Silverfox's First Fall: An Age Gap Billionaire Romance

Real estate. Demolition. The man who destroys things for a living—until she made me want to keep something.

She walks into my dance class wound so tight she can't follow a single step.

Shoulders up. Jaw locked. Fighting every lead like her life depends on it.

I know that armor. I wear it too.

Daphne doesn't know I own this building. Doesn't know her Tuesday nights have an expiration date. Doesn't know the block she's learning to love has my name on the wrecking order.

I should stay away.

Instead, I pull her close and say, "Stop counting."

For eight counts, she lets go. For eight counts, she's mine.

And I'm done.

I've spent twenty years becoming the man who takes.

Now I'm the man who'd burn it all down just to keep her.

She's going to find out what I am. I don't know if she stays.

This story explores life after loss and how two people shaped by grief at a young age carry it into adulthood. Reid has become the kind of landlord who builds and rebuilds without stopping to consider the lives he disrupts, while Daphne protects herself by keeping everyone at arm’s length.

When Daphne signs up for dance lessons ahead of her best friend’s wedding, she meets Reid—and feels an unexpected pull. Week by week, as he teaches her to let go and trust his lead, her carefully built walls begin to crack. At the same time, Reid starts to see the consequences of his choices and the man he’s become.

But secrets have a way of surfacing. When the truth comes out, will it destroy what they’re building, or will they find a way through it together?

This is a true slow burn, taking its time to develop in a way that feels natural and immersive. It pulls you into the story and leaves you rooting not just for Reid and Daphne, but for the entire community around them.

Fighting for Small Business

Daphne’s signed up for dance classes & is attracted to Reid who dropped in. She learns later, after falling for him, he has plans on demolishing the bldg. to make way for a hi-rise. She breaks up with him & helps the tenants who have their businesses there for a number of years. There’s a slim chance they will be able to win but they have nothing to lose. Reid has to decide which is more important – replacing the old building that has character to a skyscraper or to leave it alone & look elsewhere.

She's there for dance lessons but one look at Reid draws her towards him. Reid may be in the classroom, but he owns the building, and the lessons has an expiration date because he is going to demolish the building. Daphne is a loner, but she follows structure and as she and Reid connect feelings begins to form but secrets are withheld and when they come to light will Daphne's relationship survive the fallout. This heartfelt story had me connecting with the characters.

Amazingly Beautiful

This love story was wonderful! The writing was just perfect. I liked how there was a conflict and how the two main characters worked the problem out and did end up together.

Another solid read from Stephie Rose. I really enjoyed it. I love the tension between Daphne and Reid. I liked the story line. I liked how Reid felt so anxious over the whole situation behind the scenes. Daphne felt such a connection to Reid that I hated that he disappointed her. Definitely got me a bit emotional. I would recommend!
