** This love story is a suggestive romance. The love scenes will not be graphic.

A tease from page 256 - because that's what page number Gene called out! :)

“Maisie,” she said in a voice filled with delight, “it’s beautiful!”
“I see more detail, but I need time to sketch it out.”
“So, does this mean you forgive me?” she asked, guardedly.
“I can forgive,” I said, and hesitated. “I need more time to forget. Honestly, there’s been so much hurt through all of this that forgetting isn’t as easy. I’ll work with you.”
“Maisie, I’m sorry,” she said again.
“Let it go. Please. Let’s move on.” She’d been there over an hour and honestly; I was ready for her to leave. My mind was so full of everything that she shared – I needed her to go.
“I need you to know that Tate is a good man, Ami. I’m blessed. I didn’t know if I could ever move past Blake, but Tate pulled me out of my self-imposed asylum. He’s showed me a life I never knew possible. I never knew that I could feel like he makes me feel. I was ready to feel again. Tate made me feel again. I hope you find your own Prince Charming.”
“I’m not looking. I need to think about some things. I need to regroup and think about how a woman waits for love to find her.”
“You will, Ami.” Quiet a moment, I added, “Can we keep this conversation between us for now?”

I'm Barbara, I read. I write. I come from the northeast, born in Havre de Grace, MD, and grew up in Pennsylvania. In my teens we moved to the Space Coast area of Florida. Now I live in Middleburg, Florida (Jacksonville area) with my husband, Gene.

I've worked in the electronics industry, and most recently in healthcare. I give back by volunteering whenever I can, and in 2009, I received The American Cancer Society's HOPE Award for volunteerism.

The stories I write come from my heart. I'm never sure where they are going until I get there. Most often, a song begins to paint a picture that becomes a love story. Sprinkled through my stories are humor and sadness based on real life experiences shared with family and friends. I write with emotion, pulling from memories and events that made me who I am. My readers tell me they feel like they know the characters I share with them. I like to call my writing 'the sound-track of my life.'

A reviewer on Amazon recently said, "This isn't a romance, it's a love story." (readingmaven)

As a writer, I hope you continue this journey, travel with me, see what song inspires me next, and I hope that you see more growth with each page you turn.

I love to read; it's a gift that was shared with me by my mom - Alis. She introduced me to her favorites like Little Women, Christy, and the Nancy Drew books. Books are an escape, a journey into new and different places and I've been many places I never dreamed of. My favorite genre is romance. I to explore and support other authors who paint a picture through words that allow me to feel the story. Some of my favorites are Adriana Trigiani, Maggi Myers, and Nora Roberts.

Tate by Barbara Stewart
4.5 stars!!

“I want what we have to be unique. You are my unique, Tate.”

If there is one thing that I have come to expect from Barbara Stewart it is an intense romance and this one ticks all the boxes. This is romance at its best, it is pure, and it is from the heart and as always with Barbara, emotional. The emotion in this book is through the intense connection that Tate and Maisie have and the situations that they find themselves in, so beautifully written that they cannot help but tug at your heart strings. Barbara Stewart’s style of writing draws you into her characters so you live and breathe their story, you cannot help but become involved and emotionally attached.

“I loved you before I knew you. I dreamed of you before I met you.”

Maisie was a dress designer and seamstress to the stars. She was a work-a-holic and hid behind her sewing machine, it was her security blanket. Her designing and sewing were also therapeutic and while in the throes of work she could forget about her past, her life, or lack of it. Maisie was a beautiful character inside and out. She had a tough upbringing and just when she felt she was settled and sorted life deals her another agonising blow. Maisie becomes quite introverted in her own way with only two trusted confidantes that she opens up to and talks to. Her life has become lonely, but her fame on the red carpet is renowned, everyone wants to wear a Maisie Bolden original.

Tate Morrow was a humble down to earth cowboy type who used music and his guitar as an outlet. He was a mamma’s boy and again was a beautiful person on the inside and out. He had been gigging at his local bar every week for years and years, the locals loved him. Finally he was spotted and signed and taken to Nashville to record his first album. It was a whole new world for Tate, he was apprehensive and overwhelmed, but nothing could prepare him for his first encounter with Maisie. He needed a makeover, and this was one makeover he would never, ever forget.

“I have fallen madly in love with this woman. I’m trying hard to wait on her to realize that she feels the same.”

