Confessions at Costa Cay

Rate this book
I’ve spent years pining over Owen Brooks in silence.
Four years pretending I’m not falling head over heels for him.

Owen has always been the golden boy who could have any woman he wanted. He’s charming, outgoing, and devastatingly handsome. And I’ve always been… me.

His friend. His coworker. The girl who would never be his.

But everything changes with one impulsive yes. One destination wedding. One week at a tropical resort called Costa Cay. I should’ve known that agreeing to this trip was a terrible idea.

Because now it’s just us—the sea, the sun, and secrets too hot to stay buried beneath the Caribbean sand.

This could be the trip of a lifetime or the moment everything falls apart.

MORGAN. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! I think Elliot has been bumped as my favorite MMC from Morgan for Owen. I *never* thought it was possible but Owen was literally perfection. This will be your new favorite summer read (not to mention I read this when it was 50 degrees outside?!?). But Morgans beautiful writing put me in the mood and I felt like I was at the resort with Meadow and Owen.

This was a lot less angsty than her other stories, but still just as good. The tension, the yearning... it was all so good and in the perfect amount for this story.

The spice hit just at the right time, making this a slow burn that you didn't have to wait too long for. And the way Owen reenacts a scene he read in one of Meadows books on her kindle? I was sweating and then deceased. I'll never look at a full length mirror the same again.

I read this way to fast and now I'm sad it's over. But now I have more time to go back and re-read all of Morgans backlist..... again :)

I rec'd this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Welcome to the “read it in one sitting”, Morgan Paige! I’ve been reading Morgan’s work since I first discovered “Love You From Afar” and haven’t looked back since. Morgan is an author who balances character development and plot with just enough angst, plenty of delicious spice, and hurdles to overcome.

The premise of “Confessions at Costa Cay” centers around Meadow and Owen — two coworkers who have a beautiful four year friendship. They consider each other best friends — and when Owen needs a date for a week (his friend’s destination wedding) he asks Meadow. The moment she accepts the invitation, those sparks that have been tickling both of their hearts start to shine bright in the tropical sun.

Meadow is such a relatable FMC — she has settled into the single simplicity of her life because she prefers to blend in, be successful, and await whatever fate brings her way in her name of love. She is genuinely shocked that Owen would ask something so bold of her — she sees him as the unattainable man — he’s attractive, has dated objectively attractive women, and lights up any room with his personality. In her mind, she is the opposite of what he could ever desire.

Morgan writes Meadow so tenderly. I love that as they embarked on this trip, Meadow was able to let go of all the strings she ties herself up in; and as you will find out, it is a painstakingly difficult task for her. Owen is determined though — as he becomes bolder, he beckons Meadow to shed her protective shield and live in the moment with him.

Owen is full-on golden retriever with some delicious bite. He is the flirtatious friend who treats Meadow as if she were a treasure, and to Owen, she absolutely is. Owen coaxes Meadow’s confidence out to bloom by being a man of his word. He reads her cues and ups the ante each time; it was a character dance that made me giddy. Their chemistry is off the charts. His energy in the bedroom is off the charts.

The story is low-moderate on the angst scale…Meadow really goes through some emotional gymnastics to get her heart and head in the same place. The magic of the trip is confronted when doubt and expectations post-trip start to creep in. This was written so vulnerably.

This is a five star read for me. I felt like I was transported back to that dance of “wait a minute, he’s into me?!?” feeling that comes when you realize your crush has it just as bad for you.

Swoon. My heart still feels giddy for these two.

I absolutely loved Confessions at Costa Cay by Morgan Paige. From the very first page, I was completely pulled in and never wanted to put it down, which is saying a lot as a mom with kids constantly needing something. 😂

If you’re a fan of Christina Lauren books, I would highly recommend picking this one up. It gave me all the same fun, emotional feelings their books usually do. Even though there weren’t many side characters, I honestly didn’t even notice because Meadow and Owen kept me fully invested the entire time. For that reason, I gave this book 4.75 out of 5 stars. Plus, the tropical setting made this such a fun escape read.

Without spoiling anything, Meadow did frustrate me a little toward the end with her “I’m not good enough” mindset. I wanted to grab her by the shoulders and tell her to get it together already. But I loved that Owen refused to let her keep thinking that way and continued chasing after her. Honestly, what girl doesn’t want to feel that wanted?

Thank you to Morgan Paige and Luna Literary for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. I was truly a huge fan!

Morgan, ma’am. You have done it again! I ✨devoured✨ this book! Ate it up and left no crumbs, I swear. It was so good! Confessions was different than your other books - short, quick, and so light hearted - but no less amazing.

