What happens when the cameras turn off and the PR relationship doesn’t fizzle out?
It’s a question Sofía Martinez never imagined asking herself, but she didn’t anticipate fake dating her boss, either. When social media star Jett Parks offers her a new job—one with higher pay, flexibility, and a fancy title—she’s hard-pressed to say no. However, their friendship blurs lines she’d rather keep crisp and precise. Determined to make a strong impression, Sofía throws herself into planning a trip to Australia for Jett’s new docuseries, Wonder Down Under.
After an out-of-context video goes viral early into their adventure, leading the internet to assume they’re dating, Sofía offers to capitalize on their moment in the spotlight. Celebrities fake relationships constantly, and if it increases ticket sales and visibility for his docuseries, all the better. How was she supposed to know that each stop would only deepen the attraction between them?
There’s no employee handbook outlining the rules for PR relationships—or what to do when you accidentally fall in love. But what happens Down Under doesn’t always stay there, and Sofía must decide if what they built is real, or if it was all for show.
Nicole Cubba writes romance with the belief that every person deserves a happily-ever-after and her favorite stories are ones that reflect that sentiment. Nicole works as a marine biologist and has a deep passion for the ocean and the planet. When she isn’t in the lab, you can find her searching for new coffee shops, wandering in nature, and spending far too much time watching sports. She was born and raised in Michigan, but now lives in Massachusetts, close to the ocean.
Thank you @netgalley @victoryeditingngc and @authornicolecubba for this ARC !
I had such a wonderful time reading Deep in Love but it's nothing compared to what I felt for this story. It has everything: nature, adventure and love.
I was transported to Australia with Jett and Sofia from the very first page. You can feel all the love the author poured into this book, for this country. The trip was too short! I felt like I was on vacation with them thanks to the immersive writing, I encountered species of animals and plants I'd never seen before.
JETT MY BELOVED. I think he's one of the male characters I identify with the most. I loved everything about his personality. He's genuinely kind, respectful and a wild spirit. He doesn't make grand declarations of love but Jett takes care of those he loves by being there, remembering details and through small gestures. Words are empty without action and he demonstrates it perfectly. What I loved most about him was his consideration for Sofia's feelings, always making sure she wasn't forced or uncomfortable. And then there's his dedication to our beautiful planet. I can't help but love him even more for that (yes this review is basically a love letter to Jett lmao).
At first, I had a little trouble connecting with Sofia until I discovered that I'm much more like her than I thought. She spends a lot of time planning, preparing and anticipating so everything is perfect. She doesn't want to leave any room for the unexpected. But Sofia is above all a hardworking young woman who has been hurt in the past. Through this journey, she will rediscover herself after spending far too much time in her life bending to accommodate other people's emotions. She has always had trouble making friends and cares a lot about what others think, has finally found a great group.
On the surface, they are perfect opposites: she lives by rules and plans while he is as free as the wind. But the tension and chemistry between them are undeniable. This book is refreshing compared to anything I've read before. The characters care for each other, listen to each other, and understand each other in the most beautiful and intimate way 🥹 I think acts of service will always be my favorite love language. And I never say no to a "fire me" moment !
I am so happy Nicole Cubba came into my life because I’m genuinely obsessed with her books and characters. In the second book of the Field Guides For Love series, we get another adventure, this time with Jett and Sofía, and we’re heading to Australia. If you loved Deep in Love, just know Nicole absolutely did it again.
In Wild in Love, Jett hires Sofía to help manage the chaos behind his growing social media career. These two are complete opposites: Sofía is structured, guarded, and always the problem solver, while Jett is laid-back, spontaneous, and wears his heart on his sleeve. He also struggles with ADHD and dyslexia, often feeling like he’s not the smartest person in the room, but this man truly has a heart of gold.
As they travel across Australia filming new content together, their connection grows so naturally and tenderly. And listen… this is HE FALLS FIRST energy and I ate up every second of it. Jett constantly makes sure Sofía feels safe and comfortable, and honestly? I adored him. Sofía stressed me out at times, but her walls and fears felt very real.
Nicole’s descriptions of Australia, the wildlife, and the landscapes were incredible, I felt completely immersed the entire time. The side characters were amazing again, and seeing familiar faces from Deep in Love made me ridiculously happy.
This opposites attract romance was cozy, tender, adventurous, and full of heart. Nicole truly knocked it out of the park again.