I loved the slow build in this book, it would have been wrong if this was an insta-lust/love type book as it would not have fitted the characters at all. We get all the feels of that initial attraction, “I must get to know more” stage, the friendship stage, the trust stage and the head over heels in love stage. It was an honest build and one that suited these characters down to the ground. It was real and it was true and because of this as I said above, you could really relate to the characters and the relationship that they were building. The path of true love never runs smooth and this is no different, but considering the lives that they were living the speed bumps they encountered were all the more believable. It was now up to them to fight and conquer.

“What were you doing just then?”
“Letting go.”

The secondary characters in this book were awesome, Carlene and Dion were the best “best friends” anyone could have and were instrumental in making these two see the light and believe in what they were feeling was the real thing and worth taking that chance. Their support throughout this story was instrumental and the humour that these two characters brought to the story really balanced it out. I loved these two with a passion. Andy Steven’s also makes an appearance in this story and it was great to see these characters intertwine.

“I think I’m gonna cry...The Ice Queen has melted. I won’t miss that bitch!”

In summary I have to applaud Barbara you can really see the development in her writing with each book and this one I couldn’t put down. It flowed beautifully and was an extremely enjoyable read. Sometimes you need a break from the erotica and the dark suspense type read and you can be brought home with a read like this. They say that romance is dead, well Barbara brought it back to life with Tate and Maisie and makes you believe in love once again. It can happen to the best of us, no matter how dismal your life may seem, there is always that someone for everyone and more often than not they come along when you least expect but when they are most needed. These two saved each other and I am so glad that I had the privilege of reading this one. I loved it.

4.5 Stars!!

Tate Morrow young, up-and-coming country-western singer who works as a UPS driver by day and singer in a small bar at night. Andy (from the Rock and Roll Series!) discovers Tate and brings him to Tennessee to begin his recording career. I absolutely loved Tate, he is a down-to-earth, average guy with huge talent who is literally thrown into the country music scene and tries to navigate his way among all the sharks. Tate is paired up with Audra to be his manager, and she immediately begins scheming to create a public persona for Tate. She sees big things in his future. She intends to mold him into star material and brings him to a stylist to have his clothes tailored and that is when he meets, Maisie, another up-and-comer who is a talented seamstress among the music-induistry insiders.

Tate knows that she is something special and likes her immediately. For Maisie, things aren’t so easy, since she has had a painful past and finds it difficult to connect with anyone romantically. She lives a closed-off, sheltered personal life but dares to hope things might be different with Tate.

I absolutely loved the behind-the-scenes look in to the glittery world of country music, the tough times going on tour and the difficulties trusting the people around you are supposed to have your best interests at heart. This book is told in a delightfully fresh alternating POV which adds a perfect touch to this story. Tate is an honest, trusting and giving man and I loved watching his rise to stardom. He never waivers from his true self and never gives up on Maisie.

Tate and Maisie face tough times together as they face media scrutiny and at times I thought they would not be able to withstand the firestorm! But not to fear, they definitely get their HEA and also several characters get what’s coming to them! Tate, like all of Ms. Stewart’s books, is incredibly well-written and she spends time developing her characters. Tate is romantic and sweet, with just the right amount of steam.
If you are looking for a contemporary romance with lots of heart, you will love this one!

Review by Jen Hagen

Tate Morrow is a 30-year-old tall cowboy who can croon a tune. By day he is a UPS driver, but on the weekends he is the star of the local country western bar. He was recently discovered by a talent scout and is leaving his Tennessee roots to record with Andy in Florida – yes, that Andy – that Andy of her Rock and Roll series. I was so ecstatic to see Andy’s name in print again. Back to Tate…He is a simple guy, works hard, and lives and breathes his country roots. He is not set on superstardom as is his newly-hired manager, Audra. Audra sees gold when she looks at Tate. Here is her chance to shine at the Grammy’s, especially when paired with Audra’s other protégé, Ami. Audra has big plans for Ami and Tate to collaborate and be country music’s super couple, but somebody forgot to include Tate in on these plans. Audra insists that Tate give the women what they want, and that would be some eye candy. She sends him to get his clothing seams sewed tighter to showcase his body. At the tailor shop he meets Maisie. Things get down to a personal level on their very first meeting.

