This novella was a sweet and heartfelt read that follows Eliana as she works to rebuild her life after the loss of her husband.
As she begins navigating a new normal, her late husband's best friend, Luke, reconnects with her, and what starts as friendship gradually blossoms into something more. Their journey was emotional, tender, and easy to root for.
One of my favorite aspects of the story was getting both perspectives. Seeing Luke’s thoughts and feelings added so much depth to the romance, and his acts of service throughout the story were incredibly thoughtful and touching.
The chemistry between the characters was good, and the spice was well done, I was definitely invested. I also loved the little bits of Spanglish sprinkled throughout the story, which made it feel even more relatable and familiar.
That said, my biggest complaint is that I wanted more. The story was enjoyable, but I found myself wishing it had been longer so we could dive deeper into the characters’ histories, emotions, and personal struggles. Some moments felt rushed, though that’s understandable given the novella format.
Overall, Between Love and Loyalty is a charming and emotional quick read with a sweet romance, lovable characters, and just the right amount of spice.

This was such a cute and sweet novella! It was a quick read, but I still found myself really invested in the characters. My favorite part was definitely the yearning from Luke. His feelings for her were so obvious, and I loved how devoted and caring he was.
I also enjoyed seeing Eliana’s Hispanic heritage represented throughout the story. It added a nice layer to her character and made the family dynamics feel authentic. The connections with her daughters were adorable and brought so much heart to the story.
Overall, this was a sweet, feel good read with lovable characters, family moments, and a romance that left me smiling.

Heavy Topics but filled with super cute moments.
This felt like a Hallmark Movie moment in a such a good way. Love to see Spanish/Spanglish phrases & nicknames being used in books, theres just something about being able to relate on a deeper level with the characters. My rating is based on vibes and the emotions felt, at one point i was mad at the FMC cause i just wanted to her to be happy and let herself be loved however, i understood her grief. Marie did a great job portraying grief in such a way that you can feel their mental struggles. This book was just cute, both the FMC & MMC deserved happiness and i’m just glad they found it with eachother !!

Sexy, fun read!
This is a perfect little romance for when you're craving a little bite of something sweet and sexy. These two characters steamed up the page and was so happy for them to find their happy ending together. Recommend! 😍