I love being a part of this content team and I’m so grateful to have been able to read this ARC! 💕
4.5 ⭐️s! | “I don’t want a plan or a list, I want you. Today. Tomorrow. Forever. I want to hold your hand and be your shoulder to lean on. We don’t need to start over—that suggests I have regrets. When it comes to you, Sofía, I have none. I wouldn’t trade a single moment for a different version. Because if I did, then who knows if I would have fallen in love with you. . . I love you,” he says with steadfast conviction. “The strength of which I didn’t know was possible. I’m not great at love confessions—I don’t have much practice in that department—but I promise to remember your coffee order and to keep a glass of water on the nightstand. To always order mac and cheese and not laugh when you wear your red-light mask. To love you loudly and quietly and all the ways in between.”
Besties, I! Am! Sobbing!! Wild in Love totally snuck up on me! Because this was my first book by Nicole Cubba, I really didn’t miss what to expect, but what starts as a PR/fake dating arrangement quickly turns into something softer, messier, and so much more real than either MC could’ve imagined.
Sofía Martinez is the definition of hyper-competent: organized, meticulous, always carrying the weight of everyone else’s expectations on her shoulders. Jett Parks, on the other hand, is her total opposite. He’s chill, adaptable, the kind of person who makes chaos look effortless. When she takes a job working for him, she expects structure and professionalism. What she doesn’t expect is fake dating her boss…or the internet deciding they’re a real couple before they’ve even figured out what they are to each other.
And then there’s Australia! It’s the perfect backdrop for a relationship that refuses to stay fake. A viral video, forced proximity, a docuseries road trip, and suddenly every stop feels like it peels back another layer of who they are when no one’s watching.
What really makes this book shine is how real the characters feel. Sofía’s hyperindependence is portrayed with so much care. You can tell it’s not just a personality trait, it’s a coping mechanism shaped by responsibility and burnout. Jett’s openness and emotional attentiveness balance her in a way that feels earned, not convenient. Their dynamic isn’t just opposites attract. It’s learning how to let someone share the load without losing yourself in the process.
The representation woven throughout, especially around ADHD and dyslexia, is handled with such warmth and specificity. The little acts of care between them (like adapting text and communication styles without making it a performative gesture made it feel more romantic than anything grand.
And the yearning?!? Perfection. The slow shift from “this is just for show” to “oh shit, this is real” is wonderfully paced. There are moments that will have you smiling into the pages, especially as their awkwardness turns into comfort and then into something much deeper.
The side characters add So much heart, the friendships feel lived-in, and the travel aspect gives the whole story this light, wondrous energy that contrasts beautifully with the emotional depth underneath it all. Plus, the Australian setting genuinely feels immersive. You can almost feel the dust, sun, and open road, and you can tell the author put real thought behind the setting.
Wild in Love is tender, funny, emotionally grounded, and full of characters who feel like they’re learning how to breathe easier in their own lives. It’s a love story about letting someone in and realizing you don’t have to carry everything alone. I loved this, and I can’t wait to read more of Cubba’s work in the future!
Thank you to NetGalley and Nicole Cubba for the eARC!
I'm writing this review through my tears (the good kind of tears) because how can a book be so wonderful, adorable and perfectly romantic all at once?? I know it sounds kinda simple, but that's just because I don't have better words to describe it.
But I'm gonna try.
This is the kind of story that makes you fall in love with love again. Sweet, funny, beautifully written, the prettiest adventure of two people finding the missing piece of their hearts in each other.
When I read romance, this is always how I wanna feel. This is the example of a remarkable book in my eyes. So I know I'll be rereading it sooner than later, and of course reading the rest of the series, because I need more already.
𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐈𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 was such a delightful experience, and I cannot think about a single thing I didn't enjoy. But I'm gonna take Sofía's methods and make a list of my favorites:
1) 𝐉𝐞𝐭𝐭 (🌄🥽🌊📸🦘💚🔥)
THIS👏🏻MAN👏🏻IS👏🏻THE👏🏻STANDARD.
Completely unreal. Even for a fictional character.
There's no way to blame Sofía for falling hard for this man, the universe knows I did too. And I'm typically all for the grumpy, hard exterior kind of men, but Jett is just AMAZING.
When I was a toddler I had the biggest crush on Steve Irwin, and he's a lot like that. Passionate, adventurous, brave, really smart and compassionate. Damn, if that's not the sexiest mix in the world...
And then we can add he remembers her favourite coffee every. single. time.
I'm a coffee girly, and coffee is my love language.
I could be here forever just talking about him and how much I loved him, and it wouldn't be enough 🙂↕️💚
2) 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐢́𝐚 (📝🍵☄️🍔🍄🗺️♥️)
I just wanna say that I'd love to be her bestie!
Sofie is such a beautiful, complex character. She's an older sister constantly carrying the biggest pressure on her shoulders just so the people she loves don't have to, but also letting so much of herself in the darkness. Especially after being treated so poorly in her earlier relationships.