“Before I start, I need to let you know that I’ll be working on this seam. I hope I don’t slip and pin something I shouldn’t, so stand still,” she said, and grabbed the crotch of my jeans.
I heard the devil’s laugh, but when I looked at her all I saw was an angel’s face.

That’s about as daring as Maisie gets. For years she has lived her life constrained. She has suffered grief so she keeps herself closed off, but even before that she still would never step outside the box. Maisie is stuck in the past, not knowing if she should take the chance and move forward. Tate is definitely all about living in the moment and after meeting Maisie he has his head set on getting to know her better.

I needed to know why she was so aloof, why just talking to her made her want to blow. I could tell it wasn’t sincere. She’d let too many smiles and giggles bubble to the surface and then quickly tried to hide them. She was trying to keep up an act, trying to convince herself that she wasn’t interested; this was what she wanted me to think, but it only interested me more.

Tate is persistent and he wears Maisie down into giving him a chance. After enough time spent together, Maisie begins to realize that she is happy, and actually has never been this happy before in her life. She knows now that her life before Tate didn’t include being able to just be herself. She always had a standard she felt she had to live up to. Not anymore…Tate is taking her on adventures and wanting her to experience life with no holdbacks.

“I haven’t felt happy like this in so long that I didn’t remember what it felt like.”
“Did I do that to you, Maisie?”
“You did,” she said, and turned in my arms to face me. “This big ‘ol cowboy walked into my life and made me feel happy again.”

Tate is now on tour and with every chance he has Maisie by his side. They have made the headlines and dirt is dug up on Maisie’s past. This is hard for Maisie to deal with, and at the first sign of trouble Maisie runs from Tate, but Tate is strong enough for both of them to battle the ugly tales. Somebody is out to sabotage their happiness and they find themselves wondering who in their tight circle of friends that they consider family would feed the press.

Tate and Maisie are going to find their happily ever after no matter what happens and there is nobody that will be able to break them apart. Their love with have to withstand the rumors and fabricated stories. At first I thought Maisie was weak and wouldn’t be able to stand up against the so-called bullies, but she had me fooled. She just needed to find her natural footing that she was holding back on. Underneath her timidness and fears, she is a strong woman. Tate helped her bring out these qualities and believe in herself.

I’m a huge fan of Ms. Stewart as she writes quality stories with a lot of character depth and intense details. This is a sweet love story that isn’t rushed. I would also say that is a more mature love story and not a lot of angst between the couple itself, but more so with life in general. As the author states, this is a “suggestive romance” meaning details are left out of their sexual desires – that doesn’t necessarily mean this is a sterilized clean book as there is still some sexual tension noted. I will end with the funniest line I have ever read in one of Ms. Stewart’s books (and it still makes me giggle)…

"I’m a sweet kind of guy, but right now, all I can think about is getting inside you and doing some push ups!”

I picked up the first book in Barbara's Rock and Roll Trilogy almost two years ago and I was spellbound, what I adored so much about Rock and Roll Never Forgets and the subsequent books in the series When I Look to the Sky and Feel Like Makin' Love was the sheer beauty of Barbara's story, the way her words would envelop you like a warm caress, nothing she wrote was rushed, you were drawn in so slowly and subtly that the more you read the more these characters came to mean to you, reading for me is all about the journey not just the destination, and reading anything by Barbara is like curling up with a warm blanket on a cold day, it's comforting and real, her stories carry with them a sense of nostalgia, a sense of you living this life with the characters she creates, it's heart warming and tender and so real that you can almost feel her words seep through the print and page, through your fingers, and into your heart.

For fans of the Rock and Roll Trilogy we once again meet Andy Stevens, while his role in Tate is far smaller than previous novels, his wise words of encouragement and his presence is always felt. Tate has been living the simple life, working and playing guitar in his local bar for the last ten years, he's content, happy doing what he loves, singing and playing for people who enjoy his talent. When he is 'discovered' Tate knows with certainly that his life of quiet mediocrity is fast coming to an end. While he is excited for what his future will bring, touring, playing to huge crowds, writing and recording his own music, working with legends of the music industry like Andy Stevens, he isn't ready nor does he particularly want fame and fortune.

