He saved her life. She saved his soul.
When traveling nurse Nina Castell hits a deer on a dark forest road outside Nightfall Cove, she expects to die alone. She's supposed to start a three-month contract at the local clinic in the morning. What she gets instead is Garrett — seven feet of scarred minotaur muscle who carries her to safety without saying a word.
As Sergeant-at-Arms of the Feral Sons MC, Garrett "Gore" Maddox has spent fifteen years building a life in the shadows of the Oregon coast. A former pit fighter with a body full of scars and a voice he barely uses, he keeps the club safe and asks for nothing in return. Love isn't something men like him get to have.
But Nina doesn't flinch when she sees his horns. She talks to him like he matters. Smiles at him like he's worth looking at. And when she moves into his cabin while her car is repaired, her warmth cracks open every wall he's built.
Her contract ends in three months. His heart won't survive her leaving. And when the fighting ring he escaped comes looking for what it lost, Garrett will have to choose — let her go to keep her safe, or claim her and face the monsters that made him.
Extreme grumpy/sunshine. Beauty and the beast. Forced proximity. A selective mute minotaur who purrs when she touches him, and the sunshine nurse who refuses to give up on him. Emotional, steamy, and guaranteed to make you ugly cry (happy tears).
The Feral Sons Monsters Who Ride Hard and Love Harder.
I went into The Gentle Beast's Beauty by Eden Valentine* expecting a steamy monster romance, but what I found was something so much deeper—an emotional, tender, quietly heartbreaking love story about two wounded people finding safety in each other when neither of them expected it. This book absolutely wrecked me in the best possible way.
The opening alone immediately pulls you in. Nina stranded on a dark forest road after hitting a deer, her phone dead, no GPS, no clue where she is—and then Garrett emerging from the woods like something out of a fairytale that could either save her or destroy her. The atmosphere was incredible. It honestly felt like the beginning of a haunting Beauty and the Beast story, except the “beast” turned out to be the safest place she could have landed.
Garrett “Gore” Maddox completely stole my heart. Beneath the massive size, scars, horns, and terrifying reputation is a deeply gentle man who has spent years believing he is something to fear instead of someone worthy of love. His selective mutism and the trauma from his past made every tiny moment of connection feel enormous. The way he communicates through actions instead of words made this romance unbelievably emotional. Every protective instinct, every soft touch, every moment he quietly cared for Nina without asking for anything in return hit so hard.
And Nina? I adored her. She never treats Garrett like a monster or a problem to fix. She sees him. Fully. That acceptance becomes the emotional heartbeat of the entire story. Watching Garrett slowly unfold under her warmth and kindness was one of the most rewarding relationship arcs I’ve read in a long time. Their growing routine together in his cabin felt intimate, cozy, and deeply healing in a way that made the romance feel authentic instead of rushed.
What really elevated this story for me was how much emotional depth existed beneath the steam and fantasy elements. The book touches on fear of the unknown, prejudice, trauma, self-worth, and what it means to finally feel safe enough to be loved. Garrett trying to make himself smaller because of what the world taught him absolutely shattered my heart.
The Feral Sons MC world also adds so much richness to the story. The found-family dynamic, the protective club atmosphere, and the hints at previous books made me want to immediately dive deeper into the series. Even though this can technically be read as a standalone, the interconnected characters make the world feel alive and layered.
If you love Beauty and the Beast retellings, extreme grumpy/sunshine dynamics, gentle monsters, forced proximity, emotionally scarred protectors, found family, and romances that balance steamy chemistry with genuine emotional healing, The Gentle Beast's Beauty deserves a spot at the top of your TBR. Garrett and Nina’s story is tender, aching, protective, and unforgettable—the kind of romance that sneaks up on your heart and stays there long after the final page.

