all. A dangerous combination for my heart, honestly.

And can we talk about Annie for a second? 🥹 She is such a little angel. She's ridiculously smart for a seven-year-old and completely stole every scene she was in. I adored the relationship between her, Derek and Jo, and I would happily read ten more books just following the three of them being a family because they were so cute together.

Now... Derek 👀 Respectfully… HOT.

That man had me learning things about myself and that's all I'm going to say on the matter 🥵🔥

The chemistry between Derek and Jo was fantastic, the banter was fun, and the whole story had that addictive "just one more chapter" feeling that kept me reading far later than intended.

At its heart, though, this was just a genuinely enjoyable romance. Fun characters, great chemistry, swoon worthy moments, plenty of tension, and a family dynamic that had me smiling throughout.

All in all, this was such a fun read and it's definitely put Cara Dion on my radar. I'll absolutely be picking up more from her in the future 💛

✨ TROPES ✨
👨‍👧 Single dad x nanny

💘 Age gap
😈 Soft Dom / Brat dynamic
🔥 Edging

If you're looking for a quick, fun romance with a grumpy single dad, adorable kid moments, and chemistry that practically jumps off the page, Key Change is definitely worth adding to your TBR 📚✨

Thank you Cara Dion for the opportunity to read an ARC of Key Change. This was a fun, spicy, quick read that had deeper character development than I was expecting for less than 250 pages. It follows Jo, a model/bartender/nanny and Derek, a music executive who is trying to get a reunion tour of a formerly famous boy bank green lit. They share a a hot night together and he hires her in a pinch to nanny his seven year old.

Jo and Derek continue their hookups but develop deeper feelings that neither bargained for.

The heat was high and still had tension. The spicy scenes didn’t take away from the plot and the characters quickly became likable. You want these people to find their HEA.

It combines rock star romance with an age gap and nanny/boss tropes with a summer romance vibe. This was the first I’ve read of hers but I will be looking for more!

This was so cute!

Joelle, Jo to her friends, is sort of drifting through life when she meets Derek, the manager for a boy band looking to make a comeback that often plays at the bar she tends. It was only supposed to be one night, but when he unexpectedly needs a nanny the next day, and Jo hears how much he would pay, she offers her services. It was all supposed to stay professional, but that went out the window the second night. And with how well she did with the band's socials, Jo got that added to her duties for double the pay. So when the three days are over, where does that leave Derek and Jo?

With a happy ending, of course. This is a standalone book in a series.

This was such a fun read. Jo was such a mix of confidence and self-doubt at the same time, and I loved how Derek just wanted Jo for herself. Annie, his daughter, was a hoot and a half, and I sort of wish they had had some kind of experience with the paranormal just to satisfy the little girl's curiosity. It will be interesting to see how these authors have these books interconnect and if there will be any characters who interact together, or if it will just be the setting that will be the same.

I received an advance review copy from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Jo Baker at 27 is still looking for her true calling, she's good at what she already does, and that's a lot - Bartending/model/babysitter and now nannying for the delicious Silver Fox who rocked up to her bar one night when he's in a bit of a pickle with his 7yr daughter. Derek is managing a has been boyband and hoping for one last hurrahs on tour, he just needs to remember one thing while Jo is his nanny, don't fall into bed with her again... yup, that didn't happen because their chemistry is burning hot and he can't keep away. Super spicy little vacay romance read set in Hotel Bellwether, a multi author series.

Key Change is a sweet, fun novella that kept me entertained from start to finish. I really enjoyed the tropes in this story: a one night stand, an age gap romance, and one of my current favorite tropes when it’s done well, a single dad and nanny relationship. Thankfully, this book executed all of them in a way that worked really well for me.

One thing I always love about books with children is how much warmth and charm they can add to the story, and little Annie was absolutely adorable. She definitely stole my heart.

Although this is a fairly short read, it never felt rushed. There was plenty of spice throughout the story, so hot! This book was an easy read and overall I had a great time reading it and would definitely recommend it!

Thank you Cara for the ARC!

I'm absolutely loving this interconnected Hotel Bellwether series! Book 2 was such a fun, addictive, and easy read that I flew through it in no time.

This story delivers the ultimate "don't mix business with pleasure" setup—except the chemistry between these two makes ignoring that rule completely impossible. A single dad and his nanny, a vacation setting, age gap, and a delicious grumpy/sunshine dynamic? Sign me up.

The relationship development felt natural and engaging, with plenty of tension, banter, and swoony moments. The single-dad element added so much heart to the story, while the vacation romance atmosphere made it the perfect escape read.