Maisie is closed off and reserved, a past that would be enough to cripple even the strongest of people has left her as a bystander in her own life. Maisie is a well known seamstress to the country music and Nashville elite, she has built a name for herself as a smart and savvy business woman, with an eye for design. When Tate and Maisie meet there are no wild fireworks, no crazy crashes of lightning or thunder, such is one of the things I love most about Stewarts writing, there's chemistry, and immediate attraction, but what that sparks is a deeper need to get to know one another, there's intrigue and curiosity, it's a slow burn that allows the reader time to build a connection with the characters, to be invested, to know their inner most thoughts, what makes them tick, to know their pasts, their joys, their sorrows, their fears and self doubts.

The road to love is often paved with trials and tribulations, with growth and strength, with joy and tenderness, there's a beauty in slowly learning about one another, in growing together, in letting someone in, and taking a chance together, and Stewart never fails to leave me feeling both moved and over joyed. I want to tell you every little nuance of Barbara's writing style, I want to tell you all about Tate and Maisie's journey, I want to tell you how exciting it is as a reader to have almost a voyeuristic view into two peoples lives, watching them experiencing first looks, first touches, first kisses, first thoughts of knowing in your heart that you've met the one, met someone who sets your heart and soul free, met the one who allows you to soar. Tate isn't the kind of book you read, it's one you experience, and the pages turn, and you're dragged into the world of country music singing sensations, you realise this is Maisie and Tate's story and you're just along for the ride.
Tender, heart warming and funny, Tate, like Rock and Roll Never Forgets is the type of story that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.

**BETH'S REVIEW**

I first fell in love with Barbara Stewart’s writing with Andy and Bethy’s story in Rock N Roll Never Forgets. But the love of her books didn’t stop there. Her RRNF series will always be one of my favorite series but then came Mitchell and Renie’s story in the Face in the Mirror. And it now continues with Tate and Maisie’s story in Tate.

Tate has lived a simple life doing what he loves, singing in a local bar for almost 10 years. That was until Nigel Rose from the Travellers discovers him and with the help of his friend Andy Stevens they decide to take him on and make him the newest hottest country star. Shortly after becoming the latest up and coming country singer, Tate meets Maisie, a popular seamstress and dress designer for the local Nashville stars and he is instantly taken by her and her “Ice Queen” attitude. Though he must now figure out if she intrigues him or pisses him off and somehow win her over. Maisie hasn’t had it easy and due to a tragedy from her past, she has put up walls and determined to not let Tate in. But Tate is persistent and doesn’t give up on her. And from there we get their love story and see how they individually and as a couple struggle with their new life in the spotlight!

Tate was a really great character, down to earth country boy who just wanted to sing, didn’t matter where. When he finally became the latest up and coming country star winning awards, I love that he remained to be the same old Tate, he didn’t let the fame go to his head. He definitely was a true romantic at heart who was persistent to break down Maisie’s walls she had built and make her his. He was the sweet totally swoon worthy country hunk that you couldn’t not fall in love with.

I loved Maisie, she started out as a bit of a cold distant person but as the story plays out we learn more about her story and why she is the way she is with her walls up letting very few people get close to her. Slowly though she can’t help but let Tate in and end up falling in love with him. But how can you not, when you got a hot country star trying to sweep you off your feet by dedicating the first song of every concert to you. As much as she loves the fact that he does that, she hates the attention which she could have very easily used to better her career but she didn’t. I loved the connection between these two, they were real down to earth people living in the land of country stars, but with them what you saw is what you got and I loved that they stayed true to who they were, fame didn’t change them or their love.

I really enjoyed Tate and Maisie and I really loved how she intertwined Andy and Nigel into Tate’s story, giving us both new and old characters all wrapped up into one book. I also really liked that their story also included some great characters, from ones we have already know, to new great ones we have now come to love to even the ones we loved to hate. I loved Carlene and Dion, they truly added some great humour to the story and I loved how they were such devoted friends to Maisie. And what’s a great story without a great mix of drama and a really great mole but I will leave it at that don’t want to spoil that on you, it will take some time to realize the true mole in this one.

Overall , Tate is a great sweet romance between two people that fate has found a way to have their paths cross. This book had a little bit of everything, it was sweet but also had some sexy, funny but also had some heartbreak and of course some mystery that will keep you turning the page. I must say I loved that Barbara really turned up the heat on this one, much more than her past books but still very nicely done. I also loved that there was some drama and mystery happening in this story that really put Masie and Tate’s love to the test. And the one sure thing with a Barbara Stewart book that I love most of all is all the music and song lyrics that the she intertwined into the story to truly tell their love story.

