I've had this book for a number of years and hadn't gotten around to picking it up and actually reading it. I sort of mentally wrote it off as just another coffee table book about Minnesota.
"Wild Minnesota", however, is a pleasant surprise. Far from being just a coffee table book, Greg Breining includes some very nice personal anecdotes about his experiences of various parts of Minnesota. He describes shooting rapids in a kayak and hiking through a bog. His relaxed and personal writing style nicely dovetails with the gorgeous photographs from throughout the state.