An over-thinker, perfectionist, caring and talented girl trying to find a place for her heart where she doesn't have to feel afraid of being exactly who she is.
She's someone with big ambitions, always the best version of herself whenever is in her element, who absolutely deserved the love she was dreaming to find.
And she did 🥹✨
3) 𝑾𝒆'𝒓𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑨𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂!!
Remember when I said I used to have a crush on Steve Irwin? Well, that wasn't a casualty.
I wanted to be a zoologist back then, (somehow along the way I ended up studying International Relations, look at that! 🤣) and Australia was one of those places I was DESPERATE to visit.
(Still want to, tho)
So I really loved all the beautiful descriptions of the different locations, the sea, the animals...it felt like being right there with the characters 😍✨
4) 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞
Some of these characters have Latinoamerican roots, like Sofie, so there's a lot of Spanish words around. Which -as a latina girl myself- I find sooo refreshing, and funny 🤣
It also makes of these books the perfect ones for anyone who's interested in trying to read more in English.
The narrative is pretty easy to follow and the story's addictive and heart warming 🥹
So, I'm safe saying I'll be definitely rooting for this book for a looooong time.
I LOVED IT. Absolutely loved it 😭✨
THANK YOU SO MUCH Nicole Cubba for the huge opportunity of reading your beautiful book! I can't wait to see what's coming!

First and foremost i would like to thank Author Nicole Cubba and the publisher for providing me with the ARC of the book in return for an honest review. I'm truly Grateful for this.
let me start this by asking… where can i get a man like Jett Parks? because i genuinely fell in love with this man way before Sofia could 🤭
Everything about this book was EVERYTHING to me. not just the story itself but the connection i felt with the characters. the way this book talks about love, vulnerability, strength and chemistry?? yeah inject it into my veins immediately. i went into this book with expectations and did it meet all of them? absolutely the fk yes.
there were certain moments in this book that genuinely healed parts of me i didn’t even know needed healing.
this story revolves around Jett and Sofia and if you’ve read *Deep in Love* then you already know their connection was brewing way before this book and honestly i was SAT for their story. Jett is a famous social media star/travel documentary host and Sofia works as his production coordinator, and these two?? they are literally the definition of “in love with each other but too dumb to realize it” 😭🤣
now let’s talk about Jett Parks because this man had me giggling, kicking my feet and screaming internally from page ONE. there was not a single moment where i disliked him. and i’ve realized something… a man with long hair or a man bun automatically has power over me because WHY IS IT SO HOT??? Jett is the standard i fear.
down bad? no. more like down-obsessed-to-a-concerning-level.
the way he was always gentle with her, the way he never judged her for absolutely anything, the way he reassured her every single time she spiraled like it was second nature to him, the way he remembered every tiny detail about her, the way he always found excuses to spend time with her, the way he cared more about her wellbeing than literally anything else…
“You never have to thank me for spending time with you. It’s a selfish desire, really.”
UM SIR???? WHO ALLOWED YOU TO BE THIS PERFECT???
and the way he gravitates towards her like he was literally made for her??? okay i’m SICK.
but honestly reading about Jett also made me emotional because i related to him in ways i didn’t expect and there were moments where i genuinely just wanted to crawl into the book and give him a hug.
AND SOFIAAAAA 😭 this girl felt way too real to me. i saw so much of myself in her and it honestly made me feel less alone. she radiates eldest daughter energy so hard. she’s creative, caring, innovative and literally all she needed was someone to push her enough to see her own worth.
the way she understands Jett without him needing to explain himself, the way she sees him for who he truly is, the way she always makes sure he knows he’s valued and loved… THEY ARE SOOOOOO IMPORTANT TO ME.
their chemistry, vulnerability, tension, banter, humor and confessions??? absolutely chef’s kiss.
also seeing Mateo and Charlie again was so fun but i’m honestly even more excited for Amy and Oliver because the tiny glimpses we got of them already had me INVESTED.
but seriously there were so many moments where i wanted to jump into the book, smack both of them in the head and yell “OPEN YOUR EYES YOU IDIOTS” 😭
This was truly so good! I already loved Deep in Love and expected something special with this, but this book exceeded even those expectations. Nicole is truly so underrated as an author and I am here to tell you all about why she is such a talent and you should read her books!
One of the things I continue to admire most about her writing is how natural it feels. The pacing, the dialogue, the emotional progression all flows so seamlessly and it never feels forced or overly dramatized. I feel like it reads like something real, like I am witnessing a relationship unfold between two people who could genuinely exist in my life. That authenticity made Sofía and Jett’s story really impactful and I was so invested in them and where it would go and end up.
