Join Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase in a digital exclusive short story from the international bestseller Andy McDermott. Also contains an exclusive extract from THE REVELATION CODE, the next in the Wilde & Chase series
Nina Wilde is pregnant and feeling very alone. Reeling from the events of her last mission, in which a close friend died in their attempt to stop a resurgent Nazi force from stealing a great archaeological treasure, all Nina can do is try and find solace in her work.
But there is one last survivor. A man determined to take his revenge on Nina for all that befell his brethren. Now he is in New York, waiting for his chance. Can Nina's husband, former SAS soldier Eddie Chase, stop him?
Andy McDermott was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and now lives in Bournemouth. As a journalist and magazine editor, amongst other titles he edited DVD Review and the iconoclastic film publication Hotdog. Andy is now a full-time writer.
It's been a long while since I've read any of the Wild/Chase stories, but stuck in a waiting room with my e-reader this novella was an ideal length.
A nice coda to 'Kingdom of Darkness', and with an ending that leads into 'The Revelation Code', it has all the action, and humour you find in McDermott's work - and the death of the antagonist is both satisfying poetic justice and creates an amusing mental image (I mean, come on, a murderous Neo-Nazi pushed out of a helicopter flying wildly and somewhat out of control over New York City, to be impaled on the crown of the Statue of Liberty?!)
It nicely ties up some loose ends from 'Kingdom', the fate of Natalia, and allows Nina to have an emotional reaction to Macy's death, without it slowing down the action of 'The Revelation Code'.

The series features Wilde Chase in various wild chases over the course of several full scale adventures and some short adventures as well. Some great stories, fantastic adventures with action and stunts that would make a Jacky Chan think twice about shooting it in a movie.
This is a short filler between adventures to wrap up the previous book and usher in the next one. It is still a well etched adventure with a killer climax.
An action-packed novella almost from start to finish. A leftover Nazi from the previous book tracks down Nina in New York, kidnaps her, and plans to kill her. That is until Eddie storms in the save the day.
I liked the references to characters who had died in earlier books. Overall, a breathless and quick read.
I've read all of the Wilde & Chase novels up to The Midas Legacy and I immediately bought this when getting a kindle as I'd noticed it was ebook only. Absolutely worth the 99p I paid for it. Slips perfectly into the timeline and manages to remain the same fun experience even at it's very short length. A must for any Wilde & Chase fan.
Nina and Eddie have a disagreement about how Tina’s writing her book so she goes off to an Italian food festival by herself and gets kidnapped by the last Nazi survivor. There’s an interesting chase scene where Eddie destroys New York trying to rescue Nina. And there’s a few hints for the upcoming book. But some of the plot points are corny and cliche.
Quick Thoughts: 1)At the bottom of this review I added a quick review of a story I found on McDermott’s website: ‘The Nexis Imprint’.
2)It seems like every book they get in an argument that leads to one or both going off in a huff and gets them into danger.
Fave Scenes: the calzone and flying lessons.
‘The Nexis Imprint’ is about a HS student who ending up on trip to another civilization with one of her teachers and ends up on the run from the Enemy who want the information hidden in her brain. It written for young adults and sounds corny. I almost didn't read it, but once they get into their space adventures it got interesting. It’s like a High School version of 2001: Space Odyssey. In fact I liked it better than the Wilde-Chase story. I do have to warn you though there’s a lot of physics and astronomy facts involved.
As usual this short story of Eddie Chase and Nina Wilde getting into ridiculous action packed situations doesnt fail to impress. I love McDermott's action packed stories as a way to escape.
I love the characters of Eddie Chase and his cheeky English humour and ability to get himself into trouble, along with the super intelligent Nina Wilde.
This was a great short story, enough to whet my appetite for the next Chase and Wilde installment.
Excellent short story from action maestro Andy McDermott, which was suspenseful from beginning to end. Basically, a villain from Andy's previous novel is out to wreck revenge on the heroic duo, Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase, and he has targeted Nina. Of course, Mr Chase comes to the rescue. Unfortunately it's short, but it's a great way to tide us over before the new full length book.
This book is also called The Nexus Imprint so far so good like all of Andy's books I wish I could get it in paperback to so I can add it to my collection at home. Andy is also in the works of signing a deal to get The Hunt for Atlantis on the big screen
A great Wilde and Chase short story linking on from the last book. One person looking for revenge and Eddie saving the day in his own very special way. Since filler while waiting for the Revelation Code
Ok for what it was. Almost all action, a quick story in the series. It was good, but I always enjoy a full story more. Nice for a good quick read, since I haven't had a lot of time to get any books in lately.
Meh. I basically just paid five bucks to read the equivalent of maybe two chapters of a normal book. Bit of a rip-off, but I wanted to stick with the chronology. More of the same really. Car chases, arguments, bad guys, bad one-liners and a not entirely satisfactory ending.
Same action packed adventure as in the rest of the series, not disappointed. My only complaint would be that it was too short. I always want to keep reading after every 'Wilde Chase' there is!
A short story by Mr. McDermott that takes place after the adventure finding the Fountain of Youth and the Nazis. A great battle with Eddie and a Nazi in a helicopter keeps you reading. Thanks....
