Jason DeWitt has had a troubled life and he’s made quite a reputation for himself. His chaotic life choices land him in a sort of trouble he’s never faced before, the double murder of his friend and his friend’s wife. Facing life in prison, Jason’s desperate to clear his name.
Mercy Thomas is a headstrong, independent lawyer who runs her own firm, takes care of her family, especially her sister Grace, and has all of her ducks in a row. When she overhears two of her colleagues discussing Jason’s case, she’s intrigued enough to do some digging. Her first meeting with Jason gives her two critical pieces of information about her new client. One, he’s anything but guilty and two, he’s so good looking things long sleeping wake up inside her.
Can Mercy prove Jason’s innocence before the jury finds him guilty? Can Jason learn to be the man Mercy believes he can be, or will he succumb to the lifestyle he’s always known?
So this is the part were I'm supposed to talk about myself. I write so many stories but I often I have a hard time telling my own. Funny how that works.
My name is Cristina Grenier and I have been writing stories for as long as I could remember . I'm a sucker for romance. I draw from past experiences and from others around me when I write. I enjoy creating characters that everyone can relate to.
Besides writing, I also enjoy painting and figure drawing. I'm a bit of a homebody, my ideal night consists of a chilled bottle of wine, some pasta and Netflix. I really hope you enjoy the stories I create. If you want to keep updated on my new releases and frequent FREE book giveaways, please subscribe to my email group at www.cristinagrenier.com
I enjoyed the story, it had mystery and suspense and the pace was good. I liked the fact that Ms Gremier did not waste words, she kept the story moving.
I would have liked to have seen more dialogue and interaction between couple when the relationship was still client/lawyer. I liked that they did not play games but acknowledged the attraction between them.
This is my first book by this author and it was an okay read for me. I found it to be disjointed and the chemistry between the two was not believable for me. It also had too many editing errors for my liking.
Better than other books by this author. Mercy Thomas is a successful lawyer (seems a little young to own her own firm) and takes on the case of a young man who has been in a little trouble most of his life. When she meets Jason, she's struck by the attraction she feels. When looking at the case, she thinks that the authorities stopped looking for suspects and evidence when they found Jason and were no longer looking for another solution. Jason can't remember much but he wants to help his own defense. Mercy sees something in him and vows to see him free so he can begin a new life.
There's some suspense and thankfully, the clinches don't happen until after Jason is freed and the real murderer indicted. Interesting take on the interracial romance genre.

This was an interesting read but this book had so many errors it was like no one proof read or edited it. Some errors were small like so should have been son. I read a lot of digital books and this was the worst edited one yet. Once I got past the editing errors this story had a good story line and I was happy things worked out for Mercy, now do I believe a women like her would go for a guy like Jason, not normally but again I'm glad it worked out for them.
This book had so many spelling and grammatical errors it was hard to read. The beginning of the story had Jason being accused of murdering the Standishes who were an older couple. Then in the next chapter and the rest of the book it is the Bentleys who were murdered. Horrible editing. The story itself was lacking and I was bored. I wasn't going to finish the book , but I kept hoping that it would get better. Unfortunately it did not. I do not recommend reading this book.
This was a very enjoyable read. A little mystery and love goes a long way. The interaction between the main characters Jason and Mercy was wonderful. Mercy is a lawyer who is representing Jason, a man accused of a murder he did not commit. The lengths that she comes through to get him acquitted are admirable. Jason is a man who knows what he wants and from the time he saw Mercy, he had to have her. Great read, highly recommend.
I really enjoyed reading this book. When Mercy knew in her gut that Jason was innocent, she didn't let anything stop her from proving it...falling in love with her client didn't hurt any, even though she didn't want to fall in love with Jason for that reason This book is worth the read!!! I look forward to reading more books by this author..
I was glad to see a different type of interracial in this go-round. The hunk in this book wasn't a billionaire or lived a perfect life. So it was very refreshing to read something different. I also enjoyed the suspenseful plot as well as the romance(of course)..lol Thoroughly enjoyed this book!!
A little on the unbelievable side. No Real lawyer would but there job on the line by letting or kissing a client. But I guess that's where the story comes in. This was a nice story
Suspenseful, smart, loving story. It wasn't full of a lot of sex, but the sex scenes were hot and sensual. Very well written book by this author. I'd like to read more of her work.
A lawyer meets a man accused of a double murder. She takes his case and is determined to prove his innocence. While working on the case, she receives threats and her sister is kidnapped. The story has an interesting twist to it and will keep you interested.
I am rating this book five stars for the plot. It was well thought out. However, I am rating it two stars on editing. Words were missing or misspelled. In other sentences there were added words. Overall this is an excellent story once it has been re-edited.
This story was okay. It wasn't bad and it wasn't good. The story was just too predictable! I was looking for some twist to the storyline but there wasn't any. What bothered me the most was all of the grammatical errors. There were so many mistakes.