Sofía, in particular, stood out to me. Her hyper-independence, her difficulty accepting help, and the way she constantly apologizes while still pushing herself beyond her limits felt incredibly honest and relatable. She is like me because I am a perpetual people pleaser but ALSO cannot accept help, so I loved her right off the bat because I saw myself in her. There’s a quiet weight to her character, a sense of responsibility and self-reliance that I feel others will relate to as well. I loved watching her slowly allow herself to lean on someone else and it was one of the most meaningful parts of the story.
Jett complements her in such a steady, thoughtful way. I appreciated that he and his love are not performative but consistent, intentional, and deeply considerate. He creates a space where Sofía can be vulnerable without fear, and that kind of emotional safety becomes the foundation of their relationship. Their dynamic isn’t built on grand gestures alone, but on the smaller, quieter moments of understanding and support. They are both imperfect in their own ways, but they meet each other with patience, and that balance between them felt incredibly genuine. They actually remind me of my husband and I, and I found them both so endearing.
The Australian setting was so cool. It wasn’t just a backdrop but it felt immersive and purposeful, enhancing both the emotional journey and the sense of adventure. I also appreciated the continued emphasis on STEM, especially the representation of women in that space.
I also loved getting to see Mateo and Charlie again, especially knowing how much I loved their story! Their presence here felt meaningful rather than just nostalgic, and I liked how they contributed to Sofía and Jett’s journey. Doug and Molly, however, were a highlight for me in a different way. Their relationship served as a quiet but powerful example of enduring love, and what Jett and Sofía could have and what they aspired to (especially Jett). That moment where Doug describes Molly as his center point, how she’s at the end of every road he takes and how Jett looks at Sofía the same way, was one of the most memorable lines in the book and an instant highlight for me.
I just loved the feeling of having read a good romance! Nicole Cubba is excellent at this, and she deserves far more recognition. This series continues to prove how great she is and I will be telling everyone about how much I loved this!
Thank you to NetGalley, Nicole Cubba, and Victory Editing for the eARC of this book.
Would it be mac n cheesy to say that I’m wild about this book? 🤭 (IYKYK)
Fake/PR dating, only one tent, forced proximity, ADHD and dyslexia representation, and workplace romance will steal your heart from page 1! As an eldest daughter with ADHD, this book hit HARD. A love letter to eldest daughters everywhere, I felt so seen by Sofía’s struggles with hyperindependence and taking care of everyone around here even when she risked burnout. As a fellow type A person, her story resonated with me and I hope to someday find my person that helps ease the burden of responsibility off my shoulders. Jett’s inner monologue of,“All I’ve ever wanted was someone to let me in, to trust me enough to give me the opportunity to shoulder some of the weight they carry” made hyperindependent readers ever swoon. The way that Sofía and Jett paid attention to the little things for each other (like her changing fonts and reducing text in documents to accommodate his severe dyslexia) was adorable and their love story was truly beautiful!
The yearning and the romance left me giggling, kicking my feet, and swooning and there are so many beautiful sentiments tucked into the pages of this story. “My piece of advice: Find someone who remembers. The big things, the small habits, all of your little quirks. Words are a declaration of love, but remembering is the action of it.” Truly iconic and such an important piece of advice because as they say, actions do speak louder than words. Honestly, can Nicole just write my love story at this point?
Full of adventure, heart, and vulnerable characters learning to love again after heartbreak, Nicole once again takes us on an emotional journey that leaves us rooting for the characters to not just get together, but to also become the best version of themselves. With gentle softness and the intimacy that comes with being vulnerable enough to chase both what you love and what scares you, Wild In Love teaches us that taking a chance can lead to the life we’ve always wanted.
Mark your calendars for July 28th for the next installment in what has been an incredible STEM series!
Thank you to the author for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Jett and Sofia were utterly captivating in this one!! I love how go with the flow Jett is paired with overly organized and meticulous Sofia and how they both learn about love and themselves along the way. The Australian setting was absolutely amazing and the perfect place for these two to find love in the down under. Jett had me giggling, Sofia was so very relatable, and together they were perfection. Both have had rough relationships in the past and have some hurdles they overcome together to help them grow and find love. The two of them are adorably awkward together and I LOVED IT!! The yearning, the romance, the caretaking, the humor, the shenanigans, the adventure, the vulnerability, and the friendships were everything I wanted and more.
We also get some visits from some of my favorite characters (I'm looking at you Mateo and Charlie) and some new favorites wormed their way into my heart (Doug and Molly were absolute gems!!). Plus we get some sneak peeks into what will be the final book in the series (GET IT TOGETHER AMY AND OLIVER!).