*I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review*

I'm a big fan of Barbara Stewart and have loved all of her books. I have to be honest, when I first heard that the book was going to be written about a country music singer (her main character in the past was a rocker) I was a little skeptical at first. However, that didn't stop me from going in. Tate has become my all time, absolute FAVORITE! From the very beginning this book captured me. I had a hard time putting it down and that is a sure sign that I'm invested!

The main characters, Maisie and Tate are written beautifully; rich and well rounded. Each of them have a life, each of them have a purpose and both of them are made perfectly for each other! There are parts that touched me on a very personal level and brought me back to a time that made me feel for Maisie and shed tears.

The supporting characters of Carlene and Dion are perfect, comically written and so down to earth. You just want to be friends with them as well!

Barbara writes beautiful love scenes that lets the reader use their own imagination. I appreciated that Maisie and Tate didn't just "instantly" fall in love. Instead, it was a slow build. Yes they were both attracted to each other from the get go, but she let them, especially Maisie, work out her feelings. They were not quick to jump into a relationship, they started off as friends.

This book does have drama, though it wasn't far fetched or a stretch for the reader to grab on to. There is love, there is loss, there is family and their is friendship and their is entertainment...literally!

I love the book cover! <3

Barbara did a fantastic job to put her words into a great book, this book caught me in a way that I felt like "being" one if the characters.

I really enjoyed Tate's story. His love for music and his family is touching. He's a good ole boy who is totally content singing to a packed house at Willie's every weekend. Once he is discovered he is excited to live his dream until his life is turned upside down. His manager has him set to be every woman's dream but he only wants to be one woman's reality.
Ms. Stewart is a great story teller and her characters are like friends by the time you close the book. I loved that we were able to catch up with Andy and Carlee again plus meet new characters.

Tate Morrow. Oklahoma native. Thirty, single, and genuinely humble & nice, Tate is a UPS driver by day and a performer on the weekend, and let me tell you, he works the stage like a pro. Tate is not looking for anything - fame, money, none of that, he just wants to sing. After signing at Wet Willies for ten years, Tate is picked up by Nigel Rose & Andy Stevens and he heads to Florida to record his first album. He wasn't expecting fame, nor was he expecting a very intriguing seamstress by the name of Maisie.
"Hes not a seeker. He's a humble guy."

Maisie Bolden. Introverted and trapped in the past & grief from her late husbands death, Maisie has hidden behind her sewing machine for the past 4 years. Seamstress to the stars, everyone wants a "Maisie Bolden Original", and when Tate steps into her shop for the first time, all he wants is to get to know about this beautiful, broken woman. Tate makes it a habit to stop by the shop, and he is very persistent about a date. Reluctantly, Maisie finally agrees. Tate has the need to protect Maisie, and after she invites him in one evening, she spills her heart out to him. In this moment, Tate knows hes not letting go of her.

"It seems that good in my life comes in spurts. When it happens - when something good comes along - it's short lived. I fear letting go and giving in, because I'm afraid if I open my heart, it will go away too soon. But when I do, I can feel everything change, and it makes me happy."

Tate is such a gentleman, and so mindful of her feelings and willing to take things slow. I loved the gradual build of this book. We get all the feels of that initial attraction, the friendship stage, the trust stage and the head over heels in love stage. After enough time spent together, Maisie begins to realize that she is happy, and actually has never been this happy before in her life, she slowly let Tate in and ends up falling in love with him

I have I said how much I love Tate Morrow? I think he has become one of my favorite book boyfriends. How could he not? When you got a hot country star trying to sweep you off your feet by dedicating the first song of every concert to you. The way a man talks about his mama says many things about a man...and oh is this true. Tate Morrow is a mamas boy and there ain't nothing wrong with that, because that woman raised him right.
"One journey ends, a new one begins."

Maisie is a strong heroine with a rough upbringing, and a southern gentlemen was just what she needed to bring her out of her turtle shell and learn to love again. Normally, when I read a book about a woman dating a famous character, the woman is very jealous. But I was relieved that Maisie was far from it. Shes independent and supportive.

