If you have a best friend that has betrayed you and there is no coming back from it, well, this is your book. There are characters with deep pain, honor, different social classes and are plagued by expectations and duty. I loved the world that was created and how it was always trying to kill you. I was frustrated by the character's stubborn traits and thought many times that if they just talked to each other then they could have what they all wanted. I will definitely continue reading in this series. 5 of 5 stars. I'm not sure if this is the same book subtitled "The Hollow Badge" when I look it up on NetGalley but with publishing dates seem to match as does the type of cover art.

This is a quick action packed mm Romance. This one has no spice it's all world and story building. It's a post apocalyptic world and the first in an exciting story. They are friends who turned into enemies but I'm hoping they will figure it out. This is a captivating story and I'm exciting to see where it will go from here.

This was amazing
Truly exceptional story.
I feel I knew a bit too much of it going in, as the twist was revealed up front, but it was still really good and enjoyable.
Luckily the next book should be out already so I'm off to continue the series. Curious how they are getting back from this.
