There are a lot of things fantasy author Sophie Clairmont doesn’t like about her divorce attorney, Ben Croft.
When they get stuck in an elevator together she’s surprised to discover that there are also a lot of things about Ben Croft she does like, and she’s about to find out there's a lot more of Ben to warm up to.
Sophie's about to sign her divorce decree. She doesn't like her divorce attorney yet he's gotten her what she wanted... and now he wants Sophie.
IF the story had just stopped with the agreement that this would be end that night, this would have made for a great erotic novel. But then the author chooses to turn this into a romance and that's where it loses. This would have been better had we read some of the backstory between Sophie and Ben and how cut throat he is and why she's judged him the way she has. And then got to read more about how their relationship develops into something more than just sexy times.... and how she gives in and why she gives in. There were so many opportunities to deepen this that were not taken.
The humour is laugh (cackle) out loud and the writing is YUM. I could see how this could've ended up as a full sized book, but I will take the story as the short, sweet treat that it was.