One of my favorite things about Nicole's writing is how real her characters and their love stories are. They aren't perfect, they're awkward, they say and do silly things, they over-think, they panic, and they have very real life moments. They love hard, have magnificent friendships, laugh, smile, learn, and grow, and discover life one step at a time. Every single time I can identify with these characters and they make me feel a little less alone in life.
And as an added bonus, we get so many amazing facts about the animals and environment in Australia! Australia is a dream destination of mine and I felt like I was right there with the characters and I'm even more excited than I was before on (hopefully) going there one day.
If you love a romance where the characters feel real and you fall in love right along with them, this is the book for you!! And you definitely don't want to miss out on Deep In Love either (although these are interconnected standalones because Mateo and Charlie's story is just as amazing!!). Highly recommend - go pick this one up!!
I received an eARC of this book, but any reviews are entirely my own.
Fake dating but make it work trips, viral internet chaos, and unresolved workplace tension? Yes, unfortunately this was created in a lab specifically for me.
What I really liked about Wild In Love is that it leans into the fun side of the fake dating trope without making the emotional connection feel shallow. The whole “we should pretend to date for publicity” setup is obviously ridiculous in the way only romance novels can get away with, but the travel aspect actually gives the relationship room to develop naturally instead of everything happening in one tiny setting.
Sofía was probably my favorite part of the story. She feels competent and grounded, which balances the influencer/celebrity world really well. I liked that even though the romance gets messy, she never completely loses sight of herself or her career goals. Also, there’s something deeply relatable about trying to stay professional while your extremely attractive boss keeps accidentally acting like a real boyfriend.
And Jett has that very specific romance-hero quality where he seems effortlessly charming publicly, but privately becomes increasingly emotionally attached in ways that are probably inconvenient for everyone involved. Which, naturally, makes him more attractive.
The chemistry here feels very soft and gradual rather than overly dramatic. Lots of blurred boundaries, lingering tension, moments where they’re technically “pretending” while clearly forgetting the pretending part. The travel/docuseries backdrop also added a nice sense of movement to the romance — every new stop making things slightly more emotionally dangerous for them.
Also, fake dating in front of millions of people sounds genuinely exhausting. I would personally fold after one staged Instagram post.
Overall, Wild In Love feels charming, romantic, and easy to sink into. A really fun mix of workplace tension, celebrity PR chaos, and the classic romance-novel phenomenon of two people insisting something is fake while behaving like a married couple emotionally.
I volunteered to ARC read this bc of the fake dating, workplace romance and forced proximity vibes. This ended up being so much more emotional and meaningful than I expected. This felt like such a love letter to eldest daughters everywhere. The pressure, the independence, and the way we carry everything even when it’s too much. I related to Sofia so much. Her mental struggles were written in a way that felt real and personal. As someone who deals with similar thoughts daily, it felt like being understood. Her past relationship and everything she carried from that was hard to read at times, but it made her growth and healing hit even deeper. I was rooting for her the entire time.
Jett was just… everything. I dont know how else to explain him. He was so kind, patient, and so intentional. The way he showed up for Sofia, he took care of her, and helped her see herself differently was so so special. I truly did fall for him right alongside Sofia. He’s words of affirmation, acts of service, actually no, honestly, he’s all of it.
Their relationship was built so naturally. The fake dating, the forced proximity, all the in between moments. It just slowly turned into something real, and you could feel that shift the entire time.
Also, this was my first time reading anything by this author and wow… truly spectacular. i’ll definitely be picking up more of her books.
Overall, this was an emotional and heartfelt story about love, healing, and learning that you don’t have to carry everything on your own.
Thank you to Nicole Cubba for giving me the opportunity to read this in advanced!
Sofía is so painfully relatable if you’re the type of person who carries the weight of literally everything on your shoulders. She’s hyper-independent, always trying to hold it all together, always taking care of everyone else first… and Jett comes into her life like this steady, goofy, sunshine human who quietly says “you don’t have to do all of this alone anymore.”
And I swear the way he loves her??? UGH.
Not in some over the top grand gesture way either. It’s in the little things. Paying attention. Adjusting. Making space for her exactly as she is without making her feel difficult for it. The ADHD and dyslexia rep especially felt so thoughtful and natural, and some of the small accommodations between them honestly felt more romantic than the big moments.
The fake dating + forced proximity + only one tent situation had me giggling and kicking my feet the entire time. But underneath all the fun and tension, there’s also this really emotional layer about burnout, vulnerability, and learning how to let someone help carry the load with you.
