Sugar and Spice are the most spoiled and troublesome dogs in the area--with owners to match. Now, unfortunately, they're Neil's responsibility. After a mysterious break-in at the kennels, the dogs are missing and Neil must scramble to find them before their owners return.
Prolific author of animals stories for younger children, in particular dog and cat stories. As well as a Puppy Tales and Kitten Tales series she has written the Pony Tales series of pony books.
There is some speculation that the author does not actually exist but is a psuedonym for another author or authors. One author mentioned as writing under the name of Jenny Dale is Liss Norton, who incidentally is also said to be one of the ghostwriters for the Lucy Daniels Animal Ark series.
I love seeing them trying to adopt out billy dog who definitly didnt have it the easiest before going to the kenell, the secondary plot of taking care and finding sugar and spice was awesome those two were clearly more trouble than my moms dog ever been and im glad they werent taken for nefarious reasons just taken in a misguided attempt to get a dog.
i really like this book because it shows the kids how to be responsible of their actions. on page 49 nail have to look for sugar and spice because they got lose and if he dont find them he will be in trouble so he went and over the whole town. on page 55 on of the dog was not ok after passing a day with out eating and hungry , neil take hem to the doctor and for not being responsible he did not got to stay with sugar and spice. you will like this book if you like if you like books the teach lessons because if you are good you deserve something but if you are not to bad. the settings changes sometimes it was on the streets or parks, backyards or houses. sugar and spice are very active you can live alone they like to have fun you CAN TELL THAT On page 44.
This was a fun book! If you like animals and a bit of a mystery, you will enjoy this book. I also enjoyed the human characters in the book and was happy to read something that could appeal to both boys and girls in their tweens. The family in the story run a kennel and a dog rescue and when two spoiled white West Highland Terriers come for the weekend, there's no end to the trouble and adventure! This is an easy read and I recommend it to anyone in their tweens who love stories about animals or any story that contains a little mystery and a lot of adventure.
I read this when I was in about 5th or 6th grade so my review won't be as good as it would if I just read the book. Growing up I wanted to be a vet and I love animals so when I saw this series on my friends floor just sitting there I asked to take them. This series is a good read for younger children it wasn't very hard to read and I loved it. I wish I still had the books because I would re-read them and give a better review :(