Meadow and Owen’s connection flew off the pages from the very beginning. You can tell how obsessed Owen is from his first chapter and when his little slip ups start happening, he doesn’t fight it. He lets them linger. Lets the tension simmer. Man, it was good. His possessiveness over Meadow and being able to read her like a book… And she was so unapologetically herself. I wanted to simultaneously hug her big while also grabbing her shoulders and shaking her until she realized what was right infront of her.

And the spice… the tension… the club scene and the mirror scene… MAN. The reassurances and the way he would not give up. He couldn’t let her go. Yea, this was gold. At this point, Morgan, you could write a grocery list and I’d read it 😅

Thank you for giving me the chance to read an advanced copy of every one of your books! I can’t wait to see what else you have up your sleeve.

Meadow and Owen are coworker and best friends. Meadow is going to be Owen’s plus one to a friend’s destination wedding. She agrees to go and the feeling start to surface for both of them. Meadow doesn’t think that she is beautiful enough to catch his attention because she has seen the women he has dated. Owen it would seem that he becomes more flirty with her and tries to make her see what he sees in her. They both have crushes on each other but can they both get past the friend zone and thinking that they are not good enough?

This book pulled me in right from the start. Friends to lovers- workplace and vacation. Meadow and Owen have such a great friendship, their banter both of them have such a crush on each other, and neither of them know about it.

Meadow agrees to be Owen’s plus one at a destination wedding. On the trip, both of them start to blur the lines of friendship 🔥

The way Owen adores Meadow and refuses to give up is ultimate book boyfriend material.

This book is a perfect summer read or anytime you need a tropical escape 🌴 I’ll definitely be reading more books by Morgan Paige!

Thank you to the author and Luna Literary for the opportunity to read this ARC for exchange of my honest review.

I loved this fun and really romantic book so much. And now I am a huge Morgan Paige fan! 💗💗

Owen and Meadow are just utterly delightful as work friends - but he is down bad for her. In all the best ways. When she goes with him to a destination wedding, it is so romantic and beautiful to watch them fall in love….and not keep their feelings secret. I loved the friends to lovers aspect, especially after reading so many enemies to lovers recently.

My only teeny tiny beef was the “third act not really breakup”. It just felt a bit unnecessary, but I’ll let it slide since I really loved the book. 💗

Owen and Meadow had such good chemistry! The yearning from both of them was insane. I loved that Owen was so determined and steadfast with Meadow. He knew her insecurities and tried to erase them…. That mirror scene 🔥. I do wish we would have gotten a little more backstory on their friendship, but it wasn’t a deal breaker! This was well written with good spice, if you are looking for a cute, spicy, beachy, summer read I would recommend this!

Confessions at Costa Cay by Morgan Paige was such an easy 5 star read for me. This book had the perfect mix of tension, longing, friendship, romance, and emotional vulnerability that completely pulled me in from the very beginning. Meadow and Owen had me invested in every single moment because you could feel just how much history and unspoken emotion existed between them.

Meadow was such a relatable FMC. Watching her quietly love Owen for years while convincing herself she could never truly have him honestly broke my heart at times. She felt real and vulnerable in a way that made me root for her so hard. Then there is Owen. Charming, confident, protective, and completely oblivious to the fact that Meadow has been the one all along. The chemistry between them was undeniable and every scene together had this emotional tension simmering underneath the surface that kept me hooked.

Costa Cay itself felt like its own character. The tropical setting, the destination wedding chaos, the late night conversations, the stolen glances, and all the buried feelings finally surfacing created the perfect romantic atmosphere. I could practically feel the ocean breeze while reading. Morgan Paige did such a beautiful job balancing the lighter vacation vibes with the deeper emotional moments between Meadow and Owen.

What I loved most was how natural their relationship development felt once the walls started coming down. The pining, the friendship foundation, the vulnerability, and the realization that maybe the person you’ve wanted all along has been standing right in front of you made this story impossible not to love.

If you love friends to lovers romance with years of unresolved feelings, tropical vacation vibes, emotional tension, swoony moments, and a couple you cannot stop rooting for, Confessions at Costa Cay absolutely deserves a spot on your TBR.

✨This book had me in a CHOKEHOLD.✨

I picked up Confessions at Costa Cay expecting a cute vacation romance, but Morgan Paige delivered something way more addictive. This story was packed with longing, emotional vulnerability, tension that never let up, and a romance that felt soft and intense at the exact same time.

Meadow instantly won me over. She’s quiet, guarded, and constantly questioning whether she’s enough, which made her feel incredibly real. Watching her slowly step outside of her comfort zone throughout the trip felt so natural and emotional.

And Owen? Absolute book boyfriend material. He’s confident without being arrogant, protective without being overbearing, and the way he paid attention to Meadow had me MELTING.

The chemistry between them was unreal. Every touch, every loaded conversation, every moment where they almost admitted how they felt had me kicking my feet. Morgan Paige absolutely nailed that “we’ve wanted each other forever but are too scared to ruin the friendship” energy.