Also… Australia genuinely felt alive in this book. The wildlife documentary setting was SO fun and made everything feel adventurous without taking away from the romance. I finished this wanting to book a flight and also wanting a Jett Parks of my own 😅
Nicole really said “let’s strand two emotionally stubborn people in the Australian wilderness and see what happens.” Between the fake dating, one tent situation, and Jett Parks being painfully thoughtful, this book absolutely took me out.
Thank you so much to Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, NetGalley, and Nicole Cubba for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.
“Or her blazer. The official prison of shoulders.”
100 stars. Never ending stars.
Just when I thought I couldn’t love Nicole’s writing any more, she brings this beauty to us.
Setting up Sofia and Jett in Deep in Love, they come back together for WIL.
Fake dating is a great trope but adding PR on top of it, and it’s so much better! (Especially when it might not ever be fake for one of the characters). AND YES. FORCE. THAT. PROXIMITY. GIVE THEM ONE TENT PLEASE.
One character taking care of the other who is always the one having to take care of everyone is one of my favorite micro tropes because it’s so soft and comforting.
Jett, my beloved. He is so hard working yet so laid back and it compliments Sofia so well.
Sofia, my other beloved. I can’t blame you for not being able to resist the lovable goofball that it Jett (and that man bun!).
Their love blossoms so easily and it’s such a pleasure to read. Learning the little things about your partner is so important and they both do it for each other. (Learn your partners coffee/tea order!)
Adding in OG characters from DIL to just enhance the story of love and friendship, science and technology, and cute ass animals.
The way their friendship grows to more is so sweet and I couldn’t stop giggling (not that I tried).
Nicole, you’ve done it again and I couldn’t be prouder of you. Seeing the writing process and how beautifully it came together, I’m so happy I got to see it bloom.
Newly hired Sophia is starting a brand new role with social media star Lett. After travelling to Australia to film content, a video of Sophia and Lett goes viral online, and people assume they are dating. Wanting to put all this publicity to good use, the two decide to have a fake relationship for the remainder of the trip.
I really enjoyed this book. I haven't read the first book, so I missed some of the context, but it didn't really impact my enjoyment.
I loved soft boy, chaotic Lett, he was a sweetie. He just wants to take care of people and show them a good time. I liked the contrast with Sophia's character, with her need for structure and order. I like that they both like those aspects in each other, and what that offers the other.
I also found the doubt in Sophia's character relatable, feeling unworthy and wrong due to past relationships. Watching her grow and become more willing to take risks and be a little less perfect in her friendship with Lett was really lovely to read.
I enjoyed the Doug and Molly characters as an aspiration of a healthy relationship for both main characters. I loved that the author clearly has a lot of knowledge about Australia, so it was great to learn a bunch of fun facts along with the characters.
Definitely interested in Amy and Oliver's book now :) I would recommend it; it's a fun &. easy read. Great for those who love fake relationship tropes, friends-to-lovers, and road trip/holiday romances.
After seeing another bookfluencer rave about Nicole Cubba's series, I just knew I had to read it. I immediately started with Deep in Love and, at the same time, requested the ARC for Wild in Love on NetGalley. Thank goodness I got approved, because I absolutely adored the first book and simply couldn't wait until the official release date to continue the journey!
Nicole Cubba’s books deliver exactly what I need in a romance: men written by women, and female leads who learn that they deserve so much more than the embarrassingly low bar set by toxic men. On top of that, she excels in writing workplace romances where the environment is just as interesting as the love story. This romance contains yearning, chemistry, and the perfect balance of spice and emotional connection.
Even though this is only the second book in the series, it already felt like coming home to the found family that was built in the previous book.
The only downside to reading this ARC is that the wait for book three is going to feel incredibly long now! In the meantime, I will definitely be introducing my followers to this series, because it deserves so much more attention than it’s currently getting.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.
Perfect perfect perfect perfect! I loved being back with this group of friends!! I love Nicole’s writing! I love Sophia and Jett!! They were FUN! And SWEET! And there is simply nothing better than a fake relationship with lots of repressed FEELINGS that turns into just for now but actually I think I might love you?! They were such a DELIGHT!!
While Sophia and Jett were very different!! They were also so so soft and sweet and just a little sad! And it truly made them the perfect match. They were able to see the scared parts of each other and actually nurture and care for ALL of them. AND IT WAS SO SWEET! Seeing Jett let Sophia take her time, make her lists, do all the things she needed to do without ever making her feel like a burden?? And the way Sophia made adjustments for Jett’s ADHD and his dyslexia - again without ever making him feel like a burden?? It was simply PERFECT! All while they also were able to get the other out of their comfort zones a little!! Sophia a little more than Jett of course!