The secondary characters are great!! I haven't read any of Barbara's other books, but from the reviews I have read, we are meeting Andy once again...so I am definitely going to have to devour those as soon as possible, because I adored this character. Not only Andy, but Dion and "Queen" Carlene. They were all such a strong support system for both Maisie and Tate and they truly added some great humor to the story.

When Tate goes on tour Maisie's rough upbringing seems to find itself in the headlines. With all the publicity, and a famous boyfriend, will Maisie run into hiding?

OMG. How I loved Tate. Sometimes its good to step away form the smut and pick up a good romance. Chivalry is truly dead and I was relieved to find it in the heart of a good book that is called Tate. I do have to admit, every song Tate sang for Maisie, I stopped reading and I had to listen to it. Hahaha. I grew up listening to country, so this book was perfect. I had a chance to meet Ms Barbara Stewart at the Book Obsessed Babes Author Signing Event in Jacksonville, FL April 25, 2015. And when she was telling me about her books, I just knew I had to meet Tate. This is the first book I read by Barbara. I can not wait to read another! I could sit here all day and quote the beautiful words flowing off the pages, but why do that when I can strongly recommend that you grab a copy for yourself, and prepare to fall in love.

Amazingly Breathtaking are the two words that came to mind when I finished Tate. I fell in love with the beautiful love story between Tate and Maisie. The storyline and characters have you feeling like you are part of this amazing love story and loving every minute of their journey. I got so involved with this incredible book that I could not put it down until the end. This is one of those books that deserves more than 5 stars.

I have been a big fan of Barbara S Stewart since the day I picked up and read Rock and Roll Never Forgets. I have read and fell in love with all books. Barbara has a unique and creative way of writing her books that captures your heart and makes you want more. Tate definitely is a book that has all the amazing qualities of her writing.

I am huge Andy Stevens and Traveler fan! I was more than excited that Andy, Nigel, and Marco were part of the breathtaking love story of Tate and Maisie.

Now, if you think that this a simple romance story then you are in for a surprise because there are many twist and turns in this storyline. Tate and Maisie have many obstacles that they have to endure before that have their perfect ending. Believe me the ending to this amazingly breathtaking story is PERFECT!

I highly recommend this must read book to all readers. You will fall head over heels in love with book. Tate is a book that you will want to read over and over.

Tate is a down home country boy, just trying to make it on the country music scene. His first hit puts him in a position to have every female's eyes on him, and what's not to love about a hot country guy that can melt you with a song? Maisie is a seamstress to the stars, and Tate feels a connection to her right away. Maisie has a past and has been through heartbreak before. Will Tate be able to break down the walls that Maisie has built around her heart? Will the spot light of being with Tate be too much?
This is the first book that I have read by this author, and let me tell you it won't be the last. Although this book doesn't have graphic sex scenes, the lack of them makes this book the amazing read that it is. You get to really feel the way Tate and Maisie feel for each other without them jumping into bed with each other, it seems more heartfelt. Barbara is an amazing author and is able to suck you right into the story so that you feel like you are almost part of it. I was not able to put this book down once I started it! I can't say enough great things about this book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone in need of a true love story! I can't wait to see what Barbara comes up with next!

Mushy, Starry-eyed Romance with a Surprising Plot

Humble, down-home hunk, Tate, gets scooped up to make music in Nashville and is determined to make sweet music with Maisie, seamstress to the country stars. But she’s brokenhearted and reluctant to experience new love and happiness. Once Tate has her by his side, the tabloids expose some horrible gossip and scandal related to Maisie’s past. Tate and Maisie begin to wonder who would benefit from uncovering such a story and as the reader, I had my suspicions. I’ll just say Barbara Stewart’s superb character development makes you adore Carlene and Dion, and almost abhor Ami and Audra. While reading, I enjoyed being on a country music tour with Tate; designing beautiful costumes with Maisie; attending star-studded award shows; and playing detective with the clues. Along with those experiences, this book contains lots of mushy, starry-eyed romance--sometimes hard to believe. But that’s what makes a good romance, isn’t it?!