I can't wait to continue the Hotel Bellwether series! 💕📚

This is a hot little novella where an East Coast bartender-model has sexy banter with a fox of an older man that turns into a one night stand. He needs a nanny for his daughter during a work trip to the Hotel Bellweather in California, so why not extend their time? Purely professionally, of course.

Cara Dion packed so much of everything I love into this book. Rockstars, Nannies, main characters that just cannot stay away from each other and side characters that I need to know more about. I am fully committed to reading the book this novella tees up, and the rest of the Hotel Bellweather Series looks fun too!

Quick fun story
This is the second book of a multi author series of novellas set around the Hotel Bellwether.
This is a fast paced story that has silver fox Derek and bartender Jo meeting up and having an amazing one night stand, which then leads to Jo taking a job to be a nanny to his 7 year old daughter Annie.
It was a fun, single dad, age gap story with Jo and Derek’s daughter Annie bonding and getting very close, which in turn had Derek falling for Jo.
The chemistry between the two was electric and the interactions were rather spicy.
A really enjoyable quick read with loveable characters.
Thank you Cara Dion for the opportunity to read this short story.

This book starts with a one night stand with a band manager and the lady who works at the bar, and then turns into she becomes his child’s nanny with an age gap, and now we now have a bit of forbidden romance with forced proximity. This was extremely wholesome and spicy at the same damn time. I loved the sub plots about the band and possible growing romances between certain people. I wasn’t massively keen on the insta love aspect (I don’t like it in any book tbh) but Jo and Derek were meant to be and have such a strong connection. Annie, Derek’s child was so witty and I loved the interactions between her and Jo <3

This was my first book by this author. This story is part of an interconnected series by different authors, but can be read as a standalone. Perfect age gap, single father, insta love story. Derek and Joelle/Jo met one night and had an amazing one night stand. Both needing something out of the connection, she is going to nanny while he’s in town. The chemistry between these two was off the charts with all the spicy scenes. This was a cute story for the summer as it’s a vacation style themed.

I received this ARC through the author and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own.

ARC review!

If you’re looking for a fun spicy little novella, look no further!!

This book was fast paced with an instant connection between the two main characters. After a one night stand, the MMC, Derek, receives a call that he needs to take his daughter for the next few days. Derek needing a nanny immediately, and Jo needing money immediately - Jo offers up her services as a model-slash-bartender-slash-nanny extraordinaire.
After an incredible night together, and on such short notice, Derek can’t help but agree to a few more days with Jo by his side.

The beautiful Hotel Bellwether is known for granting wishes, helping people fall in love, and of course ghosts (what’s not to love ?! 🤩)

Derek and Jo agree that with Annie around, Jo is strictly the nanny. There will be no mixing pleasure and business.

But it’s a romance, what do you expect? The single dad always gets the nanny 😉

Their chemistry is undeniable, and they spend the next few days falling into a routine, becoming part of each other’s lives. But when their three days in paradise are up, will they be able to return to their old lives?

TROPES!!
🔑 Insta love
❤️ single dad x nanny
🔑 grumpy x sunshine
❤️ vacation romance
🔑 age gap
❤️ soft dom / brat
🔑 stand alone novella or part of an interconnected series !

Overall, I really enjoyed this spicy novella and I’m so excited to read the rest of the Hotel Bellwether novella’s and how each of these authors write these love stories!

My ratings!
Stars ⭐️! 4.5/5
Spice 🌶️! 3.5/5
Plot ! 3.5/5
- the only thing I wanted more of was an emotional connection!! I know in a novella you’re not going to have that type of giant emotional connection on page, but I was really hoping for something more !

This is a fun and spicy age gap that doesn’t really feel like an age gap. Derek and Jo are drawn to each other right from the beginning and after one hot and steamy night Derek finds himself in need of a nanny for his daughter. Jo could use the money and volunteers (free resort stay and hanging out with a cool kid and her silver fox dad 😉who would ever say no). They have instant chemistry and Jo fits into his world almost to well. After a few days and the melding of a very observant 7 year old there is no going back. This was a very fun read I can’t wait to see what she writes next!

Jo hasn't found her niche yet and is just living day to day trying to make rent as a part time model, bartender when she meets Derek. He is a divorced dad, who has one final tour to cover with a come back band, before he can finally stay in one place and be the dad his daughter needs. When a family emergency arises, Jo adds another job description and that is as a nanny to sweet, 7 yo Annie. This is a fun age gap romance between a grumpy dad and a free spirit, who believes in ghosts, fairy dust and going with the flow.
