If you like your books full of action and danger then The Damned is for you. Wow, I thought The Forsaken was intense but book 2 takes it up a level and then some.
Logan Booth is tying to live a normal life. He wants to renovate his apartment, do some martial arts and hang out with Alice. But the president still sees him as a threat and starts a chain of events that that spirals out of control in Columbia.
This is one page turning story! it is dark, it is violent and very messy. We all know what happens in Columbia with the drugs and weapons cartels. Logan is not a man to be messed with but he starts to think that,maybe he is in over his head this time. He leaves a high body count wherever he goes and it is not pretty. There is a lot of emotion in this one, you don’t want to get Logan Booth angry!
And that ending!! I hope that book 3 isn’t too far away Matt!!
I flew through the second half of this book, I just had to find out what happened next.

The Damned by Matt Rogers is the second in his Logan Booth series and I bloody loved it. Logan, the former CIA assassin, is just trying to settle down, but the President of the United States isn’t convinced he’ll keep her secrets, and sets in motion a chain of events that drags him to Colombia and into the crosshairs of a cartel family. As always, Rogers gives us a brilliantly drawn, slightly flawed lead, plus the return of fan-favourite Alice, who’s every bit as vulnerable and real as Logan needs her to be.
What I love about Rogers (and it reminds me a lot of Gregg Hurwitz’s Orphan X books) is the balance he strikes between backstory, personal stakes and pure action. He clearly knows his stuff when it comes to weapons and fight choreography.
This one is paced beautifully, the action never lets up, and I found myself completely absorbed and racing through it. A very strong four and a half stars from me, and I’m already looking forward to what comes next.

What I love about Rogers (and it reminds me a lot of Gregg Hurwitz’s Orphan X books) is the balance he strikes between backstory, personal stakes and pure action. He clearly knows his stuff when it comes to weapons and fight choreography.
This one is paced beautifully, the action never lets up, and I found myself completely absorbed and racing through it. A very strong four and a half stars from me, and I’m already looking forward to what comes next.

Fast-paced, action-packed, and impossible to stop reading, this is a genuine page-turner. I loved every minute of it!

I hadn’t read the previous Logan Booth book The Forsaken, but will definitely be reading it in the near future.
This book was action packed and fast paced – I finished it in two days. Logan and his friend Alice are deeply flawed characters who have been through a lot. I liked them both immensely.
I hope that there is a book 3 – the ending left it way open to be continued on.
The book would make a great movie or TV series…I hope someone picks it up! The book reminded me a lot of Jack Reacher, so if you love Jack, you will love this book.

Murphy misreads Booth's movements and set off a chain of events that take Logan to Columbia. Lots of danger, lots of killing, as Logan accidentally starts a war that he has no choice but to attempt to finish.

A heart-pounding and unrelenting thriller that will send your pulse racing and keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. While Matt Rogers handles thrills, action and nail-biting tension as well as the crime thriller greats, my favourite thing about his writing are the themes of morality and power that he explores. There's a philosophical edge to his characters, and I loved being back in the world of Logan and Alice again.

This is the sequel to The Forsaken, which I loved. I thought this was even better! I enjoyed returning to the characters of The Forsaken and I found The Damned non stop action and suspense. I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended! An easy 5 stars!

The Damned is an explosive action thriller and a wonderful follow up to The Forsaken.
The Damned picks up not long after The Forsaken left off but Alice and Logan have come along way already, and personally I really liked getting this little insight into their lives before we roll back into the action. It's interesting to see how the choices they're making, no matter how insignificant they seem, influence the events that begin to unfold.
This story stands on it's own but is heavily influenced by the events of The Forsaken (not suggesting it be read alone, just that it has it's own story to tell). Logan revisits his past in South America and gets drawn into a bloody, politically fraught situation that has him in mortal peril once more.
I loved the way he and Alice worked together again, something that worked really well for me in both books in this series is the bond shared by these two. It gives Logan the chance to be more than just the lone wolf, it gives him something tangible to fight for, a person he loves.
The action gave us exactly what we could expect from Logan Booth, he remains a formidable opponent for anyone he goes up against. The stakes are higher and the situation seems even more inescapable, and the way this ended left me needing more ASAP!

Talk about heart racing, fast paced, on the edge of seat, action packed 🙌
But it isn’t all just action and war, there is so much more to this story, I quickly fell for Logan, wanting to protect him and see him succeed. He is such a likeable character and there is Alice, who is the closest person Logan has to family. Her story equally keeps you glued to the page
While I have read The Forsaken, you could easily read The Damned as a standalone, however I highly recommend both book and am hoping (preying) there is a third on the way 🙏 (that ending IYKYK!!!!!)