And the setting? I could practically feel the ocean breeze while reading. Costa Cay added such a dreamy, escapist vibe to the story, while the emotional depth kept everything grounded. The spice was definitely there, but it never overshadowed the heart of the relationship.

What I loved most was how earned the romance felt. Nothing happened too fast. The emotional payoff came from years of history, trust, and hidden feelings finally bubbling to the surface. By the end, I was completely attached to these characters and honestly didn’t want to leave their world.

If you love:
☀️ friends-to-lovers
🌴 tropical vacation romance
💌 years of pining
🔥 tension-filled chemistry
🥹 emotional growth
💋 spicy but heartfelt romance

…you need this book on your TBR immediately.

Thank you to the author and Luna Literary for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

If you love forced proximity and friends-to-lovers romances, this book definitely deserves a spot on your summer TBR!

Confessions at Costa Cay is the perfect beach read - a fun, swoony summer romance to enjoy while sipping a piña colada by the ocean.

The story follows Owen and Meadow’s friendship. They first met as coworkers four years ago and quickly became close friends, all while continuing to work at the same company. Owen has always been the charming golden boy who can have any woman he wants, while Meadow is shy and reserved, preferring to spend her time lost in a good book rather than out partying. But everything changes when the two travel together to Costa Cay for the wedding of one of Owen’s friends.

This was such a cute friends-to-lovers romance. Owen is incredibly sweet and understanding toward Meadow, while Meadow herself is both endearing and highly relatable. The yearning between them was written so well, and from the very first chapters, I could already tell this would make the perfect summer read. I also loved that the story stayed focused on Owen and Meadow’s relationship rather than putting too much emphasis on Owen’s friend’s wedding.

4/5 ⭐️ - A fun and charming slow-burn romance set at a dreamy Caribbean resort, filled with heart-fluttering moments and perfect for your summer reading list.

Thank you so much Morgan Paige and Luna Literary Management for the opportunity to be an ARC reader !

THIS IS TOO GOOD
The way I devoured this book has no name! It's the perfect Friends to Lovers for the summer!
Owen and Meadow were incredible! The yearning, the passion, the chemistry and banter between them and the way they made in each other nervous but also brought the best of one another...IT.WAS.EVERYTHING
The setting of the wedding destination was done so good! I loved that we had snippets of them as coworkers and friends and how you could tell toying with that lines made them feel like this was a life-changing moment.
Meadow was cute and relatable. She was so confident in her flesh and knew who she was from the beginning. Even when she had doubts, she still went for what she wanted the most and I loved that for her.
Owen was so charming and fun. You could tell he was in tune with her emotions and was always going out of his way to make her feel at ease and comfortable.
Together they were pure passion! I was not expecting that kind of spice and I LOVED IT! The slow burn was killing me!
I'm not one for friends to lovers what this one is the exception for sure! The hesitation, the little slip ups, the moments of quiet yearning!! THE YEARNING
10/10 no notes
Thanks so much to Morgan Paige and Luna Literary for this ARC, it may be autumn right now but this book just made me feel like I was in the middle of summer 🫶🏻🩷

If you’re looking for a soft, addictive, beachy romance with so much tension… this is it 🤍
Owen and Meadow completely pulled me in from the start—their chemistry is effortless, but it’s the yearning that really makes this story stand out. The mutual pining?? Insane. You can feel how much they want each other in every interaction, and it builds in the best way.
Owen is the kind of MMC who just shows up—steady, patient, and so in tune with Meadow’s insecurities. The way he supports her and tries to help her see herself differently… it’s soft, it’s intentional, and it hits.
And Meadow? She’s vulnerable, warm, and easy to connect with. Watching her open up, especially with Owen, is what makes their relationship feel so genuine.
Their dynamic balances perfectly between:
💛 Deep friendship
🔥 Undeniable attraction
🥹 Quiet emotional moments
The sweet moments feel real, the tension keeps building, and when everything finally comes together—it’s so satisfying.
I would’ve loved a bit more of their backstory, but honestly, it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed their connection.
✨ If you want something:
🏝️ Beachy & immersive
💞 Friends to lovers
😍 Mutual pining
🔥 Soft + steamy balance
This is such an easy, bingeable summer read 🤍

Read this book if you’re looking for a light-hearted, fun, easy, quick read that will match the summer vibes! Truly this book was so good that I was instantly invested from the beginning all the way to the end. It had moments that were super sweet, swoony, spicy, and left me kicking my feet. A best friends to lovers, vacation vibes, no slow burn kind of book that is perfect to get you out of reading funk or enjoy pool side this summer!