I also loooooved that we got to see Charlie and Mateo!! Being CUTE! And a little peak at Amy and Oliver bc let’s be very clear I’m POSITIVE they’re going to be my favorites!
Thanks so much to Nicole Cubba for the ARC unchanged for an honest review!
STEM setting: they are filming a wildlife docuseries in Australia Nicole's romcoms are always so well balanced and relatable. I was laughing throughout much of this book. The shenanigans were fun, and the Australian setting was super cool (especially since that's a bucket list travel spot for me and I'm dying to see so many of the animals that they mentioned). Sofia is an eldest daughter with the typical Type A, organized, get shit done personality. Jett is definitely not that, he's just a got with the flow chaotic dude. They both have insecurities and are total idiots in love, and I'm so glad I got to read their story after the first book. This is the second book in the series, and while you definitely can read this as a standalone if you wanted to, I think you'd get more out of it if you read Deep in Love first and saw their first meeting and their dynamic on that original trip since it is referenced frequently. I also can't wait for Amy and Oliver's book, which was true after reading book 1, but it's extra true after finishing this one. As with all of Nicole's book, this is well written, it has a good plot and character arcs, and it has some good spice.
I absolutely loved this story. Sofía and Jett were so perfect, and all of Jett’s yearning was eeeeeverything. He may be fictional, but he is such a good man. I felt like he was healing pieces of me as he was healing pieces of Sofía.
I’m in a stage of life where reading is really slow going right now - it’s hard to find time to actually do any reading. However, this book I had a hard time putting down. I would sneak a chapter in whenever I could. I devoured it in like 2 days.
I thought the Australia trip was so fun. I felt like I was exploring Australia right along with the crew. I’ve always felt a connection to Australia, even though I’ve never been there. My parents have always claimed that they named me Sydney because they wanted to go to Australia, and by naming me Sydney, it satisfied that for them. lol I don’t know if that’s true, but it has created an attachment to Australia for me. I’d love to go someday, and this was a good little taste of it!
It was also really nice to see the old crew from Deep in Love again too! I look forward to seeing what’s next in Nicole’s Field Guides for Love series!!
Wild in Love is a cute, fast paced romance! The main characters are Jett, a successful YouTube personality, and Sofia, his recently hired assistant. Sofia is very type A and likes everything done precisely and with clear boundaries, whereas Jett is more go with the flow. It is clear from the start that there were feelings between them that developed on a previous work collaboration they had done. In this book, they go on a work trip to Australia together and engage in a “PR relationship” to drum up interest in Jett’s new YouTube series.
I thought this was a fun, easy read! I liked the idea of the fake dating on a work trip, I felt like that was really unique. However, I did struggle to connect with these characters.. I didn’t necessarily feel like I knew them a lot better at the end of the book than I did at the beginning. I also did not read the first book in this series so I’m wondering if I missed something important between them then? I don’t know exactly what it was — the story was cute but just fell a little flat for me.
Overall, definitely still worth checking out if you are a romance reader who enjoys fake dating, forced proximity and yearning!
Wild In Love is such a breath of fresh air! It's a fast and really really fun read.
We follow Sofía and Jett as they embark on a work trip to Australia to film a documentary. To gain traction on social medial, they start fake dating and the lines of their relationship quickly begin to blur.
I just adore their dynamic. Sofía is an independent woman, extremely organized and controlled. In Jett, she finds a friend who lets her be vulnerable, who takes on some of her load off without her needing to ask, and who doesn't judge any of her "annoying" (in her mind) habits. Their connection is incredibly authentic. There were so many tender moments that made me kick my feet!
For lovers of fake relationships, friends-to-lovers, forced proximity, workplace romance and (most importantly IMO) only one tent.
While it can be read on its own, I highly suggest starting with book 1. Not because it's necessary for the understanding of the story, but because the series is just that good.
Thank you to NetGalley and Nicole Cubba for providing me with an ARC.
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book is just perfect! What started as a fake dating/ PR relationship turned into something much softer and also a bit messy, but I loved every single second of it. I absolutely loved Sophia and Jett, the way this man loves her and supports her and encourages her made me love him so so much. The yearning is perfection!!! Them finding out that this isn't just a fake relationship and accepting their feeling left me absolutely speechless! This book is so well written and every character feels so real that I actually finished it in a couple of hours and could have read another 100 pages!
I am so so excited for book 3 and I just know it's going to be so so good!