We all know deer have a thing for doing damage to cars, and this is what happened to Nina, the stupid deer decided to take out the front end of her rental vehicle while trying to get to her now contract job, and now shes stranded in the woods, with no phone (battery died, and no GPS, because written instructions are way better - “drive past the lighthouse, hit the dirt road at the fork, keep right” - we’ve all given those instructions). While sitting in her car, a tall being comes out of the woods, rearranges the front end of the car, and leads her to his cabin in the woods (makes you think it’s doing to be a horror story starting).
Garret is a silent, gentle giant who has suffered at the hands of a horrible group of people and is always trying to make himself smaller due to his past. Nina and Garret get into a routine and slowly fall for each other, only to have Garrets past show up one day.
This is the second book I have read by Eden Valentine, and I do like her writing style. It’s very heart felt, and deals with aspects of real life (racism, fear of the unknown and some aspects in mental health). She brings them to light with the use of some monster smut, and who doesn’t want a tall brooding beast to be in their corner.
This is the 3rd book in the Feral Sons MC, they can be read as stand alone books, but they are better if read as a series because book three mentions things from book one, and we also learn more about characters from the first and second book. Each book is under 200 pages so it is a fairly quick read. Now I have to go back and read book 2 to get the story of that couple.

Short but addictive slightly different so hang on you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Nina was on her way to a contract job but to deer decided to run in front of her car taking out the front of her rental car leaving her stranded in the woods with no phone, no GPS, written instructions aren’t good because she can’t understand them really and so sitting in her broken down car when this giant comes in rearranging the car taking her to his cabin. Garret a monster right out of the movies but the gentlest silent but mostly because he has suffered at the hands of humans all his life, he has tried to make himself smaller and saving the human was something he had to do he couldn’t let her die out there. The more time they spend together the closer they grow the stronger the magnetic pull grows between them she shows him that there is more to humans than their hatefulness and he showed her that different isn’t a bad thing but will others realize that it is okay to be different, will get make to her scheduled contract, where are they headed, and will it lead them to their own happiness?
Garette had lived a horrible existence. Stolen from his family at 10, and trained like an abused animal. Forced to wear a painful muzzle device to keep him from talking. He is forced to fight for entertainment by a family of criminals, till he finally escaped at 27. Meeting Knox on a fateful day where the town is almost destroyed by wild fires. He barely ever talks, yet he joins in The Feral Sons MC . Nina is a very skilled traveling nurse, who isn't afraid to use her skills on anyone, including Monsters. Having Horns, being giants of 7 feet, or having green skin. Garette sees her stranded, after her rental car has a run in with a huge Buck. He pulls her out, and gives her shelter, and something happens. She makes him purr, and he can't seem to stop. Enemies from his past are closing in, but he's not going back. They manage to fight to stay together, but Knox's Father's clan are trying to also drag him back to lead, and breed with Orc females to keep the bloodlines strong. Can't wait for the eventual showdown. Trish. A.
"The Gentle Beast's Beauty" is a hurt/comfort take on the Beauty and the Beast legend. Quite a high angst read with both MCs having heart wrenching backstories. Pack of tissues alert. When Nina hits a deer on a forested road, she doesn't expect to get rescued by a Minotaur. Underneath the beastly appearance, Garret is a gentle, caring man, who suffers from selective mutism. Nina is drawn to him, and their relationship is sweet touches rather than speeches. It's a slow paced romance with much sizzle when they come together. Support and found family comes from Garret's fellow motorcycle club members. "The Gentle Beast's Beauty" can be read as a standalone. But reading the first two tales will give good context. It was a fun, quick read. Definitely want to read more.

This was a wonderful and emotional romance that brings two broken souls together and gives them the acceptance and love they both deserve. The story takes off with Nina crashing into a ditch and getting rescued by Minotaur, Garrett, and the fast pace carries on from there. She's a nomadic trauma nurse trying not to form attachments, and he's escaped a wretched past as a forced ring fighter. I love how her chatter and humming countered his quiet and he came to need it. Their chemistry was hot and strong but they had to make the leap of trust. Sadly, baddies were lurking, looking to take Garrett back into their custody to make him fight again... I read this in one sitting and enjoyed the reading ride filled with action, drama, danger, acceptance, MC/small town community and a sweet and steamy romance. Good fun!
Book 3 of Feral Sons MC. Can be read as a standalone but for maximum enjoyment read the books in series order.
'Extreme grumpy/sunshine. Beauty and the beast. Forced proximity. A selective mute minotaur who purrs when she touches him, and the sunshine nurse who refuses to give up on him. Emotional, steamy, and guaranteed to make you ugly cry (happy tears). The Feral Sons MC: Monsters Who Ride Hard and Love Harder.'
The characters were very appealing and likeable and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. Another great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly.!