Owen and Meadow are office mates that become best friends. When Owen needs a date to a wedding, who better to ask than his bestie? Meadow is a bit guarded and reserved, but it’s only because she has the biggest crush on her best friend. But guess what? Owen has had heart eyes for her from the beginning! When these two finally give into the flirtatious touches and stolen glances, they become to absolute cutest couple! Their friendship was always so easy and natural, and them being together just enhances that relationship. They’re hotttt together. If you enjoy a guy who talks behind closed doors, Owen is that guy!

This was such an easy breezy book! It is definitely one you can read in one day because you won’t want to put it down.

This was an ARC read for me, and these are my honest opinions.

I liked how comfortable and at ease they were with each other, it was so cute. the tension between them was everything, the spice was so good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♾️
Meadow X Owen

Uhm who was going to tell me about Morgan Paige?! I need to desperately go back and read her other books because hello? This was fantastic.

Meadow is a shy very insecure FMC, I normally find those types of characters annoying but she was so well written I felt like I understood her and I ended up adoring her.

Owen invites Meadow to go to a wedding with him after he breaks it off with his long time girlfriend. Meadow eventually agrees and they are off to Costa Cay. Somewhere between the sun and rum true feelings are confessed but what will happen when vacation ends?

I highly recommend grabbing this spicy, banter filled vacation romance. The perfect beach read.

Confessions at Costa Cay started off really strong for me, and I absolutely loved Meadow and Owen’s friendship and the way it slowly grew into something more. Their connection felt genuine, and I was really invested in them for most of the book.

As the story went on, though, I struggled a little with Meadow’s insecurities and the way she pulled away from her feelings. I personally tend to connect more with stronger, more confident female characters, so some of her choices became a bit frustrating for me toward the end. I also wished Owen had gotten the chance to express his feelings in a different moment rather than during such an emotional turning point.

Even though this one didn’t fully work for me in the end, I can still see why others would enjoy it. The romance, friendship, and emotional moments were definitely there, and I’m glad I gave it a chance.

What if the only person you want can’t believe you want her?

Confessions at Costa Cay is the latest novel by Morgan Paige and was a lot of fun to read.

Meadow has had a crush on Owen for years but knows she is not the kind of woman that he should be with. Owen has been watching Meadow during their friendship and has managed to hide how he feels so he doesn’t mess up having her in his life.

A trip to Costa Cay becomes something with new meaning for them both.

Their story is fun, heart warming, and a slow burn that is just waiting to spark. Both characters are witty, are pining for the other, and don’t quite know how to admit what they want. Reading along as they slowly begin to let the other in will have you in your feels and keep you turning pages.

Come join Owen and Meadow as they take a trip to Costa Cay and learn that confessions really aren’t such a bad thing.

🎫 ✈️🌊🤿🐠🍹👙🩳🏖️☀️🪞💐 This story made me feel like I need a vacation in the Caribbean because of how Meadow and Owen made the trip look so incredibly fun in many ways. One way is the way they've been pinning for each other for years without telling the other because they don't want to lose their friendship and that makes you understand how they really cared for each other. But everything changes when Owen gets invited to a destination wedding trip, where he invites Meadow, and where they would be stuck together in a setting where they can no longer hide their feelings for each other, and that makes the tension so electric!

This was my first Morgan Paige book & I instantly added all her books to my tbr!

The connection, yearning, and chemistry between Owen & Meadow was absolute perfection! The mutual pinning was insane. You could really feel how much they both wanted each other without wanting to ruin their friendship.

Owen was so supportive and patient. I loved how he loved Meadow for who she was and that he tried to help her see herself from his eyes. Meadow was so relatable and vulnerable throughout the book.

I devoured this book on my flight & is the perfect beach and vacation read!

Hello fun, spicy summer read! I am ready and here for it! Morgan did amazing with this story and bringing Meadow and Owen’s romance to life. Owen is a walking green flag. I loved his character from the start. Meadow is so fun and the perfect match for Owen. The yearning and tension between them just amped up their friendship and feelings for each other. I loved the slow burn in this story because it didn’t quite feel like a slow burn because of their connection and it all played out so perfectly! This is a book you will want to binge read and fall for both of the characters! Literally made me want to jump into the story and escape on a vacation.

There are so many amazing things I could say about this book. It was one of those books that sucked me in right away and I could not put it down.

Owen and Meadow have such a special friendship and going into the book knowing it was a friend lovers their story surprised me. There were so many moments that made it very clear why they are such good friends, but also at the same time why they both had feelings for one another.

All of the cute moments, all of the sweet gestures, all of the times that Meadows was vulnerable and Owen was protective ahhh it was truly perfection.

While this is a friend to lovers, it is all also mutual pining😍 I can’t even begin to describe how obsessed I am with these two because of how obsessed they are with each other.

Meadows is such a vulnerable and fun character and Owen😛 is such a kind and sweet character. Their steamy moments are soo hot, their cute moments are precious, and the confessions are *chefs kisses*