Note: I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Wow! This is the first book I have read by this author. I definitely need to find her backlist and start reading those. If you like well written, deeply romantic, character driven books, look no further. Tate and Maisie's story sucked me right in. Once I started the book I could not put it down. All of the characters, both main and secondary are well developed and integral to the storyline. Along with the romance, there is suspense plot that took a twist I did not see coming. This book is set against the backdrop of the Nashville music scene and the rise to stardom of Tate. He is intrigued by Maisie, who has has had enough heartbreak and loss to fill two lifetimes. Their journey is sweet and sensual, the sex is more implied than graphic but the characters make this book stellar. I am anxious to read other books by this author and suggest you pick up Tate and see his rise to stardom and journey to his HEA.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! I was one of the lucky ones to be chosen to receive an ARC copy of Tate in exchange for an honest review. This is another homerun for Ms. Barbara again. Andy, my love from Rock and Roll Never Dies trilogy. Now there is Tate, what a great man. And Maise, scared yet desires to be with another man as wonderful as Blake. Tate standing in front of her, yet she is so apprehensive. She lets her guard down much to her surprise. The characters are grown with nurturing love and care, we don't know which direction their lives will take.
I highly recommend this book on 4/2/2015. It was hard to put down.

I had the honor of being chosen an early reader of Barb's newest book, Tate. As someone who has also read all her books, I believe Tate to be her best work so far. A perfect love story with a mystery wrapped up in the middle, to another love story being developed as the perfect love story goes along. I caught myself trying to figure out the mystery, but was totally caught off guard at the end, a perfect end, I might add. I absolutely loved the way the story was told from two different views, his and hers. If you want to find out the full details, please give Tate a try. I am positive you will not be disappointed.

Tate, I love you to the Moon and back! This is my first read by this author, and it truly was like a breath of fresh air. Tate is so refreshing; a genuine gentleman, with charm, talent, persistence, sensitivity and strength. As the reader, you can't help by fall for him. His wooing and courtship of Maisie was precious and oh, so special; it made me sigh from warm fuzzies and contentment. The love was palpable and the songs were the icing that made this so delicious. I will definitely check out more of this author's work, as I so enjoyed this first one. Thank you Barbara for sharing Tate with all us girls!

This was a cozy romance, but a bit slow I thought. The main characters, Tate and Maisie find each other and fall in love. The country background is fun as I didn't know a lot about it. Tate isn't very realistic, I didn't think, because he was too perfect. The other characters in the story were more believable. There was a lot of material that probably didn't really need to be there, like so much detail about a dinner out for example. It took me a while to read the book.
The book could be read by anyone, very clean and cozy. The descriptions were detailed and I could definitely picture the scenes in my head.

Another Fabulous read from Barbars Stewart

Another great story from Barbara S Stewart, really enjoyed Tate and Maisie's story and Tate story of coming into to stardom. A really enjoyable sweet romance with just the right amount of drama added in. Loved that we got to see some more of Andy from RRNF and loved all the music lyrics Tate wrote for Maisie

In Barb's crown of jewels, this is the diamond..... Since it is April 2nd and the cat is out of the bag, I loved "Tate". This book was a little romance and a little mystery showing Barb's maturity and wisdom growing with her writing. I could not put it down from page 1 to page 300. Get it now and just enjoy, let it carry you away to Nashville and places beyond. Thank you Barbara Seaman Stewart the author.

“Tate” was the first book I read as a Red Pen Mafia ARC Readers. This is a truly moving story of a real love affair between two real people who met by accident. Tate Marrow fell in love at first sight but had to win the affection of Maisie. Their story goes through some unexpected ups and downs but they land squarely on their feet. Barbara has the ability to get you settled into a happy plot then out of nowhere the plot thickens. A true romance novel I would recommend to anyone.

NO SPOILERS****
Once again, I was chosen to pre read the book Tate, by Barbara Stewart. I have been a lucky one to read before her books are published for the public to enjoy. As always, Barbara has written a story that keeps me wanting more. After reading each book, I say that is my favorite... this time, Tate, just happens to be my favorite.
Looking forward to reading it again..

On the whole I really liked this book, I loved the characters and their introductions to the story, and after a couple of the books I'd been reading this was a romance story at heart.
I'm not really good at whodunits but this kept me intrigued :) tho for me, at some points this book was overloaded with mush, I love you, can't live without you, type situations, but on the whole, loved it :)

I LOVED this book! I believe it may be the best book yet by Barbara Stewart...it is in a close running with Rock and Roll Never Forgets. It is a wonderful love story with just enough drama to keep it a page turner. I HIGHLY recommend it for someone who just needs a feel-good story to get swept away in for a couple of days!