Read this if you love: • fake dating/ PR relationship • forced proximity • opposites attract • workplace romance • boss × employee • only one tent • so many cute animals • set in Australia
This book was PERFECT in every single way. "I don't want a plan or a list, I want you. Today. Tomorrow. Forever. I want to hold your hand and be your shoulder to lean on. We don't need to start over that suggests I have regrets. When it comes to you, Sofia I have none. I wouldn't trade a single moment for a different version Because if I did, then who knows if I would have fallen in love with you " BYE I CRIED
I love how Teddy remembered the little things about Sofia, I love the way he would do anything for her. It started as a PR relationship but the way they were falling in love with each other throughout the book made me so emotional !! I went into this book blind and I’m so glad I did. Definitely will be buying a physical copy as a trophy and because I love this book so much.
ARC Review: Wild in Love by Nicole Cuban was 5/5 stars, a must-read. Now I will admit I have not read Deep In Love which is book one but after finishing Sofía and Jett’s story I’m jumping on to Charlie and Mateo’s ASAP!
What started as a PR fake-dating her boss relationship to help promote Jett’s new docuseries, the two explore Australia and this new hidden side of each other. Jett struggles to shake his insecurities of being enough as he feels his learning disability and ADHD makes others look down on him. Sofía struggles to let go of control, and always needs a plan. Both have been burned in the past by their exes, but they feel comfortable and trust each other to put their hearts at risk pulling off this PR stunt.
This was a cutesy romantic adventure and I couldn’t get enough!
This was my first read by Nicole Cubba and I see myself going back and reading Book 1 of the series and looking forward for more on the series The book has a fast pace.
Sofia likes to be in control and avoid asking for help. She has the needs to micro control her environment. When she embarks on her trip with Jeff it all changes. Jett is a sweetheart and likes to take care of everyone around him. Their interaction is always real and with real connection
This has fake(PR) Dating, force proximity, one bed(tent) boss/employee. They show throughout the story small actions that say more than words.
Thank you Victory Editing Netgalley for the advance digital copy
✨Workplace romance ✨Boss x employee ✨PR relationship
This was so delicious!!! Nicole Cubba has been such an incredible author to dive into, her stories have so much heart & incredible spice! I absolutely LOVED meeting Jett & Sofia in Deep in Love and they DELIVERED in Wild in Love! Seeing them become confident in communicating with each other and overcoming their fears was so lovely. I also loved all of the Charlie & Mateo moments sprinkled throughout and I'm so curious to learn more about Amy & Oliver! This is such a fun story & I will be recommending it for the foreseeable future!
Thank you so much to Nicole Cubba for allowing me to be on her ARC team 🩷🩷
4.5 ✨ this book was just gorgeous, I loved Jett and Sofía so much, they were complete opposites but so perfectly matched! I loved the setting and the adventures in this book, I have never had to urge to hike and search for animals until now 🤣 I loved how comfortable Jett and Sofía were together and how understanding they were of each other, they both had insecurities that the other helped with and they just made such a perfect team! I was shouting at the book at the end but the ending was perfect and so them!! This is such an incredible series!
yeah i absolutely loved this! i am so obsessed with down bad golden retriever men who have a thing for women who they know are no doubt smarter than them. jett is absolutely the sweetest and sofía is so strong. the chemistry between the two was like a warm blanket or a gentle ocean wave, it was so easy. i loved the accuracy in the representation of ADHD as well as the eldest daughter rep. i do wish that maybe the plot with her people pleasing tendencies was a little more addressed at the end but overall, i absolutely adored this book.
Nicole Cubba has outdone herself again. I am truly truly obsessed. Her writing sucks me in every time and you can clearly tell how her love for science just bleeds into the pages. It brings me so much joy to see the love of the planet in a romance book.
As far as the characters go, Sofia was so relatable and I feel that Jett really balanced her out nicely and I loved how he appreciated every aspect of her. He was very thoughtful which is something I always love to see.
6/5 ⭐️
This was another wonderful ARC 🫶 Review is honest!!
What a fun read! After reading Deep in Love last month, I knew I needed to continue on the journey. Jett and Sofía were a perfect continuation in the series: another man who yearns, only one tent (please and thank you), and fake dating all in one? Yes please! Can’t wait to see what Nicole has in store for us next!
Wildly in love with this book! I loved the pr relationship/fake dating trope, the setting of Australia, and how the characters from Deep in Love (book one) make an appearance. I am obsessed with Nicole Cubba's writing style, and my only complaint is that I wanted more!! From beginning to end, this one had me hooked!
I had the absolute pleasure to beta read this and I just don't know how Nicole makes you feel SO MUCH for these "average" people. Not only is this an incredible love story, you learn so much too! It's very eye opening and a great refreshing summer read.