-A tender and emotional Beauty and the Beast retelling filled with hurt, comfort, and healing. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts. Garrett, a gentle Minotaur carrying deep trauma and selective mutism, completely steals the story with his quiet devotion and protective nature. Nina’s warmth, acceptance, and refusal to see him as monstrous creates a romance that feels soft, intimate, and deeply heartfelt. This Feral Sons MC romance is an unforgettable and addictive quick read with found family, danger and steam.
Garrett has been alone for so long. He has found peace in his silence and solitude. Nina has been going from one job to the next. That's what's safe, how you protect yourself. She has a plan. Her plan definitely does not include Garrett or the people in this perfect little town that feels like home. Are either of them willing to take a chance to see if there is a better future in store? This was another great read by Eden Valentine. Garrett's story was deeply emotional. It was good to learn his story after reading about him in the previous books. I look forward to continuing this series.
When nurse Nina was heading to nightfall cove to start her 3 month contract she ends up in an accident and fears no ones around to help her until Garrett (Gore) comes to her aid. Hes a scarred and hardened by his past in the pit fights, he never thought love would be on the cards, but Nina makes him want that, only shes here for 3 months and his past is coming back for him, can he keep her and the club safe as sargent at arms. well written engaging, desires, steamy scenes, high emotions, past traumas, and more
Nina is a travel nurse with bad luck. She encounters this luck on the way to her new assignment. But in the middle of the storm comes a gentle beast Garrett. He doesn’t talk much if at all but with Nina he doesn’t need to. They have an understanding that starts from their first meeting. He may be big and most humans don’t like being around monster but Nina isn’t that. She is ok with being around them and helping them. Which is a very refreshing aspect for her job and this area. Not just the town since some of the patients travel to see her.
I just LOVE these Orcs!!!!! This series is so sweet and thoughtful…under all the naughty Orc loving and the delightful plot and backstory🤗🥰🤩😍🔥 Garret especially found a place in my heart…his quiet silence really spoke volumes😍 And Nina!!!! What a woman!!! The epitome of the perfect nurse, stoic but empathic in her inclusivity…and her belief that all creatures, human, orc, Minotaur, shifter…. Everybody deserves equal and compassionate care😍🤗.

This was another great read by Eden Valentine. Garrett's story was deeply emotional, and I found myself completely captivated by his journey. It was incredibly rewarding to finally dive into his perspective and learn his full story after seeing glimpses of him in the previous books. The dynamic between the characters felt authentic, and the emotional depth added so much to the narrative. I truly enjoyed this installment and look forward to continuing the series.

Garrett is used to being alone and barely saying one or two words at one time. Nina is a traveling nurse, never staying one place long. They meet when her she is left stranded on the forest road after striking a deer. He brings her back to his cabin and she is not fearful him and seems to what to talk to him. Nina and Garrett have an instant chemistry but will she stay or will she go when it is time? Loved Garrett, he was so damaged by life but Nina helps heal him.

Another great Feral Sons MC story. Garrett is a minotaur who was forced into an underground fighting ring at ten years old. Nina is a travelling nurse who came to Nightfall Cove for a three month assignment but found her forever. Their story is full of danger, small signs of love when neither can express themselves and an ending that makes this a page-turner.

I really loved Nina and Garett's story. Mister gumpy pants and missus stubborn. They really don't clash like I thought they would. I really enjoyed the soft moments between them. I also really liked that the whole club getting behind Garret to help Nina and how they saved her without her being harmed. I look forward to the next story in the series!.

This was a great story about Nina and Gore. When a deer takes out her car, Gore finds her and takes her back to his cabin while repairs are being on made her car. Hood a vet talk drink of Minotaur water, and the two connect pretty quickly. The fighting ring he’d left is coming for him. They want him back. But that means giving up Nina. This was danger and chaos, love and sweetness. I loved this story with them. They were great together.
I'm leaving five Stars, because after finishing this particular story. I was left grinning in giddy and rather ridiculous fashion. Garrett and Nina were adorable together. Garrett was such a kind hearted person and so was Nina. Their relationship was emotional and touching and that ending left me warm and fuzzy. Overall this was a wonderfully sweet romance.
To be honest I read all the books available in this series. Loved the characters. The author talks about serious subjects through the lenses of mythical creatures and the love story is of the chart.
