I was not disappointed, I even put down Iron Flame (my current obsession) to read this and not am I glad I did.
What Hannah has achieved in 28 days is undeniably impressive. She has created a world of secrets and spice, beautifully written with fantastic character building. The duel pov is intriguing and you get a great sense of the characters inner turmoil, thoughts, feeling and complicated lives. This book very much reminded me of the Underworld film series, but it goes the extra mile, pulling in old lore, local languages and real places.
Definitely worth a read, I can't wait for number 2 🥰
Hannah Calver is a brilliant author. What if you could not hold all the memories you have? What if you had to let it go? What would you leave and what would you keep? Memory as an almost lifelike character made this story so unique and captivating. "Memories, like ghosts, delight in haunting the living. They press in until you have no choice bot to feel them - to let them unravel you or remake you entirely." - Hannah Calver This dark paranormal romance is beautifully and uniquely written. The prose captures you and leaves part of you in pieces. I loved the characters, the setting, and the unque premise. I devoured this book in a day. The author makes you feel what it would be like to lose your memory. To forget those that you love and to reclaim them. There are a lot of vampire stories available, but not enough that are this brave. This book is for you if you love spicy dark romance with haunting characters and a prose that will grab you from the first page. There are so many quotes I loved from this book, but this one is a gift to any reader. "You would think we would both be bored of books, spending as much time as we do cataloguing and sorting them in the Nock. But books mean more to us than any other wordly posession. Books can transport you - to different countries, different lands. Different times."
Thank you to the author for allowing me the opportunity to read one of the first copies of her book. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Maledix: Forget Me Not delivers a compelling blend of dark fantasy, paranormal romance, and fae intrigue. Hannah Calver crafts a story filled with mystery, emotional tension, and supernatural danger that keeps the pages turning.
One of the novel's strongest elements is its atmosphere. The world feels immersive and richly layered, with vampires, fae politics, and forgotten memories woven together into a plot that gradually reveals its secrets. The memory-loss premise adds an extra layer of suspense, making every revelation feel meaningful and impactful.
The character dynamics are equally engaging. The emotional stakes remain high throughout the story, and the romantic tension is balanced well against the darker fantasy elements. Readers who enjoy morally complex characters, hidden pasts, and relationships tested by supernatural circumstances will find plenty to enjoy here.
The pacing occasionally slows during some of the world-building sections, which prevents it from being a perfect five-star read, but the strong character development and intriguing plot twists more than compensate.
Overall, Maledix: Forget Me Not is an excellent start to what promises to be an exciting series. Fans of dark fantasy romance, vampires, fae courts, and emotionally charged storytelling should add this one to their reading list.
This was my first book by Hannah, and she absolutely did not disappoint, especially knowing this story was created in under 28 days. That alone is impressive, but the execution made it even better.
I really connected with the FMC’s journey! Watching her realize she was more than what she saw in the mirror added a powerful layer to the story. Her growth felt authentic and easy to root for.
The MMC completely surprised me. He was, without a doubt, the most intriguing character. Just when I thought I had him figured out, his story unfolded in ways I didn’t expect, and I loved every bit of it.
And the plot? Full of twists and turns that kept me hooked from start to finish. Every time I thought I knew where things were going, the story shifted
AND that ending?! I’m so glad this journey isn’t over yet.
Overall, this is a beautiful, intense love story filled with emotion, growth, and just enough surprises to keep you turning the pages. I’ll definitely be continuing to book two. 📖🖤
This is the first book I have read by the author and wow it has it in three parts and I was so surprised at what was happening One thing was memories and why those memories are important I loved this book and can’t wait to get more books by this author first part was about her and the people she is living with and the second part is on him his memories of her when he thought she was dead and then the third part about them both it was fantastic
Maledix is not only beautifully written, Hannah wrote it in 28 days and took us along the journey with her! Fantasy mixed with dark romance. Cora Dean is discovering who she really is and how she is connected to Derrion Nightshade. Their pull for one another is strong and goes beyond the world Cora has come to know. Beautiful book inside and out! The artwork for each chapter gives you glimpse into the lives of the characters and makes you fall in love with them even more.
